My Son was a huge DMB fan. He was at this concert too. He passed away last year in May so I love watching these videos in honor of my son. RIP Cal. Dad loves you.
And somehow this is just the sad poetry so fitting of their music..

Reynolds solo evolving over the years, this one is really a masterpiece. If he can top this one, I'll listen to it a million times as well!!!
2:05 Dave looks at Tim and realizes that Tim is taking it another level tonight .... and then he remembers that another level for Tim Reynolds is something that most mortals cannot comprehend... Dave laughs and smiles and carries on. Dave is a ridiculously talented guitar player yet.... he knows that the things that Tim Reynolds can do on a guitar are otherworldly and that Tim may be from another planet... this is too good for words... despite all the words i have used in a feeble attempt to describe it's incredible-ness.

@@Cassady_420 ok it may not be hard for him, but there are times that I’ve seen him genuinely enjoying Tim’s playing.
To me this is one of the best solos I’ve ever heard. It’s virtuosic but not overdone, melodic, emotionally expressive and really captures the melancholy mood of the song

The best acoustic solo I've seen, just crazy complexity while remaining melodic and not chaotic... Absolutely impressive! Towards the end Dave glances over at Tim a couple times, probably to make sure the dude is human. Then the classic Dave smile at him at the end, ridiculous!

The chemistry between Dave and Tim is undeniable and beautiful for one to witness. Life sometimes offers us gifts. Watching these two lose themselves in their craft is certainly one of those times. Unequivocally, Dave and Tim create and perform for the unadulterated sake of simply doing what they were put on this planet to do. Every one out there should take notes and follow their passion like these two gents have done! ❤
I've watched this solo over a hundred times probably. Blows me away every time. These two are, and always will be incredible together. Luckily, I was able to see them multiple times over the years.

Omg the entire band just admires each other sooo much! The look on their faces as they watch each other play is just heartwarming! It's so apparent that they love what they do, they love their fans, I just can't say enough amazing things about them! Becoming a Dave fan changed my life forever. The love I feel for Dave and the band is out of this world! Sounds crazy to some but only other Dave fans would get it and understand, which is what I just love so much!

Absolutely!! Love it! Dave always shows admiration to his band members and is constantly thanking his fans throughout the concert....Part of what I love so much about Dave and the band is just how you can feel how much they love what they do and love each other! What other musician or band goes on tour literally every year with a winter tour every other year? Just shows that they wouldn't ever want to disappoint their fans and they love what they do!! I will miss them sooo much this summer because of this virus!!
Dave & Tim havent skipped a beat. They are truly second to none, when you get these two together. You get magic. Its this simple. Two Acoustic guitars, one voice.

And you know there are a lot of people who don't because I've bragged about being a Dave fan for the last 20 years and I don't find many people who are fans. Danielle Prefach I bought the first Dave Matthews band cd when it first came out, my 15 year old son acquired it when he got his first car. In college at 21 years old he acquired a taste for playing guitar. Room mate played guitar and helped him learn. Within 2 months
He was playing Dave covers and then started writing his own songs. Put his self the rest of the way through college playing open mike nights and then put a band together. He is a PT now and plays only for his family but we sure enjoy having our own Dave Matthews perform for us any time we can get him together with his guitar. I am a blessed mom to have this talented young man in my life. Dave Matthews has been an inspiration in our family.
I've never seen Dave or Tim personally, but I have heard them and these fella's and the band have touched my heart....my soul. They are not just great at what they do...they are gifted! And it is a gift. A damn fine gift indeed
So true. When they were in Denver a few months ago, I couldn't find anyone to go with me due to the fact they weren't fans. They don't know what they're missing.

It is awesome to see someone so completely in command of their instrument. There are not lots of people out there like Tim. Prince hit me like that, and maybe SRV, but the club is small. Tim owns ever bit of that fretboard, and makes that guitar sing. Amazing.
Had a friend that knew the guitar. Showed me how to play crash one way. Then showed me two other ways. Said once I learn the techniques to play he could come in and play the third way and add so much . Reynolds may be the best guitar player ever

Tim actaully discovered Dave when Dave was starting out and working as a bartender at Miller's in Va. Tim helped him gather musicians from the area whom are now still with the band.

Upvote. Tim actually discovered Dave while he was a bartender and would cover the stage when the talent wouldn't show up. From my understanding Tim Actually, and not to take anything away from DMB, i have been a huge fan seems like my whole adult life like '94'95? but Tim put the original members together. Knowing this makes the DMB featuring Tim Reynolds double disk so much sweeter.
Edit: just a side note encase you didnt know Tim Reynolds is a master musician and can play pretty much anything like a boss.

I frickin cried at this show because it broke my brain how sick this solo was. It was also great because it wasnt a 3 or 4 hour drive back to syracuse. CMAC Is nice, easy in, easy out, good acoustics.

I honestly think Tim Reynolds might be the best technical acoustic guitar player that ever lived. THAT EVER LIVED. He is combining metal techniques like sweep picking with other like Latin techniques like flamenco. NEITHER are easy, and he does them both at the same time. He is a genius, basically.

To 😢 Fabian Monge 1978-2003. A true lover of Dave Mathew’s and Tim Reynolds! I do have videos of him (My son) playing Gray and several of these songs and man he could play!
I love the recorded version of this song, but any live version is crazy. I used to replay the solo over and over again, and when it came on in my car, I would nearly blow out my speakers turning it up all the way. There are few who can compose melodies as well as DMB, and we are all blessed by it and lives are better for it. You cannot help but be in a better mood after hearing this song.
Years latter still as good as ever.

I have always loved that the jam in this song owes so much to Pachelbel's Canon. Tim picks up some of the perfect elements of Pachelbel's Canon in his solo on this one. Amazing.
