UPDATE (12/17/21): A new "Elite" version of the TourBox with wireless, bluetooth connectivity and haptic feedback is now being crowdfunded on Kickstarter (at up to 34% off its retail price). I've been testing a pre-production prototype of the Elite, and have published the review linked below.

Thanks for the clear overview. I had this idea in my head that the dial could only be set for one function, but you explain that the buttons can give focus to different controls and then the same dial can be used to adjust.

With regards to the "weird" button designs, I think you answered yourself when you said the device allows you to focus more on what you're doing. Having different looking buttons and wheels creates a better reflex when you get used to the device-you don't need to look at the device to find your buttons. The size of the controller also helps in that department.

Your content is consistently great and clear. Feels like I am talking to the dude next door. Thank you for your efforts. You should have many more subscribers. I believe it will happen in time. Please keep up the great work! The TourBox Neo is probably not for me but I can see how it would be helpful. Who knows, I might still give it a try!

This is the best overview on TourBox that I've watched. Totally looking forward to the delivery of my Elite model.

I'm using a laptop since 1987 and in the late nineties, I bought only one Desktop with sony Monitor, later gave it to my daughter. still, the sony monitor works. she used to play games and still uses laptops, but never used a touchpad or touch screen or any other Gadget and gimmicks with the computers, although my laptops have it. I can mouse 10times faster than a boring touchpad or touch screen and like an extension keyboard(every 2-3 years change the keyboard(worn out). Due to using extension keyboard my all laptops never gone wrong, just bought new ones due to they became obsolete(memory, HD). This is my 5th Laptop(Chromebook now).

Thank you for your video. Can this panel use the dial to crop without using the mouse?

Not sure why but my tourbox isn’t executing commands that were assigned to each specific buttons and knobs. I’m trying to use it to edit photos in lightroom. I have the latest version of the software and have tried multiple presets..

Did you ever figure it out? I've only gotten one or two things to actually work, but the scroll, knob and wheel don't do anything. I left it as default too just to mess with and no luck.

Does it work for Camera Raw (Photoshop)? Also if you put the mouse cursor to the "Exposure" tab and turn the knob, does it change the slide?

Whats editing in Capture One? Makes it sense to yuse the TourBox NEO too?

TourBox NEO doens't come with a built-in preset for Capture One. That's something I would love to see added and supported! It is possible to create your own preset for Capture One and assign keyboard shortcuts, but I haven't had a chance to really delve into that.

Couldn't you use an Xbox controller to do the same!?!?!?!?!?!!?

    • @christophergraham8191

You could, but it’s nowhere near as good. The Tourbox is designed to be comfortable and intuitive for editing, a controller isn’t.

I'll tell some of you a secret.
Get your hands on the discontinued Steam Controller on Ebay.
It's more powerful than the Tourbox NEO and can be customizable on so many layers. Dual touchpads that can be anything from a mouse, a radial menu or a slider. Any button or even touching one pad can be a modifier. You can even customize your own popup overlay. The touchpads themselves are even haptic.
The secret is in the software. You just run your editing and creative software through Steam as an added program, and the overlay will be available.

I notice you use your left hand. Is that because by default it's more suited for lefty work as the mouse is still on the right. Does it have drivers to work with Canon DPP as well. For long edits it looks like your wrist will be sore.

    • @dominey
      @dominey  3 роки тому

I'm right handed, but for me it feels perfectly natural using the mouse in my right hand and the NEO on the left. The NEO doesn't have built-in presets for Canon DPP but you may create a preset for any application (and then assign keyboard shortcuts supported by the app to buttons on the NEO).
