Regarding the Lend Lease Act: While the Soviets did not have to repay most of the 'lease', the story with the British was very different. The lease deal with the U.S.A. required the Brits to repay the entire amount using Gold Bullion, not ordinary currency. This reduced the amount of gold the British government had in its vaults & inevitably negatively affected the value of the British Pound & their economic rating. FYI, the British finally completed its payments to the U.S.A. in the mid-1990s, which shows just how substantial their debt to the U.S.A. was. Apparently, many of the serious economic challenges suffered by the Brits during the post-war period, especially in the 1970s & 1980s were, in-part, triggered by Great Britain's need to make payments to the U.S.A. (..BTW & FWIW, some people have even suggested that the U.S.A.'s policy was, to some degree, motivated by a desire to ensure that Great Britain would no longer have the financial resources to remain a world power capable of competing with the U.S.A.'s newfound economic & military dominance in the post-war period & beyond..)

Hi just a little correction at 14:25 the 2% on military spending USED to be a guide line. they changed that recently to be a minimum requirement. Stoltenberg is telling NATO countries to ignore the requirement to keep weapons in stock for certain capabilities, its Not so much about the "adhere to 2% spending" situation. as there is a dire need/emergency situation so to speak. it has nothing to do with the 2% spending in itself. The Netherlands for instance is keeping a patriot battery at the port of Rotterdam as its the main transport hub for the EU. they are now open to sending some off the missiles or even the battery to Ukraine. This would diminish defence capability in the Netherlands which can be dangerous as Russia consistently flies bombing planes near the North Sea. In the US the House of Representatives (Lower house) has a bill, the Senate (upper house) have a bill. Each, independent of the other submit amendments to the respective bills. If the bills with amendments pass, they House and Senate need to sit down, compromise and agree on one bill to send both to the House and Senate. The final stumbling block after all the back and forth, would be if the Ukraine package is voted on after the Israel package. The Israel financial deal would be passed and there would be a loss of leverage for the Ukraine one. If the Ukraine one is put to the vote first and doesn't go through, then the Democrats could decline supporting the Israel deal. It is absolutely the final twist the Republicans could pull. The first round of votes on the four packages must have Ukraine's decision before Israel's...
Thank you, Georgijs, I will only believe it when it passes, which currently is rather unlikely. And we should not confuse loan with lend-lease. The former is to be paid back (like the UK did until 2006) while lend-lease is returning the stuff that was not obliterated after the war (that's why until today, hidden WWII airplanes or tanks are discovered). To be fair, the draft bill would allow the President to forgive loans (if I read it correctly). 🇺🇦 Перемоги і миру всім українцям! 🇺🇦
Don't get your hopes up yet. Splitting these bills is just a delay tactic. It's a way to lengthen the process. It means that each bill will have to go through the entire approval process.

The Motion on the proposed Rule just passed. It’s going to a vote in the House. Americans : PLEASE call and keep calling your Representatives and all representatives. Keep calling. The vote is likely on Saturday night. Tell all friends and family to call and keep calling
Thank you very much for the analysis and the work you did to understand this bill.
GREAT VIDEO JOZZI, GREAT NEWS FOR UKRAINE of THE U.S. AID/PACKAGE, YES I WILL SUPPORT "REPORTING FROM UKRAINE" & OF COURSE "UKRAINE MATTERS.
Fully and completely agree with you! 👍👍👍
You should hear Moskowitz more often, the guy is smart, witty and hilarious. He is one of the good guys and he seems very smart.
I really appreciate Moscowitz- I enjoy his spunk and common sense - a no BS guy
Be cautious, it will go to Senate and if filibuster is initiated to end filibuster takes 60 votes
thanks Georgie
Its not passed and signed yet
That, of course, is true.
It is impossible to trust Moscow Mike and his immediate boss Trump.
I wish I was in Johnson's district so I could vote him out. There are reps here in AZ that have been vocal against supporting Ukraine so I'm voting against them. Come on, November! 🇺🇲🇺🇦
I'm in New Orleans, I'll do it but unfortunately Louisiana is full of people who support him. Not here but the rest of the state
There's Ukraine flags in the French quarter

Thank you for all you do Georgie
Finally the GOP acts!
Despicable that more than 100 Republicans gave a thumbs down.
Moscowitz is a Democratic party rock star in the House. He's had some absolutely epic take downs of MAGAts in recent hearings.
Thank you Georgjis, always great stream & all you & Community do for Ukraine... incredible!!!
Namaste 🙏
Slava Ukraini, Heroyam Slava... hold tight indomitable brave-heart Ukrainian Warriors on all fronts/levels right up to President Zelenskyy🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🔱💙💛💙🪬
Thank you Georgijs, Slava Ukraini 💙💛🇺🇦🙏❤🇺🇸🌻
What happened for RFU channel is egregious. YT should take this seriously.
Its 2% of gdp spent on your defense budget. Nobody cares if it goes to Ukraine...it is a guideline. A guideline so the defense of Europe doesn't end up being on one country...
Wait and see
Thanks
Great work Georgie. Keep up the good work buddy
This Funding was supposed to start in September last year, so Ukraine will have some spending catching up to do. WooT!
100% support to Ukraine from Sweden 🇸🇪❤️🇺🇦
As an American, I’ll never forgive Micro and his feet dragging that resulted in untold civilian casualties.
We aren't out of the woods yet. There are many ways the bill could be delayed. I'm surprised the bill came up at all.
If the GOP can shake off the cult of Trump, I might have a little more respect for them. It seems like Mike Johnson is standing right on the fault line here.
Not holding my breath on this, I do hope it passes and Johnson can be re-habilitated as being on the right side of history and MAGA disobey their Kremlin masters.
перемога України slava Ukraini! 💙💛🙏
Right on the money throughout the whole piece, today. Thanks so much & great job. Love you back.
It is crazy whats going on...
Let's not forget about Warthog defense very good channel that isn't worried about advertising so you get a lot more info and videos not blurred out but if you want to learn more about different more complicated things Georgij let's you understand what is happening number 1 in my heart and mind
re Rep Moskowitz' "amendment", copied from Daily Kos : "Moskowitz’s second amendment proposed renaming Greene’s office in the Cannon House Office Building as the “Neville Chamberlain Room” - a reference to the British prime minister known for his appeasement policy who promised “peace for our time” after signing a non-aggression pact with Hitler in Munich in January 1938 that allowed Germany to occupy part of Czechoslovakia."
I agree with most of your energetic explanations of the current events! sadly it seems the we have tried ever wrong option before we look at the right one. yes I am a US citizen. I am ashamed it has taken this long to give a glimmer of hope.
My comments indeed seem to be deleted automatically. Especially when referring to my support for delivering certain manned flying devices with wings, which' exact model number I cannot mention.
Thank you Ukraine Matters for supporting in Ukraine’s defence of western democracy
Excellent reporting. Hopefully aid being supplied will be very generous. Ukraine needs to use this to win!
04:00 “cluster munitions banned in Europe…” is not true. In Estonia we have them, but it has label on it, “Estonian usage only”.
💛🔱💙 Slava Ukraina! Heroyam Slava! ❤️☠️🖤
Georgijs you are preaching to the converted. The discourse regarding the actual dispersal of the funds in the aid package needs to be put in front of the American voters.
just do the lend lease! The EU can then just pay for it. i dont understand why the EU doesnt do this anyway. we could easily fund this war we have a 25 trillion Euro economy its like a 100 billion Euro yearly cost so every EU nation would have to spend like 3.7 billion Euros on a yearly basis thats not much at all.
I love it when Georgie does not mince his words.
Special thanks for putting in the cluster rounds 👍
Nobody really mentions their massive effects -and Z🧟land using them anyway - in context of this "ban from moral high ground"...
great episode
