VDV stands for "Vozdushno-desantnye voyska" or in English "Russian Airborne Forces." They are essentially para-troopers. The Typhoon is more of an APC on wheels (debatable though since it has a 30mm autocannon - may actually be an IFV). Love the channel!
Really is a fun game. I like the concept a lot and it has some of my favorite vehicles like the bmp's and the unique tanks. Artillery is crazy op and the king of battle.
