My use case is making some vacation videos (kayaking, free diving, etc.). Coming from several GoPro versions, the latest version was 11, I really appreciate the Action 5. The battery life is great and it just works. No overheating or random shutdowns; I appreciate that the most. For freediving/snorkeling, the white balance sensor handles surfacing transitions very well (compared to GoPro); no more red tinted footage. I've been using the flat profile along with the DJI color LUT in DaVinci Resolve. For me, this is a keeper.
I have had the OA1 and 3 and was very excited about the 5 but after weighing it all up I still preferred the image from the 4. Combined it with my ad combo I already had. The 5 just didn't blow my socks off enough to get it , seemed lazy. Will see if they hype the 6 up as a ' pro ' and just be that year's yearly release. I honestly love DJI action btw . I returned the action 5 and bought the action 4 because of the image quality. The action 5 has overdone HDR with no option to turn it off.Action 4 has better image quality at 1/2 the price ( I paid $209.00) on sale). All the feature improvement hype doesn’t mean anything if the image quality is not there. Keep up the good work ! Happy new year to you and your family 🎉

I’m struggling with footage in well lit indoor areas. Eg; shopping malls, airports,etc. Image stabilisation is so bad in these locations and I don’t know if it’s because of artificial lights?
How does the Action 5 Pro compare to the GoPro with the Max lease mod for image stabilisation? Snowboarding and kitesurfing videos is my main use and they stabilise really well but otherwise a bit of a pig. Thank you for the video.
imo the OA4 looks more natural, the quality on the 5Pro is a little better but the colors are a little extreme. Definitely not worth the price gap of 130€.
I switched front the 4 to the 5 when it came out. Connecting two mic2s to it was a game changer for us. We are a travel channel where i mic up my wife and i while we vlog at the same time. The 5 Mic connections works 1000 percent better than the 4. It just works every time. If that’s important to you then get the 5. Larry
It is the only DJI product I regret buying. Color in standard video is horrible and the fake hdr look is unacceptable imo. Also, one feature I use from the osmo action 1 is auto exposure bracketing. For photos They completely skipped that feature on the pro. I suspect they called it pro so they can charge more. That said, thanks for the video. I appreciate your work and time out I to making them.

it's fix now in new firmware 18/1/25. we have got 2 new color profile "vivid and natural " which HDR gone.
@@se7enheartz thats not true. HDR is not gone, and the differences between neutral and vivid are marginal, and only detectable in optimal conditions.

Great video. In a purelly utilitarian pov, action 5 pro is better than the action 4, but image quality is worse, and that is very disapointing.

Shooting in DLOG fixed the processed look of videos.
Due to the flare issue with Action 4 and Action 5 I went back to Action 3 and GoPro 12.
I have a action 3 and thinking of getting action 5 or a GoPro 12.

I like the Action 4 image better. There is a new firmware in beta that is supposed to be released soon that will improve the Action 5.
How long has it been out now ? Was rushed . Lazy from dji
It was just released about two days ago. I just loaded it last night. Hope to try it today.
