  • Former Broward sheriff's deputy, Raymond Hicks, detailed his challenging upbringing in this VladTV interview. Born and raised in one of Broward County's most dangerous areas, Franklin Park, Hicks recounts instances of illegal activities, including drug transactions, killings, robberies, and burglaries, occurring on a regular basis. Despite his experiences, he eventually became a decorated member of law enforcement for the Broward County Sheriff's Office. However, after discovering and reporting corruption within the department, Hicks' former co-workers retaliated against him in a number of ways, which included multiple arrests and being placed in general population with inmates he arrested. To hear more, check out the full interview above.

My name is Patrice Hicks, and I am Raymond's wife. I want to say thank you to Mark Laita for allowing us to speak our truth. Raymond and I met in college (MSSU) we've been together for over 37 years. Raymond is not that person that BSO has portrayed him to be, he has always been a great son, husband, brother, provider, role model, I could go on and on. What I'm trying to say is if Raymond had done any of the things that he was accused of doing I would know. He's a giver, he'll literally give you the shirt off his back. Thank you to all the positive comments and encouraging words

With everything y’all have went through i really do pray for the best for you guys and it’s a lil sad that our generation aren’t made like this.. not all but mostly wouldn’t last💯what really touched my heart is…I always been a Ray Hicks kind of guy. I have graduated high school and only a few out of 13 siblings of mine. I’ve always want to help not just others, my family too. Whenever they needed something, i always look out because it’s nothing when you love them. But in this case it’s the opposite, I have also caused problems of my own and gotten in trouble wit law due to those ppl around me. I was already dealing with personal things but it had took a toll out of me because I was starting to believe that other than my mom ofc, but I was believing that I dont have life support, love support. Mostly everyone in my family and friends I had grew up….I only got one good friend, the rest either on drugs, went to prison, some of them weren’t just good people who I thought they were. When I’ve watched just one of your husbands interviews, I was touched an started tearing up because….nothing but a great man and wish they are more like him. And really because of him i really want to change my life and impact others and kids as well so they don’t end up like me.

This man remind me of my father retired from the sheriff department after 20years only to die early from the mental strain he saw from that job it killed his perspective of life to know how high up corruption goes and that does alot to a man who lived his life never smoked a cigarette never had a drink and hitchhiked 4years back and forth to college dedicated his life to doing the right thing only to see it’s all a gimmick he retired early and died not to long after r.i.p pops

Raymo4r4rnd is one of the realest most honorable and selfless individuals I have ever known. I had the privilege of growing up with Raymond in r44 Gifford Florida and I have had him come to my aid when I was being bullied. It is no surprise that he is standing up to the biggest bullies BSO. I have had the privilege of being his oldest daughter's 7th grade teacher and it was Raymond that was my character reference to enable me to enter Broward schools as a teacher. As a result I am still educating young minds here in Broward county and this would not be possible had Raymond not come to my aid as I was facing termination as a teacher over 20 years I'll go. Thank you Raymond I am changing lives for the better and you are a major reason why

But 23+ years in this business I can say that I have seen every word of what he is saying manifest itself as ABSOLUTE TRUTH! Corruption is rampant in law enforcement. Lovely Me,
Thank you so much for your heartfelt words and support. The Broward Sheriff’s Office tried their best to ruin his reputation and destroy his life. Raymond and I met at college in 1984. we became best of friends. We been married for 37 years and together for 39 years. If my husband was committing criminal acts I would be the first to know about it. It's a shame and disgrace how the Broward Sheriff's Deputies and supervisors treat my family. My kids were 12, 7, and 4 years old as they watched their father be dragged out in handcuffs and Shackles. Raymond really loved his job. We lost everything home, cars repossessed, finances depleted and credit destroyed. Raymond and i have met people in the street who were Incarcerated and they said Mrs. Hicks I changed my life because of your husband he is a great man. How many former inmates would say that about police officers are Deputy Sheriff. Thank you all for your comments it really helps. God bless Patrice Hicks

Ripped at my heart. I truly hope he gets justice. So humbles he is. This is NOT the first police department to do such atrocities to innocent employees. These are the people who we all call to help us and these are the very same people who turned his life into chaos. Why? Just because and that’s the worst. Yes, he is very caring.
