I saw this Betty B on Broadway in the late 90's. She was Nora Desmond in Sunset Blvd. Her voice is freaking amazing. I watched her on Eight is Enough and of course Carrie and she was in a movie with Harrison Ford called Frantic. That movie is fantastic. I love her!!!
Interesting Betty said 12 and Nancy said 29. I wonder how come Nancy married Brian after treating her like that way. Hard to argue he was not being manipulative, even sadistic. No one should be treated like that. It seemed cruel. Great clip.
@@ImnotassweetasIusedtobe True and very good point. Though that's interesting you say that about some women not knowing what abuse is because you could argue Nancy Allen's character in the movie was abusive. She was a mean b$tch!
Well Betty is from Texas so you can still hear a little of it in interviews when she’s not acting. Nancy is from New York City and there’s a little of that in her earlier speech but I think a lot of that faded for her as time went on and she lived mostly in California. She was new to Hollywood back when she was cast in Carrie.
Brian DePalma married Nancy Allen a few years later; also Betty Buckley would go on to play Tom Bradford's (Dick Van Patten) 2nd wife and the kids' stepmom on "Eight is Enough." Also, John Travolta had something of an affair with Diana Hyland (who died in 1977), who played the 1st Mrs. Bradford and the kids' birth mom.
Nancy Allen has aged extremely well.
She is, and she was only 26 during that film too!
I'm glad that a new generation has been introduced to Buckley thanks to M. Night S and Split.
Sotnas, Split was phenomenal
Until you said it, I had no idea she was Dr. Fletcher.
One of the best movie slaps!
They have all aged really nicely as well :-)
With some plastic surgery and acid peels.
Betty Buckley is only three years older than Nancy Allen. Nancy has weathered a bit better I’d say.
I liked Nancy Allen in Robocop.
they all aged so well
Thanks for this. Love "CARRIE"
This isn’t over! This isn’t over by a long shot!
Best slap I have ever seen in a movie! 🖐
29 times? Damn! And I'm watching it right now you can tell her hand hurt after doing all that slapping. 😂😂
hehehehehe
Betty Buckley was so great in this movie! As a child I was so sad when she died in the movie..not knowing it wasn't real! lol
I loved her as ms collins
I was reading really fast and when I first read your comment I thought that she had actually died IRL!

Hate to think how poor Nancy Allen had to put up with 30 hard slaps one after another. No she didn't deserve it!
They look great
They were both hot in Carrie.
A classic Stephen King Gem of a film this film has the most wonderful and Talented cast of stars
Not presuming anything but sure seems like De Palma had a bit a slap fetish😂people getting whacked around this whole movie, Damn

Oh wow, are the still married? Many women marry abusers and don't realize it's abuse....

@@ImnotassweetasIusedtobeThey divorced in 1983.
Brilliant film
Does anyone else notice their accents changed or does that have something to do with sound recording from the 70s?
Like how 90s people suddenly talks different today, language and speech have an evolution

@@EastSide-qc5oy Exactly
Sounds about the same to me
No, they just got old lol

❤loved that scene
She slapped the dayummmmm out of her!!!😅😅
I like your forehead.
DePalma is ridiculous. A fake slap has the same effect. It even looked fake in the final film.
Fake would never be as good as real!
29 times? Jesus Christ
💖💛
Does Nancy ever not look hot?
Never ❤
