Everybody always focuses on Henning's voice (understandable, but still), so it was nice to see someone talk about both voices and the awesome work of both bands. Great reaction.
Especially when he says “IN” at the end of his first voice. I used to play tuba and seriously thought about playing a note to see if I could get it to sound like one note instead of a singer and tuba haha
He feels like a very reedy (This is something that can contribute to the texture of the saxophone but also other instruments that are similar like clarinets) baritone saxophone or a bass sax. When you add the ready texture to those deeper notes, it can have a little bit of distorting sound to it without using an amp.
It makes me happy that the english speaking audience got to meet annemaykantereit through that song. They're music is incredibly "down to the ground". Don't know how to describe it. But their simplicity has a lot of substance to it. Henning definitely has that screaming a people walking buy while busking voice. And more. But I can definitely hear that experience.
How is no one talking about how the percussion along with bass is put together amazing with maracas ?!?? And a trumpet 🤯it’s mind blowing how amazing these bands work together and the transition
Yeah. This has been trending for a while now. We've all listened to it about 30 times now. Never gets old. So glad you found it and shared it again with us. And yes, Annenmeit's voice made all of our jaws drop to the floor when we first heard that Louie Armstrong voice come out of that skinny body. ❤
Tara, a huge thank you for introducing these two groups...after hearing this truly addictive sample of the two bands I quickly looked up their individual works and was delighted and the quality (and creativity) of their individual bands as well.... Merci!!
You hear Freddy's voice and think "what a great voice", and then.....bang! And your chin just drops. And I love the wee smile Freddy gives while that starts. Have seen this loads of times now,but still stop to play it when it comes up again. Magic combo.
Can’t get you out of my head is another great Cover of AnnenMayKantereit and the Band Parcels. There are so many good Songs from them. Sometimes I like to lie is one of Sean Penn‘s favourite Songs … thx for the Reaction 👍
I love "Can't get you out of my head" by AnnenMayKantereit" as well. That was the first song I heard from them. When Henning's voice popped in my mind just lost it.
Hi Tara! This one was totally amazing when I reacted to it for the first time. These guys are both amazing and Hennings voice is so unique. So many people have seen the short I made and I’m so glad they are getting more and more people to enjoy their music. Thanks for doing this one! From one music teacher to another I really love your content. I’ve been enjoying it for a long time.
I love Annenmaykantereit ! Thanks for your reaction and I also love this song with Giant Rocks. But Annenmaykantereit are pretty amazing with a lot of songs 😍
Annenmaykantereit is one of my favorite bands. Henning May's voice is amazing and he has such a wonderful feel for the moment. You should check out some of their original songs. "Barfuß am Klavier," "Pocahontas," and "Tommi" are my picks to start. A different artist (and language) to dive into for fantastic vocals and all around talent, Mon Laferte. She has powerful belts and soft whispers. Her songs have lyrical substance as well. I'd suggest starting off with "Mi buen amor," "antes de ti" (Spanish or japanese versions available), "tu falta de querer," and "cielito de abril"
When people play together with this level of mastery it feels almost like they are all playing and singing the whole piece at once. To me the most insanely impressive thing is the silent count followed by everyone coming in flawlessly at the end. It really takes mastery to be so locked in to the timing of the piece and the other musicians. I struggle to tap along to things Im listening to, let alone tap along to something I have to track in my head
When I heard a song of the second singers band for the first time in the radio I thought this must be a massive bald muscle packed guy almost like a harbour worker or something like this and this guy was shown in a video and I was as shocked as you are.
Oh Tara... you just scratched the surface of AMK! I highly suggest you react to those songs as well. 1st Roxanne - AMK feat Milky Chance (another great collab) 2nd Barfuß am Klavier (Henning solo) 3rd Du bist anders (Henning, Cristopher and a guitar) 4th Pocahontas (probably their biggest single here in germany)
It's a unique situation with both vocalists. Independently, both are awesome, and they compliment each other well, but it must be hard to be outshined by your counterpart.
I am totally addicted to this 👍😁 . The arrangement of this is so intelligent and professional, never seen anything like it. Tara's word "Stellar" just nailed it. Two amazing vocalists, Henning's Voice is awesome in contrast the Freddy. Love the second band with the bass, guitar, then keyboard sounds, smooth. Tara's commentary throughout is awesome as well 😁👍👌
You should look at some of their German stuff aswell. They have some really beautiful songs ("barfuß am Klavier" for example. Translation: barefoot at the piano. Or "oft gefragt" meaning often asked) ❤
it literally took me a month to stop listening to this the first time i heard it. absolute PERFECTION. also...they did a cover of "roxanne" that is UNREAL.
Hennings voice is like the gift that keeps on giving :D I reaaaaaally want to know what he will sound like 20-30 years from now :D He's gonna be a good Johnny Cash double or sth I imagine :D
I would love to see you reacting to "Xavier Naidoo - Führ mich ans Licht" :D he manages to make the german language sound good (yeah unbelievable but true)
Everybody always focuses on Henning's voice (understandable, but still), so it was nice to see someone talk about both voices and the awesome work of both bands. Great reaction.
I mean cmon . Listening to henning . That voice is worth it’s weight in gold . Respect to everyone else
Henning is amazing but together the balance is perfect
Exactly.
both voices fit perfectly together imo
Still brings the band the attention that they deserve.
The guy with the gravelly voice sounds like a brass instrument when he sings certain notes. Its amazing to hear.
Especially when he says “IN” at the end of his first voice. I used to play tuba and seriously thought about playing a note to see if I could get it to sound like one note instead of a singer and tuba haha
He sounds more like a growling baritone saxophone than a brass instrument tbh. Brass doesnt growl that way
He feels like a very reedy (This is something that can contribute to the texture of the saxophone but also other instruments that are similar like clarinets) baritone saxophone or a bass sax. When you add the ready texture to those deeper notes, it can have a little bit of distorting sound to it without using an amp.
The way she describes everything is amazing. Puts the words to feeling.
Makes me think of something else. She’s great!
The GIANT ROOKS are awesome.
I have never heard these guys, but I WAS NOT READY for them to sing like this! Their voices are phenomenal! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
the last what we can give up^^ as german^^
How is no one talking about how the percussion along with bass is put together amazing with maracas ?!?? And a trumpet 🤯it’s mind blowing how amazing these bands work together and the transition
My husband said the same thing
This is very righteous brothers! That high and low vocals that contrasts each other perfectly!

The man with the growly voice is Henning May. Annen, May and Kantereit are the last names of the three people who started the band.
Annenmeit...? 🤨
Tara, a huge thank you for introducing these two groups...after hearing this truly addictive sample of the two bands I quickly looked up their individual works and was delighted and the quality (and creativity) of their individual bands as well.... Merci!!

They'll appreciate your reaction, Tara, such a great rendition.
Can’t get you out of my head is another great Cover of AnnenMayKantereit and the Band Parcels. There are so many good Songs from them. Sometimes I like to lie is one of Sean Penn‘s favourite Songs … thx for the Reaction 👍
Roxanne cover w/ Henning May (AMK) and Clemens Rehbein of another German band Milky chance, is awesome.
The 1st guy dosen't get the luv needed. He's so sharp with the word release! Like them too the stars.😊
I love "Can't get you out of my head" by AnnenMayKantereit" as well. That was the first song I heard from them. When Henning's voice popped in my mind just lost it.
Same

This one of the best cover, but Tara...just, BEST
I just discovered this song and Henning today. Really, no words. Incredible.
Wow wow wow! OMG, what a great concept! Thanks for sharing this, Tara!
Love both voices!!

Excellent reaction! Love how you knew the bands names.
Those hearts were the perfect way to express that moment! 💕💕💕
Yesss... thank you so much for this! ... soo good... love it when you lose yourself in the videos and reactions in a very positive way...🫶🏻
The first singer hits me in my soul. I get that the second singer is amazing, but that yodel style is amazing
i didn't expect the second singer to have this kind of tone , his voice doesn't match the way he look , this is the shock factor !
When I heard a song of the second singers band for the first time in the radio I thought this must be a massive bald muscle packed guy almost like a harbour worker or something like this and this guy was shown in a video and I was as shocked as you are.
I love how you critique the artists that you react to. It's really so helpful! Thank you.
I love how she describes all of these voices with such descriptive words. Tara is extremely intelligent.
Wow someone is creating fake accounts to compliment their lack of ability and that’s hilarious.

Penaldo fan ?? They are known for being delusional
Tara, you had the same reaction as I did. Both bands are phenomenal 🩵both singers leave me deep in love.
You should check out the guy with the deep voice (forgot his name 😅) singing “Roxanne” with Milky Chance. It’s Amazing !!!
much underrated german singers with so much talent and fun 😀😀
Favorite cover of all time. Absolutely crazy the low singing guy can make that voice
This has been in my playlist since I heard it a few month ago I love it
Hahaha you sounded like these guys were about to make you act up 😂😂 incredible
He gives me chills. Ive been hooked on them for years, even though i dont speak German😂😂😂😂
Love this song done by Fred and Henning and the band. It makes me so happy.
Hints of Chris Cornell in there!
Incredible, both of them, bands, and camera work!
Enjoyed your commentary, thanks for sharing!
Oh Tara... you just scratched the surface of AMK!

The crazy vibrato from Henning at the end is what I was so excited for you to touch on and you talked over it 😭😭
fire. your reaction is fire. watching you enjoy it made me enjoy it even more
Hennings voice gives me goosebumps
We need this version recorded so we can listen at anytime!
This gave me CHILLS & JOY at the SAME time 🎉💃🏽🤩🎼🎤🎧🙏🏽👑
It's a unique situation with both vocalists. Independently, both are awesome, and they compliment each other well, but it must be hard to be outshined by your counterpart.
It just blows my mind this kind of genius talent, just wow!
Both voices and the music arrangement!
This is your best ever reaction 😂 love it
henning may is incredible and i’m striving to sound exactly like him.
Tara's commentary throughout is awesome as well 😁👍👌
AnnenMayKantereit long time in my playlist!)
What a great song and the review was even better dare I say!
You should look at some of their German stuff aswell. They have some really beautiful songs ("barfuß am Klavier" for example. Translation: barefoot at the piano. Or "oft gefragt" meaning often asked) ❤
Loved your reaction! ❤❤❤
First video review from Tara I’ve seen and loved it. 10/10
I’m 19 and I’ve been listening to hemming may since I was probably 17 his voice is beautiful
I have listened OVER & OVER!! Totally LOVE IT!!!
it literally took me a month to stop listening to this the first time i heard it. absolute PERFECTION. also...they did a cover of "roxanne" that is UNREAL.
Hennings voice is like the gift that keeps on giving :D I reaaaaaally want to know what he will sound like 20-30 years from now :D
He's gonna be a good Johnny Cash double or sth I imagine :D
That voice does something to me primarily. I have it on repeat i like there German songs too very catchy
I could listen to Tara narrate all the music I listen. Thank you for your comments.
First of all this is my favorite song, second it’s amazing to hear such a great cover. Like i can’t even
You definitely should experience Annenmaykantereit live, it's an unforgettable event 😍
Sensacionales debería estar sonando en todas las plataformas.
they just gave her an eargasm
Tightness! Teacher couldn't help but show her O' Face! Yes we can agree it's freakin' awesome! Love the arrangement! Better than the original version!
Hennings Voice is incredible. Check out the song with milky chance!
His voice definitely tickled parts of you without touching it 😂
I thought she was coming
The two voices in complementarity are better than either one alone.
The camera work is top quality as well!
Henning does rly have that voice that makes pants drop xD
This Lady is the real star
You really need to check out Geoff castellucci new song Carol of the bells like you said in this one he has tectonic plates in his throat
Baby Tom waits
I’ve looked into both bands and have to say Giant Rooks gets the win outside of this song. Check out their song Wild Stare Cardinal Sessions .
Thank you for reacting to AnnenMayKantereit 🫶🏻
Love thT raspy voice omg😊
Anne would fit some blues rock or delta blues with his voice
the first guy sounds like Paulo Nutini.. which is enough for me already.. then the second guy.. whoa...
Henning kills it so good
Just proves the most superior instrument is the voice!
Love listening to these guys
Y’all ought to check out the original “Tom’s Diner” by Suzanne Vega and then a later remix with DMX…hands down fantastic!!
I've listened to this since yesterday 😀😃😄😁😆😅
She almost slipped out of her chair and I can't blame her for one second. 🤯🥵
I came here specifically to get the Vocabulary to describe these vocals so I could find more like them.
Listen to the song "Orangenlied" live from A.M.K.
I love Freddy's sound
Huh, don’t know how I missed this a year ago…but here now, because I saw the title and thought…” it can’t be *that* Tom’s diner” .
It was. 😂
Every woman I've seen react to this about has the same reaction to May 😂
Henning could write his own ticket in North America !
This to me, is the Number one Song, Vocals, and Video for the NEXT 50-100 years. "Ai" will have Envy over humans forever.
Roxanne cover they do is amazing.
Henning’s voice makes women’s pants fall off- 😊
Of course everyone focuses on the voices but That One shot was impressive!
All was perfect
OK, this is so fun (& will for sure be in my head for a casual 282914 days 💅🏽😉)
I would love to see you reacting to "Xavier Naidoo - Führ mich ans Licht" :D he manages to make the german language sound good (yeah unbelievable but true)
