I think right now Yuji has to touch his targets because his output for dismantle would be weak from his inexperience. So he's instead using cleave to adjust his cursed energy output relative to his target. But I predict that as he continues to hit his stride he'll likely start expanding his applications of it. As for the black flashes, it was stated that black flashes are equal to the attack being delivered at max power, and multiplied by a power of 2.5. That's not the attack x2.5, it's the attack multiplied by itself, then multiplied again by half the first multiplication. So for example if Yuji's regular strikes are depleting Sukuna's energy by 10 points, his black flashes aren't reducing by 25, but by like- 316! This is important because just one good punch from Yuji was able to undo several black flashes worth of restoration on Sukuna. Yuji hitting Sukuna with 8 black flashes oughta be the equivalent of hitting him over 2,000 times... Which raises the question of how Sukuna hasn't just fizzled out of existence at this point. Unless the amount of drain that his punches cause is static and isn't at all dependent on how hard Yuji actually hits him or on the output of his soul.

He probably didn’t look for him for a while but decided to eventually start after the six eyes kept stopping him from killing tengen. That way if the Toji plan failed he’d be able to reincarnate Sukuna and have him kill Gojo so he can merge tengen. Yuji becoming a vessel wasn’t necessarily guaranteed, that was probably part of Kenny’s agreement with Jin, since he would only become a vessel if Toji failed to kill Gojo, which sent Kenny’s backup plan into motion.

He tracked a soul, for a thousand years, and that's if Sukuna was gossiping to him about his life.
Tracking the 6 eyes is easier since it's solely in the Gojo family and those connected to it, then tracked a soul, 100% at random since Sukuna didn't have any children and seemingly no known family.
He, somehow, had enough connections and a strong enough information network to find not just Jin but also realizing with NO guarantee that his blood line, since they are not direct relatives to Sukuna, would even produce someone close to rivaling Sukuna.
On top of that, that means Kenjaku had to have known reincarnation was an absolute true cycle, which just raises other questions.

So heres my idea. Since Cursed energy is all fuck wucky with twins what if since Sukuna "ate his twin" and absorbed his power (like Yuiji wating Sukunas finger and getting his) the reason why Sukunas twin keeps incarnating is because Sukuna split his soul and was still technically alive in the world so his twins soul could never really move on because it was still attached to sukuna (literally the other half of his body) so while sukuna is stuck in the fingers his bother keeps reincarnating through the ages as his basically dragged along with his twins cursed fingers

I think right now Yuji has to touch his targets because his output for dismantle would be weak from his inexperience. So he's instead using cleave to adjust his cursed energy output relative to his target. It's why there seems to be a delay to it too, as he is still understanding how it works and is needing to get used to intuiting his cursed energy output to slash his targets. But I predict that as he continues to hit his stride he'll likely start expanding his applications of it.
As for the black flashes, it was stated that black flashes are equal to the attack being delivered at max power, and multiplied by a power of 2.5. That's not the attack x2.5, it's the attack multiplied by itself, then multiplied again by half the first multiplication. So for example if Yuji's regular strikes are depleting Sukuna's energy by 10 points, his black flashes aren't reducing by 25, but by like- 316!
This is important because just one good punch from Yuji was able to undo several black flashes worth of restoration on Sukuna. Yuji hitting Sukuna with 8 black flashes oughta be the equivalent of hitting him over 2,000 times...
Which raises the question of how Sukuna hasn't just fizzled out of existence at this point. Unless the amount of drain that his punches cause is static and isn't at all dependent on how hard Yuji actually hits him or on the output of his soul.

It might also be possible that Yuji can’t throw slashes because he hasn’t reached the level of mastery with it that Sukuna has. As far as we can tell this is Yuji’s first time really using it.
