Never ceases to amaze me that people choose the live version assumingly because they want see the concert & then have their eyes closed for most of it. Very strange!
Viewers that do this are more into the pure musicianship of the artists performing live and then the awesome lightshow comes in second to round it all out. Respect.
I feel when Rick Wright died Pink Floyd died David solo performances were still sound like Pink Floyd now you can tell something missing. Still David does a great job. It was nice touch that David brought Rick back on his new album. Ever notice how David puts his emotions in his guitar he speaks better with his guitar then in person. David was on tour this year with new Album and old PF songs
Saw this concert at Soldier Field in Chicago. With Floyd not only do you get the amazing light show, but the sound is as clean and pure as if you're listening to the album on a set of giant headphones. They achieve this by encircling the entire stadium with speakers that reproduce every sound effect, heartbeat, disembodied voice that you hear on the albums... Almost eerily so. To the point I found myself looking over my shoulder more than once during 'Dark Side of the Moon' for instance, because you would swear some of the spoken word voices that fade in and out in-between some of the songs were being whispered right in your ear from people sitting behind you. And I was in the mezzanine! Full quad emersive reproduction. This is the kind of incredible attention to detail these guys provided. With Pink Floyd everything... the music, the recording and production, the live shows, everything, was ahead of its time.
Saw them 2 nights after this show as this was the 20th October Thursday night filmed PULSE and I saw them 22nd Saturday which was exactly the same show like 14 others in the month of October a record residency of any band. PULSE is effectively live at Earl's Court London ... Best thing about Floyd doesn't matter where when you see them everyone gets the same EPIC show.Great reaction video 👍
I too was there on the Saturday night, on the left hand side in line with the control booth directly in line with the glitter ball, the effect of the reflection on everything was out of this world no wonder that we all let out a roar of appreciation. 🤯🤘
I saw these guys in the Spring of '88, during their "Momentary Lapse of Reason" Tour. The Venue was the Los Angeles Coliseum. They did an amazing Performance of "Comfortably Numb".
saw them few times at the olympic stadium in Montréal... between 1988 and 1994 ... on LSD , Mushrooms etc etc ,,,, but also saw them straight ....and no matter in wich state of ( whatever you call it ) .... pink floyd brings you in outer space emotions
David is currently doing a tour with his solo band too promote his new album ' Luck and Strange ' ,his daughter is also a member now as she sings on the album in a duet with her father. I was at Earl's Court for this concert and I have also seen the 'Australian Pink Floyd ' twice, arguably the best of the cover bands and a few years back I also managed to get to see Roger in concert as well, Earl's Court is an experience never to be forgotten or bettered.
I watch every reaction i find to this song, even though i own the dvd of P U L S E. Pink Floyd is number 1 band for me, live or recorded. I see from your information that you're interested in social matters. There's an artist from Wales who has a worldwide fanbase though he can't tour due to health issues. His name is Ren and he sings and raps about the world's social issues, as well as having some phenomenal videos of busking with his band, The Big Push. His biggest song has been Hi Ren, though i like many of his other songs more. Please listen to Hi Ren. His fans, Renegades, will give you details it would take me too long to list here. They flock to channels in their thousands if they believe you will love Ren, withour being partisan.
It may interest you to know that David Gilmour has recently had a number one album, "Luck and Strange" and has been touring extensively in Europe and the US. I believe the tour has finished now though. You should definitely check out the album... It's absolutely superb! Thanks for a great reaction. It may also interest you to know that I was at the Pulse concert, from which "Comfortably Numb" is taken, the night it was filmed. It was the best concert I had ever seen, or ever expect to see. You should definitely react to some more songs from that concert. I'm sorry you never got to see Pink Floyd live... I was lucky enough to see them twice. As a live act, nothing has ever come close. All the best and a very happy Christmas to you!
I never got to see them either but I have seen so many concerts I'm ok with it. Have you by any chance ever listened to Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush? If not (or even if you have) I doubt you could go wrong by checking out: "Frank Marino - Live at the Agora Theatre - It's Begun to Rain" Really anything of his/theirs, but I'm partial to that song and that performance, Strange Dreams is nice too. Just thought I'd mention it. Back to Comfortably Numb, it's amazing how many people are moved so much by this song. I remember buying this album when it was just out. Listened to it constantly constantly. It's timeless. Peace.
Yes, you missed seeing them live; and missed seeing David live a month ago. He did Comfortably Numb and Wish You Were Here, and Time, and Great Gig, and Sorrow in his tour in October and November this year. I saw them live in 1975. David will generate high quality videos of the latest concerts, and he as already put together a composite of one of the songs with high quality: ua-cam.com/video/SOKlfW3ABtA/v-deo.html ( David Gilmour - The Piper's Call Live Around The World ) He and his daughter - their voices blend perfectly and he still has some magic, at 78 years young. You may want to consider doing a reaction to the song "Scattered" from David's new album. It has a pretty deep meaning and a solo at the end of the same caliber as Comfortably Numb - soaring and striking a resonant chord deep into one's very soul.... it appears to be a lament at nearing the end: "I stand in a river... push against the stream... Time is a Tide that disobeys... and it disobeys me..."
Hi 👋 Excellent Track. So good. What a Solo by Gilmour. Fantastic. Genesis are a good Band. Especially early GENESIS with Peter Gabriel. More Floyd please 🙏 Ronnie SCOTLAND 😊
You would not have missed anything by not going to t Pink Floyd concert...SINCE YOU WOULD HAVE HAD YOUR EYES CLOSED 90% OF THE TIME HAD YOU BEEN THERE!!!!
Please, please, and it's been noted in the comments of many reactors' to this one, you never, ever, ever, EVER pause a David Gilmour guitar solo, especially the second one. Other than that, all good, love your honest perspectives.
Saluti italiani
Two crimes done, putting on the Pulse concert show version of the song and keeping your eyes closed, then pausing the greatest solo by David Gilmour. 🤦♂ Otherwise, a good reaction and comments.
You rookie! You NEVER interrupt a David Gilmour solo! The music is more important than listening to you talk. Last time I watch you. Watch every other reaction person listen to this song. Everyone never interrupts the solo. You’re a novice! Smh 🤦🏻

Isn't it beautiful... I cried the first ten times I heard the solo.. I really appreciated this reaction

Saw them do this show in Clemson Stadium may 12th 1994 and was the best concert I've ever seen by far! And I've saw them all I'm 69
David Gilmour has just completed a tour and has hinted that he enjoyed it so much that he may tour again next year.
This song has soul, definitely..!
He’s touring as we speak. He was in NY this past November. His daughter Romany is touring with him.
The best guitar solo of all time. No one plays with more emotion than David Gilmour.
You've never heard of Gary Moore
@garrydriver8812 that's a bit arrogant. Many people have heard of Gary Moore. Doesn't mean they have to discount David Gilmour.
@@toniyoung5131
I certainly wouldn't discount Dave Gilmour but I would argue that Gary Moore plays with as much emotion and feeling as any guitarist.
Great reaction bro, loved it!

Pausing a David Gilmour leaves people trapped in another dimension of space time and should be punished by listening to Nickelback for life.
David Gilmour is 78, two weeks shy of being exactly one year older than me.
I was around, saw them in New Orleans ❤
