Oh I forgot to mention that I have a tip for remembering which row you're on. When you are at the end where the chain started and you see the tail, this is where you stitch the half double crochet first. If at the end without the chain's tail, start with a slip stitch. So whenever you set down your work, you can know how to start again. Hope this helps someone.
@@nothingtoseehere16 how sweet of you to let me know that. I'm always so happy to help people. Wishing you the best of luck with your project. I finished my scarf and managed to make a matching hat. It was tricky to figure out how to make this stitch into a hat but I lucked upon a video of a lady who turned her hat after every row of her pattern and I realized that was exactly what I needed. (So help came back to me!) There's a tiny line up the hat where I turned it but it's barely noticeable. The decreases turned out really easy for me too. Now I'm making mittens with the leftover yarn but not going to use this stitch.
I am a you tube taught crocheter. I just wanted to say... You are an excellent teacher. I wish I would have found you when I was learning. You take the steps slowly and you explain it very well.
@@naticrochet I also learned to crochet on UA-cam. For some reason I could never get how to do a slip stich after watching this video you made it so easy to figure out. Thank you can't wait to make this scarf.
I learned very basic crochet techniques (like how to make a slip knot, a single crochet and a double crochet) from the mother of a childhood friend about 25 years ago, but I didn't pick the hobby back up until about 5 years ago when I decided to try and learn more, so the majority of what I know now comes from UA-cam tutorials like this one, so I want to say thank you for being one of the great "UA-cam teachers" and posting tutorials like this one. I really love this super easy pattern.
Thank you so much!!! My mom taught me years and years ago and I’ve not crocheted anything in years and she passed away about 12 years ago. Thank you! Ps I love your accent! Makes me miss my Gma! Mom’s family was all from Kiev and Odessa!
I love this pattern! Although I tried the moss stitch before and didn't like it for the yarn I was using at the time, I'm also a tight stitcher and that's probably why I didn't like it. I'm so thankful that you explained about leaving the slip stitches looser because it's really helped me to make it beautiful this time. I'm using Lionbrand Coboo yarn, 51% cotton and 49% rayon. Approved by Kniited Knockers for breast cancer survivors. First time using this yarn and first time watching you ❤️
Watch your tutorials regularly. It's so easy because of the simple ways you explain. Greatly appreciate it all. Thank you. Hope you continue with such tutorials.

Hi Rose! All I can tell you is that, July it's going to be intense (the hole summer). The danger will come from people and the government. Make sure that you are not in harms way. Be safe and calm as much as possible. Take care!
Your tutorials are some of the best and clearly represented on UA-cam. You make it fun as well as easy to follow for beginners and seasoned crocheters. Thank you so much! I also love this stitch as well. I've noticed that a lot of these stiches make the best textured pieces I've seen so far. :)
I don't think I had ever seen this pattern and I LOVE IT! plus it's simple. I'm going to try it because I want to make my sister's a scarf. I'll try to remember to make the last row loose compared to the rest for the tassels. Thank for the tutorial!
Thank you very much for this video. I made it successfully by following your tutorial. It's a great present. Again, thank you very much and I wish you good health. God Bless you!
Your manner is great in this video, you are careful to show how to make each stitch all the way across, you speak very clearly without rushing, and you don’t work too fast!!!!! I’ve been learning more stitches and patterns on YT, and I’ve subscribed to your channel to see more of what you do!! I’m going to use this to teach my friend how to crochet, it’s perfect for them.

awesome tutorial, super beginner myself and learned both single & half double in a perfect way watching your video ( super grateful for it) , but the thing is, I still struggle to differentiate between the first and the second chain! I know this is a simple thing and I'm almost there but it's ruining the entire row any tips ? thank you so much. subscribed & can't wait to learn more from you
Hello! I am a true beginner. I want to make sure I heard you correctly. At the end of my very first row of 24, I don't need to single a stitch when turning? I just simply turn my yarn, slip stitch then dbl crochet? Thank you!!
Simple and beautiful! Please is it possible teach using the yarn less thin? The color of the yarn and the color of the table are the same and I lost my understanding. This scarf is more than beautiful ...Thank you very much.
I am really struggling. I feel like I'm not sure where to insert my hook, even on the first row of chains. And after that, I really can't tell! I started this scarf last night and ended by unraveling it when I saw my rows were not coming out even. Your instruction is great. I just can't seem to do it.
Try this link, is the same stitch but close up ua-cam.com/video/FWRNxdKXuE4/v-deo.html. Make sure that you do the first and last stitch, if it helps put a marker on the last stitch of the row, and when you turn your work you'll know where is the first stitch to start. Hope it helps. Happy Crochet!
Are you possibly able to make a pattern document-like PDF or something of that nature-to share online with the stitch names and sequences? The video is great, but while working, I got carried away and started the turn along with you, though I had forgotten that you did a smaller number of chains than I so I should have kept going. Had to throw that out and restart :( Thank you for the video! Super for a beginner like myself.
You can have the same effect using single crochet stitches instead of slip stitches. You can also do a related pattern alternating single crochet instead of slip stitch and double crochet instead of half double crochet.
I'm confused. For the first stitch we're supposed to skip to the second chain. My question is do we continue to skip to the second chain as we stitch/crochet or was that a only one time to skip?
Could you pleaseeeeeeee also do a tutorial for a beanie that matches with this? I've been trying to do it on my own but I can't get it right😭 I'm planning to give it to my boyfriend as a bday gift and I only have 1 month left...I'm exhausted 😭😭😭

Hi Helen! Chain even numbers of chains, skip the first chain and in the second chain do a single crochet, and then do single crochet in each chain for the first row. Then, chain 1 turn your work( if you count your stitches after the first row you'll have odd number of stitches, exp: if you chain 12, you'll have 11 stitches after the first row of single crochet in each chain), and in the first stitch do a slip stitch, next stitch HDC, next slip stitch and so on. I think is better to do single crochet in each chain for the first row. When you finish the project, do a single crochet in each stitch across the row, to finish the same way you started. I hope I explain good, and not confuse you. Unless you want me to do a short video to show you. Happy Crochet!
