When our son did his music degree, we bought him a 5-string Yamaha Bass. It came with a 5-Year Warranty, which to me was a mark of confidence in their product.
He's had that Bass for over 10 years, and its still his main Bass.
Yamaha Pacifica Guitars... That warms my heart man. Really awesome to see you guys selling these. My first parts caster was a Yamaha. Loved that thing.
I don't think that they are selling them. They just borrowed a few to show us these things
Yamaha is a stellar stellar stellar company. They make amazing stuff at every price point. There is a reason the logo is three tuning forks.
Yamaha guitars are so good. Even the base models.
That blue finish is gorgeous.
Yamaha has really stepped it up in recent years.
I own a Revstar Standard RSS02T with P90s and it get more play time than all my other electrics.
I had considered getting the MIJ Pro model but the Standard is so good I felt no need once I played it a bit. After it settled in for a few weeks I did a setup and it has remained stable. Tuners are smooth and stable. Fret work excellent. Pickups awesome. Starting to feel 'played in' after less than a year. Set up with DR Blues pure nickel 10-46, she just sings the blues.
To me, the "best" guitars are the ones that disappear to your awareness when playing them. See the frets, feel the flow, let it sing.
I had the base Revstar and a Pacifica HSS that I bought used for $125. They were INCREDIBLE. Fit and finish were amazing, and the frets played like GLASS. They were some of the best playing guitars I owned.
Nice looking guitars. Great playing guys ! 🎸👍
I gigged for years with a Pacifica 712. I gave it to my son and he loves it and every time I go visit him I take it from his rack and play it. I know way more about guitars now and didn’t realise how great that guitars really was when I owned it. It’s solid and plays incredibly well. I bought a Silver sky a few months ago but should have waited to get the Professional. Oh wait I can use another strat lol!!!
I have a used older Pacifica, and every day I thank that person for selling it to the guy that I bought it from. It will NEVER leave my collection. It also inspired me to buy two THR amps. So I'm kind of a Yamaha junkie lol. The tones I get out of that Pacifica are pure mojo to me.
I've always loved Yamahas. My first acoustic was an early years Yamaha Red Label. I loaned it to a friend who sold it. Never spoke to that person again. Have an SA-2100 that looks and plays even better than my Gibson 335. It's absolutely a work of art, and with the push-push pots, it is absolutely the most versatile guitar I will ever own.
Johnathan bringing some funk to da house 💥
I still miss the old set.
That is so wild about Nentendo!!! great demo guy
I love Yamaha guitars. You should try a Revstar
They are pretty looking guitars.
I have a Yamaha bass that I bought second hand and I love it. Whomever had it before must have been a slapper because the action was way too low (and I like low action) but once I did a set up on it, it plays like a dream. I like it better than some of the more expensive stuff.
You gents need to try FGN guitars
Hey guys 😊
I just bought a Yamaha rev star. It’s an Indonesian model. I swear it’s not just a good bang for the buck but it is above a lot of things above it’s price range and is so versatile it’s crazy.
Me too...my RSS20 gets more playing time than all my strats Clapton included
How much for the White Standard Plus?
Cool beans.
The Yamaha logo looks like three tuning forks. These guitars seem pretty good actually. My first instrument, a trumpet, was a Yamaha. It was a decent horn for being a student model. The case was just about nuke proof.
They symbolize three tuning forks right from the beginning of this company. Even their bikes had this logo for a long time.
@@jjmuni nice! I just noticed when I saw the background logo today and wondered how long I just thought it was some random design.
Great demo, I know Jonathan and his technique are used to fatty fat necks as a reference point, and he was still playing with his thumb rapped over and with webbing/partial palm support behind the neck, so im guessing they really must have worked on their neck shape/size/dimensions as opposed to older models this style of technique doesn't suit, (which i still love tho:). Cheers bois👍
Yamaha never gets any traction because they're not perceived as cool. The 'perceived' part is important because 'cool' doesn't exist in objective reality.
way to complicated.... they don't look cool.
I perceive them as cool.
I dunno, i just love em
What other company can you get a generator and a sxs to carry and play your amp and guitar off grid and it is all the same company?
that's good because? not really into chinese generators anyhow
I want an HH version
Revstar RSS20 love mine!!
Did Yamaha build the guitar, or is it just branded?
Yamaha has built its own factories in China and Indonesia; they are not built by third parties.
My first acoustic was a pawn shop Yamaha. Later in life I discovered how lucky I was to get an orange label 1979 for 200 bucks…
Yep, same here. Had one of the earliest Nippon Gakki red labels, and I miss that guitar to this day, 40 years later.
Yamaha have been making pianos since 1900.
Yes. As a motorcycle rider back in the 70's, the Yamaha motorcycle company was always referred to as "The Old Piano Maker". I have always thought the crossed tuning forks company logo was cool too.
@@k9er233 To be fair, the motorcycle company was always a separate one (although always owned by the main corporation.)
I did not know about their corporate structure or company separations re: motor vehicles and musical instruments. What I do know about is the 3 crossed tuning forks logo on the gas tank of all of my Yamaha motorcycles since my first one that was built in 1968. Same logo as the ones on my Yamaha guitars and pro audio gear. Great company with high quality products. 👍@@johnbriggs3916
I love you guys, and usually your videos have great audio. But the audio quality on this video is terrible. What happened?
Relics are so last year! lol
It's a shame they don't make a hardtail variation.
i hear ya, i want a boring looking guitar made a lil more mundain by removing the tremelo. i hope they have it in tan
I know how you guys felt. I had to sell my first and second Esteban guitar. Good news. Almost a year later I got one that I kept. Now I have three.
Most likely a 13” radius, that seems to be standard of Yamaha electrics
Not bad….but do we presently need even more guitars flooding the market????
I’m thinking this every time I walk in one of those big stores. Mostly a waste of timber. But those Yamahas are great tools.
We don’t. But these have been around a long long time and we do need them.
There’s Chinese made guitars with SS frets and a whole lot more. Gibson and Fender need to step their game up. These other companies are leaving them behind.
I don’t think Fender is losing sleep over these releases. I am betting these are great guitars but just try and resell a two thousand dollar Chinese guitar. 😂😂
@@d.wilson1402 If I had to guess, I'd guess these are Indonesian not Chinese.
My only electric guitar is a Yamaha Pacifica. It was priced right, sounds great, and fit my needs. I am primarily an acoustic player but wanted to expand a bit. But I didn't want to spend the "big bucks". Will I move on from it at some point and go for another brand? Probably. But this one is working fine. If I get another, it will be a Fender or... PRS!
2,2k$ ? For that kind of jack, why wouldnt I just get a fender? Yamaha resale value...not impressive. I have one of thier teles from '98 that is awesome
Because the Fender wouldn't be as good, in the eyes of many. That's subjective, but people rave about Yamaha's build quality. You'll get the flatter fingerboard compound radius, the control knob moved from right where it interferes with palm-muting, chambering and the resonance treatment and Neve Reflectone pickus, etc. I've got the Pacifica Std. and a Fender Pro II Strat, and prefer the Pacifica. Go for what you want, Fenders can be great, but Yamaha guitars aren't a less-than brand. As for resale, that is a factor. Many don't intend to resell guitars like this. If resale is primary though, consider Gibson.
Because there's people who care more about quality than status..
y'all need a new mic. i have to crank your videos to hear the talking. the music is plenty loud.
Nah, they need an editor that can mix sound better 😂😂😂
He doesn't understand how a a guitar can have SS frets at $1300?
They don’t play cheap stuff usually so they don’t know about the sub-$1,000 guitars with SS frets and all the “High End” specs.
Yamaha is one of the all time great companies but 2k for that is too much.
Yamaha engines have also found their way into automobiles by Volvo, Toyota and Ford
There are sub $200 guitars that come with quality stainless steel frets. flame roasted maple necks, locking tuners etc (Firefly Guitars). The fact that Gibson or Fender won't offer stainless steel frets as a standard option on their significantly more expensive guitars is a sham. As long as the bulk of their current buyers are looking for faithful reissues of old guitars, and are willing to play big money for them, there is little incentive for Gibson or Fender to innovate and or provide modern features. Once all the boomers die off, who is going to want the same guitars your grandpa played?
looks like strats...
Nintendo started off as a hanafuda playing card company in 1889. As far as I know, they did not have anything to do with fishing.
Baxter may look like an idiot and talk like an idiot but don't be fooled: he really is an idiot 😉
why?..... mic drop!
I can’t bring myself to spent $2200 on a guitar that isn’t even made by Yamaha , but is made by CORT in Indonesia, no way, I don’t like those anyway.
Yamaha built their own factory in Indonesia. Not sure where you got your info, but Cort does NOT make Yamaha guitars
Get your facts straight…Standard Plus built in Yamaha’s own Indonesian factory, the Professional like is assembled by an individual Yamaha master craftsman at their Japanese factory where they make relatively few electric guitars.
Hate it. The pickups sound way to hi fi. I don’t know if that’s the right word
No matter how much those guitars cost(Yamaha Pacifica), in this country, they will always be viewed as a Squire.
Back in the day, Carlos Santana played Yamahas for quite a few years.
Only by people over a certain age.
It's ok. Those of us who know how good Yamaha is, would rather have the snobs not hype these so the prices don't go up.
Nintendo made playing cards
No maple board, no sale....
They have both new Pacifica levels with maple fretboard options
not for me....... literally
too much blah blah blah and not enough tonal showcasing
