@@RTSRetroTechShed Excellent! Nice setup. I'm also using an IC-9700 but went for the Kuhne up converter and 23m of AVA5-50 from my shack to the dish. Not perfect and a little lossy but I'm managing to get a pretty good signal into the satellite. It would be good to meet you on there :)
Thanks. Yes, pretty much PnP. The only configuration required is moving a few jumpers depending on whether you're using a GPSDO or internal oscillator (default is internal). You may also need to adjust the gain on the downconverter to suit your setup. I have long coax runs, so mine is set to max, then I make adjustment as required using the RF gain on the radio.
Hi David. I used a sat finder app on my phone to align the dish for Es'Hail 2 (QO-100), then tuned up on the beacon and made final tweaks of the dish by hand for peak signal. 73 de Andy, M0VOX
I am down-converting X-Band (10GHz) to a 2m (144 MHz) IF and up-converting a 70cm IF to S-Band (2.4 GHz). The radio I am using in the permanent solution is an Icom IC-9700 which is capable of full duplex on 2m/70cm. The video shows an Icom IC-705, but just to demonstrate/test the receive using the down-converted 2m IF. However, there is another DX Patrol product (QO-100 Groundstation) that I believe does support both uplink and downlink using a common 70cm IF (half duplex), so it may be worth taking a look at their website - www.dxpatrol.pt. You can see my completed setup with the Icom IC-9700 in this video: ua-cam.com/video/irpAN9H2KU4/v-deo.html
What and where did you get that box. looks ideal.
Nice Work - Hope to work soon on QO-100 de DL6BEN 🍀
Yes, look forward to it. Finally got round to sorting my uplink: ua-cam.com/video/irpAN9H2KU4/v-deo.html
Hi, is there a link to the smal 👌power delay?
Something like this should do the trick: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191847845606
Is it possible you to show the block diagram for your setup.
Hi. I've not got one handy, but I'll see if I can put a Visio diagram together when I get time
Hi, how did you split the GPSDO signal to both up and down converters?
Hi. The GPSDO has multiple 10MHz reference outputs, so I feed one to the up-converter and one to the down-converter.
@@RTSRetroTechShed I didn't notice. Thank you, 73
Look forward to working you on QO-100 de M0SNR

Hi great video, can a kit be bought plug n play style ?.

Hi, which frequency band do you use for your uplink? 433 or 1296?
Hi Rick. I'm using 432 for the uplink IF into the DX Patrol upconverter, then 2.4GHz to the patch antenna
Would you please describle how you "tweeked" your final QO-100 dish alignment... 73's

So is everything transverted down from X band so that you are transmitting and receiving in the 2m band on your radio and you can use your IC-705?
