Wow!!!! That’s an AMAZING performance!! I was an adult with a toddler when I saw the movie and got so emotional I teared up when Roger Bart sang this as young Hercules. The words, music, and lyrics were just perfect. It made me cry. I remember what it was like to be a teenager trying to figure it all out and having some rough times. That’s the magic of performance… even for an animated character. It can really make you feel and remind you you’re human. And every time I hear the song I remember the first time I heard it and how I felt. Thank you Roger.
That was amazing. Unfortunately, and it’s just the way it is I suppose depending how often you sing and for how many years, but a lot of famous Disney singers don’t always sound as good years later. But he’s still got it!! That was great, and he held out all the long notes!!
after watching desperate housewives and “googling” all the cast in it (cause i’m so obsessed/fan of that show) I stumbled to one of my favorite song just knowing after 31 years of existence that it was sung by george in DH! (shocked with excitement!) great actor by the way!
One of my all time Disney songs, only when Roger sings it. I was gutted they had someone else sing 'Go The Distance' for their 'Happily Ever After' fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. Why? He has the most wonderful voice.
I recently rediscovered this song. This song helped me through all the stuff I went through during high school/ college years when the #Hercules film came out. I prefer this version over the pop version. Thanks Mr. Bart!
Everyone's saying how amazing he is in one show or another...but I haven't seen anyone mention The Producers yet! He's sooo good! Love that show/movie! ❤️
Go the distance Great Job Roger bart great Disney journey adventure song Hercules the Main Charcter guy is willing to do anything to do what he needs to do and get it done so Hercules can be a good hero Love this good song oh yeah!!! 😊👍🎵
I'm ashamed to say I often forget that the actors who voice the Disney characters I grew up with are often not the same ones singing the classic songs. I know Roger Bart for The Producers and bit roles like American Gangster and Harold & Kumar. I never realized he sang this song, it's such a great one and he's tremendous even years later!
He also played Snoopy in You're A Good man Charlie Brown. I can hear a bit of Snoopy here. Yes, some of you will think it's appropriate you think he's a dog but I don't care about ones personal life. Unless he committed a crime, it doesn't concern me. We all have our flaws and faults. He's still a great talent and that is all I care about. Thank you Mr Menken!
I can understand what the casting director must have felt when deciding he was the right singer for this role. That aspiration that comes with the lyrics. I felt it when I was 11, watching the Disney movie. I feel it watching this too!!
This is such an underrated Disney song and this man does not get the adoration he deserves like the other Disney singers, seems to be with males in general but at least the Aladdin singer got a bit more acknowledgment. This is up there with Part of the World, Colors of the World, Frozen, How Far I'll Go, A Whole New World
I just found out it was him I thought it was like a 17 or even 21 year old, he was like 35 when he recorded it wow❤ I'm currently binging Disney song and decided to look up "Roger Bart"
This is my favorite song on the soundtrack, and the entire soundtrack was awesome. So that tells you how good it was. Preferred it to Michael Bolton's version, and usually the end songs are better than the versions they use in the movies.
If I was there, I would’ve thrown flowers at this guy👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Hahah.. Im sure he would have loved it!
He sounds no different!!!! It's crazy!!!!! He has a wonderful voice!!! My favorite song in the WHOLE movie!!!!
This is not how Hercules sounds they clearly pitches his voice or something
I couldn't believe it when i found out it was him who sang this
I know! I've loved him for so long, but I had no idea he sang as young Hercules!
It completely blew my mind!
Dude when I finally looked him up recently and saw his face the only movie I remembered him from was Hostel part 2. Could not believe it
Golden voice! ❤
We agree!
It's July 2024. Rewatching this because IT IS AMAZING
Same! Glad you like! Thanks for watching!
I had no idea he could sing and that he was the singing voice for Hercules! That is so awesome!
Watching this as my son is watching the movie and this made me tear up! You can hardly tell the difference between this performance and the movie! ❤
Just WOW!!!! Not very many singers can sound the same or better than their much younger years and he does!!!! He’s amazing!!!!

this song motivated me so much when I was younger, still does to this day nearly 20 years later.. still love it
Music heals!!!!
@@AcademyMusicForBlind I’ve never heard that said so succinctly and beautifully. It does. Thank you! ❤
"my fave song especially during finals!"... that was me!!! lol thanks Alan Menken and Roger xxx
Absolute legend!
We think so too!
There's barely a difference between his voice in the original and this performance :D
I don't think there's a difference AT ALL.
WAY underrated actor!!! He gave one of the best performances in Desperate Housewives!
HIS VOICE AGED LIKE FINE WINE!!
Damn that’s impressive, I’m shook because he’s a character in the show A Series Of Unfortunate Events
NERO!!
Nero should try singing instead of that dn violin.
The inspiration of my childhood now has a face!!! Endless thanks for keeping alive my inner child in the darkest hours!
That was amazing. Unfortunately, and it’s just the way it is I suppose depending how often you sing and for how many years, but a lot of famous Disney singers don’t always sound as good years later.

Roger Bart - Hercules, Susan Egan - Megara, Jodi Benson - Ariel, Judy Kuhn - Pocahontas.... they are my favourite

I know! Couldn't believe he was the voice of singing Hercules. Outstanding!

This song always gives me goosebumps
Chill every time!
I was this day old when I found out Bart sang this. Holy smokes.
and he literally sang the best parts in this truncated version, beaslty voice. bless his heart
Brilliant ❤
I recently rediscovered this song. This song helped me through all the stuff I went through during high school/ college years when the #Hercules film came out. I prefer this version over the pop version. Thanks Mr. Bart!
I loved!! This has always been one of my favorite Disney songs, has so much heart! His voice is still wonderful! :)
Just watched him play doc brown in West ends back to the future the musical and.he is still so talented ❤️
Anyone know him as Vice Principal Nero from Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events??
I am SHOOK. You hear me. SHOOK. How is this possible?
Yepp, still sounds like a 14 year old singing 20+ years later 😅😅😅
LOL
Ok it's not just me
Nah bro
He was already 35 when he first recorded the song
GREAT SCOTT!!!!!!
I loved him in Stepford Wives❤
Same!!!
I can’t believe this is the guy who plays Vice Principal Nero in ASOUE. What an excellent voice he has!
He played in hostile too like damn
"Where I beloooooooooooooooooooooong" okay he's a demigod.
He held it out alot longer in the original song a fricken minute.
I’ve watched Desperate Housewives and Good Trouble and never knew this whole time he sang as Hercules!
A blessing to always learn new fun facts!
Wow, he nailed it!
My favorite Disney song. ❤
Same here.
Everyone's saying how amazing he is in one show or another...but I haven't seen anyone mention The Producers yet! He's sooo good! Love that show/movie! ❤️
He's my favorite in the producers 🥰
That is where I 1st discovered him and then discovered how hard this man has worked over the years
This song will never feel as innocent after hearing him shout "I am f***ing Hercules! " in Hostel: part II
BEnTrapt4evr 😂 KO
LMAO 😂😂
Lmfao what?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I need to rewatch that hahah
Now I'm gonna have to rewatch it with a friend tho, Hostel effed me up when I watched it as a kid💯😂😂😂
Apparently, he may be playing Hades in the Broadway version.
klausweasley it’s been confirmed. The list just came out!
Wow, coming full circle
Its' true! I saw him play it in New York at Central Park!
Amazing song
I didn’t know this is who sang it! I love him and I’ve always loved this song
That was beautiful. He sounds exactly like he did in the movie!
Wow still spot on after all this time well done!!
il never forget this....
Been listening to him since '97?????!!
Loved his acting skills from desperate housewives. Only found out he sang one of my all time favourite songs in Hercules 😮👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I almost cried at the end. So perfect.
Go the distance Great Job Roger bart great Disney journey adventure song Hercules the Main Charcter guy is willing to do anything to do what he needs to do and get it done so Hercules can be a good hero Love this good song oh yeah!!! 😊👍🎵
Where is he hiding that lung capacity? Holy cats, that last note! *Throws laurel wreaths*
Omg I'm shook at how dynamic he is. All this time I just thought he was Weasel from The Lost Room.
Ahhh another Lost Room fan! Love the Weasel.
He was great in Hostel 2
I'm ashamed to say I often forget that the actors who voice the Disney characters I grew up with are often not the same ones singing the classic songs. I know Roger Bart for The Producers and bit roles like American Gangster and Harold & Kumar. I never realized he sang this song, it's such a great one and he's tremendous even years later!
They seemed to have been changing that - Frozen, Moana, Coco(Pixar) for example
Strange how he can provide the singing for a young demigod and then get his balls cut off and fed to a dog in the next film.
Such a beautiful voice !
He was in Hostel Part 2.. I didn’t know it was him who sang this song in the movie. The man behind Hercules.
That was definitely the first movie I noticed him in, can’t believe he sang this song!
Magic!
Amazing 😊😅❤
I only knew him from The Producers. I could not believe it was him for Hercules!! 🤯
Golden!
wow! incredible talent!
I can understand what the casting director must have felt when deciding he was the right singer for this role. That aspiration that comes with the lyrics. I felt it when I was 11, watching the Disney movie. I feel it watching this too!!
How dis he know i listen to this song every time finals are around the corner
Roger Bart is terrific in everything he does!
This is such an underrated Disney song and this man does not get the adoration he deserves like the other Disney singers, seems to be with males in general but at least the Aladdin singer got a bit more acknowledgment. This is up there with Part of the World, Colors of the World, Frozen, How Far I'll Go, A Whole New World
I first saw him on Desperate Housewives. 💀 imagine my shock
Same!!
Remember when he was torturing people to death in Hostel? Lol
Wait.. What? (Goes back and watches Hostel).. :)
1:49 for start
Us 90’s kids go the best of the animated Disney movies 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Sharene Gregory lmaoooooo that’s all I can think of when I see him... creepy pharmacist 😂😂
Emily Armstrong oh my god, I was JUST about to write that in the comments 😂
noah fo 11 forshey it’s so crazy that no one remembers Desperate Housewives 😭
What about Harold and Kumar Escape from Guntanamo Bay
Midnight meat train
It's impressive that he sings I had no idea all I can see is Stuart from Hostel: Part II since he played that character.
This guys rules
clap clap!
My FAVOURITE dsney song by any distance! Takes me back to a wonderful place in my life 🥰 sounded better in the movie though, ha
As a 1990s baby I thought this was Matthew Broderick. Wow I was so wrong!
Haha.. The more you know!
1:45 Did he just say "It is really short, so don't blink" before singing for the Academy of Music for the Blind???? LOL
I always preferred his version to Michael Boltons.Great singer. I used to sing this song to my son to put him to sleep.
We love both. But hope the little one slept tight :)
Thé moment you find out the camp director’s assistant from the producers was the singing voice of Hercules....mind blown......
I have listened it approximatly 1000 times while writing my thesis...
I personally didn't believe it until I heard it came out of his mouth
Haha.
This is hilarious! I'm actually watching this as I'm studying for a final that I have to take tomorrow!
Muito bom!
THE ORIGINAL AND BEST
Awesome voice. Awesome song. And yeah I'm watching this cause I saw Trisha watch it on snapchat lol. Still great tho
Same!
+Brittany Rachelle same omg
Ive discovered my fave disney male so song
I am watching Hercules right now and he sounds the exact same!
Great intonation
His singing is not bad. I remember seeing him in the musical film, the producers. He portrayed Carmen, an assistant to roger de buris
I just found out it was him I thought it was like a 17 or even 21 year old, he was like 35 when he recorded it wow❤ I'm currently binging Disney song and decided to look up "Roger Bart"
Why am I crying?
I didn’t know it was him in the movie until like two fucking days ago. How did I not know?
Going to watch Hostel 2 after this 👍
Still my favorite song among all Disney movies.
This is my favorite song on the soundtrack, and the entire soundtrack was awesome. So that tells you how good it was. Preferred it to Michael Bolton's version, and usually the end songs are better than the versions they use in the movies.
one of my favorite songs in this movie and a Disney movie. just realized he’s the same guy from the movie Hostile...but his voice is so amazing.
Loveeeee
I was today years old when I learned Hercules murdered Rex Van de Camp! wild!
Wow! Just learning now that the dude from Desperate Housewives is Hercules' singing voice.
Shame this recording is so bad. Are there any better quality recordings of this performance?
Not of this performance but it is good on spotify :)
He rushed this performance not to mention cut out half the song, really seems like he wasn't into it. Surprising how well he did tho despite the fact.
@@jeffreyrutka2156 I know this is from like a year ago, but I just wanted to say the movie version of the song is really short.
"I'm spencer elliott lewis like michaelbolton version keeper but I am still alive and well as you!
This is cool he was in Hostel 2 and Harold and Kumar 2.
