islands in games tend to be smaller to make it more enjoyable for gamers in game lore the islands would be a lot bigger unless you want the map th be absolutely massive
Well Japan is a tiny Island nation and they gave a lot of people a lot of issues, and England is a tiny island nation, and they were dominate for 700 years LOL
I love watching all your videos on this squid your amazing can you do a video on what tech, buildings, and policy we should be line for techline im new to the game and with so much stuff im not sure what I should focus on first
Did this game get optimized vs the demo? I played the demo like a year ago on my old laptop here and it had a pretty low framerate. Wanted to know if it was any better.
I guess the operational problem here can be defined by the phrase "my old laptop". Probably lowering the resolution and the graphical settings can help you a bit. The game definitively runs well on an average (not so new) gaming computer.
@@CptFugu Yea, she is an older bird but she gets it done. I was just wondering if they had optimized the game from the demo in hopes it might run smoother.
You seem to be very good at Total war Conflict. I just bought it and watched some tutorial on youtube, yet already im having massive issues in my first playthrough.. How the hell do I resolve the constant desertion, low stability, hunger problem? I did constract fishing wharf, bread maker, wheat farm, cow shed, canned meat processor..etc I should be having a surplus of food overall.. But even though i selected "easy resource management difficulty", meaning all battalions and towns take the required resources from a shared pool, i STILL get those constant desertions, events of terroists emerging just next to my towns, hunger.. then of course a powerful faction came from the darkness and attacked my port with a powerful army.. Im thinking of ending this playthrough. No idea how to save it.. I had to reload savegames a few times. Thankfully I have a powerful ally in the south covering that region, but I still got attacked through naval invasion from some random faction I never had any dealings with... Sorry, im just frustrated -_-
Not to crap on this guy but from what i've seen he isn't particularly good at this game so don't look to closely into what he is doing lol. I recommend you play as either Narvik or Reyvik as they are the best starts as you have one land border and then can take your time after you beat your neighbour. Probably worth rerolling the save til you start with either iron, copper or aluminium. Regroup all your good units into 2 battalions (reduce the vehicle squads to 2 -5 man squads to save reservists) and move most of your equipment to the cities near your border and rearm your 2 fighting battalions ensuring to leave a couple smaller ones for defence. Then immediately justify war on your neighbour because they will declare war on you soon and you will lose loads of stability if you can't justify and declare before them. Once you've taken them out your mostly safe to do what you want provided you defend your ports you can freely invade or build up your industry/ military. Don't take too long though as the AI will get a random selection of units from that year so if you wait too long they will have all the best equipment and loads of it. I've found that because you can only build 1 building at a time it's not really feasible to start with low resources as it takes soo long to get production running that your country will be run into the ground before u can. I recommend you start with high resources, immediately start building distilleries and cig factories, just one of each at first then start producing food. You need alcohol and cigarettes as well as police (garrison units with police uniforms) in each city to stop your stability from going down, the lower the stab the more rebels will spawn and losing reservists and equipment fighting them constantly is really painful plus time consuming so you want to raise your stab as fast as possible. Once you have sorted your food out Keep building distilleries and cig factories til your stability starts going up (buying up any cloth, stone and wood planks on market as possible.). Unfortunately there is no system to see the supply and demand of resources so just keep building til the resource stops going down. (game is still a long way from being finished but when it works it works well.) you might have to build a stone mine and plank production between factories to keep up your construction. After your food, stability and building supplies are stable you can start focusing on mil factories, residential and metal bar production. Personally i've not had to build a cloth industry because there's always cloth on the market for cheap, which saves build slots, time and resources. Next are reservists, they are not only required for recruits but also speed up production of resources for farms. mines ect. So don't over recruit and make sure your important production hubs have a good amount of reservists. Also use the market, it's vital for getting resource's you cannot produce or filling demand temporarily so make sure to check it regularly and buy up any resources you might need like fuel, cigs & alcohol. later on you can afford to build refineries that you don't have mines for by buying up all the ore on the market that you need and selling excess resources or weapons. Long term plans help a lot when it comes to resource management knowing what you need to stock up on from the market. For example i tend to buy any cloth i see if i have the money as i tend to not build a cloth industry. Under all the bugs and jank there is a really good game that you can catch glimpses' of if you play long enough but even with all these tips it can be frustrating as hell.
Wasnt expecting a short novel read along before the game actually begins

Thanks for breaking down the economy parts of the game. Aka food
Somehow, the idea that all these tiny island nations have functioning modern militaries is so silly.

Your capital city need police squads in the garrison . Residential buildings in your farm city for recruits . First build two bakeries no matter what.
And certain politics help you with stability too .
