“His father” refers to Megumi’s father, Toji. Because Gojo did imply that he’d eventually tell Megumi about Toji so he probably told Shoko to do it- meaning Gojo does believe Megumi will be separated from Sukuna at some point

Whenever I watch his videos, I feel like he just reads the cliff notes. He pronounces even anime names wrong and gets so many small details wrong. Terrible memory or making videos with cliff notes for hype. It’s strange because he always talks about how much time he spends “researching” for videos.
Corrections list. 1: When Gege said "Either one dies, or they all die." The were specifically referring to either Itadori dying or everyone dying. Because it was stated in both the first chapter and the first episode that Itadori will be killed so as to kill off Sukuna. 2: Shoko didn't bring Yuji back to life. Sukuna did after getting Yuji to make the binding vow that he could take over his body for 1 minute if he utters "Unchain." and doesn't harm anyone in that minute. 3: Small one here, it's been about 2 months since Shibuya. Gojo and Sukuna have their battle on Christmas meaning that Gojo died exactly a year after he killed Geto. They died on the same day which is morbidly romantic in a way. 4: Not a correction, just something I find funny. I love how when Nick was talking about Gojo being the number 1 most popular character in the polls, the editor showed the one poll where he was number 2 and Megumi was number 1.
Yeah I remember the author saying either all of itadoris friends and family dies in the process of killing Sakuna and the villains, or only itadori dies in that process

I believe that Cleave, in addition to cutting space, can also cut through character development, continuity, a person's will to live, and their consciousness, because that's the only way I can explain the fact that Gojo just instantly died and started glazing Sukuna instead of trying to put himself back together or doing one final attack
His six eyes probably didn't analyze Sukuna's attack in time for him to activate RCT. Like Gojo said, only he and Sukuna knows about suffering from success. Not even us can understand it.
Well because Gojo was fucking depressed and he knew that his purpose had been fulfilled. His goal was to train a group of jujutsu sorcerers who would be able to match him in strength. And he has, Yuji, Yuta, Hakari and Megumi are all powerful sorcerers. They might not have him as a sensei anymore but that doesn't mean they won't continue to grow. He's happy with how he died, and he's happy that he finally gets to be back with his best friend.
The script Nick writes is hilarious to me. Mainly because i generally never feel as strongly lol. But, he speaks/writes with such candor it is pleasant. It is nice to see him get so wrapped up in anime and manga. His inner child being able to express itself with the clarity of an adult.
my personal problem with the chapter is Gojo admitting there was a vast differences in strength btw him and Sukuna. I mean throughout the majority of the fight not a moment did he look like he was outclassed (excluding the time when he remembered toji) . He looked like he was going to win and was having fun. Admitting that just took away everything he got from the fight and that was absolutely disrespectful for someone like Gojo

I was only annoyed about the off screen. I knew Sukuna was going to eventually win, he has some similarities to Ging Freecss or August from fairy tail. Their understanding of their power systems is immaculate. Given all of them can basically look at an attack and realise how its done.

the only thing i hate HATE with burning passion is the fact that he got killed off-screen. I think it's more than fine for Gojo to die sliced in two, because that's the only way you can stop that man, or cutting his head off. But like you said, Gege only needing to draw two more panels, one of him realizing Sukuna was going to use cut him, him being like whatever and then another one where he is split and surprised, literally it wouldn't have taken him a lot of effort to make those panels. The death was primarily annoying to me that Gojo claims that Sukuna is stronger even though we read differently. And the ability to kill came from Megumi. The death has been compared to Yamamoto death. But they are so different because we got to see the full strength, and we immediately got excited for who replaces him, while we already knew about the 5 war powers and he wasnt one so we are now excited for them rising up. But now were just annoyed waiting for itadori to get stronger and megumi to get free. And until that happens, itll just be a drag.
The Gojo thinking Sukuna would beat him could be taken in 2 ways imo. 1 is Gojo didn't know what other techniques Sukuna was hiding and probably thought he didn't use them cause he didn't want to show all his cards and Sukuna himself wanted to enjoy the fight. 2 is with Sukuna's amount of knowledge, experience and skill in Jujutsu Gojo probably thought Sukuna might've figured it out either way. I personally feel it quiet odd that Sukuna didn't think of such a simple thing before considering the iq this man has. Cause this whole technique expansion to target the surrounding area instead of a single target thing was already used by Nanami way back in chapter 23.
Exactly! I’m cool with Gojo dying but saying he was that much below Sukuna AND he wouldn’t have won even if he didn’t have the 10 shadows is crazy. It was already established that a previous 10 shadows user defeated the last 6 eyes infinity user so it’s believable. On top of that what we were shown was those 2 going all out so it’s no way Sukuna wins with his CT alone

For Gege to put this out that means going forward we are going to see some sukuna op hax vs kashimo and the heavy hitters which will explain why Gojo said that statement.
I think a mangaka not being afraid to kill off a main character every now and then is a sign of a good anime. It gets boring when you know every main character will be happy and safe in the end. Part of why CSM is my favorite still running manga. Also we don't know for sure Gojo's dead. There are multiple people here who can pull off second hand reverse curse technique and Sakuna has his hands too full with Kashimo to do anything about it.

Im pretty sure truly max level RCT like the one posses by Sukuna (literally healing yuuji’s heart) or Hakari’s jackpot invincibility frame are the only ones that can have an impact on reviving Gojo.
i think the reason gojo said he might struggle against against sukuna without 10S, is mainly cause even he couldn't force sukuna to deviate from his plan, even though he dog-walked him for like 80% of the fight. Sukuna came in with a plan, to use the 10S, and walked out having used that plan successfully. Like you said, Sukuna also has most likely a couple other techniques we haven't seen that Gojo couldn't force him to use in the fight. Gojo used everything he had in his arsenal while Sukuna only used cleave, dismantle, Malevolent Shrine and the 10S exclusively. Meaning Sukuna did not feel the need to use them even though Gojo was abusing him for last five chapters after the domoain clash. Lastly, IMO I think Sukuna has a higher level of knowledge of Cursed energy than Gojo and how fast Sukuna can understand concepts. So I think Sukuna might have had something to bypass infinity (not while he was in yuji, but maybe in his Heian era form), whether it's his weapons or something, not sure but there has to be a reason Gojo would have said this.
Is not about forcing, I think sukuna knows other techniques wouldn't work against gojo, would be a waste of time and energy because of Mugen. The fire arrow doesn't hit him, and even though we saw dismantle and cleave he only used it 2 times and the first time was useless so he never used it again. The thing that he caunt on to counter Mugen was maroraga and his domain expansion. Any other thing sukuna knew it was useless.

I'm almost certain that the afterlife scene's final message about hoping it was real is supposed to be implying that Gojo isn't sure if he's really dead and in an afterlife or simply imagining it in his final moments as he dies. He doesn't know if there _is_ an afterlife, but in this moment, he wants to believe that it's real.
Yes, I think this is true. He knows he is dying and he hopes he is in the afterlife with his friends instead of the afterlife not even existing and Gojo just imagining them during his last moments

Gege has always disliked Gojo, and he has always said that this manga isn't ending happily. Honestly if only Yuji and Sukuna are left standing at the end of the manga that might be too happy of an ending. But honestly 236 is abrupt, but it is exactly what happened to him when he faced Toji. He dropped his guard completely and got offed. But I think Gojo is going to get up from this and finally just be Gojo. Not the strongest, just Gojo.

The father thing refers to Toji for Megumi. Personally when he talks about the pipe dream my take was he was referring to whats hes done with the students in his life. He gave everything he possibly had, and it wasnt enough, so now all he can do is leave it in their hands and hope they can change everything. Hes basically saying even if he couldnt do it he hopes it wasnt all for nothing. The explanation for how Sukuna adapted his slash is just terrible. So either Infinity is stupid or Sukuna can cut space/time. All of the powerscaling issues are now on Sukuna and Gege is going to have to write around him instead of Gojo. JJK and its power system are so well thought out and logical that so long as you accept that cursed energy exists everything makes alot of sense and isnt hard to follow. Which is why this feels like a complete asspull compared to everything else in the series to this point.
Let Gege cook, as much as I am sad that Goatjo died. Chapter 236 was really good I had mixed emotions and kept me in on the edge of my seat. He did a good ass job, seeing as he got the reaction he wanted. The pain of loss and heartbreak 💯

I don’t mind the idea of Gojo dying. It raises the stakes for our protagonist to rise to the occasion and secure the win. My issue lies with the fact that Gojo was even written to begin with. As a writer, on some level you have to care about your characters to some extent-I’m not demanding you don’t pick favorites-I’m saying that in my opinion there is no universe where you are forced to write a character you hate.
Which is why he was first removed from the story as quickly as possible and then killed off shortly after being brought back. Gojo only exsisted as a benchmark for how strong Sakuna was and how screwed everyone would truly be if he revived. Then Gojo got popular at the expense of the characters that actually mattered
Exactly! In addition, I can't get behind the idea that the stakes couldn't get high with Gojo in the story (or any "overpowered" character). You can simply make the enemies(s) someone who's (are) dangerous for reasons that are not (strictly) related to their powers/physical strength/combat abilities. Someone that you can't just "kill" without massive negative consequences (maybe someone in a position of political power? someone loved by people? And so on). Or you can use the multiple front treats (like Kenjaku on one side and Sukuna on the other) to keep the focus of Gojo on one of the treats, thus rendering him unable to come to Yuji's help in fighting the second one. Instead of putting the emphasis of the story on the more dangerous enemy in a traditional shonen sense, you can choose to put an emphasis on the more personal enemy of the protagonist, and let someone like Gojo deal with the more traditional one. "High" stakes don't have to mean more destruction either. The conflict can be a lot subtler, more psychological, and more emotional than this. It could be about the protagonist risking losing themself in order to win for instance. In conclusion, as a fellow writer, I don't get this attitude towards a character they've created either. Don't create them in the first place then. Or adapt your story in a creative way.

I knew Gojo would die or be seriously maimed and out of the game. The problem as you said was the off-screen death and disrespect along with some of the conversation he had in the after life was just not with his character or true. I strangely did think he was gonna win against Sukuna and the story then focus to defeating Kenjaku with Gojo at minimum incapacitated because like who is gonna defeat Sukuna now when the honored one can't. Which the only person I want to see defeat Sukuna now is Megumi. I want him to wake up and overcome Sukuna.
Killing off screen is actually a great technique in gruesome horror. It opens up the unsettling question of how that could leave to a great build up once revealed and until then it’s just puzzling fear.

I've heard theories about what happens after gojo dies. My favourite is kashimo gets clapped cause sukuna can cut through everything and gets hit with a direct soul attack from nobara who has the last finger gojo was hiding obviously not on his person. I think it would be a great way to bring in the possibly not dead nobara and have gojo's sacrifice mean something other than powering up sukuna
From the time i saw the leaks i was like oh "gojo died" 😐 not surprising since it was basically gojo vs the plot he had to lose/die but when i saw how he "died" i was like GEGE THE FUCK? Ever since I've watched Akame ga kill I've always thought that this is what makes a good anime/manga all because it absolutely breaks your expectations We all knew Naruto was going to become Hokage We all know Oda will have Luffy find the one piece stuff like this makes you actually feel and realize that the world they are making has consequences and they are real for everyone.

I mean I've read Akame ga kill before, and sure it broke expectations but it wasn't out of no where. People seem to have a misconception about that all expectation subversions are the same, but they are not. With Akame ga kill it subverts our expectations, but it properly already laid out the world they were in. Even when we first see Tatsumi save those people, everyone warned him how horrible the Empire is, and how the people are terrible there. Multiple times we were given these clues in the first couple of chapters. So that when it hits us, sure it subverts our expectations, but it makes sense. These last couple of months from JJK just seem like a waste of time. I felt like it served no purpose to the story, other than to artificially inflate it. It was an awesome fight but ultimately meaningless. The situation hasn't changed, they're still fucked. Gojo really didn't do anything. Sukuna's power up didn't really mean anything, it was an ass pull through and through. Not to mention he doesn't really need it for anyone other than Gojo since no one else has Limitless. I could be wrong about all of this. But it's amazing how one chapter can completely spit in the faces of readers who read it weekly. With an ass pull power up we don't even get to see, it just seems like i wasted my time. The story is right back to where we were to when Gojo was still sealed. Nothing has changed. No one really had any character development these past months other than Gojo, and he's dead now soooo..... Sukuna didn't really have any development, I thought he did, but apparently he was holding back the entire time so, yeah never mind, he learned nothing. All in all, it's not the correct way to subvert expectations. If no proper context was planted prior this is just bad writing.
One theory which I thought was interesting was the lotus flowers. Lotus flowers symbolize “rebirth” and “strength”when I looked it up. So call it copium but I don’t think this is the last time we will see gojo. Something else I would add is that gojo’s head is still intact. And if the logic from the fight with toji still stands he can still use cursed reversal technique to heal himself since his head is still intact and thus his brain is unharmed which he said was the reason toji lost. Not to mention he smiles in response to what sakuna says which means he’s still conscious. Of course with this all being a theory and just past knowledge. Him dying is definitely an odd choice here but I think gojo is just getting Levi’d. Author wanted to give characters other time in the spotlight so sitting him out makes sense. Authors do this a lot with op characters anyways. I mean look at goku lol. How many times has akira killed goku and let the other z fighters take over. Only time will tell

I honestly would’ve preferred if before the fight gojo helped the students get stronger and complete his goal, then fight sukana, losing is fine as much as I love him as a character he had to unfortunately to allow the story to progress. But even if him and sukana fought to a draw and say kenjaku killed him with a cheap shot I would almost been more satisfied with that as he would have still dead as the strongest. Then the students have to fight sukana and kenjaku together

I think Gojo might use Kashimo as a stalemate for him to use RCT and recover while trying how to counter Sukuna dimensional slash, as we all know Gojo is a genius and his six eyes help him process things a lot faster so he might actually be able to counter the slash next time around. That “afterlife” scene is nice and touching but for Gojo to accept defeat and say that he was no match for Sukuna even without Megumi’s 10 shadows is absolutely bad writing and it negates all of Gojo’s principles, morales and even his whole personality..
I feel like it’s possible for gojo to be alive, but I don’t think we would see him again till a climax moment where multiple people are working to fight sukuna and gojo ends up helping out or something, then he dies. Also finally battle gotta be yuji vs kenjaku with both of them dying.
Multiple reasons why it won't happen. The first reason is that half the chapter takes place in the afterlife with gojo saying good bye. Second reason is sukuna would one shot him if he came back with adaptive cleave. The third reason is RCT can't be used when you can't move your CE from your stomach to your head. The fourth reason is gege is a good writer and if you want a good story you need to do the opposite of what gojo meat riders want cuz they're illiterate.

Okay hear me out! Maybe thats a long shot , but didn't the airport scene remind you of Harry Potter's death scene? Dumbledore shows up and Harry is at Kings Cross station. He also didn't know if it was real or "just in his head" and Harry could decide if he was going or not! Gojo is at the airport, he also asked if it was real or not, people from his past were there and Nanami told him he could also decide to go south or north!
There is so many corrections that are needed in this video because the official translation came out. There is no gojos father dialogue, there is no goodbye to his friends, there is a better written explanation of what sukuna did + death fr "+sukuna didnt go all out" gojo said + probably they pull a senzu bean bit to heal sukuna+ there is no use of "yorozus gift", sukuna just used mahoraga so he can beat gojo with his technique, thats why when he intend to end the fight with his DE he called him mediocre, he was looking to use him(Gojo) to further improve his CT and he seemed unhappy finishing the fight without achieving that. Right now even if gojo does come back by the lords grace and the strongest asspull in history (imagine being so high on copium), dismantle and cleave surpass infinity with ease. I dont hate sukuna because in this fight even if at the beginning he looked like a a fraud, "king of curses"? more like king of ClOWnS, but now re reading all the fight again it seems like he was limiting himself, I always asked myself why did he not use any fire technique and only use dismantle one time? Honestly using mahoraga to improve his CT was so good. His battle IQ was better than gojos, using another person innate CT, improve it and only to gain time for mahoraga to adapt and use something he can obtain. It would have been a 10/10 chapter if Gojo didnt die offscreen tho.

the ending of a fight truly can make or break a fight : this fight between sukuma and gojo had so much potential but fell flat at the end, unlike meruem vs netero (I see alot of parallel between the two fights). problem his gege made a terrible argument for sukuna being straight up the strongest, if you're straight up the strongest you can't be bailed out 3 times in a fight, first without Megumi soul he would be trap in unlimited void and defeated , second without mahoraga intervention after the being knockout by the black flash he's probably again dead , third without mahoraga giving him the cheatcode to defeating Gojo , and agito buying enough time for him to keep gojo busy he's probably again dead after the hollow purple explosion.
I do believe Sukuna held back at some level We only saw 10 Shadows because he couldnt use both Cleave and 10 Shadows at the same time, and he needed to learn how to cross Infinity with Mahoraga We did only saw one CT from Sukuna, since “◼️” was not used and Sukuna was pretty much equal in the Domain Clashes, so if he won, and did use everything, he did hold back by definition, which is terrifying
Kenjaku clearly didn't want Gojo dead in Shibuya instead of sealing him, because that would mean the birth of a new Six Eyes, which have (by "fate") always interfered with his plans in the past. This was talked about with Tengen before the CG started.
The JJK ship crashing has been coming a long time. I am so confused at Gege clearly disliking Gojo, you wrote him my guy. The outrage at Gojos death is clearly a symptom of Gege writing a charactar he couldn't manage and then just having to pull the trigger at some stage after it got out of control. Linking to the first point, a big problem with JJK is clearly to me that it lacks the foresight and planning of many other big manga. I think its a intereting case study in not having a clear idea of where you are heading and finding yourself in a sitation 250ish chapters in that you don't know how to finish anymore. I know Nick likes the power system, but man do I think that is also one of the big problems. It is very piecemeal and lacks fundamental comparable principles, which makes it very hard to have expectations regarding outcomes or possibilities of fights and interactions. The result is that everything by necessity is an asspull, as something gets introduced as it happens, which makes it feel cheap. Lastly, the biggest outrage is obviously due to the very inept 'shocking twist' Gege thought the off panel fight conclusion would be. There is a big difference between shocking your audience with an outcome but having it be satisfying because in hindsight all the groundwork and foreshadowing was there and just painting a picture through narrations and panels only to rip it up between panels and shouting 'fooled yah idiot'. The latter is bad writing, there's no storytelling feat in shock that isn't substantiated.
I feel like its rushed, if you care about what your doing and love your 'baby' in a sense, then it'd show through just like with Oda no matter how long it takes. I'm extremely disappointed in Gojo's demise, I felt like the man could have been taken out of the game without actually dying. (The dude was nearly killed once, sealed away for a long ass time, just to be released and die? Come on now that's some boo boo) And not only that but Sukuna is so OP now it'd take some a** pull move from the main character to defeat him. If anything he should have crippled Gojo enough to be out of the fight, but returns to his students to train them to take his place in trying to defeat Sukuna and Kenjaku. (lets not forget that dude is still running around) Because I feel like Itadori is not near strong enough to go one on one with Sukuna...
I really hope that in the next few chapters we see more of what the attack did instead of skipping a few minutes after the attack on Gojo. The fact that Gojo was mollywopping Sukuna while used 10 shadows with a fusion shadow and the ultimate shadow, to me says that a real 1v1 against these 2 would end with Gojo’s win since it looks like Sukuna only one with Megumi’s technique. I get that the author doesn’t really like Gojo much like Jiren in DBS, he’s a literal wall that others must get over to progress, but I don’t think the author would just drop Gojo without a plan.
I've seen this idea a lot, that Sukuna loses without 10S. It's kinda silly to me tho, since it requires one to believe 10S is substantially stronger than Sukuna's own Cursed Technique. That's a bit of a stretch, especially without any evidence to back it up.

My take on the whole Sukuna holding back thing was the way they both fought. Gojo was in his bag against Sukuna, truly freestyling with his cursed technique. Sukuna went into battle with a plan and stuck to it. In spite of everything Gojo did, killing his shikigami, SLEEPING Sukuna with a black flash, the touchdown Hollow Purple….NONE of that made Sukuna deviate from the plan. Also, Gojo seems to believe that Sukuna would’ve come up with that method of bypassing the limitless without Mahoraga, but…he had Mahoraga so why not use the cheat sheet? Lol
It's nice to see someone speak sense. I believe that in the entire fought, the only point where Sukuna truly felt threatened was when the narrator said he was nervous. He had a counter for UV. He had a counter for any case he might be knocked out. And since he was burden of the adaptation he was practically taking hits cause he needed to. But hey, everyone just ignores context and says Gojo was dogwalking Sukuna
I think the should've just left him sealed ,if the plot couldn't possibly move foward with him being there. The story that I was most interested in was gogo's plan to change jujutsu society , fostered students who could help him change it . All of that part of the story is lost , no closure with gojo and megumi , or yugi . I think the ending will be ass pulls one after another. There's no way anyone is strong enough to beat him if gojo couldn't. Then wish kashimo and the other guy. It was just pointless to just add them all of a sudden.
30:05..hikari was introduced way in the beginning during the "G.W.E between the Tokyo and Kyoto jujutsu schools because maki mentioned he was suspended and then we finally see him when megumi and yuji go to ask kirara and him to help out with getting gojo unsealed. He's the first person introduced with a C.E trait being really course like a file or low-grit sandpaper and kashimo is the 2nd with his trait making his C.E like electricity..
am i the only who is on sukuna's side. when gojo died it made my day. its nice to see authors divert from the norm. its a change of pace. and frankly i hope sukuna is the last man standing. i like how he is a pure villain who does not care abt anything
I am less upset at Gojo dying (because let's be honest: he had to if the plot was going to move forward), but moreso how it happened: I wouldn't be nearly as bothered if it wasn't an off-screen affair. But my other issue is where does Gego go from here, because he has written himself into a corner: Sukuna being as strong as he is, how do you take him down without pulling something out of thin air? And as for people dropping the manga, I understand: ever since Shibuya, the manga has become torture porn on par with the current Spider-Man run (if you know, you know).

Gojo isn’t dead. If you look at the first panel that showed gojos close up he has a bunch of blood over his mouth, however on the next panel where sukuna tell Gojo he did great Gojo doesn’t have as much blood around his mouth. He’s currently using reversed curse technique. & since Gojos head is still attached that means he is still capable to use RCT. One thing about gege akutami is that details are always key.
I mean you might be right, but at the same time it wouldn’t fit with Gege's writing. The only character he's killed off so far that might still be alive is Nobara and she's been gone longer than Gojo. Plus it would probably just make people even angrier if he gets brought back.
I saw that but honestly, CT doesn't make your blood evaporate. When Gojo revived for the first time he still was bloody in all the areas Toji attacked him, for example.

I haven't been watching the anime or reading the manga but I think I'm going to now. I always knew that if there was a manga that didn't adhere to the tropes of shonen anime, that people would flip their s*** and I'm all for it. Always wanted to read a shonen manga where it's just like, "heyan....shit happens."
Gojo was not referring to his own father. He was talking either Yuji or Megumi. Its not Megumi cuz Megumi said he didnt care about Toji, and theres not much to say. There is a lot of mystery around Yuji's father though especially cuz Yujis grandpa was about to reveal something about them. And Shoko can only talk to Yuji right now.
Sukuna was holding back we couldn’t see him use the black box, yorozu’s gift and any other techniques he got. Sukuna couldn’t fight like he wanted too because of Gojo’s infinity. Also he still have to fight Gojo’s students after. Sukuna could’ve still won without ten shadows but it will be way harder and a long drawn out battle it could’ve gone either way but then we see that if Sukuna gets pass infinty it’s wraps. Sukuna choose the easier riskier way to end the fight because of Mahoragra Very disappointed how Gojo was offscreened and it regress his character a bit.
One of Sakuna’s greatest ability I think is to copy other peoples personal technique because of his ability of understanding. So I believe that Soukouna has learned how to do reverse Chris technique after the interactions and combat he has had with Gojo so he’ll be up and ready to go anyway.😅
At this point it is pretty much ridicilous. He just sees one thing and then he is capable of doing it right away? I think that people would completely accept that being the case if Gege wasn't a fuking lazy bum of a writer and instead of stupid words and statements from other characters, he should create like 1 maybe 2 chapters for backstory of Sukuna so we as readers would understand his power and status much better. But Gege is not Oda sadly, so he doesn't care about fleshing out his characters properly.
I have a theory, and it's related to Yuji. Gege said Yuji's Domain wouldn't involve memory manipulation, so what if it was a one time use Domain where he can revive everyone he's lost at the cost of his own life? What if the series ends with Yuji activating his Domain, reviving his fallen comrades, and then him dying after saying goodbye to everyone?
This is just the 1st time that alot of people who always get tricked by the writer into liking the main character (because the writer makes it that way) have to deal with what the rest of us always have. U finally get what it feels like to be a Sasuke fan. Gets written out of the core of the plot for the majority of the time so the main character can shine and killed of screen like Sasuke just might have in Boruto. I actually also loved this fight, the writer is crazy in a good way

“His father” refers to Megumi’s father, Toji. Because Gojo did imply that he’d eventually tell Megumi about Toji so he probably told Shoko to do it- meaning Gojo does believe Megumi will be separated from Sukuna at some point

Whenever I watch his videos, I feel like he just reads the cliff notes. He pronounces even anime names wrong and gets so many small details wrong. Terrible memory or making videos with cliff notes for hype. It’s strange because he always talks about how much time he spends “researching” for videos.
Corrections list.
1: When Gege said "Either one dies, or they all die." The were specifically referring to either Itadori dying or everyone dying. Because it was stated in both the first chapter and the first episode that Itadori will be killed so as to kill off Sukuna.
2: Shoko didn't bring Yuji back to life. Sukuna did after getting Yuji to make the binding vow that he could take over his body for 1 minute if he utters "Unchain." and doesn't harm anyone in that minute.
3: Small one here, it's been about 2 months since Shibuya. Gojo and Sukuna have their battle on Christmas meaning that Gojo died exactly a year after he killed Geto. They died on the same day which is morbidly romantic in a way.
4: Not a correction, just something I find funny. I love how when Nick was talking about Gojo being the number 1 most popular character in the polls, the editor showed the one poll where he was number 2 and Megumi was number 1.

I believe that Cleave, in addition to cutting space, can also cut through character development, continuity, a person's will to live, and their consciousness, because that's the only way I can explain the fact that Gojo just instantly died and started glazing Sukuna instead of trying to put himself back together or doing one final attack
His six eyes probably didn't analyze Sukuna's attack in time for him to activate RCT. Like Gojo said, only he and Sukuna knows about suffering from success. Not even us can understand it.

Well because Gojo was fucking depressed and he knew that his purpose had been fulfilled. His goal was to train a group of jujutsu sorcerers who would be able to match him in strength. And he has, Yuji, Yuta, Hakari and Megumi are all powerful sorcerers. They might not have him as a sensei anymore but that doesn't mean they won't continue to grow. He's happy with how he died, and he's happy that he finally gets to be back with his best friend.

The script Nick writes is hilarious to me. Mainly because i generally never feel as strongly lol. But, he speaks/writes with such candor it is pleasant. It is nice to see him get so wrapped up in anime and manga. His inner child being able to express itself with the clarity of an adult.

I was only annoyed about the off screen. I knew Sukuna was going to eventually win, he has some similarities to Ging Freecss or August from fairy tail. Their understanding of their power systems is immaculate. Given all of them can basically look at an attack and realise how its done.

the only thing i hate HATE with burning passion is the fact that he got killed off-screen. I think it's more than fine for Gojo to die sliced in two, because that's the only way you can stop that man, or cutting his head off. But like you said, Gege only needing to draw two more panels, one of him realizing Sukuna was going to use cut him, him being like whatever and then another one where he is split and surprised, literally it wouldn't have taken him a lot of effort to make those panels. The death was primarily annoying to me that Gojo claims that Sukuna is stronger even though we read differently. And the ability to kill came from Megumi. The death has been compared to Yamamoto death. But they are so different because we got to see the full strength, and we immediately got excited for who replaces him, while we already knew about the 5 war powers and he wasnt one so we are now excited for them rising up. But now were just annoyed waiting for itadori to get stronger and megumi to get free. And until that happens, itll just be a drag.
The Gojo thinking Sukuna would beat him could be taken in 2 ways imo. 1 is Gojo didn't know what other techniques Sukuna was hiding and probably thought he didn't use them cause he didn't want to show all his cards and Sukuna himself wanted to enjoy the fight. 2 is with Sukuna's amount of knowledge, experience and skill in Jujutsu Gojo probably thought Sukuna might've figured it out either way.
I personally feel it quiet odd that Sukuna didn't think of such a simple thing before considering the iq this man has. Cause this whole technique expansion to target the surrounding area instead of a single target thing was already used by Nanami way back in chapter 23.

It was already established that a previous 10 shadows user defeated the last 6 eyes infinity user so it’s believable. For Gege to put this out that means going forward we are going to see some sukuna op hax vs kashimo and the heavy hitters which will explain why Gojo said that statement.
I think a mangaka not being afraid to kill off a main character every now and then is a sign of a good anime. It gets boring when you know every main character will be happy and safe in the end. Part of why CSM is my favorite still running manga. Also we don't know for sure Gojo's dead. There are multiple people here who can pull off second hand reverse curse technique and Sakuna has his hands too full with Kashimo to do anything about it.

Im pretty sure truly max level RCT like the one posses by Sukuna (literally healing yuuji’s heart) or Hakari’s jackpot invincibility frame are the only ones that can have an impact on reviving Gojo.

i think the reason gojo said he might struggle against against sukuna without 10S, is mainly cause even he couldn't force sukuna to deviate from his plan, even though he dog-walked him for like 80% of the fight. Sukuna came in with a plan, to use the 10S, and walked out having used that plan successfully.
Like you said, Sukuna also has most likely a couple other techniques we haven't seen that Gojo couldn't force him to use in the fight. Gojo used everything he had in his arsenal while Sukuna only used cleave, dismantle, Malevolent Shrine and the 10S exclusively. Meaning Sukuna did not feel the need to use them even though Gojo was abusing him for last five chapters after the domoain clash.
Lastly, IMO I think Sukuna has a higher level of knowledge of Cursed energy than Gojo and how fast Sukuna can understand concepts. So I think Sukuna might have had something to bypass infinity (not while he was in yuji, but maybe in his Heian era form), whether it's his weapons or something, not sure but there has to be a reason Gojo would have said this.
Is not about forcing, I think sukuna knows other techniques wouldn't work against gojo, would be a waste of time and energy because of Mugen. The fire arrow doesn't hit him, and even though we saw dismantle and cleave he only used it 2 times and the first time was useless so he never used it again. The thing that he caunt on to counter Mugen was maroraga and his domain expansion. Any other thing sukuna knew it was useless.

Chances are even withouth mahoraga as the fight progressed he could have found a way to cut through infinity it would have just taken more time.

1. I think that the chapter is supposed to show gojos and sukunas POV gojo died in an instant he literally did not know what hit him(also why it is oftscreen) (also gege prob does not want to show sukunas ability yet), so of course he would think that

this is my only fault from the chapter, though it seems like the attack sukuna used negates durability, though if this is true that attack is literally too op for the series. The only explanation I could think about is when he said "it was almost impossahle to produce the attack" which makes it seem like this attack could not easily be replicated multiple times.

I'm almost certain that the afterlife scene's final message about hoping it was real is supposed to be implying that Gojo isn't sure if he's really dead and in an afterlife or simply imagining it in his final moments as he dies. He doesn't know if there _is_ an afterlife, but in this moment, he wants to believe that it's real.
Yes, I think this is true. He knows he is dying and he hopes he is in the afterlife with his friends instead of the afterlife not even existing and Gojo just imagining them during his last moments

Gojo himself knows this that’s why they were told only to interfere when things look dire. So as to give his students time to stand where he once stood he keeps fighting. It is a much more fitting end for Gojo as he has shown to care a lot about his students, he would be willing to side with yuta against the higher ups. Not to mention it is a lot more respectful than him being offscreened and then glazing sukuna.
Gege has always disliked Gojo, and he has always said that this manga isn't ending happily. Honestly if only Yuji and Sukuna are left standing at the end of the manga that might be too happy of an ending.
But honestly 236 is abrupt, but it is exactly what happened to him when he faced Toji. He dropped his guard completely and got offed. But I think Gojo is going to get up from this and finally just be Gojo. Not the strongest, just Gojo.

I read the manga but I feel bad for all the people you spoiled with the title😭
The father thing refers to Toji for Megumi. Personally when he talks about the pipe dream my take was he was referring to whats hes done with the students in his life. He gave everything he possibly had, and it wasnt enough, so now all he can do is leave it in their hands and hope they can change everything. Hes basically saying even if he couldnt do it he hopes it wasnt all for nothing.
The explanation for how Sukuna adapted his slash is just terrible. So either Infinity is stupid or Sukuna can cut space/time. All of the powerscaling issues are now on Sukuna and Gege is going to have to write around him instead of Gojo. JJK and its power system are so well thought out and logical that so long as you accept that cursed energy exists everything makes alot of sense and isnt hard to follow. Which is why this feels like a complete asspull compared to everything else in the series to this point.

I don’t mind the idea of Gojo dying. It raises the stakes for our protagonist to rise to the occasion and secure the win. My issue lies with the fact that Gojo was even written to begin with. As a writer, on some level you have to care about your characters to some extent-I’m not demanding you don’t pick favorites-I’m saying that in my opinion there is no universe where you are forced to write a character you hate.
Which is why he was first removed from the story as quickly as possible and then killed off shortly after being brought back. Gojo only exsisted as a benchmark for how strong Sakuna was and how screwed everyone would truly be if he revived. Then Gojo got popular at the expense of the characters that actually mattered

Exactly! In addition, I can't get behind the idea that the stakes couldn't get high with Gojo in the story (or any "overpowered" character).
You can simply make the enemies(s) someone who's (are) dangerous for reasons that are not (strictly) related to their powers/physical strength/combat abilities. Someone that you can't just "kill" without massive negative consequences (maybe someone in a position of political power? someone loved by people? And so on).
Or you can use the multiple front treats (like Kenjaku on one side and Sukuna on the other) to keep the focus of Gojo on one of the treats, thus rendering him unable to come to Yuji's help in fighting the second one.
Instead of putting the emphasis of the story on the more dangerous enemy in a traditional shonen sense, you can choose to put an emphasis on the more personal enemy of the protagonist, and let someone like Gojo deal with the more traditional one.
"High" stakes don't have to mean more destruction either. The conflict can be a lot subtler, more psychological, and more emotional than this. It could be about the protagonist risking losing themself in order to win for instance.
In conclusion, as a fellow writer, I don't get this attitude towards a character they've created either. Don't create them in the first place then. Or adapt your story in a creative way.

I knew Gojo would die or be seriously maimed and out of the game. The problem as you said was the off-screen death and disrespect along with some of the conversation he had in the after life was just not with his character or true. I strangely did think he was gonna win against Sukuna and the story then focus to defeating Kenjaku with Gojo at minimum incapacitated because like who is gonna defeat Sukuna now when the honored one can't. Which the only person I want to see defeat Sukuna now is Megumi. I want him to wake up and overcome Sukuna.
Killing off screen is actually a great technique in gruesome horror. It opens up the unsettling question of how that could leave to a great build up once revealed and until then it’s just puzzling fear.

My favourite is kashimo gets clapped cause sukuna can cut through everything and gets hit with a direct soul attack from nobara who has the last finger gojo was hiding obviously not on his person. I think it would be a great way to bring in the possibly not dead nobara and have gojo's sacrifice mean something other than powering up sukuna

I mean I've read Akame ga kill before, and sure it broke expectations but it wasn't out of no where. People seem to have a misconception about that all expectation subversions are the same, but they are not. With Akame ga kill it subverts our expectations, but it properly already laid out the world they were in. Even when we first see Tatsumi save those people, everyone warned him how horrible the Empire is, and how the people are terrible there. Multiple times we were given these clues in the first couple of chapters. So that when it hits us, sure it subverts our expectations, but it makes sense.
These last couple of months from JJK just seem like a waste of time. I felt like it served no purpose to the story, other than to artificially inflate it. It was an awesome fight but ultimately meaningless. The situation hasn't changed, they're still fucked. Gojo really didn't do anything. Sukuna's power up didn't really mean anything, it was an ass pull through and through. Not to mention he doesn't really need it for anyone other than Gojo since no one else has Limitless.
I could be wrong about all of this. But it's amazing how one chapter can completely spit in the faces of readers who read it weekly. With an ass pull power up we don't even get to see, it just seems like i wasted my time. The story is right back to where we were to when Gojo was still sealed. Nothing has changed. No one really had any character development these past months other than Gojo, and he's dead now soooo..... Sukuna didn't really have any development, I thought he did, but apparently he was holding back the entire time so, yeah never mind, he learned nothing.
All in all, it's not the correct way to subvert expectations. If no proper context was planted prior this is just bad writing.

One theory which I thought was interesting was the lotus flowers. Lotus flowers symbolize “rebirth” and “strength”when I looked it up. So call it copium but I don’t think this is the last time we will see gojo. Something else I would add is that gojo’s head is still intact. And if the logic from the fight with toji still stands he can still use cursed reversal technique to heal himself since his head is still intact and thus his brain is unharmed which he said was the reason toji lost. Not to mention he smiles in response to what sakuna says which means he’s still conscious. Of course with this all being a theory and just past knowledge. Him dying is definitely an odd choice here but I think gojo is just getting Levi’d. Author wanted to give characters other time in the spotlight so sitting him out makes sense. Authors do this a lot with op characters anyways. I mean look at goku lol. How many times has akira killed goku and let the other z fighters take over. Only time will tell

I honestly would’ve preferred if before the fight gojo helped the students get stronger and complete his goal, then fight sukana, losing is fine as much as I love him as a character he had to unfortunately to allow the story to progress. But even if him and sukana fought to a draw and say kenjaku killed him with a cheap shot I would almost been more satisfied with that as he would have still dead as the strongest. Then the students have to fight sukana and kenjaku together
That’s too much to ask out of Akutami tbh. If he wanted the rest of the protags to catch up to the power cliff gojo represents he should’ve done it the last time he wrote gojo out of the story by sealing the twink.

I think Gojo might use Kashimo as a stalemate for him to use RCT and recover while trying how to counter Sukuna dimensional slash, as we all know Gojo is a genius and his six eyes help him process things a lot faster so he might actually be able to counter the slash next time around.
That “afterlife” scene is nice and touching but for Gojo to accept defeat and say that he was no match for Sukuna even without Megumi’s 10 shadows is absolutely bad writing and it negates all of Gojo’s principles, morales and even his whole personality..

I feel like it’s possible for gojo to be alive, but I don’t think we would see him again till a climax moment where multiple people are working to fight sukuna and gojo ends up helping out or something, then he dies. Also finally battle gotta be yuji vs kenjaku with both of them dying.
Multiple reasons why it won't happen. The first reason is that half the chapter takes place in the afterlife with gojo saying good bye. Second reason is sukuna would one shot him if he came back with adaptive cleave. The third reason is RCT can't be used when you can't move your CE from your stomach to your head. The fourth reason is gege is a good writer and if you want a good story you need to do the opposite of what gojo meat riders want cuz they're illiterate.

There is so many corrections that are needed in this video because the official translation came out.
There is no gojos father dialogue, there is no goodbye to his friends, there is a better written explanation of what sukuna did + death fr "+sukuna didnt go all out" gojo said + probably they pull a senzu bean bit to heal sukuna+ there is no use of "yorozus gift", sukuna just used mahoraga so he can beat gojo with his technique, thats why when he intend to end the fight with his DE he called him mediocre, he was looking to use him(Gojo) to further improve his CT and he seemed unhappy finishing the fight without achieving that. Right now even if gojo does come back by the lords grace and the strongest asspull in history (imagine being so high on copium), dismantle and cleave surpass infinity with ease.
I dont hate sukuna because in this fight even if at the beginning he looked like a a fraud, "king of curses"? more like king of ClOWnS, but now re reading all the fight again it seems like he was limiting himself, I always asked myself why did he not use any fire technique and only use dismantle one time? Honestly using mahoraga to improve his CT was so good. His battle IQ was better than gojos, using another person innate CT, improve it and only to gain time for mahoraga to adapt and use something he can obtain. It would have been a 10/10 chapter if Gojo didnt die offscreen tho.

the ending of a fight truly can make or break a fight : this fight between sukuma and gojo had so much potential but fell flat at the end, unlike meruem vs netero (I see alot of parallel between the two fights). problem his gege made a terrible argument for sukuna being straight up the strongest, if you're straight up the strongest you can't be bailed out 3 times in a fight, first without Megumi soul he would be trap in unlimited void and defeated , second without mahoraga intervention after the being knockout by the black flash he's probably again dead , third without mahoraga giving him the cheatcode to defeating Gojo , and agito buying enough time for him to keep gojo busy he's probably again dead after the hollow purple explosion.

We only saw 10 Shadows because he couldnt use both Cleave and 10 Shadows at the same time, and he needed to learn how to cross Infinity with Mahoraga
We did only saw one CT from Sukuna, since “◼️” was not used and Sukuna was pretty much equal in the Domain Clashes, so if he won, and did use everything, he did hold back by definition, which is terrifying
Kenjaku clearly didn't want Gojo dead in Shibuya instead of sealing him, because that would mean the birth of a new Six Eyes, which have (by "fate") always interfered with his plans in the past. This was talked about with Tengen before the CG started.

I am so confused at Gege clearly disliking Gojo, you wrote him my guy. The outrage at Gojos death is clearly a symptom of Gege writing a charactar he couldn't manage and then just having to pull the trigger at some stage after it got out of control.
Linking to the first point, a big problem with JJK is clearly to me that it lacks the foresight and planning of many other big manga. I think its a intereting case study in not having a clear idea of where you are heading and finding yourself in a sitation 250ish chapters in that you don't know how to finish anymore.
I know Nick likes the power system, but man do I think that is also one of the big problems. It is very piecemeal and lacks fundamental comparable principles, which makes it very hard to have expectations regarding outcomes or possibilities of fights and interactions. The result is that everything by necessity is an asspull, as something gets introduced as it happens, which makes it feel cheap.
Lastly, the biggest outrage is obviously due to the very inept 'shocking twist' Gege thought the off panel fight conclusion would be. There is a big difference between shocking your audience with an outcome but having it be satisfying because in hindsight all the groundwork and foreshadowing was there and just painting a picture through narrations and panels only to rip it up between panels and shouting 'fooled yah idiot'. The latter is bad writing, there's no storytelling feat in shock that isn't substantiated.
I feel like its rushed, if you care about what your doing and love your 'baby' in a sense, then it'd show through just like with Oda no matter how long it takes.
I'm extremely disappointed in Gojo's demise, I felt like the man could have been taken out of the game without actually dying. (The dude was nearly killed once, sealed away for a long ass time, just to be released and die? Come on now that's some boo boo) And not only that but Sukuna is so OP now it'd take some a** pull move from the main character to defeat him.
If anything he should have crippled Gojo enough to be out of the fight, but returns to his students to train them to take his place in trying to defeat Sukuna and Kenjaku. (lets not forget that dude is still running around) Because I feel like Itadori is not near strong enough to go one on one with Sukuna...
I really hope that in the next few chapters we see more of what the attack did instead of skipping a few minutes after the attack on Gojo. The fact that Gojo was mollywopping Sukuna while used 10 shadows with a fusion shadow and the ultimate shadow, to me says that a real 1v1 against these 2 would end with Gojo’s win since it looks like Sukuna only one with Megumi’s technique. I get that the author doesn’t really like Gojo much like Jiren in DBS, he’s a literal wall that others must get over to progress, but I don’t think the author would just drop Gojo without a plan.
I've seen this idea a lot, that Sukuna loses without 10S. It's kinda silly to me tho, since it requires one to believe 10S is substantially stronger than Sukuna's own Cursed Technique. That's a bit of a stretch, especially without any evidence to back it up.

My take on the whole Sukuna holding back thing was the way they both fought. Gojo was in his bag against Sukuna, truly freestyling with his cursed technique. Sukuna went into battle with a plan and stuck to it. In spite of everything Gojo did, killing his shikigami, SLEEPING Sukuna with a black flash, the touchdown Hollow Purple….NONE of that made Sukuna deviate from the plan.
Also, Gojo seems to believe that Sukuna would’ve come up with that method of bypassing the limitless without Mahoraga, but…he had Mahoraga so why not use the cheat sheet? Lol

I think the should've just left him sealed ,if the plot couldn't possibly move foward with him being there. The story that I was most interested in was gogo's plan to change jujutsu society , fostered students who could help him change it . All of that part of the story is lost , no closure with gojo and megumi , or yugi . I think the ending will be ass pulls one after another. There's no way anyone is strong enough to beat him if gojo couldn't. Then wish kashimo and the other guy. It was just pointless to just add them all of a sudden.
30:05..hikari was introduced way in the beginning during the "G.W.E between the Tokyo and Kyoto jujutsu schools because maki mentioned he was suspended and then we finally see him when megumi and yuji go to ask kirara and him to help out with getting gojo unsealed. He's the first person introduced with a C.E trait being really course like a file or low-grit sandpaper and kashimo is the 2nd with his trait making his C.E like electricity..
am i the only who is on sukuna's side. when gojo died it made my day. its nice to see authors divert from the norm. its a change of pace. and frankly i hope sukuna is the last man standing. i like how he is a pure villain who does not care abt anything
I am less upset at Gojo dying (because let's be honest: he had to if the plot was going to move forward), but moreso how it happened: I wouldn't be nearly as bothered if it wasn't an off-screen affair.
But my other issue is where does Gego go from here, because he has written himself into a corner: Sukuna being as strong as he is, how do you take him down without pulling something out of thin air?
And as for people dropping the manga, I understand: ever since Shibuya, the manga has become torture porn on par with the current Spider-Man run (if you know, you know).

If you look at the first panel that showed gojos close up he has a bunch of blood over his mouth, however on the next panel where sukuna tell Gojo he did great Gojo doesn’t have as much blood around his mouth. He’s currently using reversed curse technique. & since Gojos head is still attached that means he is still capable to use RCT. One thing about gege akutami is that details are always key.
I mean you might be right, but at the same time it wouldn’t fit with Gege's writing. The only character he's killed off so far that might still be alive is Nobara and she's been gone longer than Gojo. Plus it would probably just make people even angrier if he gets brought back.
I saw that but honestly, CT doesn't make your blood evaporate. When Gojo revived for the first time he still was bloody in all the areas Toji attacked him, for example.

I always knew that if there was a manga that didn't adhere to the tropes of shonen anime, that people would flip their s*** and I'm all for it. Sukuna was holding back we couldn’t see him use the black box, yorozu’s gift and any other techniques he got. Sukuna couldn’t fight like he wanted too because of Gojo’s infinity. Also he still have to fight Gojo’s students after. Sukuna could’ve still won without ten shadows but it will be way harder and a long drawn out battle it could’ve gone either way but then we see that if Sukuna gets pass infinty it’s wraps. Sukuna choose the easier riskier way to end the fight because of Mahoragra

I have a theory, and it's related to Yuji.
Gege said Yuji's Domain wouldn't involve memory manipulation, so what if it was a one time use Domain where he can revive everyone he's lost at the cost of his own life?
What if the series ends with Yuji activating his Domain, reviving his fallen comrades, and then him dying after saying goodbye to everyone?

This is just the 1st time that alot of people who always get tricked by the writer into liking the main character (because the writer makes it that way) have to deal with what the rest of us always have. U finally get what it feels like to be a Sasuke fan. Gets written out of the core of the plot for the majority of the time so the main character can shine and killed of screen like Sasuke just might have in Boruto. I actually also loved this fight, the writer is crazy in a good way
