Lol 7.5 was much more accurate and still generous. A 6.5 or 7.0 is more appropriate IMO. We have people like Dan at 10. Derek 10. Taylor’s game is a fair bit better Kaycee game but worse at comps. Taylor had a lot of very cringey moments in DR and in the game. Her hoh, the headphone incident, both super cringey.
her strategic game isn't good enough to justify her being better than Nicole Franzel who was actually playing actively and strategically. I think her fans influenced you severely.
I don’t use this lightly but actually she sounds bitter and insecure over Taylor’s looks. Because comparing her to an evil witch? I’d bet if she was an attractive non black woman she wouldn’t have been trying to villainize her so unjustifiably so early on.
@@kaisetic3150she doesn’t seem like the type of person to feel bad . Not like she just literally started on people for no reason dragging people down with her
You can see Taylor's pageant side come out during her goodbye messages and her speech at the finale. This is not a criticism btw. As a pageant girl it makes sense that she's had training in eloquence since they have to answer questions during pageants to appeal to a jury. She didn't overlook that side of the competition and used her skills very well !
i came to these comments to say just that. her speech brought me and my sister to tears when we watched it. she felt so genuine and it felt like a history was made when she won. as a black woman, it felt like she stood up for all black women and said “we will not back down”, shit had me sobbing. and the way she spoke, you could tell it was her pageant side but i didn’t care, she gave her all to this game and was so deserving of that win
I feel like it helped her the whole game, they all pre-judged her bc she was a pageant queen, thinking it meant that she had negative traits, but they judged her for the wrong reasons. It meant that she had incredible people skills, I don’t know anyone who could win a competition when they had all the cards stacked against them the whole time.
Man I feel like I am the only person in a sea of comments totally disagreeing with everybody else. Now I don't watch Big Brother so I only have this video to go on but to me everything makes sense. Paloma was trying a Queen Bee strategy so she needed a victim to show her power. She chose to ostracize the girl who wins in pagentry as she would become a threat eventually. Easy choice for week 1. Even funnier is that she was completely correct in hindsight as Taylor did win. Same with Daniel, he was trying to set himself up a the leader of a group while also being a good guy whogoes to bat for his friends and so wouldn't get voted out. For that he needed a bad guy and Taylor was once again an easy target. She just played it smarter than him. Proving that she is actually a big threat.
Exactly I was so infuriated watching this season but also it's one of my all-time favorites due to Taylor's perseverance and her amazing comeback and her graciousness to the other house guests really touched me!
@@shadowcloud1994I pretty much agree with everything you said my problem was Daniel went in way too hard on Taylor, and nobody initially stood up for her it was really nasty to watch
@@shadowcloud1994 Very interesting that you didn’t watch the show to even see the context but you’re insistent on this. Regardless, Paloma could’ve depicted Taylor in ANNYYYY other way besides that Taylor is “aggressive” and only there to please men. These are literally two common stereotypes with darkskin black women. Why did she choose these two stereotypes to turn people against Taylor? Even if you commend Paloma for strategy, unconscious social prejudices was definitely at play here. There’s no reason trying to pretend it wasn’t, even if you acknowledge that Paloma was playing the game like anyone else.
The one thing that still puzzles me from this season is the reaction everyone had toward Paloma leaving. All these people were bawling for someone they had known for a week?
Crazy how they wanted her to be a “girl’s girl” but a true girl’s girl would not judge a girl for hanging out with guys. A girl’s girl supports other women and does not shame, much less assume a girl is using her looks to woo men…. The girls in the first week were so frustrating
Exactly! Girls support girls, they don’t tear them down for hanging out with a guy. It’s really sad to see them misinterpret her kindness to everyone 😊
@@melaniecolie7349 black women are just so amazing that they(people like that) have to bring black women down to their level just to feel better about themselves. It’s like how men have to tear down a woman to keep her, because on average women are better than men.
it was racism. she wasn't acting in ANY type of way that first week. And to go out and say "ive heard you've been rubbing people the wrong way" I would have LOST IT. she's better than me.
Dude monte was like one of the main reason for the bullying and even used his ethnicity for affirmation, it has more to do with jealousy but racism did fill also fill a role but on a weird way. Like because they're supported by a minority they have now permission to bully Taylor lmao

got so pissed , taylor literally did Nothing but be black and beautiful and paloma was quick to judge her as a ‘guy’s girl’ and stuck-up . it’s really upsetting , especially since paloma herself is a person of colour and has certainly dealt with being judged based on her ethnicity 😭
unfortunately its very much a thing. And sadly these women have to deal with double the prejudice from all 3 facets between race and gender.@@StrandCanvasStudios
the “girl’s girl” alliance is the exact reason why I hate that term, women who use it are never truly a “girl’s girl” in the way that they think they are 😂
You'd think letting ladies be all...well like a lady around dudes would give them a hand. Considering how women today preach about how men act so tough, but are rather stupid, this game literally poses that question for who can win: the toughest or the smartest? Therefore have beautiful female competitors in the game can make men fall off their game, since everyone knows that they aren't thinking with this.....🧠
The important things about having females team up together is that they should use every strength their advantage, whether be their physicality, their intelligence, or even their beauty. Unfortunately, women think that they need more of just one of those three more than another, blinding themselves to realizing how that could be an advantage together. My mom always stated that every time she watches a lot of those shows where females try to team up only for it to go down because of their failure to realize all three.
I feel like we shouldn’t be scared to point out the fact that a lot of the hate taylor faced was 100% colorism/racism. She’s a dark skinned women and they labeled her as “explosive” hmmmmm. Daniel straight up said he could tell “what kind of person she was” as soon as he saw her. It was very clear
Especially since she was so gorgeous & a pageant girl. Labeling her as a “boys girl” or a “pick me” without any justification just seems like typical demonization of a girly girl for no reason. As if people assume she thinks she’s better than other people, when that was absolutely not the case.
A pageant girl in general. And knowing her personality and social abilities. Like Monte I like you but it was closed casket as soon as the top 2 was chosen.
to be fair, taylor did sit on that eviction chair more times than anyone else. he thought they hated her, and likely didn't realise they she was building up her social rep throughout the show
20:17 OMG. Joseph saying "You are not a shield" to Taylor just clicked to me on why he was grinning ear to ear during the jury speech. Taylor mentioning "I am not a shield, I am a sword" brought so much meaning since it was something she heard from Joseph, that's so beautiful.
I remember watching that moment live, and I was already tearing up during her speech and when she said she wasn't a shield, I turned to my partner and just started bawling while telling him "that's what Joe told her 😭😭😭😭" honestly, that speech was one of the most beautiful moments imo, in the game's history.
@Hillsgh see when you claim Taylor was entitled when she never was you show that you have biases against her and that you don’t care about her kindness throughout the season and how well she treated her houseguests despite how badly she was treated in the beginning. Nobody is perfect and you are telling on yourself by trying to use one example of behavior as proof Taylor wasn’t kind despite the many many examples of when she was, and you didn’t even name an actual example here you just twisted/fabricated one 🙄
Honestly, hated the way Paloma, Nicole and Daniel treated Taylor. The 3 of them seemed like they would have been bullies in high school. Really unlikable individuals. IMO.
@@jaar1732 idk what those two other washed up has been (paloma and daniel) do, but nicole is a cop so i would hundred percent belive that she was a mean bully in high school.
That also got me- 😂 but as someone who’s autistic that scene seriously triggered me as well😭 Idc she was autistic or not, the way they handled that situation was ableist as sh*t. I had to literally pause the video for a few minutes to collect myself again and push some old, plentiful, memories back outta my head. I was a mess.
The sheer ego and arrogance (and probably a little sexism) of Monte and Turner in underestimating Taylor in the finale to the point of Monte eliminating Turner thinking he'd be the biggest jury competition and Turner voting for Monte because he thought everyone else was going to is HILARIOUS to me. I am sure they were both absolutely baffled.
@@myt110 girl they were SOBBING, i was so confused 😭 like it's really not that deep enough for you to be sobbing that way, daniel. i genuinely thought something bad had happened to her, but no, she just left the show.

Week 1, we wanted her out just so she could be away from the toxicity and shower her with love. And we stressed. And we were rewarded and SHE SLAYED IT!
She didn’t actively save herself with veto or anything most weeks. Most weeks she wasn’t the target so wasn’t at risk. Much like Victoria wasn’t the target but in the block constantly. It wasn’t like a Frank at risk situation where he had to constantly save himself.
@@MegaJuniorJones but the big difference was Victoria never actively did anything to save herself, she just had people whom saw her as a layup and would never take her out over a bigger threat! Taylor had to make moves that put her in a position and even then she was being underestimated in her case and that really worked to her advantage all season!
the way she broke down when she heard in week 1 that she wasnt making people feel loved was so sad, this is why you dont juge people on 1st impressions
I love how Taylor proves that being kind to people despite them treating you horribly, forgiving those that wrong you, and showing love to others can still win the game. No lying, backstabbing, or hurting others, just kindness.
Truly, with winning miss congeniality and how she never stooped low BUT kept it purely competitive, she really embodies grace and kindness in the face of adversity!
@@klepsz8154 A lot of people point out, and rightly to a degree, that half the season she just got lucky with things lining themselves up for her to survive in the game.
As a black woman who watches Big Brother for certain stints at a time and season after season am a witness to how biased and impartial the audience and house guests are to the black women competing in the show, It was an honor to watch Taylor play with such grace and resilience and something short of a miracle to see the guests of the house band together to stick up for her when it counted. I cried the most sappy tears of joy watching Taylor win the main and AFP votes. She has set the best precedent and I cannot wait to see what she does next! I love a black woman from infinity to infinityy! ✨
Paloma, Daniel, and Nicole's behavior this season was sooo dispicable that it made me stop watching for the rest of the season. It wasn't even remotely enjoyable to watch someone get so relentlessly bullied for absolutely no reason. I went to finish the season after hearing that Taylor had won the season. I'm glad I went back but rewatching the first few weeks was sooo tough. However the rest of the season was a great watch. Can't wait for this year's season in a few weeks.
Taylor is without question the best underdog winner BB history. What she did week after week. Remaining strong when a whole house was against her and as a black woman was beyond. I've never been so excited to have a winner like her in all the years of watching this show.
have you seen that video that's like "dear bartender: you assume I can't drink a margarita, so you don't serve me a margarita, so I don't *drink* a margarita?" do you-do you understand
You see why most female alliances teams fail today now? The best female teams, utilize physicality, intelligence and beauty to their advantage. With women lecturing how most men “think they’re so tough, the fact is that they’re dumb”, having beautiful ladies in your female team would be an advantage. Since these ladies can get close to the men and attract them just enough into getting the men into telling them anything they’d like to hear. Therefore, they could inform the female team about what they know about these guys, and all their “weak spots”.
Taylor's treatment was the typical black woman experience. Were constantly misunderstood and prejudged by people and the second we return that energy were aggressive and threatening. Seeing Taylor have to tip toe around everyone's feelings and not have to hold grudges is something she HAD to do. She had to be the bigger person and the one that takes all the abuse because the second she stands up for herself she's the aggressive one. When Daniel was gaslightiing her and blaming her for that girls departure I felt my blood boil. Because white people do that to us all the time. Her experience is pure racism and colorism. And her class and poise was so impressive. Her dignity was so amazing and you clearly see her pageant skills. Truly a queen!
I love how Taylor never tore down any of her fellow women in the house! In past seasons you could often find at least one of them tearing down others through remarks and negative actions while Taylor followed the golden rule of "do to others how you want to be treated". For her, she did just that through kindness. She inspired so many!
To build on what you tacked on at the end about Taylor leaving gifts for evictees, there's something about Taylor's gift to INDY that I want to shout out specifically: At one point in the game (might have even been that infamous week 1 moment where Paloma suggested Taylor try on and flaunt her dresses and then used that as "proof" of her conceitedness), Taylor noticed that Indy really liked one of the dresses Taylor brought into the house. When Indy was on her way out, Taylor remembered this and gave her *that very dress*, and Indy then *wore it on finale night*! Incredible incredible stuff. EDIT: I forgot to mention Indy didn't even know this happened until she got to the jury house and opened up her luggage!
@@Ethanimale I remember Indy talking about it in one of her eviction interviews, it was either The Secret Alliance or Nerdtainment, or possibly both. She mentioned that Taylor snuck in a dress or two without Indy realizing, and that she was planning to one on finale night.
I understood Taylor telling Nicole that it’s ok to “tap out” to mean that she was not going to be mad if Nicole did poorly (or possibly even threw) the Veto competition. I remember that line coming up right after a bit where Nicole had been asked to throw the comp so there wouldn’t be new nominees and Nicole wasn’t sure if she could do that because she’s a fighter or whatever. I thought Taylor was trying to be compassionate and supportive and telling Nicole, “If the best thing for your game is to tap out of this challenge, I get it. I know it’s a tough thing and the game makes you act different and you might have family stuff going on, so I’m not gonna hold a strategic decision against you.” I had to rewatch the exchange when it aired because I was confused about where Nicole got the idea that Taylor was trying to get her to self evict.
And if Ameerah said the same thing Nicole wouldn’t flip out at her it’s just that she didn’t like Taylor and wanted to make a scene to paint Taylor as a vile person
The problem is that people don’t like being told to “quit” or “give up”, I made the same mistake when I was part of a school organization. A fellow teammate was dealing with a lot of issues where they eventually got a wellness check and so i stupidly told them that if they want to quit or leave the organization, that is sometimes the best option or an okay option to do especially if it means their mental health improved. Of course, the person didn’t like that (which I understand) and so we h communicated in what I truly meant. That to me I thought that quitting was a fine option because I thought it was negatively impacting their health but they told me they didn’t want to do it because their mental health actually improved.
@@bw2678 They're talking about her mistreatment in the house, not in real life, I'm assuming. Regardless of her outside life, the players had so much prejudice and misguided hatred towards her. That is not okay.
Taylor was bullied SO MUCH in the show and constantly put up on the block but each time she survived the night and no one could get rid of her. SHES A FIGHTER. I wanted her to win since really early in the game because she was so sweet and everyone disliked her for no reason. NO REASON AT ALL. Then next thing we know she made it to final 6, then final 3 and then we watched her go to final 2, then BOOM, SHE WON!!!! I'm so happy for her, she definitely deserved it
If you take Taylor out of this season. It would be a completely different season. Every episode, every eviction, every competition outcome was centered around her. The entire show was everyone trying to get her out and when they realized they couldn’t beat her, they joined her.
i understand why taylor was moved by turner backing her… it’s the worst feeling when people make the assumption that you’re an evil person and to have someone defend you must have been so heartwarming
Taylor’s win was a reminder to me of why I love this show so much. Big Brother is not about being a comp beast. It’s about being strategic and making connections that’ll get you to the end. Taylor was able to do that and I’m so proud of her. I’ve been watching since season 1 when I was 11 years old and this is definitely one of my favorite seasons and my absolute favorite winner.
Well researched. Well thought out. Taylor played the entire game with one arm tied behind her back. With her resilience and intelligence, she achieved the most remarkable and epic victory in Big Brother history.
@Hillsgh she stayed week one because of a twist and literally the only jury member who voted for her that wasn't a done deal after their eviction was Terrance. Like these are claims with no proof lol
@Hillsgh oh god seek help, the game was never rigged in her favor and no one was tipped off about any of their bullying toward Taylor, hence why you still had people like Terrence and Monte treating her like shit long after the leftovers was formed! As for the week 1 twist production made that twist before any of this drama happened, and even if they technically could have gone through with the first eviction after Paloma left, she still would have survived the twist for the reasons Ethanimale mentioned! It also needs to be said that production was never really pro Taylor even as she was gaining more and more favor among the fans! When Taylor was being mistreated production did nothing to rectify the issue and even their editing in the first few weeks didn’t paint a good picture regarding just how badly Taylor was being treated! It was only after Nicole and Daniel blew up on her that production even acknowledged the mistreatment and took steps to tell the evictees about how their actions toward Taylor were being perceived in their exit interviews! Stay mad if you want but I suggest you evaluate your biases and delusions before you spew nonsense like that 😂
also at the final 7: not only did taylor convince monte and turner to flip and target some of the girls, but she convinced them to target DIFFERENT girls so that alyssa and britney, who would still protect her, would individually be safe with only 1 guy each after them

people were disgusting that first week. this is the best display of why we need intersectional feminism. taylor just existing as a beautiful dark skin woman made her a seductress who hates women. the jealousy & racial biases worked wonders against her. LOVE TO SEE THE UNDERDOG WIN. not a victim, but a victor, truly. also, her being called aggressive when she didn't come across that way AT ALL was so telling
a lot of the times non-black women are for “girls supporting girls” until one of those girls, especially a black woman, is prettier or smarter than them and suddenly their jealousy and hatred takes over
Beauty pageant girls have bad reputations. I remember during survivor there was a hot contestant who was targeted by a man bc he thought she was going to seduce her way to the end. Unfortunately her talking to the guys just fueled their paranoia.

I will share this video with haters that think she shouldn’t have won. When BB first aired back in 2000, it wasn’t designed for just cute muscular guys that are comp beasts to win. I feel the same! And I hope her winning will lead to another Black woman winning the show someday (whether it be this year’s season or another in the future)
This season meant so much to me. As a poc I’ve seen how poc have been treated on this show. Literally EVERY one of them had their games obliterated due to racism, stereotyping, and microgressions. It wasn’t until S23 when Xavier won that gave me hope. But Taylor’s win completely moved me. Every week she had people hating on her for breathing. She was on the block 6 times and got herself off it at least 5 out of the 6 times. Her social game was something I’ve never seen before. She was the one who convinced Turner and monte to back door Michael. She got close to Indy and jasmine right before they went to jury and that’s how she got their jury votes. Taylor Hale you will always be an icon!
Micro-aggressions happened to everybody on the show if they're white or black or whatever and most of the time the reason they go home is their own actions like Bayleigh, Davonne, etc. Taylor didn't convince Turner to do anything everybody knew Turner didn't have the ego to even be possibly manipulated by a woman, he was going to do whatever Monty did. As for Monty he was always against Michael and was the original person to take him out, he even brought this up in the split house week he'd take him out around final five or six.
@@devondonato4609 micro aggressions do not happen to white players. White players have never had their games sunk for being wrongfully perceived as aggressive due to their race. When Davonne and Bayleigh were evicted in seasons 18 and 20 respectively they did sink their own games but in BB22 they were clearly the victim of microaggressions from several houseguests. The microaggressions Taylor experienced never would have happened if Taylor was white, because this show has had plenty of white mods and the like who never had to deal with anything close to the amount of bullshit Taylor experienced on this show, so stop trying to minimize this harmful behavior my misrepresenting how it happens 🙄
@@JRJuggernaut1 Microaggressions go beyond a persons race and goes hand in hand with an individuals identity so yes white people can face that. It is extremely wrong to say the only micro aggression that ever happens is black players being perceived as aggressive(also sometimes this actually holds true with certain people). Davonne and Bayleigh caused their own downfalls by being the most obvious duo outside of the committee. If they had went through true micro aggressions they would have NOT have lasted as long as they did over NICOLE ANTHONY, Jaysar, Keesha, etc. Taylor probably got the rawest deal out of any black person that ever played big brother yes but she kind of deserved to go home first week anyway with how messy she was playing.

Davonne and Bayleigh did not cause their own downfalls in BB22, Bayleigh was evicted because Christmas is the worst and no one was willing to stand up to her when she made what was a personal and vengeful move that was due to her own biases and intolerance. If you think people like them caused their own downfalls given how lacking the gameplay was from most players, you are delusional plain and simple! 4. Taylor’s only messy gameplay was during her first HOH, she did nothing to deserve going home week 1! Taylor being on the block was mainly the product of other people’s microaggressions toward her, so if you think Taylor committed any true wrongdoings during that first week you are factually wrong, just saying 🤷🏼♂️
Michael himself admitted every houseguest that was evicted on his hohs always benefited taylor’s game more than his bc her social game was that good that he cared about it more than his. The same reasoning was used when he targeted Terrance instead of Monte, another evictee that Taylor benefited the most from leaving the game. I’m pretty sure Michael talks about this in his deep dive with Taran. He gives Taylor’s social game a lot of credit for influencing the decisions he made in the game

The fact that Terrance, Jasmine, and India voted for her says ALOT. Terrance hated that girl. Even implied that Taylor is not a “real black woman” when he told Jasmine she’s not “one of us”. Monty should have had 4 votes on lock. Still probably would’ve lost though. But watching Taylor’s season right after Jackson’s was so satisfying. And great video. There was a lot in here I never knew. I’m that much more impressed.
Extremely well-made video, and it really made me appreciate Taylor as a player even more. If anyone wants to say that Taylor's win wasn't earned fairly, they should be given this video to watch.
Unfortunately many people are dead set on their dislike for Taylor, which is insane but at least the majority of fans know that her win was earned on several levels! I just have to wonder what is it about Taylor that make some people think she is fake and the exact person Paloma claimed her to be, despite the fact that even her bullies minus Paloma and Daniel completely changed their tune about her! It is a special kind of delusional but it is what it is! Not to mention, people are desperate to twist the narrative surrounding Monte and Taylor’s brief showmance, where they claim she hooked up with him to save herself, and that her distancing herself from him on finale night was more proof of that. But those who actually watched the feeds know she ended things with him when she did because she couldn’t handle his misogyny anymore but didn’t want to hurt her position in the game by saying something too soon! Anyone who convinces themselves of all these lies about Taylor needs to evaluate their own personal biases that would make them believe these lies in the face of all the facts disproving those lies!
anyone who thinks a pageant girl doesn't like other women is ridiculous. it is super hard to obtain high titles like Miss Michigan if you cant relate to other women, you're traveling with and hanging out with girls constantly and the bonds get STRONG 💪weirdly, ego tends to fade into the background because everyone is hot and no one is allowed to date, lolll
I cry every time i watch her win. as soon as the cast reveal came out she was my immediate favorite, and i was heartbroken when i thought she was done for. She is such a truly, genuinely good person which is hard to come by, especially in big brother. She deserves every single piece of good karma that could ever come her way.
I still feel so bad for Taylor cause of all the abuse she was put through. Taylor went through all the bull crap and still won. She is a strong woman. While her hohs weren’t the best her social game was great. 9 people on the jury, she convinced 8 to give her the win over monte who played a better game comp wise which is great. She also managed to get all of America to vote for her as favorite player as well.
The way these people treated her in the first few weeks is disgusting. They saw a beautiful, smart woman and decided on the spot that she would be the universal scapegoat.
"Regardless of how wonky it all played out, Taylor once again SURVIVED." This is such a good summary of this whole entire season. I, for one, am not a fan of squeaky clean games, as usually players with the highest capabilities for strategic and competitive prowess often have those abilities bc their privileged identities. I appreciate how you point out Monte had far fewer obstacles to overcome, bc I think that highlights how two different individuals can work equally as hard in the game but have vastly different resumes. I think bc Monte's resume is closer to what we see from a "traditional" BB winner, he seems to be more successful. What that misses is how for a player like Taylor, survival IS success. I said from the beginning of BB24 that it reminded me a lot of BBCAN, and I think that has do with how much fight is in most of the players, especially Taylor. There is less of a focus on being the "perfect" player and more on fighting for survival, which makes for a more engaging story tbh. The reason this season was so crazy to watch was not because it was a perfect fairytale, but because regardless of how wonky it played out, Taylor survived. Anyway, I'm sure you're tired of hearing this, but a wonderful video as always. I did not even flinch at the length bc (as you alluded to) there will never be enough time in the world to explain why Taylor's win is so gratifying to fans. It's an experience that goes far beyond the confines of this season. Instead, it's rooted in the long-standing history of the show's social structure and how impactful it feels to see somebody, finally, start to break them down. Thanks for all you do!!!
It's incredibly impressive how forgiving and patient Taylor managed to be with everyone in the house, despite how the majority, at some point or other, treated her badly. Props to her, I could never do that!
I found taylors win incredibly satisfying. She was my favorite since the cast photos and the beginning of the season was so tough to watch. With her being so resilient and smart with her strategy, she really put herself in such a great position to win. I’m so proud of her and seeing her overcome, and win, after so much bullying and so many micro aggressions was the cherry on top for me.
I am SO happy that you highlighted the fact that Taylor used her social connections to strategic purposes because you can be good strategically, like monte admittedly was (especially in the endgame), but if you are not strengthening those social connections you won't win the vote. Monte didn't have bad jury management like Turner, but he failed to truly connect with the jury. I watched the feeds religiously and unlike Taylor, Monte walked in the house having so many people wanting to work with him and he proceeded to let relationships that he had from the beginning go. Perfect example is Indy. Monte had Indy in his corner from the beginning but lost her when he nominated her during his first hoh and made ZERO effort to bring her back in to his side. Taylor on the other hand, using Indy as an example again, used her social connection with Joseph (who was very close with Indy) to get closer to Indy so that even though Indy knows she's going home on Taylor's hoh, she's sitting in her room talking to the cameras saying that she actually really likes Taylor now (and wants Taylor to be with Joseph which if you watched feeds you know was NOT the case before). Her connection with Michael is directly what kept herself and people she needed in the game safe. Michael could've targeted Monte during Brochella week, it would've been better for him to, but he didn't because he was worried it would cause him to lose Taylor. Michael could've and SHOULD have targeted Monte again in his third hoh but kept the target to Terrance, partly because of Terrance trying to flip the vote against Taylor the last week. And this is something Michael admitted in the jury roundtable and post-season interviews, as well as Joseph saying he made moves specifically to make Taylor happy. Taylor's strong social bonds IS what pushed her strategy so to people saying she did nothing or was carried, they're just incredibly wrong. At the end of the day being a strategic mastermind isn't solely what wins the game. And Monte wasn't even a strategic mastermind, he had several missteps such as sitting out for 3 straight weeks despite knowing he had become the main target of the other side of the house (you could argue during this time the only thing keeping Monte safe was the Leftovers so who was really carried?). Meanwhile when Taylor was the main target of the house she continued, as you demonstrated during week 2, to work on the people who wanted her out. Part of the reason the target during final 8 switched to Monte (if Michael wins the veto) is because both Kyle and Alyssa felt better about Taylor. That's because of the work she put in with them, especially Alyssa. Alyssa left one conversation with Taylor telling Kyle she'd rather Monte go over Taylor and Kyle completely agreed. Monte didn't do that work. Similar to Indy, after Monte's first hoh Alyssa never fully trusted him again and he never really tried to recover that. Taylor's work on Turner as well during the mid-game, was some of the best I had seen this season. She managed to flip him in one conversation, a conversation where she fully told him if she won HOH he'd probably go on the block. He left that conversation wanting a final 3 with her. Mind you, Turner had been saying Taylor needed to be the first of the Leftovers to go since week 6. And after one conversation with Taylor, he wanted her in his endgame plans. It is this that directly kept her safe during the double where he decided to use his bestfriend in the house Alyssa as a pawn instead of Taylor. Watching her maneuver those conversations and make these crucial bonds that would convince people to keep her safe and take out HER targets on feeds was miraculous, it's when I knew she was going to win the game because THAT is how you use your social ability to strengthen your strategy. It's not mentioned enough how the pre-jury was basically curated by Taylor. She said on the feeds early on exactly who she wanted to be in the pre-jury and that is EXACTLY what happened. She knew who's votes she could never secure and who would be smart to have in her jury. She even recognized Joseph would be good to have in jury for her (even though she definitely wanted him in the game much longer). THAT is how you win Big Brother. To survive the block 6 times is incredibly impressive as even the best Big Brother players succumb to the pressure of sitting on the block. Taylor never did. Also the fact that she was able to manage her threat level so well needs to be acknowledged too. Most players who hit the block as often as Taylor did are just pawn stars, goats to drag to the end and beat. Not only was Taylor not a pawn star, but people in the house KNEW and ACKNOWLEDGED often that she was a genuine jury threat. Michael said it to the cameras as early as week 5. Alyssa said it constantly in her pitch to stay. Joseph said it when he was campaigning for Pooch to stay. And yet all of these people still wanted her in their endgame. Michael said to the cameras that he didn't care that Taylor was a jury threat he still wanted her in his final 3. Turner recognized Taylor's jury potential and STILL voted out Alyssa. Joseph was going to take Taylor to the end if he could. And Monte remained convinced Turner was harder to beat. That's because of how well Taylor managed her own threat level. To be both a huge threat that's respected by the jury yet underestimated in the house at the same time is a hard thing to balance but Taylor did that. Her refusal to nominate Jasmine and the excellent work she put in with her during Brochella won her Jasmine's respect and had Jasmine saying IN THE HOUSE that her biggest regret was not standing up for Taylor. Taylor was obviously going to get Joseph's vote because of her connection with him, and given the social influence Joseph had in that house that was HUGE to have him rooting for her in the jury. Monte somehow assumed he'd have Joseph which once again shows how much he misread how the jury viewed Taylor. The kindness she showed Kyle (which she was not obligated to) made him respect her even more. Monte practically told Terrance in his goodbye message that Taylor made him send Terrance home which made Terrance feel like Taylor was running Monte's game, leading Terrance to say in exit interviews that he thought Monte was playing the worst game. Taylor's connection the ENTIRE game with Michael ofcourse would give her his vote. Taylor had an excellent goodbye message to Alyssa that secured that vote. Taylor, similar to Michael, would always have Brittany's vote -- but she also showed Brittany so much grace despite Brittany turning on her the week before. Monte also belittled and berated Brittany for an hour straight (on the feeds not the episode), directly telling her he would never work with her in the game again, so ofcourse he would never get her vote (mind you if Brittany had won the f4 veto which she came very close to winning it is the terrible way Monte handled her that would've directly been the reason she evicts him because before that she certainly would've kept him over Turner). The edited episodes in general never showed just how misogynistic Monte could be or how he berated Taylor as well, it was his negative perception of her that cost him the win. But that's a whole different rant to get into. And then Turner has admitted in post interviews he only voted for Monte because he assumed everyone else was (and that's only because of how much weight he put on comp wins). Taylor had some of the best jury management I've ever seen and that is without her final 2 performance in which she complimented each jury member who asked her a question, she included references in her speech to things people in the jury said to her (the shied/sword comment was something Jospeh told her in the game). She already had the jury on lock before the final 2 but would've won anyone over with that speech. I can go on and on about Taylor's game and why she deserved the win but this video was perfect!
Monte’s ego treated BB like a dating show where he would act sanctimonious about women not being his preferred type then degrade them for it followed by shutting them out IN A SOCIAL GAME. No working on the relationship and only speaking when essentially forced to due to amount of HGs or et cetera. People complain on his behalf about the very jury he didn’t tend to. Turner would burn bridges while Monte wouldn’t give the connection oxygen refusing to breathe life into it hence him being second out of F3. He had weak reads on people and situations for someone SO self-righteous. Also his work with Pal0ma was why Taylor had her hands tied week 1 with him campaigning for Taylor to be blindsided (+ encouraged HG to trash her in goodbye messages) and ostracized for “lying” (when it was Monte himself that spoke an untruth) just to not care about lying when it was discovered to be Pal0ma not Taylor spinning the house. Due to the self evictee being his sexual preference. Turner being a follower led to him being the only male alliance member to not straight shoot in Monte’s face about Taylor having not done a damn thing to anybody. Michael, Joseph, and Kyle at some point after the rallying spoke/acted for Taylor’s name. LiveFeeds showing Monte’s face when he found out he was not as brilliant, reasonable, nor logical as he thinks when Kyle said no, Taylor did *no* such thing it was the girls girl’s being a clique with a target. Monte himself _attempting to sully Taylor’s progress_ said Taylor didn’t let him vote a certain way thus accrediting her game. That mud sling explanation had the opposite effect gaining Taylor a jury vote but Monte can not reflect on himself only others. That meant it was a win for the social game by a social gamer not a grand standing bull in a china shoppe. Jasmine whom wasn’t in his alliance spoke on how Monte would demand so much from people if he spoke to you while giving nothing in return. He’d demand [female] HG to not have walls while keeping his brick wall up. Something he is not skilled on whether it is charisma or grace like (Taylor, Joseph or) Michael with collecting information while not revealing all cards being held during a fuller house. The complacent Monte couldn’t even sit and listen instead choosing to reprimand HGs like a self-appointed master chief. _e.g. F5 Brittany in the HoH room_ While Taylor would sit back allowing people to hang themselves not adding to the misconception when the smallest things made Taylor public enemy number one due to residual hive mind. Instead she chose to say nothing in those moments while HGs became the mark. Instead planting seeds with moves growing then executed in her interest
You are right. Strategy alone doesn’t win. It is a combination of strategy social and competitions. A mix of any can win. Taylor had low competitions, low/medium strategy, but high social. That’s not how she won, in my opinion, it’s just what her attributes were. She won like many BB do by 80% luck and chance.
@@devondonato4609 Yes and the video acknowledges that. He probably was always going to do what Monte said. But Turner was still pushing back on Monte and suggesting they take Alyssa instead until after Taylor’s conversation with him. That sold him.
I think one overlooked bonus to Taylor's game is that Turner said he was going to vote for Taylor, but changed his vote to "vote with the house" (which he mistakenly thought was pro Monte) in the finale. So it should have been unanimous if Turner understood that there is no "house" in the final vote.
tell me why i don't even watch big brother but this video literally made me cry. it's god awful to be bullied from the get go for no good reason. for Taylor to say she couldn't wait to be friends after the show and still have the grace to call someone who bullied her and talked mad smack behind her back "amazing," takes... a person of great character.
Unfortunately I stopped watching this season before the first eviction, after how they unfairly treated Taylor. I didn’t want anything to do with this season. I today see I made a mistake. I’m so happy she survived and won.
As a person who watched the live feeds and the live show, it was still so confusing on how in the world Taylor ended up in a final 2 chair. This video clarified her journey for me. Did not realize the amount of work she put in off camera that nobody got to see.
Honestly a big reason is she fooled around with monte. Super trashy move considering she had Joseph feelings too. If that didn’t happen then monte takes Joseph to the end. Monte wasn’t the brightest either.
@@MegaJuniorJones one enough of this lie, her hookup with Monte was NEVER about game, it was due to a combination of being in the house for so long, along with Taylor being gaslit into thinking Joseph never cared about her. If the after party never made up lies about Joseph, something that could only happen due to the split house twist, then Taylor never would have given Monte the time of day romantically speaking, and she ended things after the show not because she was playing him but because she was over his misogynistic behaviors that were only shown on the feeds! Yes, Taylor did convince Monte that he could easily beat her in a final 2 situation, but she didn’t use their showmance to do that, she simply played to his ego and confidence that his comp wins and strategic game would be enough to seal him the win! Let’s stop pretending like Taylor did anything morally wrongful!
@@MegaJuniorJones also, she had a crush on Monte when she got in the house. They would have definitely had a shomance if the game didn’t start the way it started. Let’s not act like her attraction for Monte came out of nowhere as some ploy to win the game. She was literally crying in the tub when he said he wanted space. Do y’all even watch the show?
@@JBSCORNERL8 that but also had she known about the misogynistic remarks Monte had said about her behind her back she never would have even bothered with him in any romantic capacity!
Thank you for making this. I’m so tired of people discrediting her game by saying “oh she just won because of her speech at the end”. She slayed and fought her way through the whole time.
The "I am not the shield, I am the sword." Line shakes me to my core in the best way possible. It truly gives me chills the way she says it. And damn right she's the sword!
I think that it's really important to note that speaking is one of the biggest things that pageant queens have as a skill. Charisma is incredibly important in pageantry. Idk why no one seems to bring that up.
Loved this recap! I will say, it still hurts to rewatch the clips of Taylor being mistreated, I had to skip a lot of them. One piece of Taylor’s gameplay that I thought was really interesting that you didn’t touch on exactly was her “fauxmance” with Joseph. Joseph & Taylor made the conscious decision for her to talk about her crush on him with the other girls & that actually ended up building a lot of trust between the girls and Taylor. I had previously seen showmances paint a target on players’ backs, so the fact that this strategy actually worked out for her was really cool to watch. I think it kind of weirdly humanized her in their eyes as they had previously seen her as a heartless villain.
@@hailey1722 My memory is hazy but I remember watching it live and the message boards on reddit were watching it like Joseph wanted to make the girls jealous intentionally. But it worked out the other way since the girls were looking for allies and now they know Taylor is connected to Joseph who was somebody they're trying to align with
Taylor doesn't get anywhere near the credit she deserves, mostly because of the editing of the show. BB has never been great at showing players' social strategies, but the work Taylor put in to convince Monte to target Michael or to convince Monte that it would be dangerous to bring Turner to the final 2 because the jury would vote for him was crucial to her getting to finale night. She also is great at something that is key to winning but many forget about: jury management. It's frustrating that her type of game style -- one that doesn't revolve around winning competitions -- is misunderstood/not respected by much of the audience. I've seen viewers dismiss her second HOH win, saying that BB rigged it for Taylor because it was a 'fashion' competition, but it really wasn't, it was a competition about paying attention to details and memory and could have been on any topic. On top of that, I've seen people say that Taylor 'slept her way to the top,' which not only undermines all the work she did, but is completely unfair and unfounded. She and Monte didn't get together until the game was nearly over, meaning she had to scrape to survive for *weeks* before that. Also, plenty of male winners have been in showmances (Miche, Boogie, Will): why is that an accusation for a female winner but not for male winners?
Funny how they used her being a beauty queen against her in the first week, but its obvious that the skills she got from her background basically secured her the win.
@@bigbrotherfan3396 baby that's the point of big brother you choose people you believe you can beat in the end. Taylor won because of identity politics and because she "endured" all those people bullying her. She literally didn't make any game moves
First off, welcome back. It feels amazing to be a Taylor fan. Taylor's karma and her social game are S tier!! Her winning the game and AFP makes her America's favorite winner!! Best season finale of bb, ever!! And I am happy to say that Taylor is my favorite bb winner!! 😊😊
Taylor didn't need to have that harsh journey. Everything was just unfair for her. The first few weeks when she done nothing to others but still getting targeted. People were solely hating her just for existing, and twisting her words to make her a villain. She's not the best player but she really deserves the win. ❤ This is a really great video~
Taylor's rise to the top is one of the best in BB history, period! I cried at the way they treated her, but she survived it and thrived!! WE LOVE HER!!
Haven’t watched it, but I know you’ve been working on this for months now, and for that I thank you for your hard work. I really love watching your videos (especially the winner analysis), I appreciate everything you do for your loyal viewers. Now I can finally write my 6 page charity speech for my AP Lang class while listening to this video like a podcast.
She got put up on the block SIX TIMES and every time she came down off the block and got into a better STRATEGIC position than she was in the week before! She formed GENUINE personal relationships with a third of the house and got brought into the dominant Leftovers alliance! And, finally she became the WINNER of BB24 by simply being her authentic self and showing the other houseguests who exactly that person is by treating EVERYONE with love, kindness and grace, being not a shield but a sword, and not a victim but a VICTOR!! Also, that finale performance was 🔥🔥 That is just so remarkable and we will likely not see anything like it ever again!! 🥳🙌
What I love about Taylor is she's actually really underrated in her social game. Its thanks to her work on Monte and Turner she turned the target to Michael. She also has enough social capital to turn the targets on her to others instead. She also has one of the hands down best jury management of BB players ever and its what means the difference between getting 500k or 50k
Seriously. Did these people think it would help them to bully a woman on national television?! When it’s clear that the camera people would absolutely use their shit as drama fuel and point out what they were doing?
It’s like a metaphor on how you’re climbing to the top of a mountain, you NEARLY fell off into the shark infested waters of eviction, but someone else already fell in there, a helicopter (the backstage twist) picked you up and now you’re safe Such an epic season! Just as great as season 20
The more I think about it, the more I slowly begin to think that the episode of the Leftovers forming is truly one of the best episodes of Big Brother, ever.
Haven't finished the video but I will say based on what the jury has said, the only two people who had a fighting chance against Taylor in F2 were Joseph and Michael. Allowing Michael to win out would be an almost guaranteed losing scenario for Taylor unless Brittany was taken out along the way (which would be less likely since Michael would protect Brittany over her). Managing to get the one person who was tough competition in F2 out of the game AND managing to convince some of the players that were still there to take her further is very impressive gameplay no matter how you slice it. (Edited for clarity and spelling)
This was the best underdog win and the best win the show has had. She’s smart, beautiful, and strong. A true, gracious, and kind winner. She made that season great and I was a fan from day one.
you have no idea how many times I went back to this video to watch it.... its like of those "feels good" videos that you play and listen to while working. The story of Taylor Hale' ending in BB24 is barely a fantasy that underdogs from previous seasons could only wish for
taylor winning every competition she did and surviving when she did and getting to the f2 and then winning when it was completely unpredictable every time she did.. was amazing. watching her crying alone in the bathroom week one to surviving week one, getting into the leftovers, getting to jury, getting to live on past joseph going home, flipping monte away from turner and winning 8-1... wild.
@@devondonato4609 Its still wild to see! Even if her HoHs were admittedly bad times to get them for her game lol its nice to feel relaxed that she's safe
just looking at her face during the attack broke my heart. especially when she was told that she was “passive aggressive”, i know that hurt her. im glad karma was on her side throughout this season.
After lots of reconsideration (and a little nudge from a specific viewer) I have decided to change Taylor’s score to a clean 8.
No further questions 🙂
Casually doesn't mention that specific viewer being Taylor herself
Lol 7.5 was much more accurate and still generous. A 6.5 or 7.0 is more appropriate IMO.
We have people like Dan at 10. Derek 10.
Taylor’s game is a fair bit better Kaycee game but worse at comps.
Taylor had a lot of very cringey moments in DR and in the game. Her hoh, the headphone incident, both super cringey.
If she didn't hook up with monte, wouldve been a 9.
Taylor’s social game skills worked on you too, she got you to change her score to an 8! She’s that good 😂
her strategic game isn't good enough to justify her being better than Nicole Franzel who was actually playing actively and strategically. I think her fans influenced you severely.
Paloma tried to force the jezebel stereotype on Taylor
I wonder if that's why she left? Like she felt bad because she knew that her strategy hinged on misogyny

It meant that she had incredible people skills, I don’t know anyone who could win a competition when they had all the cards stacked against them the whole time.
that speech brought me to tears oh my gosh
The real irony is right at the start they block Taylor out bc they view her as a typical bully, when in reality the whole house was bullying her
Exactly, people like that are the worst. They didn't seem to even do it for strategy, they did it because of their own ego

You see why most female alliances teams fail today now? The best female teams, utilize physicality, intelligence and beauty to their advantage. With women lecturing how most men “think they’re so tough, the fact is that they’re dumb”, having beautiful ladies in your female team would be an advantage. Since these ladies can get close to the men and attract them just enough into getting the men into telling them anything they’d like to hear.

To build on what you tacked on at the end about Taylor leaving gifts for evictees, there's something about Taylor's gift to INDY that I want to shout out specifically:
At one point in the game (might have even been that infamous week 1 moment where Paloma suggested Taylor try on and flaunt her dresses and then used that as "proof" of her conceitedness), Taylor noticed that Indy really liked one of the dresses Taylor brought into the house. When Indy was on her way out, Taylor remembered this and gave her *that very dress*, and Indy then *wore it on finale night*! Incredible incredible stuff.
EDIT: I forgot to mention Indy didn't even know this happened until she got to the jury house and opened up her luggage!

I heard Nicole and Ameerah have apologized to Taylor but I don’t know if they really did or if they meant it

@Hillsgh exactly and well said
@Hillsgh oh god seek help, the game was never rigged in her favor and no one was tipped off about any of their bullying toward Taylor, hence why you still had people like Terrence and Monte treating her like shit long after the leftovers was formed!

The only misstep she made was telling Monte what Paloma said about targeting the guys, but Paloma only got mad because she was desperately looking for an excuse to target Taylor, and she wound up accusing Taylor of lying despite knowing that she did talk about targeting the guys in front of her!
Give it to Terrance and Daniel
anyone who thinks a pageant girl doesn't like other women is ridiculous. it is super hard to obtain high titles like Miss Michigan if you cant relate to other women, you're traveling with and hanging out with girls constantly and the bonds get STRONG 💪weirdly, ego tends to fade into the background because everyone is hot and no one is allowed to date, lolll
They saw a beautiful smart black woman and immediately pushed a jezebel stereotype onto her
She’s a natural leader and a born winner. So happy for her
"Regardless of how wonky it all played out, Taylor once again SURVIVED." This is such a good summary of this whole entire season.
Always appreciate your wonderful insight Vera!
What Is BBCAN
Big brother Canada 🇨🇦
It's incredibly impressive how forgiving and patient Taylor managed to be with everyone in the house, despite how the majority, at some point or other, treated her badly. Props to her, I could never do that!
I found taylors win incredibly satisfying. She was my favorite since the cast photos and the beginning of the season was so tough to watch. With her being so resilient and smart with her strategy, she really put herself in such a great position to win. I’m so proud of her and seeing her overcome, and win, after so much bullying and so many micro aggressions was the cherry on top for me.
in a shocking turn of events, being nice wins the game. What a wonderful woman. She fully deserved the win
Taylor got screwed over week 1 by Paloma who was so insane she had to quit. She had a psychotic episode and tried to bring Taylor down with her. 😂
This is so true 😂
Turner didn't want Taylor in the endgame because of her conversation with him. He was just a huge follower and goat to Monte
Perfectly said!!
@@MegaJuniorJones but it was ok for Alyssa to cheat on her "Person" with kyle lol
That is totally something I could have touched upon that I left out, thank you for commenting!
I feel like looking back on it, Taylor created the fauxmance idea but I think Joseph wanted to use it against her
@@devondonato4609 I definitely remember it being her idea! Why do you say he wanted to use it against her?
@@hailey1722 My memory is hazy but I remember watching it live and the message boards on reddit were watching it like Joseph wanted to make the girls jealous intentionally. But it worked out the other way since the girls were looking for allies and now they know Taylor is connected to Joseph who was somebody they're trying to align with
Wow this is the first time I’ve heard a “fauxmance” strategy, interesting.
Let’s be real here , palima or however u say her name was a bully she literally created a hate train on Taylor without even knowing who Taylor is..
Cause she was a woman and black. Also, they are misogynist as fuck.
Funny how they used her being a beauty queen against her in the first week, but its obvious that the skills she got from her background basically secured her the win.
Hands down one of the most deserving winners of BB, and her America's Favorite Houseguest title further proves this
not over monte dude
@@bigbrotherfan3396 baby that's the point of big brother you choose people you believe you can beat in the end. Taylor won because of identity politics and because she "endured" all those people bullying her. She literally didn't make any game moves
@@bigbrotherfan3396 she isn't the first person to be bullied on BB so her story is unique. I watched the video and I'm here to tell you it's bs sorry.
@@bigbrotherfan3396 some things are black and white but others will see something else.. love this video and will definitely rewatch.
@@rihannasedges6112 totes agree 👌
I dont normally care about tv personalities, but i hope michael and taylor are friends outside of the show lol
I hear they are, most of the leftovers follow each other on social media
Also, that finale performance was 🔥🔥
That is just so remarkable and we will likely not see anything like it ever again!!
When it’s clear that the camera people would absolutely use their shit as drama fuel and point out what they were doing?
i think cuz it was isolated and all of them had this mentality, it was easy to forget the reality and objective
It’s like a metaphor on how you’re climbing to the top of a mountain, you NEARLY fell off into the shark infested waters of eviction, but someone else already fell in there, a helicopter (the backstage twist) picked you up and now you’re safe
Such an epic season! Just as great as season 20
The more I think about it, the more I slowly begin to think that the episode of the Leftovers forming is truly one of the best episodes of Big Brother, ever.
SOOO TRUE
Agreed! I would bring them all back!
(if Brittany goes in DE instead of Alyssa she still has a good shot of winning, but Michael is a very tough opponent in F2 in comparison)
The story of Taylor Hale' ending in BB24 is barely a fantasy that underdogs from previous seasons could only wish for
taylor winning every competition she did and surviving when she did and getting to the f2 and then winning when it was completely unpredictable every time she did.. was amazing. watching her crying alone in the bathroom week one to surviving week one, getting into the leftovers, getting to jury, getting to live on past joseph going home, flipping monte away from turner and winning 8-1... wild.
Taylor didn’t even win that many comps, I’m pretty sure before final four she won the least amount of comps for any winner outside dr will
@@devondonato4609 Its still wild to see! Even if her HoHs were admittedly bad times to get them for her game lol its nice to feel relaxed that she's safe
Taylor is a show about how karma really works. There was no point in bullying her.
the “girl’s girls” alliance immediately targeting a girl is INCREDIBLY ironic.
Paloma was clearly jealous
just looking at her face during the attack broke my heart. especially when she was told that she was “passive aggressive”, i know that hurt her. im glad karma was on her side throughout this season.
