      The whole Barrabas thing was downright fiction. Historical records show Pilate was insane, he was a genocide who killed jews by the thousands, even Rome had to destitute him because he was just too hungry for blood (and to Roman standards that is saying something). Do you really think a man like him, the historical man, was gonna forgive a porpular jew that declared himself to be a messiah (Jesus) ??? The New Testament is all fiction, please people, that book has been used since Roman times to persecute and hate Jews.

    We don't know if Barabbas was possessed or not. The Bible describes him as a revolutionary in one book, and a murderer in another. (He likely was both, as they tie together well).
    That being said, this scene portrays what a demonic possessed individual would do upon facing Christ. We read it in Biblical accounts and it's made clear here. He's immediately silenced and knows he (the demonic spirit) is staring at the one who made all things and has complete control. All creation knows it, including the demons. Excellent portrayal here, even if a mere movie.

    I'd like to think that even though he was locked up, Barabbas heard of Jesus' deeds and felt guilty that a man who had been rumored to have done so much good was taking Barabbas' place on the cross. Who knows, maybe Barabbas even witnessed the crucifixion thinking "That should have been me, this man died in my place.". If Barabbas was close enough, he may have even heard god praying to his father for forgiveness on all that had a hand in his death ..... Including Barabbas.

    The Muslims believe Jesus was never crucified, they believe Him to be a prophet but they say His body was replaced with Barabbas' on the cross and they that's the false Christ we actually worship. It also depends what Hadith you read of course but some say that He ascended into Heaven when He was on the cross and didn't actually die, which of course means He never resurrected Himself.

      Mohammed was either deceived by Satan or he was responsible for starting a man made religion knowing that his religion would contradict Judaism and Christianity with him meeting up with an angel entirely fabricated and made up in attempt of using flattery to start his own religion and both examples whether it was actually from Satan or Mohammed made up a story of him meeting up with an angel that never happened combined with the fact he added and took away from scripture means that Mohammed is a false prophet since the Koran contradicts both the New and even the Old Testament and God does not contradict Himself, because if God contradicted Himself by making up a story that contradicts Jesus Christ being the messiah that would make God a liar and that is clearly false.

      @@davidnoble8002 I just look at Islam the same way as every other Religion or Ideology that doesn't worship Christ as God and that it's an anti-Christ Religion. I just consider it an anti-Christ Ideology, that's all it is to me, nothing more and nothing less.
      Walter Veith has a great a video on UA-cam that explains the origins of Islam and its connection with Catholicism, it's very interesting and it talks about how their Religion is merely a re-packaging of Gnostic teachings and ancient Babylonian rituals, it's nothing new and btw, even those Gnostic teachings weren't new back then. They merely blended what Jesus taught with Kabbalistic mysticism.
      Islam recycles some of the same teachings the Gnostics used to preach. They too believe Jesus wasn't crucified, there's a scripture that's written in First Person from the perspective of "Jesus" and he mocks how all the people are celebrating his death because they don't realize that "Jesus" has replaced his body with Peter's or some other disciple, I can't remember. The teachings also allude to the idea that "Jesus" can sort of move between bodies, like possess them essentially and be re-born in a new person.
      I study the Koran and other books because I think it's interesting to learn about that stuff but I don't subscribe to any of the ideas. They all honestly just reaffirm my belief in Jesus Christ. The Koran for example acknowledges the Virgin Birth, it regards Jesus as the Messiah, it says He's gonna return but then it says that he's gonna convert all the Christians to Islam and that He's not God or even the Son of God. Muhammad doesn't come back though and yet Jesus is just a prophet to them??? GET REAL!
      It's interesting to note that the Jews don't believe Jesus is the Messiah even though he fulfilled all the prophecies, even descending from the line of David and it's still not enough. They believe their Moshiac has yet to arrive and that he will on a donkey and it's ironic that the Muslims believe the anti-Christ will arrive on donkey too. To me, these were chess pieces being set up by the Devil himself, that's how I see it at least.
      Learn and read as much as you can but only subscribe to Jesus' New Covenant with us. His New Testament is all I subscribe to and that's where I've always returned to when I've felt most lost.

    • @davidnoble8002
      @davidnoble8002 3 роки тому +13

      If the Muslims do indeed believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah and had a virgin birth, but deny Jesus Christ had died on the cross for the entire sins of the world because of him in not being God or not being the Son of God then that means part of their belief system is based on a contradiction. That they may claim Jesus Christ is the Messiah and even had a virgin birth, but by them denying him as part of trinity means the Muslims contradict themselves. By denying that Jesus Christ is God, Savior, or Son of God means he could not possibly be the Messiah and could not possibly have had a miraculous virgin birth if that were true. Also, the Muslims not portraying Jesus Christ as God, Savior, or Son of God would still be contradicting God from the Holy Bible. As for the Jews? The biggest difference between Muslims and Jews is that the "traditional" Jews as opposed to Messianic Jews (which includes the original 12 disciples excluding Judas since he was worshiping money instead of Jesus Christ and the many other early Jewish followers of Jesus Christ from thousands of years ago in addition to modern time Messianic Jews such as Sid Roth for example ) is that they also deny that Jesus Christ is the Messiah and deny that Jesus Christ had a virgin birth in addition to him not being God, Son of God, and Savior who are still waiting for a savior and fail to realize that the Messiah already came, and sadly many of these so called Jews do not have a close and personal relationship with God contrary to their ancestors Moses and Abraham.

    • @jambi5096
      @jambi5096 3 роки тому +6

      @@davidnoble8002 I totally agree with you. I’ve tried explaining the contradictions to some of them before but they won’t see it. They think it doesn’t make sense that God came down in the flesh, they think there’s no way that’s even possible but then they turn around and believe that Muhammad split the moon lol.
      They’re in a constant state of contradiction. One minute the Koran says to honor the Old and New Testament and then the next it says the books have been corrupted... ok... so, where are the untainted books at???
      The worst part is a lot of these more outspoken Muslims will try and twist your perception of the Truth. They’ll use scriptures in the Bible to “prove” it’s not trustworthy, sorta like an Atheist pulling verses outta context to show how toxic and wrong believing in God is. That’s called doing the Devil’s work right there.

    In this film were the actors directed to act naturally with their specific roles. Every one of the actor's role in this movie is seemingly natural ? The communication between Barabbas and Jesus Christ in this movie seems deep and spiritual beyond natural. So touching.

This movie was directed by GOD, many saw JESUS in a character played by Jim Caviezel and became CHRIST followers.

    Pilate tried to the best of his ignorance to get him released. He intentionally chooses the worst prisoner he can think of so they have - he's trying to throw them a bone so they have a way to save face. He's trying to make it easy and socially acceptable to accept Jesus' release but they chose Barabbas anyway. You can see his reasoning in a lot of scenes. He's trying but never fully committing, I think. Pilate had the hardest test imo, I think he took his job seriously and wanted to keep the peace. I also think he was a decent man just trying to do his best. He made his fair share of mistakes just like the rest of us.

    Jesus bar-Abbas was a zealot, which means he was an anti-Roman, guerrilla fighter, revolutionary, whose only drive was to overthrow the nation that was oppressing his people. Today, many people would call him patriotic, even worthy of adoration as a man who pledged his loyalty to only "God & Country." But then the choice. When Jesus rode in on the donkey, and the crowd screamed hosanna, they didn't think God had sent someone to save them from their sin. They thought, as Israelites, as the chosen, as the elect, they were already in right standing with God and didn't need a spiritual savior. What they felt they needed was a physical savior. Someone to relieve them of their physical oppression. This is who they thought Jesus of Nazareth, and the Messiah was (and still do.) This is why the choice between bar-Abbas and Jesus is actually a juxtapose. One is the messiah they imagined, the other was the actual Messiah, but not as they hoped. One came to save us from Hell and our sinful condition, the other was willing to be crucified to save physical Israel from physical Rome. We should be careful that we do not now, as they did then, cry for a bar-Abbas in greater concern of our temporal oppressors; rather than seeing our greater need of Jesus for propitiation as opposed to prosperity. Instead, we should always remember our kingdom (and our inheritance) is not of this world. So, whether we find ourselves in wealth or wallow, Zion or Babylon, we can confidently say, “it is well.”
