@@NicolasMelis Thanks nickolas !! Used to connect the linndrum to my old korg poly 61 for some high energy then early techno. Changing the linn’s sound eprom’s used to be a bit tricky. The tempest is great and can do the same but was a bit expensive at the time. Hoping to pick one up at a good price !!
I nabbed mine when it first came out. I remember these. I deleted all the presets (I think). Very nostalgic video for me. It's like the summer of 2011 all over again!
@@NicolasMelis Oh, I still do homie. It sounds like there are some new presets that came out. I basically got the test version that went out. It's an inspiration machine. You'll never part with it. You'll make better music than the presets, but they do show you how powerful a composition tool this box is. It's the best groove box ever made. Some will say the Analog RYTM is the best and that's fine, but Elektron's workflow and UI is not up to par with DSI/SEQUENTIAL. I recommend you watch Roger Linn's tutorial on the tempest. That's all I needed. The Tempest for me is the easiest and most powerful machine I've ever encountered. I had a history with sequencers before, so this was an easy bike to get on. I still have stuff to discover. I also like leaving it alone for a time and then coming back to it like an old friend. You'll get more work done with the Tempest that some eurorack shit (although I still do modular). In fact the Tempest's Mod Matrix is so powerful that it feels like a modular synth as well. It's like patching a modular but instead you do it with knobs and the mod matrix screen. That's a tip. I didn't even know or use the mod matrix until a year into having it. It'll beef up your sound design just you wait. Have fun man!
@@joelwoods7149 yes! Thanks for the info , i will check the R.Linn’s tutorial for sure ! Before i got it i was searching for a video to hear some presets to understand the sound of it but i couldn’t find any, i think i found 1-2 videos so i decided to do this video today that i got it in my hands. i have a lot to learn to use it properly but i though its a nice way to see how it sounds and share it here :)
@@NicolasMelis There's no proper way, just tricks you learn. I'm sure I use it "wrong" compared to others. Who knows? It's just a beast. It's also such a COOL looking machine. I think aesthetics are also important in terms of the overall inspiration a synth can bring you. You have some lockdown learning and fun ahead of you that's for sure. BTW I think I have one live video of a beat I made a couple of years ago that I was jamming out to on my channel if you wanna hear it. Nothing serious, just something I made and my friend caught me jamming to it on an iphone. Bad sound, but you get the idea. Cheers bro, I've subscribed.
Hi Nicolas, Some of those are made by Carson Day from Sequential team, you can find him performing that by searching the following: DSI TEMPEST DEMO 6 Just a quick question, I deleted all my presets, would you be able to send me the SYSEX file with the demo projects?
Hey Slawek thanks for the info i will check it out! I think there is a way to restore the presets by factory reseting the tempest.. not 100% sure though! Also i found the sysex files from the sequential website… but i can send them to you if you want no problem 😊

Can you copy single drum sounds into a new project? Or are you always starting from scratch if you want to build your own sounds?
You can save your sounds and use them in new projects.
Yes you can save your sounds and use them later in other projects
Why does it say beat on every segment? Are those each pattern and can they be named what you want?
I really dont know i just recently got it and i have not find my way around it yet :)
It's in the mode 16 beats. And somebody was too lazy to name the beats.
@@GeekGearSynths😅... And you don't understand English. Just a guess..
So all sounds are from this unit alone? Right? Thnxx brother ❤
Yes 😊
I see you also like the silent hill soundtrack
Never thought of that 😊
Which genre of music are these sounds intended for?
This music style is industrial electronic music. Was popular in the 80’s & 90’s 👊
My goodness, that sounds hideous.
