I learned about this channel from Adam Savage at Tested. Im really happy he shouted you out. I learned quite a bit just from this one video. Thank you.
You're one of the few channels that I never delay watching when I get the notification. Don't ever feel like you need to do more. The anticipation sells it. Brilliant work, as always. Thanks!
I watched this with my wife nearby and exclaimed "He's using a lathe to sharpen a pencil!?". My wife, who knows almost nothing about machinery, said "that's seems extreme." 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think machining a groove at the end of the knurling to remove the chip and clean up the end would have worked well to remove the unsightly transition.
Yeah, I thought similar. I guess if you were doing the job a second time, you might even consider machining the chamfer after doing the knurling/shaping operation to avoid that unsightly transition situation altogether.
There’s an electronics company here in the States called Phenix. They’re located in Accident Maryland. We have a couple of pieces of their equipment in our shop. All the adjustment knobs go up to 11 and I haven’t been able to talk to anybody at the company who has heard of the movie. At this point I’m wondering if it was a joke with the founders and has been lost over time.
Yes there it is. this one goes to eleven. Yeah but this one goes to eleven. Hello Chicago, nope basement, hello Chicago , nope outside that's classic. Killer movie. Love spinal tap. Been saying that a lot lately this one goes to eleven. Nobody really knows anymore or at all. It's a shame. Anyway if that's what ur meaning I subbed up over it. Great video to. And mill video I liked it's lot. From ur ole hillbilly buddy stay safe.
I must say, this is unspeakably beautiful. But you really should have included the unnecessary umlauts on the o and u, to make it properly heavy metal.
I've been trying to resin 3D print a custom guitar knob, but i can never get the colors correct. The knob isn't white enough, and whenever i paint the embossed text, i end up messaging up the knob... I wish i could commission someone smart like you for this knob...

Brilliant work, as always.
Thanks!
NO! DO MORE!
I like the part where you used the lathe to sharpen your pencil.
That was my favourite bit too. :D
at my work when our pencil sharpener broke we started joking about using the 2 ton lathe we've got to sharpen them :D
Gotta be the weird flex of every machinist to sharpen a pencil in a silly way
Yep, now i need a Lathe!!!
That was a nice flex 😆
Thank you for yet another fantastic video showcasing your amazing talents. 👏👏👍😀
Superb video as always. I normally skip the ads but stayed around for the more detailed explanation of the Squarespace development!
Outstanding work as always and that’s stunning mate!
As always a pleasure to watch and a beautiful knob. And it goes up to 11 just brilliant.
The indexable chuck is brilliant. I wish I had one of those.
LOL , Love your pencil sharpening method :)
Using a lathe as a pencil sharpener must be the most extreme overuse ever

And I am so here for it!
No, that would be using the milling machine…
PhD on vertebrae discs...electric guitar knob that goes up to 11...if your middle name isn't 'spinal' then there's something wrong with the world
Great work. That's a knob that Spinal Tap would be proud of!👍🤘
Beautiful build! Came here from Tested and you have a new sub

Outstanding work 👏👏
Sharpen the pencil with your lathe :> you funny dude you!
That really made me chuckle! "Oh what is he doing now........oh god :D"
Fabulous work, although I'm sure someone will point out that you should have used aluminium or bronze, because brass will affect the tone...
🙄
Fantastic! Really enjoyed.. Thanks for sharing
Beautifully done!
Love your pencil sharpener too!!
It"s great! Congratulations 🇧🇷
Now you need to make the tone knobs and the switch cap. 🙂

nice work
To dissolve the super glue you can soak the part in Acetone
So good!
Spinal Tap would approve!!
Man I AM JEALOUS! 🤣👍
Beautiful techniques and video! Inspirational. What’s the story behind the setup of your shop? Seems unique.
Yes there it is.
this one goes to eleven. Yeah but this one goes to eleven.

Can u please make fairchild knob?
Its very iconic and cool shape
Very nice? May I ask - since the base material was reasonably soft, why not use a compression knurler?
What we really want to know is, what angle did you sharpen the pencil to?
Exemplary as always. I take it was Hazel who read the spot; she has a lovely speaking voice. 😀
Great upgrade for your guitar. I may also now know why I think I need a lathe #bloominPencils ...thanks, helps a lot! \m/
Glad that you were able to save some money by making your own knob.
Bit disappointed you didn't gold plate it.
That is the ONLY way to sharpen a pencil!!! Magic
3:31 What is the globule on the metal?
Flux
You have some of the nicest machines and equipment I could only dream of
From now on I will sharpen my pencils in the lathe!
I must say, this is unspeakably beautiful. But you really should have included the unnecessary umlauts on the o and u, to make it properly heavy metal.
Спасибо.
Nice work, but to make the most of it going to 11, I hope that's being plugged into a Marshall amp.😁

Great ❤
What mill is this - seems like a bit of a funny arrangement but neat!
The engineering stuff i usually watch is on a much larger scale, thus my question: do think your work is harder because its on a smaller scale?
Wow👌
What a great way to sharpen a pencil.
Me Facina el mecanizado Micro soy Relojero me gustaría si me puede informar de Fresa pequeña Saludos Afectuosos.
Huh, there I thought you'd go for a rotary broach.
Why not just make the 10 louder?
Can you play guitar 1 better than you could before?
But why don't you simply use a louder amp? 😉
