As a left handed artist, I find it hard to use the keyboard shortcuts with my right hand. I've been looking for a good artist review of this product because it interested me. And you delivered beyond my expectations Adam, as always !

Oh of course! My son is left-handed as well and I can completely empathize with you. I’m actually thinking that it might be BETTER for a leftie - because the shoulder button would line up with your thumb instead of your pinkie, I would have loved that!

Hey Adam, great review of the device I've been using every day for the last year!
As probably many here will point out, the thing's a bit expensive, but if you're a pro that works a lot, it will really make things so much more ergonomic. So it's absolutely worth getting since there's no alternative to it that would be this ergonomic, or having scrolling controls at all.

I've recently been looking for a replacement for my Cintiq remote (as it broke) and up until this video I've only seen the Razer Tartarus v2 as a possible replacement. Do you have any experience using that compared to the Tourbox?

+1! I bought this with your promo code before even finishing this video! My left CMD-key-thumb is RSI'ed to hell and it was random chance you were reviewing this right when I needed a change up. This is the first ever direct "influencer-influenced-promo-purchase" I've made and I couldn't be happier with the hardware and the console (driver)! Like any new tool, I imagine it will take a few projects to have muscle-memory up to the same speed as on keyboard, but I can already say your review is spot on and I'm super stoked to have this beauty. Thanks Adam! Great recommendation.

Best thing I've personally ever used is the CSP Tabmate. VERY comfortable in the hand, no need to sit it on anything it because of how it's shaped, no confusion with the buttons either because the tactile feedback is enough not to get confused. You can use it with other programs too I think if you use auto hotkeys.

I'm a Kickstarter backer of the TourBox and I really love it. It is a simple tool that is very basic in design as it's basically a microcontroller using a serial port to USB bridge. This why the driver won't effup your system. But this simplicity is also why you won't see it working on an iPad as it would require an additional bridge with MFi certification and it would require each apps to include support for the TourBox because AFAIK, there's no system wide accessory support in iOS.

I've been looking for something to replace my Wacom Express! I've had it for years, but the sleep mode is annoying and since you can't turn it off, it turns off every 10mins. I'm also a left-handed artist so it's been a hassle finding something for me that I can translate the shortcuts. Only thing about the Tourbox is, a lot of the buttons look like it's orientated for right-handed users. But hell, probably better then the Wacom Express and it's sold on Amazon too. I might give it a try!

I use the Razer Tartarus, as I also don't find space with the big cintiq for a keyboard. I like it a lot, but it is a little different from a normal keyboard, as they are mor arranged in rows and columns, instead ofr being offset from one another like the normal keyboard. What I like very much is the modifier key, so Allt he keys have alternatives, where I can put commonly used combinations, such as cntrl+u for hue etc. But one downside is the Driver, as Razer thinks anyone with one of their products need to update it with each cycle, as its one driver for all products, which is super frustrating.
Do you know the Azeron Cyborg? It would be great if you could do a reviewon that device, too as it comes with even more buttons.
What I feel is lacking on the tourbox is a cusion for your ankle. I like that a lot at the tartarus, and it has has been my biggest issue with normal keyboards.
edit: I say that you talked about the wacom remote, too. I have used it and It was alright for me, had no problems finding the buttons without looking. But the clickwheel was terrible, always turned it off. The Issue I had more with the remote was, that sometimes it just didn't connect, or the input was with a certain delay.

@10:50 I wonder if you couldnt get a thin magnet to attach to it. It would stick to that Cintiq even better. I know they have some expensive elite version that is Bluetooth. Anyway, great review man. I might get one, I wish they had an LED version and they said they are working on an IOS app. Its expensive but at least I can review it on my own struggling channel. Thanks brother. -John

Huh. What a coincidence. I was looking for a new programmable keypad for artists. I have an XP-Pen pad from Amazon, and it’s cheap but a button broke and it’s not the most responsive.
This looks perfect, but unfortunately the price may be a little too heavy for me right now. Though if anyone has their own suggestions, I’d love to hear! I’m at least looking for a keypad that I can plug into my PC rather than Bluetooth and battery.

Awesome video Adam! I recently got the tourbox myself and I understand what people are saying with the price, but I agree exactly with what you said: there's currently no similar alternative, and I've tried the tablet shortcut buttons, cintiq remote, and razer tartarus. The genius of the design is definitely all the buttons feeling different, and the multiple scrollwheels (makes such a difference). I still catch myself jumping to the keyboard out of repetition, but I'm definitely going to be making this my main tool.

I like to use a similar peripheral along side the keyboard. I like to have access to scroll wheels for zoom in/out, rotate and brush size. The Tartarus is still probably better but this one looks interesting, imo it needs more keys, i have a ton of things bound to my keys that I always use, things like hue and saturation, invert selection, liquify, flip canvas, a couple of brushes,. This doesn’t look like it can have so many shortcuts, and changing profiles is annoying.

I bought a programmable mouse a few years ago for a similar reason. Still use the keyboard for some stuff because there's not enough keys and my pc sometimes has a problem with double wielding (i.e. pen in the left hand, mouse in the right hand). This would probably work great with my laptop too, because when I am painting on the screen the keyboard is unaccessible.
If it works for left-handed people and the price was okay, I'd consider it.

Seems very usefull and looks like it's really well done and with good drivers which is sadly weird to see, but I still preffer my Razer Tartarus v2, which I got for a third of what the Tourbox costs, and I feel like it's waay more ergonomic, with more buttons, and also with good solid software (at least in my experience I never had any problem with Synapse in 3 years that I've been using this thing, + it shares program with my mouse so I didn't need any extra software in my case)
But as always, very nicely done video

It can make sense from the company point of view i.e. "this is what the market offers and we're gonna follow that line". But if it's expensive for the public people are not gonna buy the one or the other.
