Wow perfect! Glad its gonna be updated
Me too! A lot of small details have changed and I went as in depth as possible this time around to answer FAQs along the way 😁
Thank you for being so clear and helpful!!
Happy to help!
Great step-by-step instruction. Thanks. You explain the process so well..and make it look easy!
Thank you! I hope it helps! ❤😊
Thank you Miss Bethany! I did not know where to start so I literally haven’t touched what I worked on in MONTHS! Ty sooo much for this video!
I'm so glad it can help and get things moving again! 😊
Thank you !!!!!
I'm happy it helped!
@@BethanyStahl I always heard to put “destroy” not “no” so that helps a lot. Preventative focused for future issues
How do you order a physical proof copy before having the book go live?
When the eproof is approved, you can go into your orders (on the left side tab) and it should allow you to place an order for a proof. I can do a video on this as their system is a bit confusing and archaic.
Thanks Bethany :)@@BethanyStahl
Thank you for the video!! Would you recommend Atticus to help format for IngramSpark?
I haven't personally used Atticus, so I can't say. But, for children's books there is a full formatting tutorial with InDesign and for novels I'm creating a series now on how to format a novel. The beauty of self-publishing is that it is all up to you on how to get to the end product :)
Thanks for the video! Do you have any other content or resources that goes into setting up pen names/imprint etc? I'm looking for information on how to keep my real name from being published on anything and would like to exclusively publish under a pen name/ company name. It's a struggle to find resources on that.
I've done it! I don't have a video on it yet but I'd be happy to make some! Long story short you'll want to set up your imprint through Bowker (if you're in the US) when you buy ISBNs and then check with your local government for setting up a fictions name/DBA to operate your business under. It sounds more complicated than it is but I'll add this to my list to make resources for! 😊
Then you can set up IngramSpark with that business information.
@BethanyStahl that would be awesome to see a video on! I'm in the U.S. I think a lot of creative people want to get their creations out there without sharing their real name. So knowing how to set that up would be helpful. For example I know on amazon you can put what ever name you want...but I've seen stories of individuals buying their isbns with their personal info it sounds like and then their full name is out there even if they enter a pen name. So a video topic on how to publish under a pen name and if an llc is necessary would be awesome.
Hi Bethany - i'm halfway through your vid. It's fantastic and detailed - love the sequential format. I see that once you typed in $25 for your price the rest of the currency conversation populated automatically. Mine won't. Any ideas?
just checked and the conversions populated. I guess I just needed to have patience...
Their system can be funky sometimes. I'm glad it worked out!
What are the size preferences for children’s book?
Children's books come in a variety of sizes but I personally prefer and recommend 8.5" x 8.5" 😊
If you have independently purchased the ISBN and want to publish your book on both KDP and Ingramspark, is it mandatory to upload it on both platforms on the same day? What could be the implications of starting on KDP and then delaying uploading on Ingramspark by one month or any other period?
No implications! You can upload to one or the other or either or at any period of time. The freedom is yours 😁
@@BethanyStahl@BethanyStahl Thank you so much.
Hi Bethany , I have uploaded a hardcover book on Ingram, but in the final stage of approval, the book is shown backward, for the front cover, it is showing the back cover and vice versa? The whole book interior is shown backward. Knowing that the same version but paperback was uploaded to KDP. I do not know why? any insights, please
This is very odd and I've never heard of this. My only thought is that perhaps the left to right content box was clicked? I would reach out to IngramSpark support and if your files look correct in your PDF pre-upload, I wonder if you hit a bug in the system that they may be able to help with. Wishing you the best of luck! They are typically pretty responsive to issues.
Is it necessary to order the author copy .. or we can directly publish without that as in kdp.. because i m outside US.. it will be very expensive for me?
It isn't required, but I do recommend it only to verify that it looks as you intended. Sometimes there are slight differences between the eproof and the physical copy. While there may not be a problem, it may be worth the investment to ensure you know the quality that your customers will be receiving. But it is ultimately up to you :)
How do you publish your ingramspark hardcover on KDP?
All books on IngramSpark will show for sale on distributors, such as Amazon. It is automatic 😁
@@BethanyStahl thanks so much for responding! The price on Amazon is $28 even though I set it to $20. Is there anything that can be done about that?
Is it the exact same formating as kdp amazon?
Yes - as long as your page size and settings are the same you can use the same interior files.
@@BethanyStahl what settings do you mean? The bleed?
How much are the fees. I know it asked for my credit or debit card
They have recently waved the publishing fee so it is free at this moment in time. Sometimes they will ask for your card number to have on file to charge for printing fees. When it comes to finances and what they are asking, it may be best to reach out to IngramSpark support and see if they can give you a direct answer to why they need a card and any fees you may personal incur. I hope that helps!
