I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.
Finally got my HD and could not be more happy with my purchase. As others have said a beast suspension seat outstanding I have 6 acres to mow some hills this HD just runs through it I have the Honda efi plenty of power buy one if you or looking to mow in complete comfort
Just picked up a Maverick HD with the Honda EFI engine from my local dealer. Huge thank you for your videos and reviews. We closed on 5 acres late in Nov and finally got around to cutting it. This thing is a complete beast! No issues with the overgrown grass and the suspension on the seat was extremely comfortable. I’m extremely satisfied with my decision.
Picking one up this week,,anything I need to know? Going with the Honda engine 54 inch cut,,you happen to know the maximum width of the mower..hoping it will fit on my trailer and I don't have to buy another one, mine is 60 inches wide..thanks for any info.
I would choose Honda Engine over Kawasaki engine. The Honda engines are very Reliable. Kawasaki are very good engines. They put Kawasaki on all of the zero turn mower. Honda engines are very hard to find when you are purchasing a zero turn mower.
I just got my HD 60” cut Honda EFI on 8/2. It normally took me around 1 1/2 hours to mow the one section of lawn with my craftsman YTS4000 with 46” cut, yesterday i mowed it in about 30-40 minutes, then i was about to finish the other section in about 1 hour which use to take another couple hours with previous mower. I can’t be more pleased.
The new badboy mavericks don't have filler reservoir tanks for the trans axles, just filler plugs....makes it hard to put oil back in them with a long skinny oil funnel.....it has a place to mount them but factory stop putting them on the mowers for some reason
Just bought Hd Honda motor will uodate after a few months how it holds up. Hope I did not shoot my self in the leg by going with this brand for the first time
I have a small lawn care biz, and I'm running a hustler Raptor SD 42". It was what I could afford and it has been a good rig. But I've found myself wanting a mower than can cut faster...but I still need a 42" as nearly half of my customers have small gates. Some of my customers have even come from bigger lawn care outfits that couldn't fit their mowers through the customer's gate. So the idea that a $8k mower with 10mph axles, heavier frame/deck (but still light enough for my trailer) and mild suspension and better seat exists is great news. The only other near commercial grade 42" mowers I'd seen were stand on units and that just isn't what I like to run.
I’m in the market right now and I’m looking at the maverick hd , toro Titan myride and scag patriot. I really like the maverick hd but there are no dealers within a reasonable distance for service and support. The scag and toro are within 10 miles from me. I’m curious what your opinion is on these 3 mowers and if you’d avoid the maverick hd because the dealer not being close.
Anyone with a mower repair/service shop should be able to service the Maverick HD with no problem. You can call and ask them to double check. If you had to choose between the scag and Toro, I'd choose the Toro since it has suspension. Scag been pretty much the same for years and their mowers look a bit outdated to me.
For what the Maverick offers, it's a better buy than the excellent Toro Titan. 3400 Hydros on the Bad Boy are huge difference compared to the 3100's on the Toro. Both have suspension seats, but Bad Boy also has the suspension at the wheels. No comparison really.
I just got the Toro titan max havoc edition few days ago along side my zmaster 62inch and for the price under $8k the titan max is the best on the market
The thing is, does it mulch worth anything? Is this like the SCAG because those cut like crap and this looks like the brother version so just curious. Looks entry level, similar motor and the deck is fairly close too. Not shading it, just curious.
Anyone wanting to do commercial get a rebel or rogue. It’s worth the extra $. I have a 21 maverick and a 19 rebel. The difference is night and day. The rebel with the bigger motor and bigger pumps just does so much more. Especially when you’re mowing hills like we have here in Kentucky. The maverick is great though for a home owner & if you’re not planning on cutting 50-60 yards a week like we do.

Does Tractor Bobs offer the Maverick HD? I didn’t see it as a choice on the website.
Yes sir we carry the Maverick HD and ship across the U.S
The anti-scalp wheels should have a plate on each side of the wheel with a bolt running through, for long term durability.

Yes absolutely! Honda is the quietest. Kawasaki and Kohler are about the same. Kawasaki has a higher pitch, Kohler a lower pitch.
