Wow, that's REALLY generous of him! Not only free, but CC0 (I noticed that right away). Very impressive. I hope he gets some support as he deserves it.
I actually like opening people's UIs because it gives me insight about their work flows. I'd I want to just use assets I usually import them into my own file.
If you don't want the Blender UI to change every time you load a file go to Edit/Preferences/Save & Load. There you can uncheck the load UI box, save preferences and; like me, won't ever have to bother about it again.
Tip: On firefox, if you want to download any of these from google drive then you need to disable advanced tracking protection. Google wants to devour your data after all, and wont allow otherwise.
Hey glad I found the video I've been meaning to make my first game ever and I was just using Kenny's assets because I want to at least try to make a few games with what I can use and get and then mix it up with my own assets.
dang more people should consider with at least some of their art. Funding the public domain is respectable. Who knows how many people in education and beyond are using these. As I'm learning Blender right now, this is totally something that deserves to be paid forward where it applies.
Looks great , can I use the assets for my commercial game I'm creating or is it just for home use ,and can u use it in any engine or is it bound just for blender use ?
He's great, i've been supporing him trought patreon since early 2020, make sure you do aswell, it's very nice of him to share this for free with everyone
I wonder if they'll be seen enough that people recognize them as being free assets, or if it's "hey you stole that from this other game" like I've been starting to see a bit in comment sections, namely with music and pixel art characters.
EVIL, Every Villain Is Lime ; EVIL, Every Villain Is Lemons (SpongeBob SquarePants) ; EVIL, Exceptional Villains in Literature (Grimmtastic Girls; book series). I doon't know, bro. According to this definitions. Quaternius is an evil game designer legend or at least pretty darn close of being evil. (EGDL) He does have the E and L in EviL. ;-)
I am trying to make my first real game and I use Blender but I use Blender 2.7.9 . Recently I started working with this guy that want to use Godot to make a game . Godot looks too cartoony for the game that I want to make . Can I make anything that doesn't look fisher price using Godot . I am thinking it is possible but I am not sure .
Just tried the Modular Dungeon Pack for a look see. No textures that I can see, all just colours in Blender, which is not really very useful overall for non-artists. Also useless for any game engines, unless you spend an age texturing yourself, or baking the colours to an image. Most these free asset packs are similar tbh. Look good in screenshots, but not really super useful really. Some of the others may be better, but not likely to try them.
they are worth something, just like all art is, you just have to sell it the right way, to the right person and often selling for TOO cheap won't gt the stuff sold, because of that, lol, many people take higher price as indicator of better quality, anyone can slap a PNG of a car on the product page, that doesn't mean it's actually a usable model, selling a super realistic car on a game asset store will similarly probably not get that much sales, because you don't want your fps to drop by 10 every time you look at the car, or worse, if the traffic is made up of those, lol
Game ready 3d assets are a ways away, we've had randomly generated levels since before we've had level designers (DnD tables that you can use to randomly generate dungeons just by rolling dice).
There are already ai making 3d models You have to rig them in unity or blender but they're pretty game ready. If you cba to do that then best use your wallet

Mike your a Legend mate. How you find these hidden hacienda's is beyond me but I thank God I'm following you

Yes, it was said in the video though
Quaternius is LEGEND!
Kenney is EVEN MORE LEGEND
All HAIL! HUZZAH!
Cthulu, sing his praise!
this is an awesome resource list! thank you definitely will use them if i can
A valuable collection of resources, especially for small studios which have not a legion of devs creating assets. Thanks!
Best news of this year. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Awesome! Thanks for that info and it was really cool of him to use CC for any games as a developer!
I appreciate that you started by mentioning Kenney as that’s what I think when someone needs assets.
Dude showing how to open a Blend file with default UI just blew my mind!

Oh I was just checking out this guy's stuff. Dude's an asset legend.
It's a real treasure! Thank you!
Ive been using them for long time.
The bad part is it doesnt have texture maps and baking them in blender is cumbersome
Hmmm, I wonder if this person has a yt channel, definitely worth supporting either way.
Very nice stuff. Someone could make a good game out of these.
This is supper sweet, for people like me where making games is just a hobby.
I like Those Stylized 2D Packs, very dope
-8 degrees celsius, damn. That's a cold place you live in.
Thanks for the Load UI tip, I had to uninstall Blender because it was doing annoying things loading files from previous Blender versions.
Looks great , can I use the assets for my commercial game I'm creating or is it just for home use ,and can u use it in any engine or is it bound just for blender use ?
CC0 content is important, support your indy devs and the CC0 community however you can!
He's great, i've been supporing him trought patreon since early 2020, make sure you do aswell, it's very nice of him to share this for free with everyone
THANK YOU for that blender load UI tip! Holy crap I hated that :)

Well it cool. I hope someone would not reused to sell assets that is not theirs. Seen few examples of stolen content and rebrand as their own ways.
So its like Turbosquid?
I am using his Assets RIGHT now in a GameJam, they work rock solid (only the scale is strange, everything is scaled to 100 ?! don t know why)
Thank you - especially for the tip :)
Very cool resource👍🏾
That is a GREAT blender tip. That 'feature' is so annoying!
ho that's cool will check them out
Great stuff! thanks for sharing!
Awesome stuff!
Um, if you open a blender file you can click in the load directory to turn it the users UI.
Nice! Much appreciated!!
Thank you
What does that license mean? You can use it in your commercial games?

Ohhh nice
use obj in 3d builder to resave it in stl files

Would any of these be able to open right into Roblox?
nay...quaternius is known since before kenney become jshoes..
Super
So, I could go ahead and delete Wings 3D now.
🤯😍👍
these all seem very cartoony .
too simple for my taste, but good that they are CC0
3D models are worth nothing these days. You can make the most realistic BMC car model and struggle to sell it for $5
they are worth something, just like all art is, you just have to sell it the right way, to the right person

I don't want to model 3d game assets, I don't want to design my level, A.I should be able to do this for us, I'm still waiting for that day to come.
Game ready 3d assets are a ways away, we've had randomly generated levels since before we've had level designers (DnD tables that you can use to randomly generate dungeons just by rolling dice).
Let's have AI that makes whole games for us
Then an AI that plays those games for us so we don't have to
There are already ai making 3d models
You have to rig them in unity or blender but they're pretty game ready.
If you cba to do that then best use your wallet
@@JM-dq7xn lol
@@JM-dq7xn Yeah.
It will still need some human effort, to upload the video's of that for us to watch.
Quaternius is LEGEND!
