Established in 1977, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT) operates the world’s most successful orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program, rescuing and hand-rearing orphaned elephants and other animals that have lost their mothers, all too often as a result of human activity. But we do much more than this. Through our Aerial, Anti-Poaching and Mobile Veterinary Units, we safeguard the natural environment and provide immediate assistance to wild animals in need. We also secure irreplaceable wilderness areas so that animals will always have space to roam and work with local partners and communities to ensure people and wildlife can live alongside one another.

Today I renewed my support for Kweka, a 2 year old baby. I adopted him on behalf of my 2 year old granddaughter. Hopefully, the 2 of them will grow to be old.😘
I believe it’s Weka with no K in the beginning of her name. She’s certainly a sassy little Nina🥹🐘🩷

Mr. Sullismom, bcuz of your post, I'm gonna go find my big boy that I adopted 6 yrs ago in honor of my Dad. I shouldn't of forgotten to Renew. After I handle it, I'll post his name. I think I remember bcuz he was saved & was a big boy. But he nvr threw around his weight! 🐘💖🐘💖

I was awed to discover that it is the elephants who choose the keepers. I so love all of what you do there to help raise generations of elephants (and other animals) who can return to the wild and carry on, especially teaching all the people in the area how they can best survive side by side with the wild elephants. I have four adopted babies now and I am sure there will be more. Love elephants so very much.
Huge heartfelt thanks to everyone at SWT for saving the lives of so many elephants, rhinos and so many other animals. You are all such a inspiration to me and so many other people around the world who care about saving and protecting these amazing animals. SWT gives hope in a world of so many challenges, to protect for the natural world from destruction and mans greed.

Such great memories of my visits to the nursery in Nairobi and goring into the bush with the herd and the keepers to make photographs for the foster parents in The Netherlands. I was recognised by Nyiro (he was the first I adopted) after 4 years in Voi when he was there to visit with his herd. And Wendi trying to get to my candy in Ithumba. I admire all the keepers. They are so dedicated.

Luckily there are places and people who dedicate their life to grow them up, ... unfortunately there are not sufficently similar centers accross Africa that owns the most fantastic wild on earth 😢.

Such a beautiful, joyful, and heartwarming film. In memory of my sweet departed Doldol, I recently adopted Talek, Mokogodo, Pardamat, and Taroha. I look forward to watching them continue to thrive under the care of these truly wonderful keepers. I can't imagine anything as rewarding as what they do. Much gratitude and many blessings to them all, humans and creatures alike.

Why is it these animals, especially the rhinoceros can exist happily for over 50 million years, yet with man's greed , in the last 200 years they're in danger of becoming extinct. Alive and thriving for 50 million years, nearly extinct in 200 years because of men's greed...I realise I have written some of this twice, with any luck a poacher, or the man using horns for medicinal purposes may read this and stop.... dreams are free.. as are the animals under your love, care and protection.
