Thank you for your reply. Yes I am running a test. RGB then letting Amazon convert to CMYK then another variation where I convert to CMYK first then print. Ty . And yes that makes sense about the pages

This is great information ! Just FYI to change the paper from premium to ultra premium, I didn't have to purchase new ISBN numbers. I just edited the print info and had to re-upload the interior files.

Thank you so much for this review. I want to publish with Ingram Spark but was concerned as my book has images. The Ultra Premium seems like a much-improved option over the Premium. :)

Hi Bethany, great information, could you please elaborate more on why we need a new ISBN if we change the color option. Is it like something specific with Ingramspark?
Since it is technically a different version, it requires a new one. Technically EVERY change should get a new ISBN but that is excessive and isn't necessary but with IngramSpark they will require it since the specifications of the book are changing.

Thanks & love the video! I am struggling with my hardback. I have a 8.5 x 8.5 book, i received my hardback an I have a 1/8 of an inch white line in the gutter ( a lot more than yours had) what format size would I use with bleed? I was using the same manuscript as my print manuscript
I always recommend if it is a consistent issue and not a random error to add 0.25" more on all sides and resubmit. Otherwise, if you already have a bleed set and are still seeing a printing error it may be worth reaching out to IngramSpark

I totally agree! I just received my premium color from Ingram and cannot believe how low-quality it looks. I compared it to my KDP premium and they most definitely are doing a better job than Ingram. Ingram's shipping took way too long compared to KDP as well.
Hi Bethany! Thanks for all the informative and helpful videos. I just recently received a hardcover book from ingramspark and it has 3 empty pages in the front (heavy weight paper than the interior pages). Is that normal? I belive I have the correct pages number.
To me, I would assume the page number is incorrect. Double check to make sure your page count is in a multiple of four minus one. If this is correct then you may need to reach out to IngramSpark support.
Thank you for your response. Can I ask if my pages is incorrect? I have total of 39 illustrated pages and thinking that Ingramspark will add 1 empty blank page at the end for the barcode/printing information which make it to 40 pages. I have no blank pages issues with KDP. Thank you so much!
I use both copanies, and I always upload 40 pages to Ingram with the last page being blank. For kdp I upload 39 pages and they add the 40th page themselves. None of the companies ever add any extra pages if I follow this formula.@@YLYL999
Did you get all hardcover from Ingramspark and paperback from Amazon KDP? I’m trying to find the right trim size for my hardcover book but the options are limited for Amazon KDP😭.

These are all 8.5x8.5, and yes, I use KDP for paperbacks and hardcover with IngramSpark 😁 8.5x8.5 is a great standard size that all platforms have.
Hi Bethany, this is a random question but what will happen if I accidentally sent a wrong pdf to the wrong kindle email address? Will that email be discarded?
I think the Kindle email address you sent to has to put you as an approved sender. Otherwise, it won't send, but I could be wrong. I'm guessing that if you aren't on their approved list, it likely won't send, but this might be a question for KDP support.
Hey Bethany. Thank you! Did you ever have skin color print issues with KDP? I just got my children’s book back and saw pale skin turned out red. I was so upset. It’s nothing like the color from my illustrators images
Also, I’m not sure if I interpreted this correctly. Are IngramSpark interior pages thicker than KDP? I find that KDP is so thin and I paid for the highest priced options on both KDP and IngramSpark. My hardcover from ISpatk hasn’t made it yet that’s why I’m asking . Thank you!
For the skin colors, it seems like the color profile may be off. It may be worth (if you haven't) trying to convert to CMYK first or not converting and letting KDP convert for you. Upon export, also double check that the colors look right in the PDF before uploading. If it was only one copy like that, you may have also hit a printer toner error. Depending on which way might be causing an issue, a bit of experimentation may be needed.
IngramSpark has varying page weights, but their thickest is less than a traditional book but more than KDP if that makes sense.
Do you recommend matte or gloss for a childrens hardcover book with ingramspark?
I use glossy for children's book. It is personal preference but for children's books I think they hold up a bit better and can be wiped clean. I am in love with the matte (it feels really nice) and prefer those for novels. It really depends on your preference and what you are looking for.
Once a book is published can you change the color print option with Ingram?
No, unfortunately you have to go through the entire process (and new ISBN) if republishing your book to update the color option.

Thanks for the video! Just what I needed. I do think you can change the color though with the same ISBN. If it’s an ISBN you bought (Bowker in the US) you can use it with KDP and Ingram and offset so I don’t think you need a new ISBN.
So the ultra premium on Ingram spark has a glossy interior???? Am i seeing this correctly
It isn't "technically" glossy but it is similar to the KDP gloss-appearance which I think looks/feels a bit better than the matte!
