‘Do you mean pull?’
‘Oh sorry, Paul!’
This show will be forever brilliant.
In your own time my son 😂😂
“Ready when you are John”
“Do you mean pull”
“Oh sorry, Paul”
"Iggy Higgins? Iggy Higgins robs banks"
"I know... but its Saturday" 🤣🤣
You can almost picture the scene.
Del: "Hey Iggy could I borrow one of your shotguns for the weekend?"
Iggy: "Sure Del just have it back before Monday as I need it for a job."
There are more laughs in that 3 minute clip than in an entire episode of many current comedies.
Very true...and this is considered a weak episode of ofah.....tho I love it. the full version not the cut version on Netflix
True 🤣
@@donnn-ow4rj weak episode? Really?🤔
I agree mate....🤣🤣🤣
Modern writing is terrible, the demand for quick entertainment means lack of creativity and rehash of old jokes and stories, nothing original and authentic like this!
"Oh sorry Paul, in your own time son" 😂
2:26
"my" son, the "my" actually completes the joke,
😅🤣😅🤣😁👍
I don't understand how this never gets old.
Felt so sorry for Rodney in this episode. She genuinely liked him..
Yes but for how long
Rodney was simply just a novelty toy for Victoria simply cast aside when the time was right for her to do so.
Working class people & Toffs mix like water & oil in the end it never works out well in the end.
"Hes been with us for years, a bit like the income tax" 😂
"no income tax, no V.A.T."
"no income tax, no V.A.T."
2:02 - 2;06
What an absolute National treasure that man is! They just don’t make em like this no more 😂
International. I watched this in Iceland back in the day, and I'm still watching it in Spain
I've seen OFAH countless times, there is no number how many times I've laughed so hard (sex dolls, Del Boy sky diving, Albert war stories, ofc. Rodney's and Del's Batman and Robin scene, Trigger etc etc..), when I cried (grandad's funeral, Rodney's wedding where at the end Del Boy is left alone standing in the room with 'Holding back the years' from Simply Red playing in the background, Del and Rodney stuck in the elevator when Rodney finally opens up about Cassandra's miscarriage...that was particularly heavy, etc. etc.), this show was part of my life, I think this is the only show where the whole life is shown, from young Rodney to full grown up married man, from young 'pimp' Del Boy to Del Boy father of Damien, from grandad to white bearded uncle Albert. I swear, OFAH are the best, no show gave me so much joy like a lovely group from Nags Head, I wish I could rewind the clock and watch it for the first time..but I can't..
Huge thank you ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES from Bosnia and Herzegovina! Love ya!
Joe Pesci svaka cast brate
@@aleksacivcic7731 ma najbolja serija, nije fer izabrati neku epizodu koja se ističe, sve izmame smijeh ili suze, živio buraz 👌
Brilliant post, Joe. Couldn't agree more.
Also glad you brought up the miscarriage/lift scene, not many comedy sitcoms could do that but it did - quite simply beautiful and touching.
Another touching scene was Delboy talking (was a bit like a speech) about Grandad passing away in how he puts on an act to an extent as arguably a lot of us do and being disabled I could really relate to that too.
Glandorf baking bread. My sentiments exactly! All life is there, sweet and bitter sweet!
Nisam odavno ljepši komentar pročitala.. Pronalazim se u svakoj riječi🤗
When he slings the gun over his shoulder, they should have had them all diving for cover
Didn’t they do that when Rodney was giving it a go?
Yeah and shoots from the hip as well😅
The gun used is a Remington 870 wingmaster! If anyone cares 😂
That's the thing about Del. He may not have had the privileges of the toffs he encounters in his adventures, but he's no mug. He's smart, he's had to stay one step ahead of everyone all his life to survive. He's got many skills up his sleeve. He doesn't rub them in people's faces, he'll sometimes let things go and allow the downtrodden likes of Rodney believe they've gotten the better of him on occasion. But he'll get the better of you if need be. And despite his demeanor of a man who seems oblivious to the fact that he's being looked down upon, he knows full well and takes great pleasure in proving his superiority to those who underestimate and undervalue him.
That was an absolutely beautiful whole self perception of the great Derrick Trotter, underated comment ❤😜
Word up.
I feel like the interesting thing with Del is that his character does change throughout the show. At the beginning he's unashamedly himself, but by the 80's he desperately wants to be a Yuppie and they tap into the comedy of him trying to pretend to be something he's not. Either way, it's always endearing because you know he has 24K heart.
"Would you like these sir?" "No can't listen to music while I'm shooting" lol
Iggy Higgins robs banks!
I know! But it’s a Saturday. 😂😂
Oi, where did you get that gun from?
Iggy Higgins.
Iggy Higgins? Iggy Higgins robs banks!
I know, but it's Saturday.
The great old pump Action.👍
Nothing beats a good ole pump at a clay shoot..
Just add Water it’s just so much more fun than semis or break overs!
sly who pissed in your cornflakes, kid?
Terz haha ‘who pissed in your cornflakes kid?’ 😂
The look on the Duke’s face when Del puts the drumstick down in the fruit bowl 😂
For some reason i thought you meant Marlene's dog. 😊
@@CalamityHillMusic Me too 😂
@@CalamityHillMusic me too. I remember Rodney on the phone talking to Marlene and saying 'get down duke'.
Hahaaa! Just checked that again. :D Missed the 1st time... nice one :D
For any youngens that don't get the joke, banks used to be closed on Saturdays 👍
Back around those days, there was a bank robbery in Nice where they tunneled into the vault on a Friday night. They brought food and booze and spent the whole weekend breaking into the different lock boxes. Then they spray painted "peace and love" messages on the walls before sauntering off with all the loot. The same bank, "Societe Generale", is still there on the same spot today on Avenue Jean Medecin.
Phillip.
One of the best British comedies ever. Gotta love only fools.
This is considered the worst episode of the series
Observer Dude not in my eyes. Never seen a bad one
@@observerdude9809 Would agree, albeit reluctantly (as love the show) as Del comes across particularly badly.
@@robertryan6782 yh I agree I thought this was one of the worst episodes tbh they made Del pretty unlikeable in this one but it's all subjective anyway great show
@@observerdude9809 jeez it must be bad then
Feels strange without the laughter track even though I hate laughter tracks
I thought the exact same thing
Same
Alot of it's not canned laughter it's live stage when they do alot. Same as open all hours.👍
Both To Hull & back and this episode were laughter track free originally, its only in recuts that the added them.
I still laugh even without the laugh track. *THAT'S TALENT*
Every time he slings that gun over his shoulder and turns around so the barrel is pointing straight at the two guys behind him I scream a little internally. XD
Ready when you are John. Do you mean pull (Paul) ? Oh sorry Paul, in your`re own time my son :D Classic Del
RIP Jack Hedley, who played the Duke. He died last month
And they tried banning this
This my favourite ep. Hilarious 😂
Bigger question is......where did Del learn to shoot like that?
@yortzandat lmao!
Question Everything thanks for your contribution. Happy New Year
Question Everything go to bed and think about changing your outlook

Probably because it’s a load of bull.

2:34 Turn your headphones up, someone whispers really softly "Crikey. Blinking hell. Stunning.".
I said to myself million times , if I ever become famous I am gonna take Iggy Higgins as an alias, as an homage to Del Boy and Rodney and to this show that marked my childhood, my life and made huge impact on all Serbian people that often find themselves in worse. The positivism of Del Boy and his lovely jubbly spirit, he who dares motto are things that are always somewhere in my mind when I face some difficulties. Thanks OFAH for existing, thanks guys(David Jason and Nick Lyndhurst
) for making it so perfect. Thanks your Royal Comedy Highness .
Bear in mind that would make you Ignatius Higgins.
Доктор Иги је већ то урадио :)

" I'll be alright when I get my eye in " !! Christ I can't stop laughing 😅🤣😅🤣😅🤣😅 I forgot about that bit halerious 😅🤣😅🤣😅🤣😅😁👍
I love how everyone is expecting him to raise the shotgun to his shoulder and fire from the classic stance like a gentleman… and instead he just fires it from the hip like a gangster, then pumps it to fire again. We all know Del has a dodgy past (and present and future) but this suggests he has been involved in a lot more bad stuff than we are supposed to know about.
Totally! It's implied a few times in the show, like in the episode, 'To Hull and Back' where Boycie pays for the diamonds with counterfeit notes but pays Del in the genuine article saying 'I don't fancy plastic surgery'.
And there's that episode where Rodney has been going out with the wife of a local hardcase, Del let's him believe it's him who's been seeing her and willingly goes up an ally for a fight with him and his big mate.
He staggers into the pub battered and bruised later, but if you watch the scene it's obvious Del gave as good as he got and he tells Rodney it's sorted and he can keep seeing her.
Which suggests he might have even come out on top!
@@Ryan.90it's obvious Del won that fight
You see the shadows of Del and the bloke fighting and Del leaves slowly and calmly bruises very soon after, Del might look unintimidating but he's not one to mess with and is clearly used to fights.
He's honestly quite badass in his own comedic way. He's street smart, can manipulate and play people to his or others needs, is a big charmer, will stand up to anyone when he knows he has too, is clearly a good street fighter and is a crack shot with guns.
He'd be a good mob boss lol
@@jackbluehq6653 Tell you another good one, 'Cash and Curry', massive Indian who's a black belt in Karate squares up to him,
Del keeps his cool, joking around he's a black belt in origami, distracts him by acting daft then gives him a swift jab below the belt.
As you say, 'badass in his own comedic way'
Rodney looking like an extra from hound of the Baskerville's
Them socks though 😂😂
When you compare this clip to other comedies that have had the laughter track removed, such as The Big Bang theory, it's good to see how smooth and natural the dialogue and actions come across.
You do know that the big bang theory is performed in front of a live studio audience? When you perform live you need to pause for the laugh to die down before continuing so if you remove the laugh track from any performance in front of a live audience it will appear awkward when the comedian or actor pauses. It would be the same if you watched any great comedian whilst performing live
The scriptwriters of the Big Bang Theory use the live audience to gauge the jokes if something doesn't get the reaction they want they re-write it.
Only Fool and Horses wasn't performed in front of a live audience so there is no audience to pause for.so they can perform more naturally and leave it to the editor to pace the show.
@@24magiccarrot “use live audience to guage the jokes if something doesn’t get the reaction they want they rewrite it” - that is worrying for such an unfunny programme... do Americans find anything funny? 😂
@@christaylor3911 I think Big Bang Theory is funny and so do millions of other people, when you say it is unfunny what you mean is you don't find it funny.
@@24magiccarrot what do you find funny about it? Honestly I’ve tried but it’s clearly not my type of comedy as you say.
@@christaylor3911 It's very character driven, and I find that what those characters say is what they would say in the situations they find themselves in.
All of the main male characters are oddballs that don't quite fit with everyday life and have their quirks.
However, the show mostly centres around Sheldon who struggles to understand other peoples emotions is overly pedantic, takes things overly literally and doesn't get sarcasm, at the same time he is surrounded by people that have emotional issues and or are very sarcastic.
Intellectually Sheldon is a genius but emotionally he is that of a child and generally uses his intellectual arguments combined with childhood stubbornness to brow beat his friends into getting his own way.
The comedy arises from Sheldon's friends either being intentionally sarcastic knowing that Sheldon will take them literally or trying to explain their emotions in a manner that won't upset him, a lot of comedy comes from walking on eggshells around him.
The other characters have quirks that allow for comedy moments
Leonard tries to act normal but due to nerves, mummy issues and being a massive geek he sometimes falls short, Leonard is mostly there to act as the straight guy for the rest of the cast and is the one who is on the receiving end of Sheldons quirky behaviour the most.
Penny is portrayed by the main characters as being a dumb blonde but in fact she is of average intelligence but just happens to be surrounded by geniuses, she's the most normal in the group but because she's the most normal this in itself seems like a quirk in comparison to other characters
Amy thinks of herself as being a sexy alpha female but in reality, comes across as being frumpy and old fashioned.
Wolowitz obviously has issues but hides them using sarcasm and overcompensating displays of fake confidence
Bernadette acts all shy and goody goody but underneath has a raging temper
Raj has problems speaking to women for the first few seasons is completely mute when a woman is in the room at times he comes across as being in denial homosexual but is in fact just a very metrosexual man that gets overly attached far too quickly to anyone that shows him some affection
True comedy, I can never stop laughing however many times I see this show.
This is the rare chance you get to see this intact. John Sullivan hated how the episode came out because Del had a ‘nasty streak to him’. Around 2004, he wanted edited and did. 18 mins of material removed!!! Uncle Albert doesn’t appear collecting the shotgun and giving it to Del etc in the newer cut. Del simply goes to shoot and the headphone gag.
Wish this was on over christmas BBC is dire
it was on a few days after
It's always on Gold
@@Jordan-lr4bi yeah but not everyone has gold it's a classic and should be on BBC at Christmas
Those were the days .... guaranteed laughter for an hour .
Actually this is considered to be the worst episode of Only Fools apart from "If they could see us now". Not all Only Fools episodes are classics. Del was a prick in this episode even John Sullivan hated this episode.
Albert - "Durin' the war I sailed on one of her majestys frigates"
The Duke - "Oh really? I was the SBO in Colditz"
Albert - "Alright no need to brag, we all did our bit"
Ha! Niche reference!
Ready when you are jon , do you mean pull, oh sorry paul, in your own time my son hahahaha
The actor playing the father is Jack Hedley. He is the same actor that played the father of Bond girl Melina in the Bond movie For Your Eyes Only. Also, he played the lead detective in the highly controversial Lucio Fulchi movie The New York Ripper.
He was also in quite a few other classic films and TV series, probably the best being the 1970's 'Colditz' as Cornell Preston, the Senior British officer in the 'camp'.
You may retire my good man
I thought I did that years ago 😂
I've never seen this before, and I felt so proud of Del when he nailed it!
No thanks I don't listen to music hahaha
‘Nah, can’t listen to music while i’m shootin’
Gold
British comedy at its best.
I always wanted to see more winning moments! Where the boys shine
Great to hear some of the original lines
The dvd I have has loads of parts missing from this episode
Amazes me that the BBC can legally charge us for watching programs WE all paid to make in the first place via license fee. They must be laughing their socks off at all the suckers prepared to do so.
Fuckin right.
Get the box set then you're be laughing at those wankstains john!!!
then they upload all their stuff for the rest of the world to watch for free at the expense of the british tax payer
Don't pay it is the simple answer
We have to keep the upper Beeb management in kugel and bagels.
Classic comedy will stand the test of time!!!
1:26 This is the original un-cut version, you can tell as there's no laughter track, and this part where Del asks Albert to get his gun which has been cut from the re-edit.
It's the same thing on the To Hull and Back episode.
I saw it last night and it cross my mind : " where is that scene " Now i watch it before 10min ago
Will never get old ,comic gold !.
I remember this. Chiefly because of the lack of a laugh track.
“Iggy Higgins robs banks” “I know. But it’s Saturday”
Dressed like the man, drives like the fool...love the British 😊
Cant listen to music when I'm shooting
Sorry, Paul!
In your own time, my son!
Absolute comedy GOLD!
The best Xmas special of this ever lol
That last bit 😂
this was one of the few episodes I really felt sorry for rodney and was a bit resentful towards Del because he ruined their relationship. It probably just highlighted that there was too much of a 'class' gap between them for it to ever work
I agree that he messed it for Rodney, but I think it's supposed to show that Del seems to get too involved in Rodney's life and not wanting him to mess it up, so Del ends up messing it up for him.
This was a really horrible episode from that point of view, I hated Del by the end of it.
I can keep watching this over and over and over again make me laugh bloody brilliant 🤣👍🏻🇬🇧
Classics of classics!
This was epic 😂😂😂
'I'll be alright when I get me eye in', after having scored two hits from the hip with a pump action shotgun, quality!

Hehe it s Saturday the robbers are off on the weekends too...
Absolute classic
Knowing that pump action has at least 3 shots left in the tube mag makes me cringe as he carries it on his shoulder backwards haha , yes I know its not real
Don’t worry David, in the UK most shotguns are limited to 3 shots, max. Unless of course the owners are authorised by the police to have higher capacity, or it’s used by a villain for blagging.
@@engineer6250 Shotguns held on a shotgun certificate are limited to three shots, but not if they are held on a firearm certificate, which isn't so unusual. I know somebody with a semi-auto shotgun without a restricted magazine held on a firearm certificate.
