History Making Investiture of Dr. Aubra J. Gantt, Chancellor - Southern University at Shreveport

Join us as we celebrate the historic investiture of Dr. Aubra J. Gantt, the first female Chancellor of Southern University at Shreveport, Louisiana (SUSLA). Dr. Gantt, a proud product of SUSLA, has dedicated her life to serving students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds, embodying the community college mission.
Dr. Gantt's illustrious career spans over 25 years, with roles in state government, academic affairs, student affairs, and clinical behavioral and mental health. Notably, she served as Dean of Enrollment Management at Scottsdale Community College and as the founding Vice President for Academic Outreach and Student Success at Tarrant County College. Her journey began at the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, eventually leading her back to SUSLA, where she has been instrumental in fostering student success and community engagement.
Her visionary Reimagine SUSLA campaign aims to transform the campus into a premier two-year university, excelling in academic programs, workforce development, community engagement, and student success.
A native of Shreveport, Dr. Gantt holds a Bachelor of Liberal Studies (Social Work) from Southern University and A&M College, a Master of Social Work from Southern University at New Orleans, and a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration from the University of North Texas.
