Iron came to us on the first of February 2017 and made a huge impact on everyone. There was something about him, I can't explain it. He was the kind of cat that made you want to hug him as hard as you can and at the same time just sit in corner and watch him, just watch him, without disturbing his serenity.
All of us kept dreaming about him recovering and finding a home, without realizing that Iron was already home. The cushion in front of the window was where he wanted to be. One day before he died, he had already left us. He turned his back on everything and everyone, and stared at the other side with a wisdom of someone who has lived too many lives already.

Sweet little kitty RIP. Valia, you and the people that work with you are a little bit like Mother Teresa of Calcutta, except of course you care for the animals in Greece. Mother Teresa took care of sick and homeless people on the streets in India, opened up hundreds of homes to care for the young, old and dying. She even lived on the streets with the homeless to take care of them. God bless you and your work!

Thank you for sharing. He reminds me of my senior kitty Seeya, which in Sanskrit means "grandfather". He also had medical issues. He was part of my life for 5 years and helped validate my own existence. Once I rescued him and he got better, he enjoyed life each day, that's what I remember most about him.

I socialized a feral kitten, I was the only person who could even touch him, he hated everyone else and he never meowed his whole life, the only sound he made was a gutteral growl.
He was a great mouser and was an in/out cat, then he disappeared for about 3 years, after the divorce I moved back into the old house . . . alone.
One night I heard a noise at the window, there was Lewis asking to come in.
He had a rough time, had a jagged tear in his ear, a crooked leg (badly healed broken leg) and was missing some teeth.
He settled in like he had always been there, he lived a few more years as an inside cat then one day he wanted out and never came back.
I found his body in his favorite hunting ground, my garden, he was buried at that exact spot, he was over 17 years old.
I miss Lewis.

A pity he didn't want to die in your company though. My Smokey did. The date Saturday December 19 1998 haunts me. Cats may have an instinct to die alone, but Smokey got to his feet and awkwardly stumbled out of the bathroom where he was, where I had a soft bed for him in the dark while he was sick, to die in my arms.

I am on a bus with full of people, I am a grown man but even though I am trying to hold back my tears I am unable to do so. I wonder why but I do not feel any shame but regrets cause all I can do for iron is sheed few tears. It is frustrating as well as infuriating.

No, you're in really good company from what I can see. I don't usually click on these videos because I'm so bloody sensitive, and just can't handle seeing animals that have been hurt or injured-- deliberately or not-- but something drew me to this one nevertheless. As incredibly sad as the story was, and as hard as it was to see the poor wee cat in pain, I'm glad I watched it. He made such a dramatic impact in his short little life, and I hope he's whole and well and happy, romping with the other kitties in Kitty Cat Heaven. Bless you, wee Iron, and all those who helped him.

And what a beautiful gift that is....especially because many of us have had seasons when we had no voice or we tried but weren't heard, and so it sort of spreads a bit of healing balm on our hearts, too, as we see a little vulnerable one be heard and his injustice be vindicated a bit by being scouped up into arms of love and their stories be told with dignity and compassion. It reminds us that justice is right and is the way it always should be. It tells the story that no matter how small and insignificant you may look or seem to be, nobody deserves to be overlooked and abandoned in their hour of need. I'm not omnipotent. Nobody is. Yet I was 12 when I saw trough religion for what it really is. A means of power to control the gullible. I'm willing to change my mind again though, if you show me *evidence* that a god exists (Note: I say "a god", not the christian god neccessarily) . And no, what's written in so called "holy books" or god of the gap arguments don't count.

If we want to see our pets again or any animals after we die we need to be saved through Jesus Christ according to God’s Word, the Bible. He is the only way to salvation.

My Cat looked like that when my girlfriend and I found him 12 years ago, we trapped him took him to the vet, expecting him to be put down, but the next day the vet phoned us to fetch him, he had a few injections and meds and turned out to be the Most beautiful Maincoon and most lovable cat ever, he is now 14 years old, absolutely gorgeous. Sometimes all they need Is human intervention, and they will make up for it in love 10 fold.

But humans can also be wonderful to animals, like the people in this video. No species can empathize with other species like we can, so don't be ashamed of being human. In nature life is painful, disease-ridden and short.
Besides, animals can be just as cruel as humans. For example, chimps can commit genocide against other chimp groups, and male lions will kill the cubs from another male to secure their own genetic lineage.

As I write this I’m in tears because if I could have found him early on. I could have saved that poor baby & gave him a life he only dreamed of💔 I had a kitten last year that passed away of some weird blood disorder & no amount of money we paid couldn’t save her little life. It broke my soul. It was my first kitten in 25 yrs......
I have 2 cats now. A 1 yr old beautiful female & a 6 month old boy. I give them the world. All my love & affection. I hear them playing in the living room right now. It brings my heart so much happiness.....to know that I did that....I love them so much that they can be themselves & have fun whenever they want❤️ I pray that God will bring us our next kitten/Cat to our home.

Bloody hell that is one of the saddest and most heart breaking stories I’ve ever heard . Completely wiped me out . I bottle a lot of things up that are making life difficult to manage , but when I see cruelty and compassion so closely connected like this , it’s difficult to hold back the flood . My folks have been foster Carers for cats protection a number of years , & have seen their share of abandoned animals , but that didn’t prepare me for this at all . We all long for our own peace , & some of us find it in the most surprising places , others of us are still searching for our own spot of sunshine . With any luck we will all be able to recognise a animal or person in our lives , who needs love and tenderness to make their lives better .

Yes, maybe he lived too many lives in this sick world, too many lives spent asking for a real family to embrace him, caress him and love him. At the very end he found you, the one he was waiting for: the last period of his last life was the best he could have ever imagined and also a lesson to us all, a lesson of empathy and compassion too many times forgotten.

I just can‘t stop thinking about Iron and the way he looked out of the window into the sun and doesn‘t even hear the narator calling his name. It is just so heartbreaking. I felt the need to console him with all I can. May he rest in peace and I hope he found what he deserves!
Sitting here surrounded by my furbaby blessings, I cry for Iron. Animals are the most innocent of souls and the world isn't just too hectic, it's too cruel. May Iron be warm and in the sun over the Rainbow Bridge, happily dozing and content. And may he forget all the pain he endured here on Earth and know how precious he is.

I think so too. It is so refreshing, I must say, that there are so many people on this thread that feel the same way; that the cat went to heaven. I have been on so many internet boards and such where I see others scorning me for thinking that animals go to heaven. It seems that they don't think animals go to heaven or even that there is a heaven. They believe that either because of their religious beliefs or they think god and heaven don't exist. One or the other and they treat me like I'm pathetic and stupid to believe in such things.
Actually I feel sorry for them. For the religious ones who don't believe animals go to heaven I feel this way: maybe when those people go to heaven they don't see animals. But in my heaven they do exist. So I look forward to seeing them again. And for those who don't believe god and heaven don't exist, well they can think whatever they want. But for me, I have to believe there is more out there, even if we don't completely comprehend it. I believe myself, that it's true; we all go to heaven including our animals. Thanks for agreeing and believing. I'm so glad I have found a place where I'm not being made fun of for believing our pets go to heaven and I hope that no one ever puts some bad comments in under mine here, like they have before.❤😊💗 thanks again.

Diamond Lady I know it’s horrible but I try not to think of this. My heart breaks harder when thinking about the forgotten animals. People need to have more humanity when it comes to every animal.

So bittersweet...I'm grateful this poor, precious, broken baby was given love and some degree of health before he passed. I wonder if at the end he was in pain and not able to express it. I wonder if Powder stopped hanging out as much and maybe that made Iron sad. Maybe he missed the freedom of being outside. We'll never know, but his story, like many others will haunt me forever. RIP sweet Iron.

I’m beyond heartbroken. Iron you are my hero!!! We adopted a stray kitty ourselves, and she’s our life and our heart. I truly believe God has a special place in heaven for these beautiful, innocent, forgotten, abused animals. Iron I know you are no longer suffering, and have felt the love you’ve been craving and deserving before you entered heaven. Thank you to your wonderful caregivers, you are all advocates for those that love, but cannot speak for themselves.

Why do you automatically assume that a person was responsible? Did you not listen? He was a feral cat he never had a home. Life is cruel and sometimes bad things happen to innocent creatures. That doesn't mean a person is automatically responsible.

I have given several, sometimes feral , cats a home. Some for a few years, some for only a few weeks, some just to give them a painfree passing. A lot of people claim to be animal lovers but real love for animals is being happy when they are. Seeing them enjoy a soft bed for the first time or loving good food, not expecting something in return.
Life was not kind to him until you found him. Animals know when it's time to go . Thank you for being an angel and loving to him on his last days on earth. God was calling him to go home.😢❤

Thank you for writing this commen and posting it here. I put off watching this video for awhile because I had a feeling it might affect me a little more deeply -- the title of the video was so poetic and haunting and the picture of this poor beautiful cat ... I could see it was different.
Well, it did touch me and left me wanting to thank this woman ... and honor that cat but I was also stunned, speechless. So I went looking to see if anyone else had felt what I felt and found your comment about this saddest, most beautiful story, and the tears.

I’m an avid animal lover, and as a 63-year-old “macho” type of guy, my Wife would say that watching something like this turns me into a big, blubbering baby. My heart goes out to Irons’ rescuers and caretakers. There is a special place in Heaven for the entire crew.❤️👍

After watching Iron's story, I must applaud you for what you do! My heart is breaking right now for Iron and all the abused, neglected and lonely animals out there who just want to be loved and know only cruelty and pain. We have two cats already or I would definitely adopt a cat or two. Both of our cats are rescues. Em, he is 11yrs old and we found him abandoned at about 6-8 weeks old by his mother. Seeley, is a manx, and she is 2yrs old. She was found under our shed with a broken leg and starving when she was 5mths old. We assumed someone had thrown her out of a moving car from the injuries she sustained. I will share this video far and wide because these beautiful animals need help and that takes money. Thank God for caring and loving people like you 🙏

Although he was sedated he tried standing up because That's all he ever knew, making it on his own.
For this beautiful little Angel to think the side effects of the sedation were just another normal day filled with disorientation, fatigue & weakness tells us how much he had to endure & keep going on with his life. God please protect these animals in any way you can

Just remember, especially in his last few days, surrounded by warm sunshine, love and petting from his human friends, as well as companionship and play from his kitty friends, he knew without a doubt he was loved.
Dennis Hartnett Yeah, he undoubtably was loved. But why did he have to go through all that s**t?! What has an innocent, little and helpless cat/animal done to deserve this? Sorry, I‘m not close to tears, but this video made my tears look like shoestrings. Everytime I watch videos like that I immediately need to take my cat and cuddle and kiss her like crazy. I guess sometimes she thinks I‘m nuts, but I know that she loves me to death. And I love her to death. And she knows and feels that. Sorry, I had to unleash these words. Still can‘t get over that story. Even I miss Iron....though I never met him.

I just meant to point to the poor cat being so loved at the end of its life as a reminder that there still are decent and kind people around. And judging by what you wrote you are such a soul! It is very easy to lose one's faith in humanity, especially when cruelty seems to be everywhere you look. Be well, and give my regards to your lucky cat!

Nothing made these horrible people stop to take care of him. Not his broken leg, not his broken tail, not his infected eye. I wish they will all get the karma they deserve to let a pure, helpless soul like this suffer. It's so unfair that I can't stop crying. He could have had the most wonderful life. At least he was loved and cared for during the last months of his life.

No, Iron was abused, and he returned home once his hope for humanity was redeemed, thanks to the people who rescued him...
I don't know how anyone could abuse or not help an animal in need... Absolutely breaks me and if i ever win the lottery, i promise you all that i will be the one to save them all the best i can !
If you know of or see anyone abusing an animal, or a stray in need of help, please do the right thing by them and God... and help.
It's such an easy thing to do, make a phone call, be persistent. And one day, maybe God will return the favor.

I am taking care of over 10 cats..I am the only 1 to feed and give medical care as needed...I look at it like this...if they didnt depend on me I would have already died of cancer..bc of them I know I have to get out of bed and feed and water them and check on them....they give me reason to push on...

@@melindalemmon2149 they mention feline leukemia. Both powder and he had it. I understand a cat can have FIV, they need to be separate from healthy cats because it can transfer. Those that live with FIV, live, but not a full life. Half or less

They are all so cute but the problem is that they do not know how to cover their poo, they have a flea, and they dont get along with my first cat. I tried a lot of things in the past 7 days but no progression. I dont have anyone to ask. But I know you know better than me since you already have 10 cats.. So can I ask for advice or tip? I am desperately looking for answers.

To let him know that the people who rescued him were good and there are many more. And let him know I'm like him. Many troubles through life, health and personal problems. "If cats have souls" . What would make someone think a human is more special than any other creature on this planet except as intelligence. A bigger brain doesnt mean theres a soul inside of it.
