Thank you Poppy for your channel. I was introduced to it by a friend and you have probably taught me more in around 20 minutes than I've picked up anywhere else, and it relates directly to the challenges we have with our daughter's pony and the K&M saddle she has. Your videos give us so much more knowledge and understanding to be able to discuss with the saddle fitter, and feel informed before we start!
This is very informational. Thank you! Could you do a video on what you think of Wintec and Bates saddles? Edit: especially the Wintec pro dressage with the HART/ CAIR system
thanks so much, i have just bought a thorowgood t8 anatomical and with no saddle fitters coming out these videos are great, i will have a fitter to come out when they can but who knows when that will be , do you have any t8 videos??? thanks x
I just bought a thorowgood T4 cob dressage saddle. The adjustable straps are at the front of the saddle on the dressage model. Should I move the strap from the point position to the second ring? I am trying to find a fitter who will come to my location. In the meantime doing the best I can on my own.
it depends very much if your horse needs that point strap - they are 'standard' on the majority of dressage saddles nowadays. So it's more common to use it that not use it. :)
Can the point strap cause pain in the withers? My dressage saddle was made with a more forward or “point” strap to prevent the saddle from shifting forward. I use this as a first strap. He is difficult to fit properly because of his conformation.
@@ADayInTheLifeOfASaddleFitterYes it does thank you! I think it does fit properly because it doesn’t rock when in place. I am intrigued by mono flap saddles now!🙂

Not if it's fitted properly to make sure the point strap girthing doesn't pull it down onto the withers

If the point strap is used when it really doesn't need to be, can that be bad?
Yes, it can cause too much pressure at the front if it's not fitted with the intention of using the point strap.
