Correction this fight made 2 splits 1 where the hero won and one where the hero lost the 2nd timeline split occurs in the timeline where link wins when Zelda sends him back in time
Correction: this fight made 2 splits, one where Link fought Ganondorf and kills him, making the Adult timeline, and then the other split where Zelda sends him back in time and he stops it from ever happening. The third split is a bit more tricky than this. A timeline split is only made with time travel going backwards. In the game, Link travels forward in time to use the master sword. Then there is the shenanigans at the end of the game. The only other canonical time Link MUST travel in time, is when he gets to the spirit temple. Adult link cannot progress, and he needs to revert to being a child to progress. In doing this, he splits the timeline, abandoning it and allowing Ganondorf to win in that timeline, in order to be able to win in another. With no Link no longer in that world, it becomes the fallen hero timeline. The hero is defeated by ripping him out of existence. This is a theory, but it logically makes sense to me, and as such, it’s headcanon for me.
@@Solrex_the_Sun_King im a bit confused about that fallen hero timeline theory cause what actually happens is that link is killed by ganondorf and he throws his corpse away and takes the triforces for himself
OoT Ganondorf really was the most sinister version of him. He was a truly evil feeling man that you just don’t wanna mess with. WW made you feel almost bad for fighting him, and TP..Eh he just kinda felt There.
He wasn't more sinister-he was just more human in this game tbh. If anything he was less sinister than he was in any other Zelda game except for Wind Waker when he was borderline an anti-villain.
Welp, in Twilight Princess he feels like a way more powerful threat. Zant got killed by Midna and she only used a FRACTION of the Fused Shadow's Power, then there is Ganondorf who survuved Midna at her full power with the Fused Shadow and he even demonstrated how "weak" the power of the Twili's Ancestors actually is, because compared to the Triforce of Power the Fused Shadow is made by Mortals. He showed that he was Godlike, just like Zant described him. The only thing able to kill someone at the Powerlevel of Ganondorf would be something that has also a Divine Power Source - and in this case it would be the Master Sword.

I wish Nintendo had added a 2nd phase to the Ganondorf battle in OoT that feels as the official art depicts. Imagine if, after enough of the tennis session, Ganondorf yells something epic, stops flying around and starts some faster paced, close combat with Link. It could have been very difficult like sparing with Dark Link, only this time with Ganondorf in his agile human-like form.
I always love multi-layered boss battles, where the fight changes partway through and becomes more challenging. I suppose the second half of the Ganondorf fight starts when he transforms himself into Ganon.

With the coming of the new Zelda chapter this may, Tears of the Kingdom, and it showing alot of evidence of Ganondorf making his return appearance, I truly hope they use a rendition of this theme for him during the boss battle! Even after 25 years of playing Zelda titles, for me the Ocarina of Time game is the definitive Zelda, showing just how expansive the chronicles or "Legend" of the series really is.
I remember when I beat this boss for the first time after I struggled with it for who knows how long, it was my father of all people, spectating my game, who suggested that I try hitting the energy balls with the sword. I had tried everything else to no avail. (Turns out I beat the forest temple the wrong way by jumping and slashing with the Big Goron Sword). It created one of the most memorable experiences of all my life gaming, because not only did my father's idea help me beat the boss without him knowing anything about video games, he also joined me to witness the first ever time I'd seen a game pull the whole "yeah but this isn't the REAL" boss trope as Ganondorf came back a second time for the real final battle.

I imagine, even if we don’t see it in game . I like to think of ganondorf as man that throws devastating punches instead of sword swings and magic , kind of like how he’s depicted here , about to wizard punch straight through Link’s shield
WTF....The beginning was horrible.. Hey wasn't there the original Great fairy Remix from 2000's and old old old Gannon rap song from 2000's?

If only the boss was actually difficult. Hopefully BotW2 will fix that.
@@chadpeterson5698 I hope so.

I can at least tell you Ganondorf _really_ upped the ante in sheer power from what I've seen.
