- Former Broward sheriff's deputy, Raymond Hicks, detailed his challenging upbringing in this VladTV interview. Born and raised in one of Broward County's most dangerous areas, Franklin Park, Hicks recounts instances of illegal activities, including drug transactions, killings, robberies, and burglaries, occurring on a regular basis. Despite his experiences, he eventually became a decorated member of law enforcement for the Broward County Sheriff's Office. However, after discovering and reporting corruption within the department, Hicks' former co-workers retaliated against him in a number of ways, which included multiple arrests and being placed in general population with inmates he arrested. To hear more, check out the full interview above.

My name is Patrice Hicks, and I am Raymond's wife. I want to say thank you to Mark Laita for allowing us to speak our truth. Raymond and I met in college (MSSU) we've been together for over 37 years. Raymond is not that person that BSO has portrayed him to be, he has always been a great son, husband, brother, provider, role model, I could go on and on. What I'm trying to say is if Raymond had done any of the things that he was accused of doing I would know. He's a giver, he'll literally give you the shirt off his back. Thank you to all the positive comments and encouraging words
❤ Your all in my prayers 😢 your husband is truly inspiring and ur family is in my thoughts and prayers.
I pray you and your family get justice, that mess was wrong. Corruption at its finest!!
With everything y’all have went through i really do pray for the best for you guys and it’s a lil sad that our generation aren’t made like this.. not all but mostly wouldn’t last💯what really touched my heart is…I always been a Ray Hicks kind of guy. I have graduated high school and only a few out of 13 siblings of mine. I’ve always want to help not just others, my family too. Whenever they needed something, i always look out because it’s nothing when you love them. But in this case it’s the opposite, I have also caused problems of my own and gotten in trouble wit law due to those ppl around me. I was already dealing with personal things but it had took a toll out of me because I was starting to believe that other than my mom ofc, but I was believing that I dont have life support, love support. Mostly everyone in my family and friends I had grew up….I only got one good friend, the rest either on drugs, went to prison, some of them weren’t just good people who I thought they were. When I’ve watched just one of your husbands interviews, I was touched an started tearing up because….nothing but a great man and wish they are more like him. And really because of him i really want to change my life and impact others and kids as well so they don’t end up like me.
🙏🏿💚
U'll always be in my prayers
50 cent needs to make this a series
😂
You can just hear the hurt and feel the suppressed anger when he speaks about what he went through. Glad he’s in a better place now and hope him and his family are doing well.

I love how he can express his story without cussing! This whole story is absolutely absurd what happened to him! Glad he made it this far surviving his fight and to have genuine loved ones in his corner is the most beautiful part! Praying the truth comes out and he wins his fight proving his innocence!!!!
Is it cussing or cursing

Cavario?
This is a man that only ever saw bad things and he just wanted to make a difference ... You can tell he's a good man and even though I've had run ins with law I understand that good police like him are needed for the civilians
God bless y’all I live in Broward pompano to be exact I been in the system also I can only imagine the betrayal from the law that’s supposed to protect and serve
Im related to this guy by marriage! When he talks about the uncle we share (Uncle Randolph)and his family poor education & ruthless.. Soooo true!!! It was tough in Gifford!! So blessed to make it out 🙏🏿
Let this kind soul know how appreciated and loved he is by us viewers, truly a travesty what he was put through
Where tf is Gifford ???
😯
My dad lived in Vero Beach with and aunt and hung in Gifford we went through there and I saw there's nothing but space and opportunity for crime and positively nothing else 😔

I wish more officers thought and acted the way this man do.
Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I’ll be laying in bed shedding real tears about a cop 😢 this sh*T is sickening💪🏾👏🏾
😅😂
This poor dude actually sits and still defends police officers. Crazy this guy deserves everything he ever wanted
WILLY LYNCH SYMPTOMS
I pray that this man gets justice and compensation for all the trauma and despair he and his family suffered. I'm hopeful that Vlad paid him handsomely for this interview because it's one of the best yet!! He poured his heart out to us, I felt every word he said, nothing but the truth 🙏
Please get his story to 50. He will make a series about this.
Damn seeing a man cry this many times within 2 1/2 hours just don’t sit right dawg prayers up to this man
I met him at my job and I just saw when he tells his story your souls feels every emotion he has gone thru. He is a blessing to meet but he is still definitely still hurting. But God is still his strength. He told me God, his wife, and his kids are what brought him thru! Thank you Mr.
Hicks for sharing your raw real emotions and even your prayers. Your faith is amazing. We love you! Stay strong!
This man remind me of my father retired from the sheriff department after 20years only to die early from the mental strain he saw from that job it killed his perspective of life to know how high up corruption goes and that does alot to a man who lived his life never smoked a cigarette never had a drink and hitchhiked 4years back and forth to college dedicated his life to doing the right thing only to see it’s all a gimmick he retired early and died not to long after r.i.p pops
This man is so wonderful. He’s a caring man. What happened to him was so unfair. Everyone that was in on that retaliation against him in that police department should be put in jail. Too many people make false claims and get innocent people thrown in jail.
My heart breaks for him wow… he loves his job so much. Let’s hope he gets justice and this happened for a bigger purpose. Great interviewer by the way 🙏
We need more people like this in the world , this made me cry 😢 incredible individual 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Life changing interview👏🏾 jus thr perseverance of this man is motivational and the fact he had has wife stick by him threw out the whole time is beautiful! Just makes me wonna do better in terms of pickin the right woman that actually cares about you Foreal to realising a lot of things are not important because I also come from hard upbringings and sometimes forget the struggle and realise no one cares if they ain’t really for you. So Yh man very motivational nd my heart goes out to his family had to hold back tears many times durin this interview 😤
Great interview the corruption of this government is crazy with no consequences bless this man
This mans recall of all the events is impeccable.
Hey man say Man I'm not a big fan of police but I do understand that we need them but the corruption is destroying us this is ridiculous u r in my prayers my brother I hope you get justice
Raymo4r4rnd is one of the realest most honorable and selfless individuals I have ever known. I had the privilege of growing up with Raymond in r44 Gifford Florida and I have had him come to my aid when I was being bullied. It is no surprise that he is standing up to the biggest bullies BSO. I have had the privilege of being his oldest daughter's 7th grade teacher and it was Raymond that was my character reference to enable me to enter Broward schools as a teacher. As a result I am still educating young minds here in Broward county and this would not be possible had Raymond not come to my aid as I was facing termination as a teacher over 20 years I'll go. Thank you Raymond I am changing lives for the better and you are a major reason why
❤😊
Raymond Hicks you are the epitome of strength. I pray you have left Florida, found a better place to live so u can live your best life.🙏🏽🙏🏽
Can't believe this is happening Florida.
Great interview...God bless Mr. Hicks and his family!🙏
We need more interviews like this❤ Definitely buying his book.
😢This was difficult to watch. Dude has a lot of trauma. God bless him for opening up and sharing his life experiences ❤
You can sense the sincerity in this man. To endure the experience he’s had to go through and yet still remain humble and a man of integrity, it is truly commendable. Respect ✊🏾!!
I live in a rural hood. He couldn’t be any more truthful when he was talking about living in the hood. All of my friends growing up with except 1 is dead from drugs & suicide. The sad truth of it all is that not many people ever make it out brothers and sisters.
Have some compassion world! God bless this man’s redemption he’s living a miracle.
This interview was fire. Never knew about this man, but I wanna know more now. Gob bless him and his family
Sitting here in my 🚔 watching this at work and it hurts me to see the pain and suffering this man has endured. But 23+ years in this business I can say that I have seen every word of what he is saying manifest itself as ABSOLUTE TRUTH! Corruption is rampant in law enforcement. I still love being a cop and a positive figure in the community but I wish the public knew half of what happens in those upstairs offices held by high ranking people. God Bless Mr. Hicks and his family.
🦍💙🚔
Well let us know whats going on 🤷🏿♂️ you are just as much part of the problem/corruption by not speaking up. Yall all dirty 💩
Thank u for being a honest cop 👮♂️ ❤ this rare nowadays
@@labarapatterson2661 thankyou for your comment and it's how my parents raised me. Be honest and fair and treat people with respect. It really ain't that hard but some people just don't get it.
THIS WAS JUST UNBELIEVABLE 😢
Lifetime, Netfix, Pay the man!
This is horrible what they did to him! I hope he gets the justice he's seeking. He should get a Presidential Pardon
The world saw that I was crying and they laugh….
The world did not realize that I was crying for them…
My heart was sad.. I saw the things which the world did not see…
Thee Lord show me a book And there were names which are not written in the book of life…
Wow absolutely Powerful interview all blessing to Mr.Hicks and his family, one day justice will be served and it will be Just
This interview was sooooo powerful…that’s a good man…with a beautiful heart! Heart of a lion! STRONG BLACK MAN!
Praying for his justice 🙏🏾💯✊🏾
This was a great interview! It took me three sessions to get through because of the emotions i was feeling while listening to his story. I hope he and his family find peace and they get justice for what they had to go through. As for all the individuals responsible for what happened to him, there's not a prison cell or place in hell deep enough, dark enough or hot enough for them and their evilness. I couldnt imagine having to go through this....
I am crying great interview woke up Philadelphia army veteran thanks 10 16 23 !!!
Lovely Me,
Thank you so much for your heartfelt words and support. The Broward Sheriff’s Office tried their best to ruin his reputation and destroy his life. Raymond and I met at college in 1984. we became best of friends. We been married for 37 years and together for 39 years. If my husband was committing criminal acts I would be the first to know about it. It's a shame and disgrace how the Broward Sheriff's Deputies and supervisors treat my family. My kids were 12, 7, and 4 years old as they watched their father be dragged out in handcuffs and Shackles. Raymond really loved his job. We lost everything home, cars repossessed, finances depleted and credit destroyed. Raymond and i have met people in the street who were Incarcerated and they said Mrs. Hicks I changed my life because of your husband he is a great man. How many former inmates would say that about police officers are Deputy Sheriff. Thank you all for your comments it really helps. God bless Patrice Hicks
This interview was so COMPELLING.
Vlad I have just watched him on Matt Cox, this guy is the most honest, kindest, nicest, and a regular good guy. His shitty ass department screwed him over so awful. You listen and try not to cry. Ripped at my heart. I truly hope he gets justice. So humbles he is. This is NOT the first police department to do such atrocities to innocent employees. These are the people who we all call to help us and these are the very same people who turned his life into chaos. Why? Just because and that’s the worst. Yes, he is very caring.
This whole story just made me cry 😢
He aint lying i grew up in Sunland park. I was born in 93".Sunland Park next over is Lincon Park Next over across the tracks theres Franklin Park. We lived and live in the Hood Hood.
Absolutely breathe taking to hear this interview. His recall is remarkable. To know the name of all the subjects. Wow! The walk of integrity. Truthfulness establishes that u never have to remember a Lie. Even just filling his energy, he had to be effected with hypertension.
The interviewer is excellent! Only dealing with the information. Not overly talking, and let the guest talk! Salute 👍🏾✌🏾
The thumbnail is my face when the waiter walks by with someone else’s food 🙁

The best interview ever wow
i’m impressed with this man he is 100% man. god bless him
Mr Raymond Hicks should write a book and expose all these corrupt ugly people who are supposed to protect and serve.

This guy worked at my military academy as a lead drill instructor. An absolute role model and helped alot of kids find their way.
This dudes a warrior man.. for real for real.
My beautiful father had a similar upbringing. His father was a monster and out him through the unspeakable and then blamed him for it. Wild! Only the strong survive ❤❤❤
My heart breaks for this man hope he an his family is ok truth to power.
Great interview I really hope this gentleman gets justice 🤝🏾
At some point, Mr. Hicks needs to recognize who the real devil is. Hope he continues to stay strong, so that he may reap an earthly reward that he truly deserves. God is the Ultimate Rewarder! Also, get into some GOOD therapy 🙏🙏
This makes one hellava movie!
Wow this story is crazy such a strong brother
