R.I.P. PIPER LAURIE! We will love you forever. You will always be the queen 💗 Thank you for making Margaret White, the scariest mother in cinema history......
Sissy stayed home because her mother said there all gonna laugh at you
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
the remakes can't ever top the original Carrie movie or cast.
They were all pointless remakes
Saw it when I was 8 years old back in 88.
I'm 42 years old, and it still causes my heartbeat to increase when watching it.
Nope! Not even close!
Carrie (2002) KickAss as well as The Original.
Urban Carnage I was just gonna say the same thing. And plus while watching this I was definitely thinking about that.
The original Carrie is still the best, the remakes don't even come close! Sissy is one of my favorite actresses, she plays every part so convincingly in any casting she's in! William Katt was so hot, and PJ's smirk was a perfect line without words! The whole cast was great!
CARRIE IS A MASTERPIECE
Yes! I agree with your opinion strongly!
Absolutely
Yes it was! I love it when Kris got a beating from the gym teacher
In my top 50 of greatest films of all time
One and only 😊
Piper Laurie and sissy spacek were both nominated for oscars for carrie
I can't count how many times I've watched Carrie the 1976 version! I'm watching the modern version now and it stinks! I probably could recite every line verbatim on on the 1976 movie! What a classic Piper Laurie especially you rock!
Susan Haloe the modern one doesn’t stink, it’s actually pretty decent, it’s based off the book not the original movie get over yourself bitch
@@EllieValentineWong people can have there opinions just because you like the new one doesn't mean everyone has to like it as well so I think you need to shut thr hell up and grow up
Nancy still look fabulous!
Here! Here!
I have a crush on her
She does. Glad she is in love. She said she wanted a guy around her age who is cute. Hmm. I don’t see Jay as cute, but if he is very good to Nancy & brings her joy, that is all that matters.
I love P. j. Soles!
This ain't a reunion Carrie herself isn't there
Its not a reunion without the main stars, sissy, william And Amy
Don't forget Travolta!
@@ricomajestic Lol I can't see Travolta doing this, bit like Johnny Depp and A Nightmare On Elm Street.
I've seen Carrie several times. I watched it the other day and it still keeps me the creeps. There are only a few horror films that still do that.
Roger Wissinger Same here. Halloween, Pet Cemetery, to name a few.
Roger Wissinger That and Let's scare Jessica to Death, Burnt Offerings. My 3 favs.
It STILL haunts me,&I'm 39now..first saw carrie in the 80s....
i find it more sad than anything else.
It is a VERY intense movie, especially compared to the crap today. I don't really find it scary in the normal sense cuz you kind of root for Carrie since she is so sympathetic. But as far as intensity and thrills go it's up there with the scariest horror films (I'd include Texas Chainsaw Massacre).
It's so disappointing to me that Sissy Spacek wasn't there at all.
That picture
When he took one chair away, I got disappointed.
Don't forget Brian De Palma.
She probably didn’t want to be splashed with pigs blood again
@pasquale davino You need to practice on your grammar.
What surprises me is that Piper Laurie, a classic actress with a great filmography, wears her "Carrie" pin with great pride.
This is so cool. "Carrie" has been my favorite film since seeing it in its original run in the spring of 1977 at a drive in.
Thanks so much for posting.
bradster67 Wasn't it in '76?
"Carrie" was released in November, 1976, but I didn't see it until April or May of 1977 during its original run.
bradster67 was Carrie not released in 1993
Seriously?
I was joking
I rewatched the movie again last night. Anyone else notice when Carrie's mother comes home, and the school calls the home, and the reaction of Carrie's mother when the phone rings? Clearly the phone rarely if ever rings at their house. Piper played that particular scene very well.
Love how PJ so lovingly supports Nancy. Really kind gesture.
The interviewer is an amateur. Very annoying and at times even insulting. I liked seeing the cast and learning more about the editing. Awesome work.
Also found him very irritating. He sometimes doesn't listen properly.
Agreed. He was awful.
Nancy Allen was definitely my favourite De Palma actress. She was awesome in Blow Out, Carrie and Dressed to Kill. They collaborated well. Also a fan of the 'totally' (Halloween reference for you) PJ Soles and of course, Piper Laurie.
The blonde girl with glasses - is she the one when Carrie said she was nervous, she said “Don’t worry. You’re gonna sit with us.” And she also put the crown on Carrie’s head. Is that her?
No that’s Terry Bolo who played one of the pack of girls who tormented Carrie in the locker room. I can’t remember if she is visible in the actual scene but she’s definitely in the gym “line up” scene where Betty Buckley as Miss Collins so amazingly reads the girls the riot act. She’s got short blonde curly hair in the scene
and holds a pen close to her own chin as she looks quite concerned about how pissed off Miss Collins is.
You’re thinking of Noelle North who played Frieda, who hangs prom decorations with Sue and is very kind to Carrie when she arrives at the prom. Frieda’s date is one of Tommy’s friends. In the novel, Frieda and her date just happen to also be on the ballot for prom king and queen. Noelle North has done, amongst other acting work, a good amount of voice acting including for Disney.
How is it possible that she did not win the best actress award for this movie ? How ? On behalf of all of us who have had the opportinity to see this iconic work by Stephen King, the Oscar for best female performance 1976 goes to Sissy Spacek. Blessings.
It's incredibly difficult to get an Oscar nomination for a horror movie.
They're practically compared to porn movies in a way.
It's politics, man, politics. Horror movies never get the respect that they deserve!
38:30 - 38:38 P.J's laugh though LMFAO
Where the hell is carrie ? The literal main star
I can't believe they attempted the remakes
Why not? Hell, they're planning an FX series.
Except this time she might be black or transgender......
Gotta be "woke" I guess......
@@molasorrosalom4846
Lol
@@molasorrosalom4846 wasn't that cancelled
As an interviewer, it is NEVER a good idea (professional) to gush all over certain guests. It's okay to mention accolades, but he sort of disrespected the 4th female on the panel. He just had a poor choice of words.
I agree totally.
that's the problem with Q&A's like this though. People always tend to do that. It's annoying.
tall32guy Just need better hosts. I hired this guy to interview a panel and he was really good at giving all guests equal attention.
He was just annoying right from the start, starting with his horrible clothes down to his annoying voice made it hard to watch.
Ryan Beaty I thought the same thing when he said "these 3 ladies." I felt embarrassed for the very sweet lady at the end. If she felt bad, she didn't show it. I noticed the interviewer brought up politics 2-3 times. A couple comments he made held significance to the film. However, he makes a comment about "certain political campaigns" which hint at his personal political views. Bringing up Columbine?! I thought it was in poor taste. He did ok though. I like when the William Katt video had a technical difficulty and he filled that awkward moment with a comment about "how great" the lighting was in the prom scene. Good save. I can imagine his job is stressful. I'd be nervous in front of all those screen legends if it was me doing the interviewing. I interview people on a podcast I produce. It's not always easy.
Not a reunion if you don’t have the actual main characters Carrie (sissy) herself, Amy Irving, William Katt, Miss Desjardin, John Travolta. Although grateful Piper and Nancy were there.
Classic!!!!wish I could've attended.&where THE HELL IS SISSY SPACEK,DAMNITT???!!
Great Q&A! Nancy Allen looks terrific!
Doug Cox - The Beak
Terry Bolo - Trudy Bourne
PJ Soles - Norma Watson
*an editor guy*
Nancy Allen - Chris Hargensen
Piper Laurie - Margaret White
Could you please tell me who played Susan Snell's mother, and who played the gym teacher? Sorry, but if it's in the credits, I can't see, since I'm totally blind. Also, Carrie is still one of my favorite movies of all time. I also loved hearing that Stephen King actually liked the movie ending better than the one he gave us in the book. YES!
Btw, I'm hearing what I type, and I read the comments using text-to-speech technology. I am just not able to read the information shown within the video itself. I just wanted to make that information available since people ask questions about how I type and read. Thanks.
Oops. I'm sorry, but I did read who played the Gym teacher.
@@heatherstub Priscilla Pointer, Amy Irving’s real mother, played Sue Snell’s mother
@@davidpar2 Thank you so much. She was a perfect fit.
@@heatherstubMs. Betty Lynn Buckley, gym teacher extraordinaire
Wow. I've seen bad interviewers before, but this guy gets the Razzie. Get him off the stage.
That interviewer/host needs to be removed immediately! His lack of professionalism is outrageous!
The majority of interviewers suck
😂 what a jerk. He was so annoying
And no one ever questioning the hail stones coming through the ceiling, even as a teenager and seeing the movie for the first time in the 80s something about it just made sense, like when the apocalypse is coming you just assume fire brimstone rocks from the sky, in this case hail stones, huge ones.
rhymeandreasoning They do discuss the meteorites.
cissy spacek,john travolta,betty bucley,william katt,brian de palma ?
Ran into this preCarrieously..Im stoned AF, but that intro, yo, was so freaken delightful!!!
they filmed the opening scene when CARRIE is a little girl where the heck did the shot film end up?? Was it lost. destroyed ? And I wish someone would talk more and indepth about the filming and production of the prom scene.. Piper Laurie everything about her I love. GREAT MOVIE !!! HUGE FAN.
rhymeandreasoning I've seen it before. I don't know if it was taken of UA-cam or what.
ARE YOU SERIOUS ?? The filmed scenes from CARRIE actually do exist? DAMN I wish they would put the deleted/unused scenes/ filmed scenes on blu ray as an extras feature..
No, the scene no longer exists... that person probably just saw a couple of the photos that are floating around from that scene. Back then they didn't usually keep deleted scenes from movies, especially not for lower-budgeted movies like Carrie, because they didn't think they'd have any use for them.
it was an awesome part in the book. really wish they could have made it work. that and the destruction of the whole town at the end. in the book the death toll is 440!
BTW... I'm just now reading the Paul Hirsch book he wrote and that just published a few weeks ago. I think he pulls several comments from the CARRIE cast from this very panel. Quotes from Piper and Nancy Allen are literally word for word what they say here.
The books is great! All about his career in editing. Look it up!
WOW !!!!Thank you for this..LOVE IT !!!
Loved the movie a true 70s gem! Was banned in South Africa only released 1982! Would love to see it on a huge screen with digital surround sound! Blessings and happy thoughts! 😇🙏🔊🎉🎶
Carrie had a MASSIVE cast. In this I see only Nancy Allen and P.J. Soles showed up.
While I get that Sissy Spacek, John Travolta, and Betty Buckley weren't there, it would have been cool to see Amy Irving and William Katt. I wonder if they were even asked to attend and turned it down? We just don't know what kind of process it takes to get all these people there. I think it would have been cool maybe to have some more of the supporting cast.
@der22672 Considering Nancy was involved in planning this event, I’m inclined to believe they all would have been contacted. Sissy spends most of her non-working time in West Virginia, Betty left NYC fulltime and when she’s not filming or touring with her music she’s on her ranch in Texas, John is who knows where flying planes, i think Amy lives primarily in NYC these days, and I’m not sure about William. But I agree with you 100%, I don’t think I’ve ever seen an interview with Amy and William together, which would be interesting. I read they were actually a couple in their younger days, a few years before they were cast in Carrie, and remained friends after the romance ended. I’ll bet it’s a nightmare trying to schedule one of these things. They’ve all had interesting careers, helped along to some degree by their work in this film. I read Betty was cast in Eight Is Enough primarily by the producers having seen her in Carrie, and that was years before her Tony Award. I sure went off on tangents here, sorry.
carl martin No apologies necessary. Cool Eight Is Enough and Carrie connection..... I assume you watched EIE, you mentioned Betty Buckley. One of my fave shows back in the late 70s growing up as a teen. Betty and John Travolta were of course in Carrie, then later Betty was cast as the wife and stepmom "replacing" Diana Hyland who was at the time of her untimely death was involved with John.
@der22672 EIE was a staple in our
house when i was a kid we all loved it. it was a bit like the Brady Bunch reruns but with more serious plotlines. I did know about Hyland and her sad end and the connections to so many. Small world in that industry at that time. Another sort of connection is how Mark Hamill was the original oldest David on EIE with Hyland playing his mom and then he leaves to play Luke Skywalker which William Katt was also in the running for. There’s video on here of one of his auditions with Kurt Russell reading for Han Solo, you’ve probably seen it. Love 70s entertainment.
@@carlmartin2710 You're right about Amy and William having been a couple a few years prior. In the early scene of Mrs. Snell watching TV at home, you can see a picture of Sue and Tommy together sitting on the table next to her; this is actual memorabilia from their relationship that Priscilla Pointer brought along to the set.
Kevin R.M. Richardson I did not know that about the photo... really fun story. I love the idea of Ms. Pointer being both an actress and a “Mom” on the set with Amy, right down to providing the photo to fit in with the film’s characters. Thanks for pointing that out. Also fun fact I’ve been falling asleep here and there to old episodes of Mannix, and another show called Cannon, both tv series I was too
young to remember in first run, that air now late night on the MeTV network. Priscilla Pointer has popped up more than once during these viewings.
Piper Laurie amazing legend artist 👏👏
Kinda hard to believe that a horror movie would have a wonderful script with characters
Wow. It's great to see so many people from one of my favorite movies. I'm a fan of Stephen King. He had been so fed up with rejections he actually threw the book he wrote 'Carrie' in the trash. His wife got it out of the trash and submitted the story. 'Carrie' ended up being, in many ways, the beginning of his successes as a writer. That book led to this great film. If there are any fellow writers out there, I recommend his book 'On Writing: A Memoir to the Craft.' I believe that's the title. It's very late and I'm very tired. Lol Thanks to the person who uploaded this video.
" and i had a towel on and i didnt want my parents to see it"
No Sissy Spacek? 😡
Hosni Guiling Right! Like, wtf!
Or John Travolta, or William Katt, or Betty. Or Amy. Wtf! lol
=*(
She was probably too busy or just otherwise unavailable
It'd have been nice if all the main stars were there but, as the Rolling Stones would say, you can't always get what you want
Still a fun Q&A ;)
she was a bit busy........................
Nancy is pretty but I have always had a thing for PJ Stoles she has pretty eyes.
Where is Sissy, John and Amy????
Miss Collins was in on the joke. All that is missing is Amy Irving
They do NOT makes movies like this anymore!!!!
Love this movie!!
I feel like a lot of you people don't recognize BRYAN FULLER acting as moderator. For those who don't know, he's the creator of the HANNIBAL TV show along with American Gods, Pushing Daisies, Mockingbird Lane, Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me and Star Trek Discovery. He has also written some of the best episodes of HEROES (really the only good ones for my money...he established Cheerleader Girl in the first season), Star Trek Voyager, and Deep Space Nine.
Fuller also wrote the script for the admittedly not great 2002 remake of CARRIE.
Thing is, that made for TV movie actually follows the book pretty closely.
Except for Carrie living in the end.
Somehow they were going to make a TV series about her......
great stuff.
I don't believe that this panel is not on the blu ray
The interviewer is NOT an idiot. Yes, I agree he left one of the ladies out when giving a compliment, and that wasn't right. But the rest of the interview went just fine.
Someone commented on his alwful clothing, really? Have you ever SEEN Carrie? He is dressed to go to a 1976 prom, geez.
#Carrieforpromqueen
love this movie and all the women
No estuvo Sissi Spacek en esa reunión conmemorativa bueno supongo qué no pudo estar, suponiendo que la invitaran al evento. Ella hizo un excelente trabajo, y canalizo el personaje ala perfección gran actriz.
this was posted on my birthday
So the next time when you're watching the shower scene just say you're looking at the credits 😂😂
Carrie marcou minha juventude❤demais 😊
I'm so lucky to own a 35mm print of Carrie
Best Moviegang of all time!!!
Piper Laurie is the queen.
Yes she is. I love Piper Laurie.....💓
Paul Hirsch's story though lolololol! 38:25
Movie or not, I don’t blame “Carrie” for not being there. I wouldn’t want to see any of them either
🤣🤣🤣Piper Laurie played as the evil spiritual Queen just like Yorda's mother from Ico!!!😎
Piper Laurie is queen.
Hi from 2024! Soon this movie is 50!
Piper Lauri Its a sin to sit at the front😝
He dissed the fourth woman? This host was crap!
I agree. Respect a worthy, kind actor always.
Too bad Sissy Spacek and William Katt weren't present...
sorry not time maybe not wiliam katt
If anyone was wondering where is Sissy I told her to stay home😌 bc they would all laugh at her
Nancy Allen and P.J still look hot over 60 :-)
what is wrong with the host?
Wait, is the guy interviewing them really trying to pull a tommy Ross with that getup!? Lol please, take a seat buddy, there is only one tommy Ross
AMEN!!!
Yes, he was a real American hero!
True
Where was this at?
For the record "Carrie" never played on ABC it debut on CBS in 1978
PJ Soles was one of the best cute mean girls ever, in both Carrie and Breaking Away.
Paul Hirsch also edited another Brian DePalma movie..... Phantom of the Paradise.
CARRIE the main person ain't here. William/Tommy the boy next door of he's era ain't here too.
What if someone threw a pad on the stage 💀
I remember seeing a pad in an overpass on a school campus. I immediately thought Carrie must be attending or at least her enemies.
Amy Irvig, either.
First question, in the book, the kids at the prom were laughing at Tommy being hit in the head with that bucket, not Carrie. And it looks that way in the movie.
In the book they were unfortunately laughing at her.
Even the gym teacher sort of was laughing.
Shock does weird things to people. People in shock do weird things.
@@nomiddlenamenmn427 This was six years ago so I have no clue what this even is anymore.
It's almost unbelievable that Nancy and PJ played such mean, bitchy girls, when you can tell both are extremely sweet and really like Sissy.
May I know who is the lady on the right, wearing a red scarf? I don’t recall her in the Carrie, 1976. What is the name of her role in Carrie, 1976? What is this actress’ real name?
The actress is Terry Bolo. She played one of Carrie’s classmates who is punished by Betty Buckley as Miss Collins for tormenting Carrie in the locker room.
You forgot Sissy Spacek yo
I don't know who the guy who is the moderator or mc is but he is appalling and dense that I turned it off within 4 minutes. Yuck!
Where's Sissy???
BUSY
She was afraid to go since they might poor blood on her when she walked on stage.
@@jimm7098 And they was all going to laugh at her 🤣
How come Sissy Spacek wasn't there.
Wish Amy Irving was there
The portrayals of the characters are so real, for years I hated Nancy Allen for how she treated Carrie. I, also thought that Piper Laurie was a religious fanatical kook. Great performances!
PJ soles is 66 there
I didn't catch who the first lady introduced was. I recognise Nancy Allen, PJ Soles and Piper Laurie.
the first lady is the girl at the prom who says "i love your dress" and carrie tells her she made it.
Ah, thank you!
Sati1979 They were wrong. She was not Frieda (the nice girl at the prom). She was one of the girls who threw tampons at Carrie. (The one with blond short hair)
You can see her in class, during calisthenics, and at prom (She has curly short hair)
oh geez you're right, the only reason i said it was her is because the host said at the beginning she was the girl who was super nice to carrie at the prom, my bad.
Sati1979 Betty Buckley the gym teacher
Hahaha🤫🤔😷They'll fix you #Lewis, they fix everything, lol. - Nancy Allen
If you're refering to the movie "Dressed to Kill", that's a great one!
It’s no good without sissy main character where sue and Betty Buckley this film Carrie was about bullying girls were throwing tampons at her were mean girls I didn’t like were Chris hated her and Norma mrs mario loved piper character Magret White and sissy did the best performance in this film by far they deserved a nomination amazing actresses
Disgusting how Marcia Lucas's work is still being disrespected and erased. SHE edited the original Star Wars trilogy, thank you.
Will there be another one?? I WANNA MEET TOMMY
Damn.......PJ has got some long legs that fill out those jeans VERY nicely !!!!
Aside from Ms. Laurie and the girl on the end, I don't recognize these people!
I'll like the idea when they wear black just like the spirits when the Queen orders them to capture Yorda to put her BACK INTO HER CAGE!!😈
even carrie has to be political????
