this game is awesome, for those who hate the VA, if you happen to have a modded wii there are hacked versions that have the original japanese audio with english text, I love this game :)
One of my favorites on the wii, and this song is one of my favorite OST's as well, in fact it was around the second of third time I heard it in game that I knew Arc Rise Fantasia had become a favorite of mine.
Walking to the Ravine and see an inappropriately placed "flower". Proceeding to go stomp it back in the dirt. This music starts to play. Solarbeams everywhere. Dear god....
I might not care for the voice acting or the story (especially not the story, honestly) as much I just enjoy the gameplay and music, but I must say, I love Arc Rise's music, and this boss theme is in my top favorite RPG boss themes.
@3LancePro @SilverWinVulpin21 Not only that, but it's used when you come across enemies that look a lot like the other enemies in the area (just colored differently), but are actually stronger than they appear. They usually drop an accessory or weapon!
some of the voice acting is so bad its hilarious especially at the beginning of the game . it started to make me think the game was going to be bad but it wasn't . This game was excellent.
@SliverWindVulpin21 It's not really a boss theme. It's used against enemies and fights that are a lot stronger than normal ones, and you wouldn't know this until you engage them. So it is kinda, "unexpected".
dragonrooster94 Second this. The English voice actors are so bland, forgettable and boring (barring the exception of a few lines here and there). Definitely play with Japanese voices and English text, you won't regret it.
@LatiasDita Of course, if you can survive the less than stallar VA, Arc Rise Fantasia is one heck of a JRPG. Bosses can be downright brutal, and despite what they say in pro reviews, grinding isn't gonna get you anywhere.
@GhostOfRazgiz I have never played a JRPG where they put so much emphasis on buff spells for boss fights. If you don't buff yourself and debuff the boss, it's a wipe! The only other RPG that comes to my mind that gives that much importance to party buffs is WoW!
I'll admit, it's a good boss battle music, but the thing about this is, why is called Unexpected Fight, when it pretty much goes without saying that they ARE going face off against a boss? the name could have been changed for the better.
My perception of the story is colored by the awkward localized script. The characters are somewhat under-characterized and the plot meanders a little, but overall, I think it's pretty good. It's neat that there isn't a single main villain, a rarity in video games. It also explores ideas of why people create religions.
awkward script? Is there localizing issues with ARF? The main villains do appear, I mean, you met both representuals of Real & Imaginal, or do you mean there's more then one villain?
Cmon the story isnt that bad. At least they kept it interesting with the many twists and turns in the story. And ill agree with ya they couldve done a better job on some of the voice acting.
This game had a incredible potential, but the poor voice actors, and sometimes repetitive gamepla made it a gamble to players who loves rpgs, I enjoyed a lot this game
@LatiasDita All but one VA will grow on you eventually. Heck, 5 hours into the game and I'm already used to their voices. The ONLY one I can't stand is Adelle's btichy voice, damn that's just bad throughout the whole game =.='
The story is not bad, It kept me hanged, but the characters are so idiotic that you end up dumping the game just so you don't have to hear them anymore.
If this game didn't have such an epic soundtrack to compensate for the games terrible voice acting and story than It would be on top 3 worst games of all time....okay not top 3 but somewhere at the top 10
Top 10 of all time? There are some MAJORLY bad games out there, Arc Rise is nowhere near their scale, regardless of its voice acting. Hell it's probably not even top 10 worst RPG, especially when games like Chaos Wars and Enchanted Arms exist.
Erick Ochoa Its not even a bad rpg gameplay wise. But the god awful voice acting it was just so bad. this game probably would have done better without it, But I've seen 12 year olds do a more convincing act, and the plot made absolutely no sense and I lost interest in the games plot half way through.
Erick Ochoa Not even. I haven't played Star Ocean 4, but it's something of an exception along with ARF. Most voice acting in RPGs that have it is actually quite competent, and have been for many years now. Much of this is do to the voice actors being based in California. Most of them are talented and experienced, though the trade-off is that you'll be sure to hear a lot of familiar voices whether your play Fire Emblem: Awakening, Baten Kaitos Origins, Luminous Arc 2, or Tales of Symphonia. Personally, I'd rather have to hear Wendee Lee voice her 400th character than have to heard people who are clearly not native English speaker try to voice a character speaking English. :P
This game was a very bad copy of Tales of Vesperia, which is my favorite game on that gen. It's hard for me to like the game, but this song is pretty good.
Battle system is awesome, magic system is awesome, the weapons and the Arm Force system were great, the music was pretty good. But the story and the voice acting? Total shit. At least I got most of my money's worth.
油断はできないな…
This song is so good, even though i hold just one bitter memory on one specific boss...
Wish this game would be touched up and brought to modern platforms with redone voice work.
I've played a lot of RPG but i have to admit, this is one of my all-time favourite boss battle theme. Period.
懐かしい😭😭
カーソル入力の音も脳内再現される
I never forget this game masterpiece !!!
arc rise, making boss battles challenging with no regard to your level what so ever XD, had a blast fighting them last summons lol
must answer my calling
El Mundo Del RPG Latino Let's go all out!
How should we shoot em up?
Ready for battle!
Ah, yes... the "OH SHIT HOW MANY HEALTH POTIONS DO I HAVE? ONLY 8? NOOOOO--" music.
I was so happy when this showed up in the first boss battle, even though I kept on getting my ass handed to me the whole battle
I've got a bad feeling about this.
懐かしき隠れた名作
Be thankful that this great boss music. You'll be hearing it a lot since the boss fights are so tough.
This the best mini boss theme ever.
Its a sad world when someone claims poor voice acting as a reason for a game being bad. This game was great outside the wonky voice acting
My point, always
While I agree, to be fair, it is really bad.
And if you're using emulation or a modded wii with a rom you can just play the undub version.
@@lens_hunter most of the voice acting is fine. I think L'arc and Ryfia get way too much hate
It’s not bad to the point of saying the game is awful. One of the best RPG’s on the wii next to Xenoblade
this game is awesome, for those who hate the VA, if you happen to have a modded wii there are hacked versions that have the original japanese audio with english text, I love this game :)
The excellent storyline, well-crafted battle system and amazing soundtrack make this a hard game to forget.
Me: -running around, trying to find a defenseless animal to crush, finds one, goes into battle-
This song: -plays-
Me: OH SHIT NO
とてもかっこいい音楽です。
もちろん, すごいですね
I call this game surprisingly NOT cliche i loved it ! even more then i tougth i would
This theme is awesome
DYNOS'S THEME YEAH OAO!!!
And mini bosses too but, he got it first XD
Love this game even if other people, hates it
I'm playing it now and I kind of enjoy it.
Roger Clamsave Lucky! My cd was scratched up so it can't read anymore...
vesperiamaster that's really bad luck :(
Aside from some bad voice acting in certain parts, I love this game
One of my favorites on the wii, and this song is one of my favorite OST's as well, in fact it was around the second of third time I heard it in game that I knew Arc Rise Fantasia had become a favorite of mine.
Goosebumps.
This is my favorite boss battle theme :D
I love the music from this game.
Walking to the Ravine and see an inappropriately placed "flower". Proceeding to go stomp it back in the dirt. This music starts to play. Solarbeams everywhere. Dear god....
This game's music is so awsome!
best boss music ever. it pumps me up :)
Unexpected fight is awesome
Unexpected Fight is awesome
I haven't played this game in so long.
This song still hurts
I might not care for the voice acting or the story (especially not the story, honestly) as much I just enjoy the gameplay and music, but I must say, I love Arc Rise's music, and this boss theme is in my top favorite RPG boss themes.
This is awesome
Holy God this song is awesome :O this decides it when I have the money I am so buying this game.
Great picture
i know that feel bro that stupid flower... since that day i learned to not judge an enemy by the look
Awesome guitar solo
@LatiasDita I'd say it ranges from atrocious to "oh god please stop or I will die from laughter"
the best boss battle theme evvvvver
this song is just EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!
When the battle gets super tough... You start to panic cuz cecelia's down 😂
dis is 1 ov my favs =D
@3LancePro @SilverWinVulpin21 Not only that, but it's used when you come across enemies that look a lot like the other enemies in the area (just colored differently), but are actually stronger than they appear. They usually drop an accessory or weapon!

私は誰かがいつかこのゲームの続編を公開したいです。
I need to finish this game
NICE!
Got a bad feeling about this
I feel danger approching
@@deandrewatson730 something is amiss be aware
this game is amazing....... as long as you play it undubbed
dragonrooster94 Second this. The English voice actors are so bland, forgettable and boring (barring the exception of a few lines here and there). Definitely play with Japanese voices and English text, you won't regret it.

I have WA 4, I love there music. :3
It's do or die! -l'larc
Nanda koitsu wa?!
Same here!
Try Final Fantasy XIII boss battle theme, I know this is far away but I like it, gets me pumped xD.
@GhostOfRazgiz I have never played a JRPG where they put so much emphasis on buff spells for boss fights. If you don't buff yourself and debuff the boss, it's a wipe!

So I haven't touched this game in a while and forgot the majority. I know the VA was shit, but I had it undubbed.
How was the story itself, though?
My perception of the story is colored by the awkward localized script. The characters are somewhat under-characterized and the plot meanders a little, but overall, I think it's pretty good. KILLIN' YOU DEAD - L'Arc
@Malzzel That is totally what I meant, but ok. xD
those who are born in sin come forth in the name of chaos
0:06 to 0:26 is my favorite part :D
Well, I never finished WA3...I can't finish the rough tall guy, whatever. I might find WA5....Depending. (Yeah, I guess.)
@3LancePro Oh, my bad. xD
Someone make a guitar tab!!!!!!!!!!!11
It's called "If you don't like english VA, then play the game or watch the anime.
Why did I ever put this game on the back burner? I need to go back and finish it, bad English voices or not.
eat this
lmao@marias voice
Cmon the story isnt that bad. At least they kept it interesting with the many twists and turns in the story. And ill agree with ya they couldve done a better job on some of the voice acting.
This game had a incredible potential, but the poor voice actors, and sometimes repetitive gamepla made it a gamble to players who loves rpgs, I enjoyed a lot this game
the game was not bad, actually a good game by jrpg standards, just a fked up dub. but it made the game funny and memorable
LARK
@LatiasDita All but one VA will grow on you eventually. Heck, 5 hours into the game and I'm already used to their voices. The ONLY one I can't stand is Adelle's btichy voice, damn that's just bad throughout the whole game =.='
I loved this game, then my friend invited me over and we played Tales of Vesperia. It's like literally the same game.
lherrebout what. no.
This game was made by many of the people who worked on tales of symphonia, so it does have some similarities with the tales of series
The story is not bad, It kept me hanged, but the characters are so idiotic that you end up dumping the game just so you don't have to hear them anymore.
Until the game reminded you it had an horrible english cast when "Maria" spoke
its an excellent RPG just the voices don't fit the characters.
I should warn you that the voice acting ranges from meh to atrocious...If you don't like bad VA, you may want to turn them off. :P
If this game didn't have such an epic soundtrack to compensate for the games terrible voice acting and story than It would be on top 3 worst games of all time....okay not top 3 but somewhere at the top 10

Wasn't great VA true, but that's fairly standard for non-AAA RPGs. You get used to it, at least you didn't play through Star Ocean 4
Erick Ochoa Not even. I haven't played Star Ocean 4, but it's something of an exception along with ARF. Most voice acting in RPGs that have it is actually quite competent, and have been for many years now. Much of this is do to the voice actors being based in California. It's not just the soundtrack that is commendable, you know ...
The bosses were VERY engaging and extremely satisfying to defeat.
This game was a very bad copy of Tales of Vesperia, which is my favorite game on that gen. It's hard for me to like the game, but this song is pretty good.
matheusps92 How the fuck is this game a copy of Vesperia, of all things?
it's more Tales of Symphonia-esque if any, cuz the developers of said game, many of them, worked on ARF, also Serge = Zelos.
Battle system is awesome, magic system is awesome, the weapons and the Arm Force system were great, the music was pretty good.
But the story and the voice acting?
Total shit.
At least I got most of my money's worth.
"Ah don't wanna diiiie! Help meee Mr. L'arc!"
