This guy's probably the most likable metal-detector enthusiast I've seen here on youtube. Doesn't matter what he finds, he's happy and grateful with what shows up. Besides that, he appears to be fairly knowledgeable on whatever he runs into.
i second that to. Thats totally right !. Glad to find some one like him. I will be same actually lol. Its make me think about what type of history does things have.
No kidding, genuine people are so hard to find these days! This guy seems really cool, and that girl he digs with is super sweet, he should marry that girl.
Corvus Rabiatus You like him try the British equivalent the mad but very nice Deep Digger Dan.... He finds things like buried German Tanks and all sorts of militaria.
Garry Gemmell I am aware of Deep Digger Dan. Funny guy and vaguely likable, but as you so succinctly stated; totally bonkers and utterly mad. Toying around with live hand-grenades (not once, but twice!) and especially Soviet WWII era ones, does not strike me as particularly 'nice' or reasonably advisable to any viewers. People tend to get damaged when emulating said behavior.
This is definitely one of the coolest channels on youtube. This is what the history channel should be without all their fake shows. I love this guys channel
I've been watching this kid's videos. He sure doesn't have any quit in him. I love that he tied on his shoelaces to get some length. I'd hire him in a minute.
I took that old brick home, I realized those marks in it are deer tracks, part of a deer track anyway. They look just like deer tracks to me. it's a very unique find. it still could be someone's fingers or a claw hammer print. who knows ?
Lol.. Whatever is at the bottom of that well is definitely gonna keep you up tonight., good luck in figuring out a way down and back up. (hopefully in as safe a manner as possible). HH NuggetNoggin.
Some people still see the value in gaining knowledge. Knowledge truly is power, and at least in the U.S. people are like robots. I'm in my early 20's and my peers can only hold conversations about sports, news, popular music, movies etc. I know maybe a handful of people my age that actually care about history, and learning about our world. You will never be able to learn everything, but I believe the point of this life is to experience as much things as we can, and constantly analyze this thing called "reality" we just wind up being born into.
This video was a joy to watch. I'm very impressed with your upbeat, optimistic attitude as well as your thirst and interest for adventure and exploration. I've subbed and I'm looking forward to your future uploads. Thank you for sharing this experience with us. :-)
I like this guy. He is just a young kid and just seems such a good kid. Wish there were more like him. I've seen many good ones and many not so good. Great to see though.
Hi nuggetnoggin - I think I am starting to get the joke. Anything you are not sure of, it's always, "It goes on a Model T Ford". LOL. Love it! Happy Hunting!
I stumbled upon one of your videos earlier and i found what you do very intriguing. I love finding dated metals and knick-knack and such in the woods to add to my collection. Just thinking about what was going to be in that well made me so eager. You seem to have much more knowledge on identifying the things you have than I can, though. I'd love to keep in touch with you to discuss some of my findings, or to help better my knowledge and future experiences. :) Thank you!
Well if they were dirt poor then I guess that would take a lead bullet or piece of lead and hammer it til it's flat, then punch a hole in the middle of it with a nail and then attach it to the dress or hat . People used lead for lots of things in the old days
yes they did and being 70 my self, i remember a lot of it....i used a lot of what you dig up...and thank you for a lot of returning memories of my early years.
hey nugget, you should ALWAYS carry bout 100 ft of paracord with you at ALL times just for such an occasion ! if it was me i would get some climbing rope and repel down in to it andsee what i could find then climb out
Watching this video and listening to you, I really like you. You seem to be a very nice guy and a good soul. I'm impressed with your knowledge of old things that you find. I was really worried for you though when you were messing with the well. I kept thinking that if you fell in there, no one would ever have found you. So scary. Please be careful out there and don't take chances. Be safe.
that red clay brick is a hand made air dried brick and the marks on it are from a deer they're are collectors who will buy that brick don't leave it behind
Yea when they made them there was probably a whole yard full of bricks laid out baking in the sun and a deer came along and walked across them like a dog across a freshly poured concrete drive way.
Nuggetnoggin, hunt around for a Tonka toy crane from the 60's with the clamshell. Put the clamshell on a long double para cord, one to lower and one to close the clamshell. You can grab items in the bottom of the well and pull them up. Good Relic Hunting!
The well is a confined space and must be treated as such. Going down without testing the oxygen level could result in not coming out again. Anything that is or has decayed down in the bottom, sticks, leaves, small animals, will use up the oxygen down that far so it's not a good idea to go it on your own.
Before you go down into that well, there is this type of gas you find under ground or in wells, and it can kill you (I think it can kill you) but you have to tie a candle or torch to a rope and lower it in. If it gos out, then there is that gas in that hole, vice versa.
Raydon gas if you ever see a house being built they line the foundations with a red plastic thats to protect the home from raydon same stuff in wellls no smell no feel and the candel trick does not work you need a raydon detector miners used the candel trick for another gas in coal and iron mines
Old bricks like the one you found were made in brick yards on the ground... That brick had deer hoof marks in it! Go back and get that brick! It's a better than 100 year old fossil.
HOLY HELL. I just paused the video because of a micro heart attack. when you were looking down the well at around 9:30 ish... the transition looked as if a damn spirit was flying out of the well. scaring me half to death! lmao!
Colby Falkenhagen Well I have not gotten a detector yet, but hubby and I have picked up a Dumpster Diving hobby 😂. But I prefer to call it Treasure Hunting lol
Hello, I'm new to your channel. I see a lot of negative comments on the feed but dont pay attention to any of it. What you do is really cool and you seem to enjoy it. Not everyone has to like it or understand it. You're not out getting in trouble. props to you young man, The world need more youth like you
What a beautiful well, built rock over rock, so perfect. I have a well at my kaleyard and it's quite old too. The only thing I retrieved from it was a snake, a Natrix Tessellata, water snake. I have taken her to the nearest torrent and set her free.
Thank you so much for the magnet idea. I lost a very old hammer in a pond about a year ago after a friend threw it in right after we found it. (he's a wild person) I didn't even think about using a magnet to get it out.
Someone was lowered down dug it out bucket by bucket and then put each stone in one by one all the way to the top. More then likely took a year or more to dig and wall that well.
The nut you were looking at is a "slip nut" it's used in plumbing. It's used to connect the sink drain pipe to the bottom of the sink drain hole. There is a rubber or leather gasket that is sandwiched between it and the sink to form a watertight seal.
That well is scary. Imagine going in head first...even if you survive the fall, you're screwed. You wouldnt be able to turn your body around to get out. eeeek!
the brick is an air dried brick they would leave in the sun to dry and the print on the brick is a deer print I've seen dog and cat prints on bricks but that is the first deer print I've ever seen take it home with you there are collectors who would pay you hundreds for that brick! I sold cat print bricks for $300.00 a piece.
Well thank you. Most of the time someone tells me I'm smart it is usually followed by the word ass. But yea I would have looked for the stone. I wouldn't think it would have been a diamond judging by the mount but if the ring is gold then it's safe to assume the stone or gem is going to be worth something. Maybe more then the ring it's self. I am certainly no expert but I just got me a detector so I'm checking out some of these videos to see what people are finding and where. The place where I live was built back in the 30's and there is an abandoned cloths line out back I thought might be a good place to get my feet wet. I was told the best places to check for coins at old houses is where they washed and hung the laundry at. Maybe tomorrow morning I will put that theory to the test.
Oh. Yea. Hum. Would you look at that. I made a grammatical error. I used "then" where I should have used "than". Oops. Good to see someone is paying attention. So a gold star for you! Now if only I could just bring myself to give a shit about it.........Wait..Wait...Hold on........Here it comes......Ah......Nope! Ain't gona happen. (Grammar violation two words back gold star number two could be yours) :) You do realize this is youtube right?
I like the channel. I enjoy his enthusiasm for what he does. He does seem a little excitable over finding junk, but it's his passion and I can respect that. I hope that he at least got a discount on the camera for the advertising that he just did. That was pretty clever. Lol
Not sure if anyone can tell me, but I found a large (3"x5") chunk of hardened melted lead at a civil war prisoners camp and I was wondering if it could be from the war? Thanks for any info in advance!
Years ago, the brass ends from shotgun shells were used by the women for buttons. Mostly on the men's homemade coats. My grandma used them for grandpas coats on the hog farm .

That well looks dangerous! Also that looks like a hoof print on the brick
It's not a jar tho, looks just like a cap for a gas can or a big ass bottle. He does seem to know alot about old stuff tho!
Some people are just amazed at history and old things and over time u learn ...just like any other hobby

Hi nuggetnoggin -
I think I am starting to get the joke. Anything you are not sure of, it's always, "It goes on a Model T Ford". LOL. Love it! Happy Hunting!
I enjoyed how he got creative and used ratchet straps as well as the laces from his boots. Love the enthusiasm for his past time!
I am now subscribed

that flat lead disc was used to hold dresses down..they would sew them in at the bottom seam. 1800s for sure....:)
that would be called a hem weight, hem weights have holes in them and you attach them to a hat or dress to hold them down
mine didn't have any holes in it but they could of been making a hem weight but lost it before they finished
poor folks made thier own...sooo maybe no holes?
Well if they were dirt poor then I guess that would take a lead bullet or piece of lead and hammer it til it's flat, then punch a hole in the middle of it with a nail and then attach it to the dress or hat . People used lead for lots of things in the old days
yes they did and being 70 my self, i remember a lot of it....i used a lot of what you dig up...and thank you for a lot of returning memories of my early years.
They should really cover up that old well, someone could be walking around and not notice it and fall in.
I put some more logs over it so no one could fall in, unless they moved them.
nuggetnoggin Glad you covered her back up- I was wondering about that..
nuggetnoggin hey at 1425-1428 is that a flying bug? or a flying rod?
hey nugget, you should ALWAYS carry bout 100 ft of paracord with you at ALL times just for such an occasion ! if it was me i would get some climbing rope and repel down in to it andsee what i could find then climb out

I found a penny that was made it 1947, it's very clean too!!
2 years after ww2. Cool
I found one from 1903
You should get one of those ladders that they have on helicopters and tie it to a tree and go down the well and see if you can find anything! Lol
a rope ladder ? lol i could make one of them probably
jirimar and get a few friends to cone with you
Shane Stits Yes, exactly! lol :)
If you try to go in the well do not go there alone.
The well is a confined space and must be treated as such. Going down without testing the oxygen level could result in not coming out again. Anything that is or has decayed down in the bottom, sticks, leaves, small animals, will use up the oxygen down that far so it's not a good idea to go it on your own.
Nobody can say your not dedicated to your hobby Mike!.. Taking your shoe laces out proved that, lol. Great video buddy:)..
hahah thanks!, I never could get my shoe laces to go back inside my shoes, so i had to just wrap them around my ankles to tie them on lol.
Lol:).
yæs

Looks like you have a lot of fun man! Exploring is awesome. The detecting adds another level of excitement to it! Cheers to the upcoming adventures
HOLY HELL. I just paused the video because of a micro heart attack. when you were looking down the well at around 9:30 ish... the transition looked as if a damn spirit was flying out of the well. scaring me half to death! lmao!

You're not the only one. Makes me wonder what's in my backyard and up in our mountains.

This is the ring right here. Samara is gonna crawl out of that well.
What a beautiful well, built rock over rock, so perfect. I have a well at my kaleyard and it's quite old too. The only thing I retrieved from it was a snake, a Natrix Tessellata, water snake. I have taken her to the nearest torrent and set her free.

Same
I watch really weird stuff when I'm sick, but this is very amusing
I love the ingenuity and resourcefulness in this one. Good job young man!
Thank you so much for the magnet idea. I lost a very old hammer in a pond about a year ago after a friend threw it in right after we found it. (he's a wild person) I didn't even think about using a magnet to get it out.
Every treasure or stuff u found all of them has a story
How the hell did they make such stone wells back in the day. that is proper deep.
Someone was lowered down dug it out bucket by bucket and then put each stone in one by one all the way to the top. More then likely took a year or more to dig and wall that well.
Mamamija
.
Buy boat rope light to carry + larger heavy magnet.
Love these videos, u can tell this kid has a heart of gold
the feeling you get when you don't know what your gonna find is great , thanks for the video

The brick looked like it had hoof prints from a deer, in it.
The nut you were looking at is a "slip nut" it's used in plumbing. It's used to connect the sink drain pipe to the bottom of the sink drain hole. There is a rubber or leather gasket that is sandwiched between it and the sink to form a watertight seal.
I love how he trys to cover up his loss of time in broken glass and how he makes nuts and bolts sound so valuable.
this young man is a great example
you need to get 2 500' pracords you'll reach the bottom of that and any other wells you come across :)
That well is scary. Imagine going in head first...even if you survive the fall, you're screwed. You wouldnt be able to turn your body around to get out. eeeek!
That was exactly nearly word for word what i said to myself when he was looking down it ! FERK THAT !

the brick is an air dried brick they would leave in the sun to dry and the print on the brick is a deer print I've seen dog and cat prints on bricks but that is the first deer print I've ever seen take it home with you there are collectors who would pay you hundreds for that brick! I sold cat print bricks for $300.00 a piece.
That first ring had a stone at one point. I would have kept looking to see if it was in the same hole.
Jack A. Lope, u r smart
Well thank you. Most of the time someone tells me I'm smart it is usually followed by the word ass. But yea I would have looked for the stone. I wouldn't think it would have been a diamond judging by the mount but if the ring is gold then it's safe to assume the stone or gem is going to be worth something. Oh. Yea. Hum. Would you look at that. I made a grammatical error. I used "then" where I should have used "than". Oops.

It was possible he could of climbed down the well because I climbed down the same well
+Boxerchester09 what was down there then
Boxerchester09 no you didn't, liar.
Someone should be notified about that well and they can cap it before some kid falls down there.
The mark on the brick was a deer foot
kyle Wilkey
Deer don't have feet.
Nothing like lowering a 600$ metal detector into a 60' well using a shoe string. Props to you buddy. I'm enjoying your videos.
That lump of something was a solid piece of gold 5:10
Make another video but this time send a camera down to see what is down there.
Garras Porgratix good idea
Camera will turn like crazy
You should attached the camera to see what is imside
I love spoons too...
this guy must be aquachiggers son! videos are basically the same! lol
I like the channel. I enjoy his enthusiasm for what he does. He does seem a little excitable over finding junk, but it's his passion and I can respect that. I hope that he at least got a discount on the camera for the advertising that he just did. That was pretty clever. Lol
Was I the only one that wanted him to dig something up with one of the spoons as a joke?
Jason Vermette me hahaha
the old well should be properly covered, so that no animals/persons can fall in!!!!

Strap a flash light to a camera and lower the camera down
