I received an ARC of Love In the Time of Serial Killers and was excited to read it because of the title, the blurb, and the beautiful cover. But I am not even joking when I saw that was one of the WORSE books I have ever read.

OMG i have been waiting for you to upload. I might be late to the water themed books you were into last summer but hear me out! I wanted to recommend you Moti on the Water. It's got great romance, family dynamics, island hopping, and food! It's a book from 2019 but I read it last year knowing next to nothing beforehand but it has become my fave book ever! Hope you get around to reading it ❤

I read a handful of romances over time in life but when 2022 started, it felt like a good way to keep up my habit of reading to have lighthearted and enjoyable reads and now I’m kind of addicted!! I started with Beach Read, then People we Meet on Vacation. Then the Brown sisters trilogy & now I’m reading Song of Achilles. I have more on my list but I’m so happy I have really given the genre another go!

I used to hate romance based on romances I read when I was younger (in the 80s, think Barbara Cartland and other stuff like that). Then about a year ago I started reading some modern romances and my opinion has completely changed. I absolutely get the therapeutic aspect of it because it is what I have been reading when life gets too hard to handle. Thank you for the recs. I can't wait for Book Lovers. 😊

i humbly have to recommend Weather Girl by Rachel Lynn Solomon!! i'm notorious for hating romance but i literally read this in 24 hours and could not stop smiling the whole time :) the protagonist has depression and is very open (at least as a narrator) with how it affects her love life which i've never really seen before
oh, if you're looking for a similar trope with the impact of depression on one's love life, perhaps you should read "everyone in this room will someday be dead" by emily austin. it is not a romance book per se, but there is a lot of that element. and well, the main character is gay.
