Unknown Mortal Orchestra would be really cool!
I've just been getting into them, anything in particular you'd like to know about?
@@tonton_bkg Their whole album Multi-Love is really really cool! Some songs that really capture my ear are Can't Keep Checking My Phone and The World Is Crowded
Thanks man!
agreed!!!
@@tonton_bkg I'm not sure if you did the video on them or not, as this is my first video of yours I've seen, but I'd love to know how they got that guitar tone on the Hunnybee solo.
You’re the man, thank you
bro this is so helpful
FIRE!!!!!!
nice little nod to Keith Emerson in that synth bit.
excelent video i came looking for silver and i found gold greetings from mexico

I’m currently in the works of making an album and wanted to go with a psychedelic vibe and this helped a lot! Thank you!
Glad to help :D
Did you finish your album
Really enjoyed the song at the end!
Wow, this was so helpful! Tame Impala is one of my favorites too, and now I have even more of an appreciation for Kevin Parker. Very cool track at the end!
that Cmaj7 Ebmaj7 Dmaj7 progression though.
Thank for a lovely demoing. It was a pleasure to watch and hear.

Hello, i love the song you made at the end, did you put this music on spotify, soundcloud or anything ?? I just need to listen to it like i realy fckin love it.
This is exactly the type of video I've been looking for, a music theory breakdown of my fave artist, time to deep dive into your archive of videos, thank you for this!!
awesome video!! thanks!
Man i love this ,just freaking awesome! Please keep making these videos!
Mikecrophone Drums I’ve got one in the oven right now :)
This sounds so good it sounds like dungen when the second guitar comes up after the synth interlude, super awesome job I loved it!!
Never thought of it like that but you’re totally right! :)
Very impressive video and easy to understand! You’re an excellent teacher I must say!
Hey, amazing video! You're doing a great job here and explain everything perfectly.
Bro this video is great! Thank you!!
Thanks for making this so easy and for the examples! :)
I love this video, it actually helped me a bit to figure out some progression that I could use for my recent album. Very cool!
Great video! Would love to see more videos analyzing chord progressions/theory within the genre :) !
Solid video - something clicked for me, between your clear explanation and the guitar/piano visuals. I really liked the jam at the end, too!
Thanks! Glad to hear it - music theory isn't worth much if you don't implement it imo
Great tutorial! Keep it up ❤️
Bravo ! Well done. Excellent instruction. Final product was pure ear candy. Brilliant. Thank you, you got another sub here.
Holy shit, u went crazy at the end so good man
really good video!! came to this looking for production tips, but i was pleasantly surprised by some music theory! keep it up man!
kazki That was the thought behind making it; everyone always talks about his production but he is a great songwriter as well!
You killed it Yonatan!
Aww thanks!
Wow!
I love this video, thank you.
Thank YOU!
איזה מבטא אתה אלללל אהבתי את הסרטון ואת הערוץ בכללי. מגיב בכוונה בערבית, כבוד!
great video, I really appreciate this.
Appreciate it!
Brilliant. Great explanation and practical application at the end. You got my sub.
Great video! Just learned (well, technically knew it but not used) that sweet sweet shape for M7 chords rooted on D string and it gave soo much new ideas and possibilities
I think you'll like Ms. Crumby by The Audition, the intro uses this very shape with some hint of Emajor as well....
Hey how about a video on the Holy Drug Couple? Great video btw
excellent work dude! I'd love for you to cover Khruangbin
Thanks! A lot of harmonic similarities between them and Tame if I remember correctly. It may be worth giving them another listen.
Really good delivery in this video! Clear and engaging
major Lonerism vibes from the example jam, loved this video. feeling inspired to write a psychedelic rock song now...
My thoughts exactly
Nice work! Keep it up
Radiohead, the Smiths, any indie guitar stuff that sneak out of the diatonic would be cool and loved the multi instrumental outro btw
Great, simple explanation.
U r a genius brother. Thanks a lot, 🙏
Sharada Prasad You’re far too kind :)
mild high club would be sick!
Ooh I know that band! I heard this song Countdown by them.... from an album called Sketches of (something) East
@@atharvachoudhary6974 yess, great song! that's a mild high club - king gizzard and the lizard wizard collaboration. I recommend you the album "skiptracing" by them.
so he does the classic, very popular 1 to 4 (C - F). adding a harmonic 7. Nothing too crazy here.
Excellent video, man. So accurate and your jam at the end is 🔥
Much appreciated my man
i am actually stunned at your recreation there that's entirely accurate hahahaha, props man
this is soo beautifulllll
Aww thanks!
Wow! The little song at the ending was great
Glad you liked it! Kev's style probably deserves most of the credit :)
I could hear the vocals even though they werent there
The power of iconic chord progressions!
What a surprise to have Madden on there! She is awesome!
She’s the best
Bro, these videos are REALLY amazing, please do mild high club!
What!!! That was absolutely wavy 👌
🌊🌊🌊
Exceeeeellent video thank you. Didn’t spend too much time on beginner stuff but enough to help beginners. Excellent example at the end. Fantastic to see a flat 3 major 7 working, and the video didn’t take all day to watch. Don’t stop dude, make a million videos.
Heartwarming comment
holy crap! that bit at the end was the best imitation of Tame Impala I've ever heard! Fantastic job!

Thanks! Hopefully someday :)
This is a great video, well put together, to the point, you say what is necessary and aren't milking time. Great visuals as well man. Excellent job! Sick jam at the end too. Loved that bass!
Thank you! I wish it was my jazz bass, but sadly I've had to give it back to the person I borrowed it from since releasing this.
Yonatan Farhi oooof that bass sounds great! Makes me want one. Great playing though man. Looking forward to future vids you do
@@caldarant Just released one on Mac DeMarco, Check it out on my channel!

Great video! Can you do crumb next? I think they have a really interesting progression. Thanks a lot!
That song at the end is pretty fire my dudes.
Lmao your guitar alert just gained a sub, that was hilarious and appreciated
are my fingers supposed to be capable of spreading that far apart?? I cannot do that
fantastic vid! You deserve more subs!
Thanks! As long as anyone learns something from this, I'm happy :)
@@tonton_bkg I certainly did! Keep on keeping on :))
Definitely need to hear some MGMT chord breakdowns
אלוף אתה🙂
otraitel :)
that was cool! Im a big fan of major 7s and it was super interesting to learn about flattening the 3 and 7 second chord to make it maj7. He does that 1 4 switch as well in the song expectation. rapidly going between Cmaj7 and Fmaj7. Also a less known track that uses major 7 brilliantly is Lansing by Vinyl Williams. please check it out!
Expectation is such a great example! Such a gem...
reading this was like reading chinese
RicmuBeats the numbers were using like 1 and 4 are referring to the Nashville number system! So if you’re in a key of C, your 1 chord is c major. The 4 chord is also major. So the video is explaining how if you drop the normal notes for the 3 and 7 chord, you can play all major 7 chords. It helps to know the Nashville stuff.
@@findtheothers thanks!
Thanks bro, Lansing from William Vinyl is sooo goood, thanks. Generally i'm really picky with songs, but this one really got me.
Ah yes, A fellow wizard. KP would love that jam at the end.
I think if someone told me that he saw it I would faint.
Bro you don't know how much you helped me with this! Really gonna help me in my LoFi tracks
very good video!
Thanks!
Flat six maj7 chords going to the fifth dominant7 in a major context is also a nice trick ;)
Totallyyyy
