Jonghyun's sudden loss in 2017 shook the entire Kpop industry, the most popular groups and idols came together to say goodbye to him at the time, including BTS, RM said in an interview to Billboard, in 2018: “We went to give our condolences that morning, I couldn't sleep that night, the whole thing was so shocking because we saw him so often at events. He was so successful.”, Suga also said, “It was a shock to everyone, and I really sympathized with him.” The SHINee boys went through a lot at the time, even considering disbandment, while experiencing the grief, not only of a member, but also of a +12 years friend, they were judged by "people" who said they were using Jonghyun's loss to "benefit", because of this, for a long time they were afraid to talk about Jonghyun openly, Key said in 2021 that he hated how it seemed like it was forbidden to talk about him at that time. 2 months after, the boys returned to the stage, in Japan, to do shows, in which the tickets had been sold when they were still 5, in 2017, it was a special request from Jonghyun's mother for them to do the shows, it was days very difficult for them and their fans, but it was beautiful to see their strength, the setlist included their old songs, with Jonghyun's voice, and new songs, among them, *From Now On* , the last Japanese song that Jonghyun recorded with the boys, i recommend watching it, it's painful but important for your trajectory In 2018, they made a trilogy, *The Story Of Light* , with songs that talked about what they were going through, the album itself was a tribute to Jonghyun, Good Evening, I Want, and Our Page, with the latter a direct homage to Jonghyun, in the lyrics and in the MV. The boys keep Jonghyun's legacy alive to this day, they always mention his name, they bought friendship rings with each one's name, they made 5, including one for Jonghyun, which was given to his sister, they keep their space in old choreographies, and even in some new ones, keeps his voice in the songs during the shows, to remind us that *SHINee is still 5.*
This comment is everything! Thank you so so much! I did watch a few more songs by them and I must say I am Jonghyun bias….his voice is out of this world! I cannot imagine what he went through to make such a decision, and what the boys went through. I just found out everything now and it’s heartbreaking… I could not imagine being a fan then and seeing this….Thank you so much for your recommendations and for your amazing words! 💜

SHINee's "Replay," which came out May 25, 2008, is literally considered one of the best debut songs of all time for any Kpop artist because it's so timeless and it never goes out of style or sounds outdated no matter how old it gets. And this is why SHINee are Icons. This song actually came out more than 16 years ago, however, SM Entertainment rebranded itself and started its new UA-cam channel in 2011. The company reuploaded most of their older videos at that time. So, all their older MVs and content have a 2011 or newer date, but could be much older than that. You're lucky you are watching this MV after SM remastered it, because now it has English subtitles. Because usually any of SM's videos that came out before 2018 don't have subs in the official video. (Only the video is remastered to up the quality of the video and to add subtitles, but the song is exactly how it was when they debuted. Just check out their debut showcase and then watch a live concert performance and you will discover that it sounds exactly the same.) "Replay" isn't just nostalgic, it's legendary. And SHINee are legends. Every new rookie group in the industry has covered "Replay" at least once in their career and it's one of those songs that is pretty much compulsory for everyone to know and learn, even still today. And, yes, of course SHINee have great voices. As an SM group, we shouldn't expect any less. You can't be SM artists without having amazing vocal abilities. Even SM's rappers get intense vocal training. That is why SM is considered the vocal powerhouse of the industry, because ALL of its artists have out-of-this-world vocal abilities. And not only are all the members of SHINee amazing singers, but they are the original vocal kings. EXO now may be considered "the vocal kings of Kpop", but SHINee were the ones that showed the industry what it meant to be vocalists. From day one, SHINee's main vocalists, Onew and Jonghyun, have been two of the top vocalists in the entire industry, and SHINee as a group make up one of the best vocal groups of all time. Just for reference, Onew is the one in the hat, Jonghyun is the one with the headphones, Key is the one in green, Minho is the one playing basketball (he is always the tallest member) and Taemin is the one in yellow. Onew (the leader and lead vocalist) was 18, Jonghyun (the main vocalist and a songwriter) had just turned 18, Minho (the main rapper and sub-vocalist) and Key (lead vocalist and sub-rapper) were 16 and Taemin (Main dancer and lead vocalist) was 14. However, now SHINee are known for the fact that there are no longer any fixed roles in their group. The main vocalists can rap, the rappers can fill in as main vocalists and they're all impressive dancers. SHINee are some of the most well-respected artists in the industry. The Noona (the older girl SHINee have a crush on that they are singing to) in the "Replay" MV is the leader of their sister group***, Victoria from F(x). This MV came out more than a year before F(X) debuted, so this was Victoria even before debut. (Funny thing is, Victoria is native Chinese and she says she was still learning Korean during this time and she could barely even say SHINee.) Victoria was so perfect in this role because she is a few years older than any of the SHINee members so she fit well as the lead actress in this MV. As the song says, 'Noona neomu yeppeo .... replay, replay, replay ...." In other words, they are saying "pretty older woman I really like you and I think you like me too ... every time I see you, I need a replay of the moment over and over again in my head." Noona neomu yeppeo is a Korean term that essentially means "Pretty older woman" Noona neomu yeppeo is a term that is only used by guys to describe a beautiful woman that is older than them. There really isn't a literal translation of the term, so that is why the song is called "Replay" in English. But in Korean it is called "Noona neomu yeppeo." That's why if you watch SHINee on a lot of variety shows and TV programs, the older women in the show often ask SHINee to sing this song to them, even still today. This song makes all the women swoon. (Even 15 years later, when Taemin recently appeared on The Manager reality show, the female hosts of the show asked him to sing "Replay" to them.) ***SHINee and F(x) are both SM Entertainment groups, they debuted within a year of each other, they both are 5 member groups (Now 4 member groups ;( ) and they have similar music styles and concepts, etc. F(x) is pretty much the female version of SHINee. SHINee are one of the most iconic and influential groups. They are always setting trends, never following them. SHINee were designed to be SM Entertainment's experimental boy group, so everything they do is meant to be the first and they are expected to create the trend. With every new song SHINee produces it's supposed to be different than the last, so you will never hear the same style or sound from them in any of their songs, even on the same album, and yet, somehow it will always sound like SHINee. They reinvent the industry with every new release. Fun fact: SM originally wanted to make SHINee a hip-hop group. Hip-hop was the style of music that was really popular when they debuted. That's why Key and Minho are both rappers and how Taemin started out as a popper in dance. But as Key tells it, they just didn't have the swag they needed in order to be taken seriously as a hip-hop group. So, right before their debut, SM switched up their sound and style to "Replay," and the SHINee members spent a few intense weeks working on their vocal abilities in order to be able to match the skills needed for a vocal heavy song like this. And the rest is history. As you just heard, this is SHINee's signature classic contemporary R&B vocals they are now known for. As you can see by their "Replay" MV, even at 14, Taemin was one of the best dancers in Kpop, and you will soon discover with the more that you watch from SHINee and Taemin's solo work, that he has only gotten more magnificent over the years. SHINee are known for their live vocals and amazing dancing. From day one they became known as CD-quality singers because they sound just as good live, if not better, than they do recorded. When they debuted they were one of the only groups who were singing live while performing this intense choreography. And everyone was so shocked with their abilities. The ONLY thing the SHINee members are not good at is lip syncing, therefore, they avoid it at all costs. When you hear SHINee singing, 95% of the time it will be live. It's a running joke between the fans and the members that when SHINee lip syncs you can tell because it's very obvious. So, unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, SHINee will always sing live. They have trained their entire career to build endurance and stamina in order to be able to sing live and continue to sound flawless while performing like this for more than 3 hours straight in concert. SHINee set the standard. That is why they are so highly respected among their peers. It is literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard all other groups strive to reach. You should also check out SHINee's "Replay" dance practice, ua-cam.com/video/gv60nR3_69U/v-deo.html. It's not an official dance practice video because dance practice videos didn't become a thing until 2010 when SHINee released the very first dance practice video for their song "Lucifer," but it is a real dance practice video from way back to SHINee's debut days. SHINee are the reason why Kpop groups produce dance practice/choreography videos today. SHINee just recently talked about how they spent months as trainees practicing this choreography in order to get it down perfectly. During Taemin's appearance on The Manager, you will see all 4 of the SHINee members in the dance studio practicing for their "Hard" comeback last year, as well as their concert performance, and they talk about what it was like when they were trainees learning the dance.
SM really got it right putting these five together. Their vocals are gorgeous; their live performances are crazy good, and they're a class act as people. I discovered Shinee by way of stumbling across Jonghyun's solo work several years ago when I started exploring k-pop, and every Shinee member impresses the hell out of me. Jonghyun owns my soul, though. He has an extraordinary range of things he can do with his incomparable voice, not to mention his songwriting, composing, producing, stage presence; and he connected to people in many ways, including hosting a late night radio show for years. A beautiful and much loved person who was also massively talented and very hard-working. I could recommend way too much for both Shinee and for Jonghyun's solo stuff (in case you decide to explore that at some point), but I'll hold it down to just a few. (These are mostly live performances and generally at Shinee World concerts, which don't seem to have any problem with getting blocked.) There's a blistering Ring Ding Dong and Lucifer remix from Shinee World 5. Super high energy - it's definitely the grown-up version of Ring Ding Dong. If you like ballads: Sleepless Night (Shinee World 3). Moon River Waltz (Japan Arena Tour 'Boys Meet U'). Selene 6.23. Romeo + Juliet (Shinee World 5. Especially good showcase of Jonghyun's and Onew's voices.) Please Don't Go (Shinee World 5. An utterly gorgeous duet by Onew and Jonghyun.) Some of the most iconic performances include Stranger (Shinee World 4), Shinee In The House intro, followed by Sherlock Clue + Note (Shinee World 4) Excuse Me Miss (Shinee World 4), Evil (Shinee World 3). Juliette is another of my favorites, either the MV or any performance. And Lucifer, and Sherlock, and Hello, and Dream Girl....I'll stop now! I hope you explore more Shinee (and find them as easy to fall in love with as I did :-)).
I could've written this very post. I'd add Password, Love, and Fire from SWC 2014. Nightmare from SWC IV. And the intro sets from III, IV, and V (Evil, Hitchhiking, Spoiler, etc.)
@lionelcrews Password never fails to give me chills, Nightmare too - I hardly ever see it being mentioned but it's wonderfully eerie and compelling. And everything else you added, too - I think I'll go rewatch one of the SW concerts now, thanks for inspiring me! :-)
@@summertee9346 I watched them about a dozen times each. A true testament to their staying power. When Jonghyun is catapulted on to the stage at the beginning of III, or when the barely audible "oh ohhh, oh oh-oh oh-oh-ohhh" comes in at V, or when Minho's whispers "SHINee's back" at the beginning of IV ... I'm just like "welp, there goes the next three hours of my life." And it's a good thing.
4:41/5:05/5:25 The beautiful voice you said you liked here comes from Jonghyun, regarded as one of the best vocalists from South Korea who we sadly lost too soon…He was the main vocalist of the group and it’s easy to see why. He will forever live in our hearts, and SHINee will forever be a group of five! ❤️
I'm happy that you decided to react to Shinee. Shinee debuted in 2008 under SM and are still active today. They are a legendary group in K-pop (they introduced musical genres, they are the first to have included complicated choreographies and precise during their performances and it is always thanks to them that we have our beloved dance practices). They have a very broad discography that touches all musical genres. Replay is one of Shinee's most iconic songs together with ring ding dong, sherlock, lucifer, View...all their songs in my opinion are timeless. Taemin was only 14 years old in the video..he was so cute😍Unfortunately, the loss of Jonghyun was a blow to the heart for both the group and the fans but I'm sure that from up there you look at them and are proud of them I would be very happy to see you also explore the solo discography of Jonghyun who, in addition to being an exceptional singer, was also a songwriter (he wrote for both shinee and other artists). to their iconic songs I recommend you see live odd eye, selene 6.23, excuse me miss, dynamite
I was told Jonghyun's solos are amazing and I need to see. I like them and they have amazing voices. I know I will be in for a great journey with them as well.
This is my first video of yours, I hope you have more reactions to SHINee, I have listened to several Kpop albums for +12 years, and SHINee genuinely has the best discography in the industry, in my opinion obviously, you will love it. 😊❤
Lots of great recommendations here. To really get the full SHINee experience I'd recommend watching one of their concerts. SHINee World III, IV, V, and 2014 are probably the best. There you get to see their talent, stage presence, and personality on top of amazing sets and hilarious VCRs. Side Note: Their Korean (plus other countries) concerts are labelled with Roman numerals, while their Japan tours have the year. They alternate back and forth starting around 2011 and going to 2017.
I’m a Stay Army Atiny tooooo omg Hi friend😂😊 I’ve been into kpop for a long time so I’m a multi at this point but my heart is for sure, stay army atiny as of now
I don’t like too many K-pop groups and I’m Army all the way but Shinee is a very close second. They are so talented, hard working and resilient… And they make great music! Wow those voices, their dance, they have paved the way and continue to do so despite not having one of their members present but they always include him in spirit in everything they do as brothers…they are amazing. Very original and unique, also very funny in interviews and when together. Love them ❤!!!
I don’t know whether you saw Suchwita with Taemin as his guest because half way through they bought in Jimin because he is one of his best friends and they have done dancing together because they are such good dancers !

Hopefully u will find more songs to love as u explore their discography. =0} The vocal u liked is Jonghyun. He sadly is the one that has left us. He wrote a lot of music for Shinee. So glad u liked this. Yes, SM is part of the big 3. JYP, YG and SM. BTS are HYBE/Big Hit. The guys in 2018 maybe or after comeback with some songs in memory of Jonghyun. I hope u check them out. When they debuted they didn't even get any promos beforehand like what usually happens with new groups, just a few days before their television debut there was a news story about this new group with the song called Replay from SM and then they had their debut on Inkigayo (very unheard of) a few days later and then they grew from there. They are known as the Idol of Idol's and a lot of groups, even their seniors in the industry, look up to them and love them. And despite them debuting in 2008 they were all 15-18 years old at the time and they often teased other idol groups about that as they were often younger than them but had more seniority in the industry lol. Charitha Venkatesh.B said on 2/20/2022 "Marry you" is the latest one of the 3-part sequel that SHINee is doing since debut... The sequence goes like 💙"Replay" (liking & confessing to an older girl - debut 2008) 💙"Love sick" (how their relationship is still going on - 2015, the dance choreo for love sick mirrors choreo of replay and at one time during the performance when the lyrics say 'how long has it been' they show 7 in their fingers indicating the years from 2008 to 2015, meaning they have been in love for the whole time & in relationship with the same girl) 💙"Marry you" (proposing to that girl - 2021) This is the whole relationship arc, they joked that the next song in a few years might be either about their child or about a divorce 😆😆🤣 The lyrics also show the continuation here, 💕Replay: "You are too pretty" 💕Love sick: "You were too pretty, do you know" 💕Marry you: "You are still too pretty, u take my breath away everytime I see you" 💕Replay: "You are everything to my life" 💕Love sick: "You are still everything to my life" 💕Marry you: "Still everything to my life" Sakura said on 4/16/23 Thanks for your reaction 😊 For SHINee, here a little warning so you know: "Replay", "Love", "Diamond sky" and "From now on" from their concert of the same title "From now on", are very emotional (first concert after). There are also others lives performances of their others concerts that are very moving but I think the most difficult one to watch for the first time remains "Y se fuera ella" by Jonghyun (There is a version with Eng Sub). And even if someone request it, "Our page" is a mv to watch later in your journey (song written by the members for Jonghyun, the lyrics are a must). That's why if you watch SHINee on a lot of variety shows and TV programs, the older women in the show often ask SHINee to sing this song to them, even still today. This song makes all the women swoon. (Even 15 years later, when Taemin recently appeared on The Manager reality show, the female hosts of the show asked him to sing "Replay" to them.)
***SHINee and F(x) are both SM Entertainment groups, they debuted within a year of each other, they both are 5 member groups (Now 4 member groups ;( ) and they have similar music styles and concepts, etc.
Thank you so much! I will have to admit that any group that will try to cover a Shinee song will be very much tested because they are so good.
(These are mostly live performances and generally at Shinee World concerts, which don't seem to have any problem with getting blocked.)
There's a blistering Ring Ding Dong and Lucifer remix from Shinee World 5.
Especially good showcase of Jonghyun's and Onew's voices.)
Please Don't Go (Shinee World 5. An utterly gorgeous duet by Onew and Jonghyun.)
Some of the most iconic performances include Stranger (Shinee World 4), Shinee In The House intro, followed by Sherlock Clue + Note (Shinee World 4) Excuse Me Miss (Shinee World 4), Evil (Shinee World 3).
@lionelcrews
Password never fails to give me chills, Nightmare too - I hardly ever see it being mentioned but it's wonderfully eerie and compelling.
I can totally see why! 💜💜💜 He was and is amazing…too bad we lost such an amazing person.

@@lorydannagr yes. they have a good bond. great vocals and choreo.
This is my first video of yours, I hope you have more reactions to SHINee, I have listened to several Kpop albums for +12 years, and SHINee genuinely has the best discography in the industry, in my opinion obviously, you will love it. 😊❤
Check out shinee's entire discography and solo work. Have any questions about them feel free to ask.
So much talent. Look at them now.
I’m a Stay Army Atiny tooooo omg
Hi friend😂😊
I’ve been into kpop for a long time so I’m a multi at this point but my heart is for sure, stay army atiny as of now
Hi!!!! It’s so nice to meet people that love the same groups! 😍😍😍😍
Love them ❤!!!
best debut song to ever exist!
Here for shinee❤
5HINee forever....thank you for ur kind words of them❤
I don’t know whether you saw Suchwita with Taemin as his guest because half way through they bought in Jimin because he is one of his best friends and they have done dancing together because they are such good dancers !
SHINEE 🩵"PRINCES OF KPOP " "IDOLS OF IDOLS " Best known for top tier HARMONIES and complex, creative, intricate CHOREOGRAPHIES. There is a MV ' Shinee Setting the Bar So High Others Can't Reach' that explains it all. I am First and Always ARMY💜 and a STAY❤️. As per Suga on Suchwita, "Shinee was the group BTS looked up to and strived to emulate in live performances." Your channel is so fun always something new and unexpected. I never try to push reactors towards any group. I figure great reactors will gravitate to great music on their own, just like your recent reactions to ENHYPEN🧡 and now SHINEE🩵💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 Replay on One Hour Loop is great for house cleaning putying make-up on, or treadmill😄LOL.
SHINee 5 Member Main Vocalist It's Real !
Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. Great job in spotting Taemin and Minho. So many new reactors can't connect current Taemin to his past self. To my surprise i liked Replay on 1st listen. It's still a fav for me. R&B vibes. It was sweet and had good harmonies. Taemin biased. Love his dancing. I will check out ur other reactions to Shinee. They are beautiful. Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army💟
SHINee fun facts : They were the first ones to start doing dance practice videos :)

SHINee was SM's experimental group.

"Marry you" is the latest one of the 3-part sequel that SHINee is doing since debut... The sequence goes like
💙"Replay" (liking & confessing to an older girl - debut 2008)
💙"Love sick" (how their relationship is still going on - 2015, the dance choreo for love sick mirrors choreo of replay and at one time during the performance when the lyrics say 'how long has it been' they show 7 in their fingers indicating the years from 2008 to 2015, meaning they have been in love for the whole time & in relationship with the same girl)
💙"Marry you" (proposing to that girl - 2021)
This is the whole relationship arc, they joked that the next song in a few years might be either about their child or about a divorce 😆😆🤣
The lyrics also show the continuation here,
💕Replay:
"You are too pretty"
💕Love sick:
"You were too pretty, do you know"
💕Marry you:
"You are still too pretty, u take my breath away everytime I see you"
💕Replay:
"You are everything to my life"
💕Love sick:
"You are still everything to my life"
💕Marry you:
"Still everything to my life"

Thanks for your reaction 😊
For SHINee, here a little warning so you know: "Replay", "Love", "Diamond sky" and "From now on" from their concert of the same title "From now on", are very emotional (first concert after).
I prefer to warn in case, at least you can prepare a little mentally and bring some tissues 😕
Shinee songs i like;
Replay
View
Kind
Countless
Tell Me What To Do
Good Evening May 2018
Body Rhythm
1,000 Years
Fire
Winter Wonderland
I really like the song. I heard it before, but in some kdrama or tik tok, so I had no idea it was by them. I really enjoy listening to them. 💜
I'm actually not very interested in kpop in general. I love BTS ...and I love Shinee :) I also found it amazing that really all of them have great vocal abilities. There are lots of great songs to explore :) And I'm really glad that they continued. They are still alive and kicking. One of my favorite performances by them is "Excuse me Miss" from 2015 ua-cam.com/video/T0MAL3hVwoE/v-deo.htmlsi=wnO2marr_oF286HK Fun fact for you: Shinee's Minho and BTS' Teahyung both were in the series "Hwarang" .
hey! can you react to "dont call me" it is one of their recents songs! (for me 3 years ago is recent lol)
Jonghyung intihar etmişti çok üzülmüştüm 🥺
I know….😔😔😔
