Great video Matt, thanks! Can you please tell me where you got the dish from as I am building my own ground station for QO-100 and would like to purchase the same dish as the one in the video. Thanks.
Yes I was driving the Upconverter with my TS2000 directory. A DX Patrol amp might not require a pre amp if used with their up converter. I was using a EReon amp which requires a 400mW input for full power.
I am a newbie wishing to upgrade from a LEO satellite operator to a GEO satellite operator. Are there options to start without giving in a 10 MHz signal, a setup which builds its own signal like a stand alone HF radio or VHF/UHF radio? 73 de Jon, VU2JO
There is the DX Patrol ground station, which is essentially an upconverter, a downconverter and an amp all in one box. You still need a radio or two for receive and tx though. QO100 is kind of specialist, but even "off the shelf" products have a lot of configuration.
This is seriously cool stuff you're doing Mat! Happy new year.
Thank you for sharing. Happy New Year. Happy Hamming.
You’re welcome! :)
You’ve certainly got a better signal from the new location Matt and with the dish ground mounted!! 73 Gm4zji Chris
Absolutely Chris! DATV is also nice and strong :)
Gw7bzy, looking forward to seeing you soon on qo 100
another interesting video Mat, thanks
You’re welcome Dave! Thanks 🙏

Thanks for comment, but I honestly can’t remember. I guess it would of been Amazon or eBay, don’t think I’ve bought a dish from anywhere else before.
good job Deepan. 👋👋
Are you drinving the TS2000 directly to the converter? And why a preamp between the converter and DXPatrol amp?

As per specs the DX Patrol PA has an output of 12W/28V. How does it compare (experience) with your SG Labs PA of 20W?
Does the 705 do 1296? (it would be better if the radio was at least showing one of the 28/144/432/1296 freq too).
The 705 doesn't do 23cm. Only up to 70cm.
The image is a placeholder for what ever transmitter you want to put there :)
Thanks for an interesting vid mate!
Thanks, Mat 😁
