SECRET Life is Strange Character in DONTNOD's New Game (Lost Records: Bloom and Rage)

- With DONTNOD's new title, Lost Records: Bloom and Rage approaching, I thought it'd be fun to go through some speculation and theories about a potential returning Life is Strange character, related to the protagonist of this upcoming game! Velvet Cove may be hiding a few secrets, specifically to do with Swann Holloway - so let's try to uncover them.

AAAAAAAAA!!!! It just shows how much DONTNOD care and want to continue what they started. LIS2 was my absolute favorite of the series, so them giving us the technical LIS3 continuation of the world all these people live in is just so cool. Can't waiittttttttttttttttt
That’s really interesting that Swann and Brody share the same surname, that’s something i completely missed. Them being siblings would be really cool
I noticed this as soon as I saw Swann had the same name on Brody’s blog, definitely not a coincidence, I think 😅
Games like Lost Records and Tell Me Why feel like they could belong in the world of LIS.

I hope this is true simply due to the fact that Deck Nine and Square Enix out right avoided making references or easter eggs to LiS 2 in True Colors other than like two outfits for Alex. LiS 2 deserves better.
LiS is the best one in the franchise, and also the most underrated one, just SAD,when I've played I felt like it was the only game in the entire franchise that wasn't afraid to touch sensible topics, I felt like they gave total control of the project in the hand of the developers, and didn't censored, I loved the bold everything in the game is (when compared to the other ones).
I wasn't sure where you were going with this one, but I can see this being a thing. I honestly could see Brody being her little brother, if he's maybe 12 in 1995 that'd put him at 33 in LIS2 which seems pretty legit to me.

They could be half siblings or step siblings what if he found his sisters videos and started documenting weird phenomena and people with powers
i personally believe in this theory, i think legally they don’t *have* to own the rights to life is strange to make such big references (see the relationship between bayonetta and devil may cry)
however, they’re still in the right to refuse it, and knowing mr square enix, they probably would
i feel like even if it's not SUPER obvious, they're probably going to slip something in?? DMC/bayo is a really good example of that actually
Oh if only Life is Strange had the chance to expand like DONTNOD wanted! 😢 putting my hopes up on Lost Records!

Oh, how I wish Swann and Brody would be related to each other …! I personally think their similar looks and the same surname could be a nice reference, but not much more, considering Don’t Nod doesn’t own the rights to Life is Strange anymore; and also, didn’t Brody describe his family as “having money, but no soul”? This doesn’t fit Swann at all …
(Oh, I just checked the LIS wiki and apparently, he also appears in the comics? And according to them, he was born in November 1996? Not sure about the source tbh, but if it’s true, he was born over a year after the events of Lost Records … but could still have a cameo in the present timeline.)
As unlikely as his reappearance may be, I still hope for it … Brody was one of my favorite characters in Life is Strange 2 and I would love to see him again, or at least know that he and Swann are more-or-less distantly related :)
(Even unlikelier Easter Egg: Brody appearing in the present timeline and referencing Sean and Daniel. Damn, that would be a dream come true!)

I hate how they don’t have the rights to lis especially because i liked the idea of every game having a different story to tell so the possibility that they’re forever gonna play it safe by making a multiple continuations of the first lis which isn’t that interesting to me because i liked the first one but loved the second them completely doing it for fan service scares me because of the fact that now there are 4 different lis games about the same cast that already wasn’t my biggest things makes my interest dull don’t get me wrong the first lis game is what got me interested in the franchise but the games that had different cast is what kept me hooked

As a counterpoint to this theory, Michel Koch told me this last year regarding Don't Nod re-using names:

Nicholas, Maggie, and the cabin are unrelated in our minds."
That was in response to when I asked him if the Nicholas (formerly named John) we meet in Haven Point is the same as the John who is the son of the former owner of the ep2 cabin & I'd also pointed out how Maggie (the cabin owner's daughter) had shown up in the game.
I suppose it's also possible Michel was just not in charge of that aspect of the game and some other random employee created the intended connection between characters and that it got muffled during development due to not all of the developers being aware or on-board with the connection.
DONTNOD doesn't have the rights to The Life is Strange IP. Swann and Brody can't be related because they live in entirely different universes.
I noticed the name coincidence awhile back, but I never actually looked at their appearances to see if it's reasonable. But yeah, it is.
Nevertheless, they can't encroach on Square Enix's IP of Life is Strange, so there will never be official confirmation.
I remember something about him being related to the Prescotts and wanting to distance himself from them so he changed his name. I think that might have been debunked though but if not he might have picked that sir name because he was inspired by her work.
I thought the new game was called Double Exposure? Is this like a DLC or a stand-alone different game?

i want to see little brody sm!! i really hope they are siblings i feel like we didn't saw him enough in lis2 i hoped to see him again the whole game, he was just so cool. and i already love swann sm i can't wait to play the game (and the detail of the aroace shirt i'm screaming i love don't nod).

I’ve watched you for years and didn’t even realize i wasn’t subscribed somehow lol. What do you think about True Colors now that it’s been a couple years since your review ? I still am insanely unpleased with it and think it’s actually the worst game I’ve ever played in this sort of “movie like with choices” genre. Life is Strange 2 is my favorite game ever and the first game is amazing as well (even if nostalgia biases that). I also don’t really like BTS at all. I’m just curious what your thoughts are now that it’s been a while.

Sorry. I don't buy it. It just seems way too absurd for me. I'm convinced that Lost Records and LiS are gonna share a universe, but I really doubt that we will encounter a character connected to the LiS games. Why would they launch a new brand, if their plan was to expand the franchise right now?
Just stick to facts and stay on topic about the new games.
Nobody cares about supposed symbols people make up stories about in a game they finished years ago. Like so many other UA-camrs you just keep flogging a dead horse talking about topics about as useful as a fly screen in a submarine.
