I have a collegiate monoflap and I love it!! Fits my shark-finned thoroughbred like a dream. She's a veryyyy hot mare and the monoflap saddle has kept me secure through all of her fiery moments. 100% recommend, I can't see myself ever going back to a normal saddle!
Me too- have the collegiate dressage monoflap- I will never go back to a regular saddle. My horse loves the girthing system being lower down and less leveraging needed and has stopped nipping at me when I am tightening. I hate big sofa saddles. I wish I could just go bareback really. I do ride with bareback pad quite a bit, also.
I have a collegiate mono flap jump saddle and I really like it i big ottb and it works great for him i will be getting a custom saddles when he’s done training and I’ll probably get it in mono flap as well.
I have a monoflap (jumping) saddle for one horse, we went for it because he had a tendency to leap about when excited and it meant I could keep my legs round him. The other horse has a 'standard' jumping saddle, but I really notice the girth buckles under my leg now!
Thank you so much for explaining!! Very informative video and hey, who knew that Kate Beckinsale is an equestrian!! Lol I’m sure you never heard you look like her before haha
I absolutely love both my monoflaps. I find my lower leg is much more stable jumping when it sits in to the horse a bit more 🙂 I'm very much an "I want as little saddle as possible" person. I hate blocks too. Glutton for punishment maybe?
Exactly where do the girth buckles end up?. Seems like they have to be central under the horses belly? not easy to do up or adjust, or Have I got hold of the wrong idea ?
It depends on what you want to do with them. Monoflaps can be good on the chunky types because they have less bulk to them so you're not doing the splits quite as much :D

oh yay! So glad you love it!

Love this!!! I was wondering this the other day. Thank you
You are so welcome!
I have SUCH short legs I feel like I should look into it. Then again I'm happy jumping in my dressage saddle.

Thank you!
Be interested to see what you think on this subject a few years on where we see more monoflap than dual now. Is this just fashion or snob value? 😅

You’re the opposite of me then... 😂🤣
We will never fight over a saddle... 😉
Thanks for the enlightening vid 🐴
No problem 👍

Same place as on a dressage saddle. Not that hard to adjust
Are mono flap saddles any good for a flat backed Fell pony 14hh 🐴

How do you care for your stirrup leathers then? Don't they dry out
Is there something on your front teeth? Not trying to be rude just noticed
I've got something called a 'smiler' piercing, which sits on my front teeth sometimes. When I forget to tuck it away... :D
