I am baffled about your level of skill in building fuel tanks. Tank you very much for educating me on this topic. This fuels my imagination as to what I could accomplish.
Would be great to see your stuff at the Sydney show however I live in Melbourne. Had you been at the Melbourne show I still would not have seen you as I only go to it every...well...not often due to the Internet having made the show reduntant. To all those who didn't experience car shows pre 2010, just assume I'm full of shit and go to the Sydney show to see MAB and find yourself some bargains at the ARB stand. Looking forward to your post Sydney show video to see what I missed out on, which in turn will prove I didn't miss out on anything. Thanks for sharing and don't forget to continue to do so. Cheers
Most steel aftermarket tanks for a 4x4 are 2mm. The one on the 76 has taken some big hits and come out on top, I wouldn't like the chances of something thinner.
@@FREDDAGGS You did say what you ment by rust. Top tipp from me: Paint it! but seriously: Are you just trolling or what is it? I myself use for rough stuff "Brantho 3in1". I had that on my steel bumper. Destroyed a Hynday i10, from front to back, because she did not see my truck and crossed my back. And 5 years later.... no rust.
Great video! I'm doing the same engine swap into a Y61. Currently in the process of tearing both of them down. Unfortunately, parts are a lot harder to find where I live (Sweden). I was wondering if you are willing to share the CAD file? At least for basing my model on, and adapt to my car. Then I'd be able to fab it up for myself as I have access to a large press brake. It would save me so much headache! Thanks!
Mine is a Razorweld 45 which I think is a rebranded cig from across the pond. If it'd fit that would be greatly appreciated! Send a DM on any of the social media 🤙🤙
Why does a homeless guy have a plasma table ?, and more importantly can we have an episode about cardboard boxes…. Until then, I remain more confused than that John C Reilly meme.

I see what you did there... That's a full tank of puns

I definitely picked up tips for making a tank. Solid effort

looks like great container for an FIA FT3-1999 flexible fuel cell. wouldn't needed to seam weld the whole tank.

Thanks Steve. Will you and Cazz be around for the show?

I've just started watching your channel....and I care about bikes :)
Hopefully you've already found my bike channel then 😏

I wish I knew how to make a fuel tank for a V10 Patrol

Is there a calculation that I do not understand, as I think 1mm would be sufficient. Easier to weld 1.5mm of course.
2 mm is just bloody heavy.

Could you just use a vice to help bend the metal?
Only if it was about 50cm long and a foot deep

Do you have a cig plasma cutter too? If so, I can send you a bunch of consumables that I bought and didn't fit in my cutter, which is not a cigweld.

Nice CAD/welding. Shame you had to do it twice :(
Easier to do it twice than to learn how to weld properly 🥺
