Vorinclex seems like he would fit in this deck too. You have the ramp to drop him early, he has trample to synergize with the sword and he's a potent threat on his own.
He's also just disgusting with the Ochre Jelly I believe. It should make it such that you can't kill the jelly without killing Vorinclex first since a jelly with 2 +1/+1s would come back with 1 which would then double to 2 and repeat that constantly.

Wait, master symmitrist would not work. If a creature has vorpal sword equipped, it gets +2 to attack, so will not likely have equal power and toughness.

the ability in symetrist doesn't matter, all creatures that aren't mana dorks already have trample. its just a 4/4 for 4 with trample in the deck

Right I feel like the 4/4 slow could be filled better with an old-growth troll for even a little more resitance to removal, although it has very high green devotion. Or for the budget minded, although a bit more expensive manawise an owlbear could wield the sword very well, and draw you a card. In the deck the symmetrist basically reads "This creature and your pest tokens have trample as long as they don't have vorpal sword equipped"

@@erysecret Ochre is just a word in English, not a common one admittedly, but it is a normal word. You can look up it’s pronunciation but it’s usually like “oak-er”.

I use Thieves Tools which gives you treasure when cast, stacked on Vorpal Sword on my Hoard Robber. And Varragoth Bloodsky Sire is used to find these cards quickly. Obviously I have 4 copies of each of these. Skullport Merchant as well because when you summon him you get a Treasure. It makes it easy to get the mana for Vorpal Sword.40 cards is all you need. It works!

I also have a vorple deck and I used the green rune to give sword trample and the god of winter for ramp
That mono red player was in automatic mode. And playing the odds, scoop ASAP if need be.
That Warlock Class deck was dope
Potential lifegain/infinite life is why I run Approach of the Second Sun as my OTK finisher in most decks that use one, particularly my combo historic Bo1 deck. Don't want to have to rely on manually clicking through damage loops (even if on paper I'd have infinite damage), and don't want to risk running my opponent into an answer by making them draw their deck (dredging myself would require an additional card like Jace to win).

That is my problem with Arena. I feel like you’re supposed to specialize in one deck since you’ll never have the wildcards to get the bulk… And i like playing and building lots of different decks…

I have 75 decks right now. 1 brawl and 5 standard. I'm free to play its not as bad as people act. Most of my decks are pretty competitive and I usually hit platinum and mythic if I have time.

This was my first thought as well. The only problem is I think the +1/+1 counter deck really benefits a lot from Collected Company and obviously that card is horrible with X creatures like jelly.
@@BoshiYoshi currently I'm leaning towards maybe a green or Selesnya artifact deck with Ornithopter, Sparring Construct, Steel Overseer, maybe Zabaz the Glimmerwasp and the white modular creatures.

TIL: Vorpal Sword might be a legit Sideboard card come rotation for certain stalling matchups.
And here we see once again how many people don't understand how broken Trample + Deathtouch is.
I like this but I played a lot of Back for More beginner deck, put Vorpol on the field, make sure Titanoth Rex is in hand, play Carrion Grub, attach blade, let him chump block, after he confirms blocker, cycle Titanoth, give Carrion trample with Titanoths cycle Ability. Opponent is locked in, uh oh speghettios.

I have to say, no idea how you got over 50% win rate on this. You are a better player than I. I’m lucky to win 25%, and when I do it’s almost never because of the sword, but because of stompy creatures.

Crippling Fear gives -3/-3 to all creatures. Toski, while indestructible, still goes into graveyards as a state based action when its toughness is reduced to zero. Indestructible simply stops "destroy" effects, and death by damage equal or greater then toughness. Any creature with toughness zero goes to the yard

I would play duplicates of the lessons so that you can get them more than once. Unless I'm wrong about how this works
Vorpal sword has killed me in Commander in a 1 v 1 but in larger group somebody usually blasts it with Krossan Grip or something so I don't think it'll be any more a threat than Book of Exalted Deeds as a wincon there. However in Standard as you pointed out Mono Green stompy counters can get through even Scute Swarm eventually to deal the fatal blow. People best go back to artifact control tech or paralyzing spells.
Is mater of symmetries right in its deck? I won't proc most of the time on a creature with vorpral sword cause it gives +2 attack. Am I missing something?

Is it possible to build a modern deck with Vorpal Sword with only AFR set cards? I'm finding it hard to ramp up to activate it.
the first opponent gained 20 life and lost to taken accidentally 1 damage. its like infect but 10 times as effective.

I tried making a historic deck using Ochre Jelly and annointed procession. Maybe you can make one better than I did
The oponent with the warlock clases, you could have let him end his game, there is a combo with fully leveled warlock class and some creatura with kicker that when it enters the battlefield if it was kicked both players lose half their lifes.
I like god of the snow because you can get 8 mana a lot sooner with snow lands lol

I loved this! This is what I want for my AtO decks: a janky build-around that's truly against the odds showing it's worthy of playing (compared to an AtO deck where you keep winning because you're playing power that's not really against any odds).

Standard 2022 seems to be all aggro Monks or Goblin decks these days, I'm shocked this deck got any matchups slow enough to pull off the vorpal blade

Can someone tell me why it's standard 2022?
I hate that deathtouch interacts with trample but indestructible or protection on the blocker doesn't. Why is deathtouch the only ability to change what is "lethal damage"
because "changing what is lethal damage" is explicitly part of how deathtouch is defined in the rules. 702.2c: Any nonzero amount of combat damage assigned to a creature by a source with deathtouch is considered to be lethal damage for the purposes of determining if a proposed combat damage assignment is valid, regardless of that creature's toughness.
the primary reason this clause exists is to allow a creature with 2 power to kill 2 blocking creatures (you wouldn't be able to assign just 1 damage to each blocker otherwise). it just happens to interact favorably with trample as a result
on the other hand, the definition of indestructible doesn't mention changing how lethal damage works at all. you could theoretically add a clause that says something like "any amount of damage assigned to a creature with indestructible would not be considered lethal damage", but that clause wouldn't change how indestructible ends up working, except to make trample worse

I expect seth to mispronounce words that have no basis in English like Jitte. I also expect him to swap words like Burglar -> Bugler
I was not expecting him to mispronounce a color. A common english word.

Saff, with opponent tapped out why wouldn't you double block the unbuffed Professor (when playing against the opponent that had 2 profs to your 1) with the 3/2 and 4/4 tokens? Save yourself 1 life with very, very little risk of the gamestate ending up any differently.
Mono red player living up to their stereotype of not reading the cards and just mashing the attack button.
Master Symmetrist does seem terrible in the deck. Compare to Gnarled Prof and its a joke (even if it did work, which it doesn't). Other than that this deck seems somewhat legit. Persistent to wraths, lots of 2-for-1s makes discard/pox like decks suffer. Enough threats to compete with control (which isn't a big part of best of 1 regardless).
So I just realized, how shortsighted is it of Wizards to make a "best of 1" format to represent the next standard while they have a mechanic like learn? There's nothing stopping every single person to use lessons, and just have one or two cards that learn
