the diopter behind the eyecup is brilliant design. Can't be knocked, and how often do you adjust the diopter? The one on my X100f hasn't been changed once and I bought it at launch
I enjoy your videos, thanks. If money was no object, for the camera body only, and you were buying for stills only and video is not needed which L alliance camera would you buy? Sigma FPL, SL2-S or the Panasonic. Also, Which is best for colours?
Thanks! When all things are aligned like AF etc. The Sigma is better actually. But I find the S1R AF superior to the FP L at this current pre production phase.
Hmm that’s a tough one. They are different but I like Both. The Sigma colours are special, but the GFX 100s when calibrated correctly to the scene is also special. It’s a toss up really
@@TECH360TV I guess sooc images look better in the Sigma, but the GFX files can be processed in great ways, if I understood correctly. The 100S is an amazing camera. Just used it for a professional photoshoot and the results are 🔥🔥. The Sigma colors are very nice but medium format is medium format
Thanks, Bobby, I use Sony bodies and Markus alerted me to the little cameras they were producing. I became interested in their specification now the L version is using a 61MP Sony (I assume) sensor. Very good I am interested I think. Now here I am with a bunch of Sigma glass in E mount or E adapted whatever beloved heritage glass and want to put them all on the "L Mount Alliance", (I can almost hear an echo). I am really excited that Sigma a newish company, is coming into the market at this time. I was hoping they were going to boost the APSC cameras as they were producing great lenses for this format. I was therefore surprised they jumped into the full-frame market competing with the 7C using I assume Sony's own sensor?
I think it’s a Sony sensor but I feel it may be different than the A7RIV sensor due to the video specs. With Sigma E Mount lenses you can have the Mount changed to L Mount by Sigma so that is one way to utilise the Sigma lenses. As for others it won’t work without an adapter.
@@TECH360TV yeah I got that but from what I've seen from other cameras pre-production is usually pretty close to what you get for the first year. It was pretty close and I'm sure they can dial that in in a few firmware updates. Hopefully Lumix takes a shot at this hybrid autofocus
@@Skill_Issue92 Something tells me it will be the same lol Panasonic is probably going to release an S5r or some updated model with the higher resolution and same hybrid autofocus as sigma.
The shutter and, a bit less so, the lack of IBIS keep me from running out and getting one. I love the modular design, the sensor, the flip up EVF and the lens selection.
My goodness, that autofocus at 14:00 almost made me sick! I've got point-and-shoots from 2005 that still work with better video AF than that. Aside from that, looks like a great camera.
A high resolution 61Mega pixel camera that is the size and weight of a small point and shoot. I really like that. However, it has too many quirks. Thanks for the review.
As they have decided to give the Sigma FP L more Stills capabilities and on the other side more cinema capabilities to the original FP; FP thanks to less MP in the sensor can easily shot 4K 60 Fps 10 bit 4.2.2 internally, but SIGMA still eluding this firmware on the FP.
Thanks for the preview. It would be great to qualify at what shutter speed you get banding. I am afraid you can't pan around this camera for stills due to the massive roller shutter. My one beef besides that is that it has an optical pass filter- where the 24 MP didn't have it. It would be *great* if they didn't have one to make a super detail B&W camera option. Also as usual, the presenter of this video is... ummm. very easy on the eyes :-) (take as compliment).
AngryRabbit Productions If this is a stills focused camera, why no mechanical shutter? I don’t doubt the sensor is sharp... it’s the same sensor in the Sony A7R4. But I feel it works better in the Sony. Plus you get IBIS and a mechanical shutter... a screen that can tilt, a smaller package, once you add the EVF to the Sigma. And let’s not forget world class AF from the Sony option. I’m thinking the “L” might stand for Lazy.
I honestly hate preproduction videos. Nothing on the quality of the video or information but you don’t get the true capabilities of the product. The fault with always trying to be first.
@strippedlist you say that because you have the d810 and sigma art 50 get real. Yeah what he said, we beg to differ. Thats like me saying xd2 100c with the 135 2.8 will smoke it 😉 lmao
Wow this sigma has nothing new, just a 60Mp sensor, same bad AF and 4k at only 25 fps..5fps less than original FP, wow unbelieveble, just go with Lumix S5 . Boring

The gain dropped a little at 1:23, but it looked nice.
This is certainly above expectations from Sigma. Can't wait for your comparisons with A7R4.
Looking forward to it as well
I prefer the more pastle colours out of the FP rather than the saturated from the FPL. Great coverage as usual. Thanks.
That’s why they made raw cinedng

Being an electronic shutter flash is limited.
Which mount has the sigma fpl?
The Tilta cage has a cold shoe and will still allow the EVF to be fitted on the side.
