Very true, the cellphone hadn't made its debut to disrupt humanity as it has done now, so humanity lived as was designed, joyous, funny and happy to interact with one another face to face, not behind glass screens, share emotion by touch, not emoji... 46 years later, society has frayed so much, the America depicted here no longer exists.
Match Game is on several times a day on the Game Show Network, it's as if they are all frozen in time. The only one I can think of who is still alive from the original Match Game is Betty White.

Brett Somers is well before my time, but I love wathcing game show fails and she's popped on a few times and is always funny. This lady would still thrive if she were alive in today's world.
I swear that this show was just for entertainment. Dawson was the most consistent celebrity with matching answers. Reiley wasn't too far off but, he had his bad days. Somers got to the point where she didn't give a damn about helping the contestants win any money. She would give a bad answer using up to four cards to make her look like she's desperate to be funny. It got to the point that I couldn't stand her.The only reason that she landed on the show was due to Jack Klugman, the actor that could only express one emotion, anger, talked the producer into putting her on the show! The worst panelists would always occupy seats one , four, and six. These, also, would be actors or comedians that cared more about being glib than helping the contestants win any money. Before anyone says, why did you watch it, because my wife liked the show and I wanted to be with her!

The panelist and Gene explain that in another documentary that's here on you tube. Anyone just had to have watched the show to realize the line up, though.
Everyone loved what they were doing and respected each other. Such a great show
Gene Rayburn was the best no one came close !
Match Game was the best game show ever.
Elaine was a living doll!
MeTaz she had a cute husband too. I saw them on a show tattletales on the buzz channel.
These old show people h ave fun its nice to see people can laugh and enjoyed life
Very true, the cellphone hadn't made its debut to disrupt humanity as it has done now, so humanity lived as was designed, joyous, funny and happy to interact with one another face to face, not behind glass screens, share emotion by touch, not emoji... 46 years later, society has frayed so much, the America depicted here no longer exists.
Match Game is on several times a day on the Game Show Network, it's as if they are all frozen in time. The only one I can think of who is still alive from the original Match Game is Betty White.
Don't forget about Fannie Flagg and Joyce Bulifant! 😊
Fannie still writes too. I wasn't old enough to remember the match game, but I remember Fannie Flagg wrote Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe (the book), which is one of my favorite movies.
And we just lost the First Lady of Entertainment, Betty White, too. Love you Sue Ann!
Thank goodness this show happened when it did. In today's "woke" culture it never would have aired.
Moishie the new one is an atrocious attempt to be like the original. Its practically scripted, It’s a matter of time before it’s canceled.
That's why it's fun to watch. People didn't try to control the lives of others back then.
@@okeekonokee5282 I loved watching this in the 70s w/my mom, even tho as a kid much went over my head, but cant imagine it would be very good now a days. Every question/answer would have to be politically correct or god forbid you said something mildly inappropriate. You may just get arrested😉!!
Agreed. Though sometimes there are cringey moments that make me uncomfortable....like men staring and talking about my breasts. But for the most part, I like that about this show too.
It was a really good show and I enjoyed every episode. It defined the word fun.
Brett Somers is well before my time, but I love wathcing game show fails and she's popped on a few times and is always funny. This lady would still thrive if she were alive in today's world.
Gotta have Betty White do an interview on just Match Game. Easily two hours+ material worth watching.
Station wagon missing its seat covers. LOL
Funny and classic I still watch it!
I loved the way she could laugh at herself, joyous.
I love all the cast match game had, especially Brett&Charles.
Love her too. Never got the credit she deserved.
Did she reciprocate by watching sports with you? 😊
@@oldiesgeek454 She didn't have to. The only sport that we both like is bowling. In fact, after over 42 years of marriage, the only thing that she didn't care for was ,"The Walking Dead". She would watch something else while I watched it until they started killing each other instead of walkers. That's when I quit watching. If I want to see man's inhumanity to man, I'll watch the evening news.
@@fiddlefaddle1 lol... I used to watch the old PBA bowling in the 1970s on Saturday afternoons.
@@oldiesgeek454 the only time I ever saw bowling on TV was on ABC's Wide World of Sports the thrill of Agony and the victory of defeat
Great show. I just recently started watching it.
Greatest game show theme song of all time!

My all-time favorite game show followed by Hollywood Squares. Guaranteed to make one laugh.
I have always loved watching Match Game.
Gene was 6’1”, so Ira must have been 6’6”.
Charles was 6'-2". With his toupee he must have been at least 6'-4"
I chuckle so much when I watch this show.
