yeah it surely didnt kill yuta. no less than a few seconds after being slashed he was already teleported to safety, it just felt like this was yuta tapping out and letting maki go the distance before sukuna goes all out and everyone comes in for the real final fight
It seems the group understands that Sukuna has one more form or so that he is holding back. I think right now they're doing everything they can to draw out this power before returning all the injured or "Dead" for one final show down.
Uraume simply cannot picture sukuna losing, so feeling that his curse energy waves have gone down, would mean to Uraume that hes not trying when in actuality, that mans is getting jumped and is fighting at 10% power at this point. Otherwise its just inconsistant writing. Sukuna said himself that his cursed energy has been getting low, having him holding back would make no sense, aside from his fire arrow, which he has yet to use. Its much more plausible that the idea of Sukuna losing to anyone other then Gojo is simply impossible, but if they were to see the position Sukuna is in, i dont think they would say that hes holding back.
He's not holding back, he's just not going all out. Why would he take this much of a jumping and still not use his flames? It couldn't damage gojo but im damn sure it can help against the jujutsu fodder. It's like the same thing when he fought gojo where gojo was wondering why sukuna is picking the more riskier/harder way of approaching the fight. I haven't been able to take JJK very seriously for this reason. We're literally going to get some scene like Sukuna is beheaded and hit with jacobs ladder, smoldering the head falls to the ground. Rolling face up to look at his foes sukuna cracks a grin "finally, I guess I'll get a little serious" LIke, the author of JJK needs to realize not everyone likes sukuna nearly as much as he does and he's hitting mary sue territory.
My interpretation of that is that, yes he still isn't using something that he could, but I think Uraume just doesn't know what is happening in his battle, so he interprets the low CT output as Sukuna not going all out, when in fact his CT output is low because of all the damage and nerfs he took

The only character that was even believed to come anywhere near him was Gojo, and it was pretty handedly proven that sukuna was stronger than Gojo. If this were coming out of nowhere I would agree with you, however that isn't the case. It is well established. How much suit can I likes to fight and push his own abilities.
I think Sukuna going "all out" will have something to do with him explaining his cures technique (for the buff) and/or revealing what his is the cursed spirit of. ie volcanoes, forests, the ocean,, etc.
all out means berserk mode literally what Gojo did, to this time Sukuna was playing safe being a punchbag it just shows the difference in durability his body isn't only for show up, it has durability, they are just weak, and damage which they did isn't enough, when he said to Maki that he haven't yet break even a sweat he wasn't joking, and the last panel shows him as Kashimo was seeing him, you can see the energy coming out of him like crazy and hopefully he will go from defensive to berserk mode

Sukana was a human not a curse spirit that is a misconception he was once a human that then became a curse object but Sukana isn't or was ever a curse spirit.
And he also missed that sukuna did indeed use the full chant when he fired that dismantle if we really squint our eyes in the panel with maki trying to avoid the rubble, we can see speech bubbles hiding in the rubble having the rest of the chant that is used for the world slash. The translators may have not caught onto this.

Unless there was a data book, or Gege saying something, I still get hung up on why people say that the "world cutting" slash is different than a Cleave, let me explain. The chant he performs isn't the chant for a world cleave, its the chant for his technique period. Its like when Gojo started his fight with Sukuna he performed his chant to fire his Maximum Purple. You can use your techniques without a chant, however the power they can output is lower (think Bleach where Kido can be performed by calling its number and name, or you can perfom the chant for a maximum output). Every chant is not automatically the use of the World Cleave, but it does imply that Sukuna has been pushed to the point that he has to hit people with the highest output he can now as non-chanted cleaves and dismantles are not cutting it. Also a world cutting cleave was only needed against Gojo who could not be hit by anything while the Infinity was operational, it makes no sense for the strongest sorceror on Earth right now to have to use anything more than a maximum output Dismantle and Cleave on his enemies. He doesn't have to target the entirety of space and time to cut Yuta, Yuji, Maki, or anyone he is currently fighting. Of course I could have said all this and it is actually been previously revealed and said that World Cutting is this new ace attack that he needs all the time, but honestly we keep gassing up an attack that frankly is no longer needed and is just a chanted Cleave with a more abstract target.

Good observation, this has been my thoughts as well. It also proves that he never needed maho to actually bypass infinity but rather adapt to it so his attacks work regardless of if gojo has it on or not. But if just wanted to kill gojo outright then maho isn't needed.
It isnt a cleave its a dismantle. Its different because of its potency. By targeting and then cutting the world It ignores durability. Its a new ace attack. Think of the difference between and regular bird attacking you and bird strike.

It was evident in Sukuna 15f vs Mahoraga. Gojo also stated Sukuna was a human who lived 1000 years ago - Sukuna said Maki can see his ct like Mahoraga. Not Maki is as strong as Mahoraga - Sukuna says he doesn't need a heart back when he had 3f. Its probably just a way to had intensity to retcon that Sukuna needs to heal his heart. - Yuta was less damaged than Gojo. Yuta has more of a chance to survive than someone cut in life and in the afterlife. Even with the buff, Gojo spent too much time losing blood than Yuta.

I think Gege was implying through Urame that all the other sorcerers just now barely weakened Sakuna enough to make him almost relative to the top hitters, and maki is the first person to really peak sakunas interest since Gojo. Time to open black box? Maybe, but I can see why urame says Sakuna isn’t trying. He’s just been mocking people and thinking about killing yuji since he killed Gojo. The most pressure he had was kashimo vs 2 arm Sakuna and angels cursed technique. Everything else was like swatting away mosquitoes or playing with bad kids. He’s only been worried about the soul splitting attacks ever since higuruma.
Here me out Sukuna, Kenjaku and Tengen was the original trio, so it would make sense for Sukuna to lose and not be the final boss, then Tengen merger happens thus bringing the final big bad, then that way the original trio is taken out the picture to allow the birth of the new age of Jujutsu being the remainder of the current generations trio.
If anyone was holding back it was Gojo, despite what he said he still wanted to save Megumi. Gojo could've floated and Purple'd Sukuna inside Unlimited Void, but he decided to hand-to-hand him. Even after Sukuna got hit with UV, Gojo only wanted to make Sukuna near dead, Gojo could've finished Sukuna with ranged attacks from a distance.

@@sethfortnite683that is only for the domain. Cleave targets people because he counts as touching them, so he can cleave them. Buildings don’t need the cleave adjustments, so it more cost effective to have it be dismantle. Also he might not count as touching them if they don’t have curse entertain, so that’s why he uses dismantle on them. Normal cleave needs Sukuna to touch someone to work. Dismantle is the attacks he fires.

I think there is some type of restriction on cleave that gives it more power, but forces the user to touch the thing first. Power in this case is that cleave adjusted to the durability of the target. Sukuna can just put more CE to make cleave or dismantle stronger.

for me Sukuna pretty much is like Meruem - he similar like Maki but born premature, so he had two bodies and soul in one body (prob this is the reason why he said unwanted child) - he can consume someone and getting strong - he also genius from the start and had very" strong ce like yuta for matches against Maki I really still do fell like, experience will lead Sukuna to win, and mid fight he consume someone prob to get his DE back and do some fuga actions, kinda sad since Maki was fav char in the series. 😥 this is just my predictions peace ✌
Something popped in my head listening to this episode and soul shape things. I seem to recall a certain sorcerer who is doing a Schrödinger’s cat atm. Whose cursed techniques could travel through familial bonds, but also attacked the soul. Whose purpose in the story was often grounding the characters around her and/or raising their fighting spirits when everything seems hopeless or too insane to keep going on. Maybe Megumi needs more than 1 main character to pull him out of this one. If not more than 1 main character, at least one who hasn’t become a broken cog.
I'm sure someone has already mentioned this but Sukuna did indeed use the world slash against Maki. The first 2 chants can be seen written in small dialogue boxes amidst the rubble of the building thrown at Maki in the prior panel.
While we do know for a fact that Sukuna has more in his bag (black box, explaining his technique) and him being bitten by the bugs he failed to squash fits my PERSONAL agenda, the fact is that Uraume has no idea what Sukuna has been going through in that domain. So despite there being some truth to it, Sukuna doesn’t have AS MUCH of an overwhelming advantage as they think (it’s Sukuna tho, so there’s still absolutely an overwhelming advantage)

There's no time pressure on the merger. He can win this, wait a couple of weeks, and then start the merger with Tengen. The merger can only start after all the culling game players are dead anyway, so he can just wait to hunt them down. No need to save energy for that.
What if shoko learned DE and it's sure hit effect is a repair/heal mechanic. Those on the brink of death or possibly even the dead could be rejuvenated
Yep. Shoko was comfirmed to have been born knowing how to heal (like a heavenly pact, appearently), so there is a good chance that her DE would allow some sort of healing as well. There's also that student who helped Yuji and Nobara in Shibuya. He can keep injuries from getting worse, which would give Gojo and Yuta time to heal themselves. Especially if he got some sort of DE. And really with everything Sukuna still has to show, we need more sorcerers to finish this. Maki and Yuji can't carry this to the end alone.

About the World Dismantle chant, he did use the full chant. It's just that the text bubbles were intentionally made small and kind of hidden in the rubble and sfx. I guess it was just Gege's way of showing that Sukuna was trying to prevent Maki from hearing the chant though she was able to pick up on the last part and dodge the attack.

Sukuna wasn't a cursed spirit, or he wouldn't have needed to become cursed objects. Curses don't age. Sukuna understands his soul, he could repair it but since Maki blade strikes the soul directly and since Gojo weakened his rct and Yuji soul punches he has a harder time repairing it.
Quick clarification question @The Weeb Commander - Was it 100% confirmed that Sukuna was a cursed spirit when he split his soul in 20 fragments? Going off some long ago memories here, Gojo mentions Sukuna was an actual sorcerer who ist't. Also, Kenny commented out his hybrid curse look when he captured Tengen. Other than that, I think the reason Uru is mentioning Sukuna is not going out is because of Fugs (open). Sukuna is the opposite of a blessed, awaekend sorcerer. In Budihism, there are layers of hell with different degrees of fire, flame, molten lava, and toture. I believe the gate opening refers to Sukuna being able to access this realms and their tortuous cruely. Also, Maki almost died from burns. Seeing large scale fire attacks may trigger PTSD and or hesitation. I think the part where he was silenced around mentioning Fuga, it has to deal with which gate of hell is he opening.. She also mentioned fighting her is like Mahoraga. I see the flame attack coming in here. I think its going to come down to everyone being dead but Yuji and Megumi. Yuju will eventually land some black flashes and attempt some sort of domain, maybe the less lethal type Tengen mentioned that was more prevalent. This would allow Megumi's barrierless, incomplete domain, to be saled in. I also have a feeling that Yuji forming a domain will likely be a result of a binding vowel for death. It might even be so powerful that could grab the souls o the fallen and re-attach to everyone who perished vs Sukuna during this fight.

Goku was very capable of killing cell he just f it up by blasting half his body . Goku literally and to crouch down and aim his full power khamaha up because if it hit the earth he would have killed everyone on it . That's why I liked it when he used other people moves in DBS because I always feel like Goku is holding back with the Khamaha since it can easily destroy a planet since it's a constant beam of energy that will digg through a planet if you aim it incorrectly.
Like many ppl said in this comment section he is not saying she is as powerful as mahoraga, he said "she can read my attacks better than most of the sorcerers", "it feels like fighting mahoraga", to me he is saying "she seeing the slashes like mahoraga". Futhermore prove of this is that Sukuna is known to not fully use all of his abilities nerfing himself on purpose because he wants to have fun. Examples of he "having fun": Using a fire technique to finish Jogo Playing with mahoraga to understand how it works Going the "rieskier" way in the domain clash(winning anyway and then calling gojo "painfully ordinary") Use mahoraga in order to improve his CT so he will be able to bypass any shield or protection ability. Not using 10S after achieving world cutting slash(he could hide in shadows or use one of the 10S that is not dead) He didnt even use fuga( Didnt even explain his technique and we didnt know if fuga is all he got) Fully take higuruma DE to see the ex sword. He chose to fight inside yutas domain while he could either use the world cutting slash from the beginning. If anything Gege is trying to nerf sukuna by making him take all of the antisukuna squad attacks just for fun. Nerf his RCT output for 10+ chapters. Not using all of his techniques because it would not be fun i guess.
As far as megumi being the final big bad, gege did say the clues on the first cover page, ie the toad having sukuna's tattoos, were a hint to the endgame. So it's possible megumi becomes a fallen as well.
Sukuna certainly has not disappointed in terms of hype & legend. I love that the villain is an actual threat to the plot. Even if he loses in the end no one can say he didn’t try. He is him!!

Any body else see the parallel between sakuna “not giving it his all” and gojo “not giving it his all”. Imean sure maybe sakuna hasn’t given it his all but that’s more dangerous for him than it was gojo since gojo has friends that will aid him (heal him/revive him) and sakuna does not? During the afterlife panel Gojo somewhat admitted the a regret he had was not going all out. I believe plot wise thats a lesson learned that gege wanted the character to evolve with. Not die with. No one can heal from soul attacks. That's the whole point. The only thing is that not everyone can attack the soul and Sukuna can take a lot more damage to the soul than any other person.

Yh i don't understand how he equated maki to maho when he was clearly refering to her ability to see his attacks. Not even gojo couldn see it hence why he was always surprised and had to look back to his the attack had gone past him when he had infinity active. I think sukuna definitely has another ace up his sleeve that we haven’t been introduced to yet. He still seems a bit too unbothered to truly be on the brink of defeat and have no backup plans. It feels like we’re being setup for some catastrophe things are going all too well at the moment.
My theory: megumi uses Mahoraga to fight the merger with tengen and japan after sukunas defeat. Geto Is talking about megumi inheriting his will after sukuna made megumi go through alot.
Based on the conversation with Hikari, it seems like Sukana's innate CT may be the more interested he is in the fight, or the stronger an opponent, the more his CE rises.
Even *IF* he means literally like Mahoraga, the only reason he said he'll be instantly dead was because of the Blade of Extermination, if she is as strong as Mahoraga without the blade, that's probably not great considering the only reason Mahoraga lasted that long was because he had crazy regeneration and adaptation, without those he'd be dead in the first 5 minutes of the fight. And that was at 15 fingers.
I think this is all pointing to Sukuna getting a new vessel. There is really no reason to stick with Megumi anymore. He got Megumi because he wanted Mahoraga, but that is no longer a factor. And we've seen how fast he can switch vessels. Of course, he'd need an vessel he can subjugate easily. So someone like Uraume or Ino are the top candidates right now. And there are theories that he may be able to use Tengen as a vessel before the merger.
Sukuna wasn't a cursed spirit 1000 years ago. He was a sorcerer and made a deal of some kind with Kenny and turned himself into a cursed object. Still unconfirmed why he looks the way he does. My best guess is he made a deal with an idle transfiguration user in the past or he was a conjoined twin

I went to rewatch the Sukuna VS Mahoraga fight and before the translations for sukuna's techniques and domain were Cleave, Dismantle, and Malevolent Shrine But now they were changed to fillet, Dissect, and Malevolent Kitchen........... like huh did i miss something when i first watched it or was this recently changed as a nod to what his techniques are truly revolved around.
In his battle against Maho, Sukuna implies that Maho might have been capable of defeating him, at that time when Megumi attempted to summon Maho back at the juvenile detention center arc. But was interrupted by Yuji regaining control. This scenario involved Sukuna at a mere three-finger strength, significantly inferior to his later confrontation with Maho at fifteen fingers. Although the exact power equivalence of Maho to Sukuna's fingers is ambiguous, the suggestion that a slightly less powerful Sukuna (perhaps by a few fingers, with “a couple” typically indicating two to four) would have been vulnerable to defeat is somewhat speculative. It’s important to note that even with just two fingers, Sukuna could access his Domain Expansion, and presumably other Cursed Techniques like his flame and slash abilities, albeit with reduced Cursed Energy. Therefore, a Sukuna with eight or ten fingers (depending on one’s interpretation of “a couple”) would likely still surpass Maho in combat effectiveness, even if his Cursed Energy output isn’t as formidable as it would be at fifteen fingers.
He probably made that comparison because they're the only two characters who dodged or deflected his technique. (not counting Kashimo cause he was literally given notes and still failed to dodge it completely)
If there is another final boss, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a corrupted Megumi or something like that. We have yet to see him use his domain expansion perfectly, so it would be nice to see it used in something else's hands.

It seems the group understands that Sukuna has one more form or so that he is holding back. I think right now they're doing everything they can to draw out this power before returning all the injured or "Dead" for one final show down.
Uraume simply cannot picture sukuna losing, so feeling that his curse energy waves have gone down, would mean to Uraume that hes not trying when in actuality, that mans is getting jumped and is fighting at 10% power at this point. Otherwise its just inconsistant writing. Sukuna said himself that his cursed energy has been getting low, having him holding back would make no sense, aside from his fire arrow, which he has yet to use. He's not holding back, he's just not going all out. Why would he take this much of a jumping and still not use his flames? It couldn't damage gojo but im damn sure it can help against the jujutsu fodder. Unless there was a data book, or Gege saying something, I still get hung up on why people say that the "world cutting" slash is different than a Cleave, let me explain. The chant he performs isn't the chant for a world cleave, its the chant for his technique period. Its like when Gojo started his fight with Sukuna he performed his chant to fire his Maximum Purple. You can use your techniques without a chant, however the power they can output is lower (think Bleach where Kido can be performed by calling its number and name, or you can perfom the chant for a maximum output).
Every chant is not automatically the use of the World Cleave, but it does imply that Sukuna has been pushed to the point that he has to hit people with the highest output he can now as non-chanted cleaves and dismantles are not cutting it. Also a world cutting cleave was only needed against Gojo who could not be hit by anything while the Infinity was operational, it makes no sense for the strongest sorceror on Earth right now to have to use anything more than a maximum output Dismantle and Cleave on his enemies. He doesn't have to target the entirety of space and time to cut Yuta, Yuji, Maki, or anyone he is currently fighting.
Of course I could have said all this and it is actually been previously revealed and said that World Cutting is this new ace attack that he needs all the time, but honestly we keep gassing up an attack that frankly is no longer needed and is just a chanted Cleave with a more abstract target.

Good observation, this has been my thoughts as well. It also proves that he never needed maho to actually bypass infinity but rather adapt to it so his attacks work regardless of if gojo has it on or not. But if just wanted to kill gojo outright then maho isn't needed.

Here me out Sukuna, Kenjaku and Tengen was the original trio, so it would make sense for Sukuna to lose and not be the final boss, then Tengen merger happens thus bringing the final big bad, then that way the original trio is taken out the picture to allow the birth of the new age of Jujutsu being the remainder of the current generations trio.

If anyone was holding back it was Gojo, despite what he said he still wanted to save Megumi. Gojo could've floated and Purple'd Sukuna inside Unlimited Void, but he decided to hand-to-hand him. Even after Sukuna got hit with UV, Gojo only wanted to make Sukuna near dead, Gojo could've finished Sukuna with ranged attacks from a distance.

Buildings don’t need the cleave adjustments, so it more cost effective to have it be dismantle. Also he might not count as touching them if they don’t have curse entertain, so that’s why he uses dismantle on them.
Normal cleave needs Sukuna to touch someone to work. Dismantle is the attacks he fires.

Something popped in my head listening to this episode and soul shape things. I seem to recall a certain sorcerer who is doing a Schrödinger’s cat atm. Whose cursed techniques could travel through familial bonds, but also attacked the soul. Whose purpose in the story was often grounding the characters around her and/or raising their fighting spirits when everything seems hopeless or too insane to keep going on. Maybe Megumi needs more than 1 main character to pull him out of this one. If not more than 1 main character, at least one who hasn’t become a broken cog.

I'm sure someone has already mentioned this but Sukuna did indeed use the world slash against Maki. The first 2 chants can be seen written in small dialogue boxes amidst the rubble of the building thrown at Maki in the prior panel.
While we do know for a fact that Sukuna has more in his bag (black box, explaining his technique) and him being bitten by the bugs he failed to squash fits my PERSONAL agenda, the fact is that Uraume has no idea what Sukuna has been going through in that domain.
So despite there being some truth to it, Sukuna doesn’t have AS MUCH of an overwhelming advantage as they think (it’s Sukuna tho, so there’s still absolutely an overwhelming advantage)

We also have to remember that sukuna is probably trying to save energy for after the merger. He just wants to fight so of course he’s gonna save some power for after this but that’s now to his detriment
There's no time pressure on the merger. He can win this, wait a couple of weeks, and then start the merger with Tengen. The merger can only start after all the culling game players are dead anyway, so he can just wait to hunt them down. No need to save energy for that.
What if shoko learned DE and it's sure hit effect is a repair/heal mechanic. Those on the brink of death or possibly even the dead could be rejuvenated
Yep. Shoko was comfirmed to have been born knowing how to heal (like a heavenly pact, appearently), so there is a good chance that her DE would allow some sort of healing as well. There's also that student who helped Yuji and Nobara in Shibuya. He can keep injuries from getting worse, which would give Gojo and Yuta time to heal themselves. Especially if he got some sort of DE.
And really with everything Sukuna still has to show, we need more sorcerers to finish this. Maki and Yuji can't carry this to the end alone.

About the World Dismantle chant, he did use the full chant. It's just that the text bubbles were intentionally made small and kind of hidden in the rubble and sfx. Sukuna understands his soul, he could repair it but since Maki blade strikes the soul directly and since Gojo weakened his rct and Yuji soul punches he has a harder time repairing it.

Quick clarification question @The Weeb Commander - Was it 100% confirmed that Sukuna was a cursed spirit when he split his soul in 20 fragments? Going off some long ago memories here, Gojo mentions Sukuna was an actual sorcerer who ist't. Also, Kenny commented out his hybrid curse look when he captured Tengen.
Other than that, I think the reason Uru is mentioning Sukuna is not going out is because of Fugs (open). Sukuna is the opposite of a blessed, awaekend sorcerer. In Budihism, there are layers of hell with different degrees of fire, flame, molten lava, and toture. I believe the gate opening refers to Sukuna being able to access this realms and their tortuous cruely. Also, Maki almost died from burns. Seeing large scale fire attacks may trigger PTSD and or hesitation. I think the part where he was silenced around mentioning Fuga, it has to deal with which gate of hell is he opening.. She also mentioned fighting her is like Mahoraga. I see the flame attack coming in here.
I think its going to come down to everyone being dead but Yuji and Megumi. Yuju will eventually land some black flashes and attempt some sort of domain, maybe the less lethal type Tengen mentioned that was more prevalent. This would allow Megumi's barrierless, incomplete domain, to be saled in. I also have a feeling that Yuji forming a domain will likely be a result of a binding vowel for death. It might even be so powerful that could grab the souls o the fallen and re-attach to everyone who perished vs Sukuna during this fight.
In chapter 237 it’s states that Sukuna has one way of repairing flesh and that’s resuming transformation of a curse taking fleshly form.

Goku literally and to crouch down and aim his full power khamaha up because if it hit the earth he would have killed everyone on it . That's why I liked it when he used other people moves in DBS because I always feel like Goku is holding back with the Khamaha since it can easily destroy a planet since it's a constant beam of energy that will digg through a planet if you aim it incorrectly.
Like many ppl said in this comment section he is not saying she is as powerful as mahoraga, he said "she can read my attacks better than most of the sorcerers", "it feels like fighting mahoraga", to me he is saying "she seeing the slashes like mahoraga".
Futhermore prove of this is that Sukuna is known to not fully use all of his abilities nerfing himself on purpose because he wants to have fun.

Going the "rieskier" way in the domain clash(winning anyway and then calling gojo "painfully ordinary")

Not using 10S after achieving world cutting slash(he could hide in shadows or use one of the 10S that is not dead)
He didnt even use fuga( Didnt even explain his technique and we didnt know if fuga is all he got)

If anything Gege is trying to nerf sukuna by making him take all of the antisukuna squad attacks just for fun. Nerf his RCT output for 10+ chapters. Not using all of his techniques because it would not be fun i guess.

As far as megumi being the final big bad, gege did say the clues on the first cover page, ie the toad having sukuna's tattoos, were a hint to the endgame. So it's possible megumi becomes a fallen as well.
I love how we've already seen yuji's domain but nobody knows so even if we don't actually see him use it, we know what it looks lik

Any body else see the parallel between sakuna “not giving it his all” and gojo “not giving it his all”. No one can heal from soul attacks. That's the whole point. The only thing is that not everyone can attack the soul and Sukuna can take a lot more damage to the soul than any other person.

Yh i don't understand how he equated maki to maho when he was clearly refering to her ability to see his attacks. Not even gojo couldn see it hence why he was always surprised and had to look back to his the attack had gone past him when he had infinity active. And when it eventually adapted to infinity, the fight was already over because you can't dodge what you can't see.

I think sukuna definitely has another ace up his sleeve that we haven’t been introduced to yet. He still seems a bit too unbothered to truly be on the brink of defeat and have no backup plans. It feels like we’re being setup for some catastrophe things are going all too well at the moment.
My theory: megumi uses Mahoraga to fight the merger with tengen and japan after sukunas defeat. Geto Is talking about megumi inheriting his will after sukuna made megumi go through alot.

Based on the conversation with Hikari, it seems like Sukana's innate CT may be the more interested he is in the fight, or the stronger an opponent, the more his CE rises.

Even *IF* he means literally like Mahoraga, the only reason he said he'll be instantly dead was because of the Blade of Extermination, if she is as strong as Mahoraga without the blade, that's probably not great considering the only reason Mahoraga lasted that long was because he had crazy regeneration and adaptation, without those he'd be dead in the first 5 minutes of the fight.
And that was at 15 fingers.
I think this is all pointing to Sukuna getting a new vessel. There is really no reason to stick with Megumi anymore. He got Megumi because he wanted Mahoraga, but that is no longer a factor. And we've seen how fast he can switch vessels.
Of course, he'd need an vessel he can subjugate easily. So someone like Uraume or Ino are the top candidates right now. And there are theories that he may be able to use Tengen as a vessel before the merger.

I went to rewatch the Sukuna VS Mahoraga fight and before the translations for sukuna's techniques and domain were Cleave, Dismantle, and Malevolent Shrine But now they were changed to fillet, Dissect, and Malevolent Kitchen........... like huh did i miss something when i first watched it or was this recently changed as a nod to what his techniques are truly revolved around.
In his battle against Maho, Sukuna implies that Maho might have been capable of defeating him, at that time when Megumi attempted to summon Maho back at the juvenile detention center arc. But was interrupted by Yuji regaining control. This scenario involved Sukuna at a mere three-finger strength, significantly inferior to his later confrontation with Maho at fifteen fingers. Although the exact power equivalence of Maho to Sukuna's fingers is ambiguous, the suggestion that a slightly less powerful Sukuna (perhaps by a few fingers, with “a couple” typically indicating two to four) would have been vulnerable to defeat is somewhat speculative. If there is another final boss, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a corrupted Megumi or something like that. We have yet to see him use his domain expansion perfectly, so it would be nice to see it used in something else's hands.
