LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!! The number of floorplans with open-concept bunks leads me to believe that no one has a kid like mine that needs a private room to be able to go to sleep, he's just too sociable. So either we all go to bed at 7pm, or grownups have to sit outside (the windows and the walls). We also need a private room with enough space to work, away from the same noisy kid. Currently, we are in a 37ft tt with big bunkroom to mitigate these needs, but this one achieves the same thing over 10ft shorter and without the stupidly large and uncomfortable truck. What I wouldn't give to go back to a smooth ride f-150! Outside storage is lacking for sure...but that's what the truck can provide also.
Thanks for the great video! Man, i wish they had gone with a pocket door on the bunk slide like the Imagine. We have 3 kids, and want to use both bunks plus put a cot in there which a lot of people seem to do with the imagine version, but the hinged door going into the room is going to prevent that from being a possibility.
This was early early access footage when they were still ironing out 2025 updates. It's possible little tweaks like that have changed. VERY often when I get early access stuff they have little updates before it goes live
I really, really love the concept of this model along with all the amenities of the Rockwood. I am looking to upgrade from my 179 DBK eventually. The best feature of that model is the absolute killer campside window that doesn't open, so it has an even better unobstructed view than the newer DBK's. Until I saw this model, I was 100% absolute "no" on an RV without a big campside window as everything about it gives me so much joy! On first glance, this made me reconsider my #1 must have!! The thing that solidified the no for me was not being able to get in the bed without opening slide. I love being able to park on a regular street when visiting family and spending the night. Having slides open probably wouldn't work in a tract neighborhood, and I know with the kids beds, the slide would have to be fully open for them to utilize bunks as well. Beautiful concept tho! Someone needs to re design these slide systems so they can be utilized without sliding out if needed!!

This and the 2616bh are the best floor plans I have ever seen for people who want a private space for the kids without buying a gigantic trailer. I prefer the private front bedroom on the 2616, but man, to save 4 feet and a lot of weight, this one is amazing. Also, I prefer the actual door to the bunk room on this one as opposed to the curtain on the 2616. If I bought the 2616, I would rig up an accordion door for more sound blocking.
This camper makes my ❤ sing. 😲. Love privacy for kids, love their own 12v TV. Love the family size dinette. Ok with curtain queen, no walls to bump elbows into. Fans in the right places. Solid surface counters👍 How much?

This one isn't too bad at all. I completely agree with your vision of turning the alleged bunk room into an office and yes, I pick up what you're putting down about sharing some of the bathroom storage. Speaking of the bathroom yes, they need to either shift or rotate that toilet. Otherwise, this unit ticks most of our boxes. Thanks for the tour, Uncle Josh!
This is a great option. We have been looking for something smaller but has a dedicated office space, This could be it. Thank you for always being so thorough with your videos. Every extra step is really really appreciated.
Awesome floor plan!! Just went to the Tacoma RV Show and saw plenty of Mini Lites. I gotta say, I was highly impressed with the quality. Looking forward to this model.
Looks like the toilet can just be caddie cornered for better space.🎉 I am so happy 12 volt fridges are coming out with bottom freezers. I have hit my head way to many times with top freezers.
I like the idea of using the back table as an office space. If you can hook up your laptop to the TV to use as a monitor that would be super cool, but you'd need a table and sit a different way, but a little creativity could solve that problem. I like that they use the solid surface counters.
Thanks Nerd ;) On this particular model, I would rather have the fixed ladder than removable, since the passthrough is hard to access. So unless the Camera is standard included, I would rather lose the camera mount, keep the ladder, and let the customer/deal add a camera aftermarket, which could just clip to the ladder...
I LOVE THIS ONE. Finally, a Mini Lite/Micro Lite that has a place to bring dogs along, which is how I would use/modify the bunkroom. It would be nice if there was some sort of access door (or even a secondary full door) on the rear instead of the half-deep shelves to be able to bring dogs in without running them through the full length of the camper, especially if they're wet and/or dirty! On that note, would like to see a Shub-style tub/shower to more easily bath a grandkid or a dog, but I realize that's not typically part of Rockstaff's 'jam'...but it would be a big plus here! Wish the pantry had flip up shelves instead of removable (but it would be an easy DYI conversion), and still not a fan of the monochrome exterior graphics...I miss the orange accents but also glad they standardized on the white base color and ditched the dated 'champagne' exterior. Dislikes: HATE the 1970s-bathroom light fixture over the dinette!!! Rockstaff went to that a couple of years ago, and it is U-G-L-Y! Also, no cubbies behind the side hanging wardrobes at the head of the bed with power outlets??? I thought that the other Mini lite/Macro lite models had that (like nearly every other RV made). Hopefully that's just a 'prototype' oversight, because otherwise it's a MISS (even with that one inverter outlet on that side). Not a fan of a "freeze drawer" (instead of a traditional-style freezer). The front pass-through storage is nearly useless with that design (unless you just choose to load and unload from inside under the sofa) I'm a BIG fan of the Mini Lite/Micro Lite models and this has shot up to nearly the top based on its layout (despite its minor design shortcomings). Hopefully, as part of your factory visit, you (finally) got a chance to do an updated 2025 model video of my FAV model the Mini Lite 2513S/Flagstaff 25BSDS too!?!?!
@@JoshtheRVNerd Came here to say the same as above. But, personally, I'd rather have the U dinette, single entry door and the wider 30" bunk. I agree! I don't like the 3 burner and oven. I don't use 3 burners simultaneously at home. Not sure why I'd need them camping. It would be better with a 2 burner gas stove, with more counter space, and a nice deep storage drawer where the oven is. This unit is short on storage and counter space as it is. @@JoshtheRVNerd love it! Can’t wait for that one. BTW - with these mini lites… I wish desperately they would option in a non-L-shaped kitchen for something more like a GeoPro. I like this one a lot. I don’t like the flooring - the slide. - it should be the same throughout. Move the tall cabinet near the bed for a coat shoe closet like the 2509 it’s so valuable there. I love the French door fridge I’m seeing in other models. The “privacy”curtain should be lined. It’s paper thin. Josh, could you demonstrate lying on the bunks and sitting in the u dinette please? Instead of the shelf at the head of the Murphy bed... lower the shelf so it becomes flush with the shorty queen when it's open. Have that lowered shelf padded too. Then the pillows can go all the way to the front, essentially regaining the length of a true queen. Finally, add power pockets to those hanging closets so there's still a space for your phones.
Very cool. Rockwood and GD are the only two that I know of with this set up. I believe the XLS is a tad lighter as well. I like when they get creative with the shorter bunk models 👌 Thanks Josh, I've been looking for a video on this model.

The Murphy bed is one of the best ones I have seen. The buck house is so cool. The side makes a big difference. The bathroom is good. Like this. Can I get this in a couples models?
This is an awesome family bunkhouse camper👍👍👍only because Rockwood gives you the choice of “optioning” out that 1950’s diner booth dinette for a comfortable sofa or theater seating💥💥💥because let’s face it, 1 dinette is too many, let alone 2😂😂😂
@@michaelgartman4320 Maybe at their picnic table or their residential table and chairs🤷♂️I relax in my theater seating on cold rainy days and for an hour or so before bed, so I’m certainly not trading comfort for an occasional card game😂that’s why we need “options”👍
I really appreciate the floor plan picture at the beginning as well as laying on the bed and standing in the shower for visual comprehension. Thanks Josh.
How comfortably could two adults sleep on the U dinette? My brother in law is like 6'3" his and my sister go camping with us all the time so when i but my first camper i will be considering guest space. I wouldn't expect them to pop a tent next to my RV i actually like them lol
1). Jackknife-to-sleeper sofa instead of mini dinette in the bunk room 2). Pocket door on bunk room to facilitate this 3). Pocket door on the bathroom so it doesn't open into kitchen and makes that area less busy 4). Instead of bottom shelf in bathroom closet, make an open cubby for the bunk room. Can double as a nightstand for those sleeping on the jackknife sofa 5). Put cubbies next to the queen bed using the space at the back of the bedside closets. Put USBs in those. 6). Wish the campside windows (or both windows next to the bed) were about 4" wider for the views. Love the mini-lites. These changes would make it a perfect trailer for me.
@@stevez340 For my needs, I like the U-dinette for eating indoors on rainy nights, and sitting around playing games. Hey Josh! Love your channel, and will be watching live tonight for sure. Do you happen to know if Rockwood did decide to change the ladder? I just saw one of these units online here at a dealer in Canada...and it looked like the same ladder and placement as you have here...didnt look to be a telescoping ladder.
Good gravy they nailed this. Josh, the RW website shows dry weight 6,000 lbs, FYI. Which I think is the problem. It's amazing that RW cranks everything to 11, but that just makes it extra heavy. IMHO this is not safely half ton towable. Once it's loaded with gear hitch is probably 850-900. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd probably go with the grand design Imagine 22 BHE that they copied to create this. I prefer several of the choices GD made such as a coffee bar instead of a second pantry, no kids dinette, and diagonal toilet position.
Yeah the weights/measures I posted here came off this early prototype but sometimes they tweak stuff before it goes live. Their website should supersede what's listed here
We have the 2516 (actually the FKBS) but that could have done with the fridge that opens both ways! Sitting on the couch and wanting a Canadian cola would be so nice if it opened that way! 😉
Curious what brands of colas/drinks you have up there more regionally. Around here we have Faygo available quite often which is a smaller bottler vs pepsi/coke but I don't see it outside this region much
They verifiable do as Josh is an honest person on all levels, gives the verifiable facts, the good and the not so much, that’s why we ❤Josh. Honesty, what a cool 😎 concept.
lol I know. The entire Imagine family has easily become the most "cloned" builder out there. Look how many copies of things like these are available: ► 22MLE ► 17MKE ► 2600RB ► 2800BH The list goes on
Hot dog. Extend it a foot or so and add a wall for a front private bedroom. Guess what you got all kinds of privacy for everyone at any moment of time.
@@JoshtheRVNerd will keep watching to see. I have Micro Minnie FLX 2306BHS & family needs more space & storage options while keeping under 30ft in a trailer that has off-grid packages to run AC on solar/battery. Interested in leaning about 2025 Rockstaff 2519 or 2520 or Ibex 23MBH for our camping next year
Funny how they privatized the bunk room for the nonpaying guest and left the main bed in the kitchen/front room for the people paying the bills. I would prefer a privatized front bed room, but the bathroom was awesome
Like the outside access better of 2509s. The bunk slide out is nice but waste sleeping space, but will work as a game room for 2 but too small for anymore..
What if there was an option for a long desk and chair instead of the mini dinette? Now you’re talking! I require two large monitors to work remotely and that little dinette won’t work for me. Thanks for listening!
Very cool idea for the bunks. I'm thinking you can leave them up until you have kids / grandkids stay over, and have theater seats instead of the main dinette, if that were available. Although Murphy beds are a deal breaker for me, RockStaff has the easiest opening / closing one I've ever seen.
I can definitely see this as an alternative to the awesome 2509S. Trade the bigger bunk for an actual bunk room in the same size/weight class. Very cool idea. But I'm thinking, instead of a small dinette, how about something like a versa lounge (I know, different brand, but you get the idea). Somewhere the kids can really hang out comfortably, rather than a dinette.
I don't think it'll change much. You might be able to slide thru past the slide out slightly easier but I am not thinking it'll be a night and day difference
I'm unsure. I know only that they didn't like how it looked despite it "actually being ok" and I think they went to a different ladder setup on this one (like telescopic that wont block the camera in transit)
Pull out all the stops, I believe refers to pipe organs and if they want to go to ELEVEN and really rock out, they pull out all of the stops on the organ. I remember the CBC Hockey Night in Canada broadcast for the last game at the old Chicago Stadium Arena that the Blackhawks played at, and they interviewed the organist who was retiring with the Stadium. Asked about his most memorable moment in the arena, he referred to him pulling out all the stops and hitting the lowest notes possible when a riot started after a dubious loss that the fans blamed on horrendous calls from the ref and a nasty cheap shot that wasn't called. He said that the whole building shook, and the majority ran out scared that the old barn was going to collapse on itself. 😂😂😂
I think their larger "power package" could be available on this but I don't know if they've actually engineered it out yet That system basically fundamentally changes the entire RV electrical power distribution & has to be essentially" done again" from the ground up
I like your idea of a little extra storage from the bathroom cabinet going into the bunk room. How about leaving the top 2 shelves as a cabinet accessible in the bathroom, and making a drawer under the TV in the bunk room using the space in the bottom shelf of the bathroom pantry? I like the idea of having a space to put bedding for the lower bunk since it may be used as a dinette some of the time.
@@JoshtheRVNerdAlso, I thought about it today and wondered if there would be more use for a full sized bed jack knife sofa instead of a second dinette. Then you could get 3 kids in there and they could have a sofa to watch their shows on. There’s already a big enough dinette in the kitchen. Just a thought. And if I wanted to, would they let people order it that way?
Also: Change the bunk room door to a slider. And the bathroom door a slider also, and move the toilet over an inch .5. It would really help that busy corner out, and facilitate the jackknife sofa in the bunk room in the open position. And, also with the windows were all a little bigger! Otherwise, amazing design as always with the mini lites!
Can a swing-away tongue be added to this, or any travel trailer to reduce the overall length when stored? My driveway will support a 25’ 2” long trailer, but many of this style with these features are 26’ or longer.
That back area could definitely be an office. This might be my camper but want a closed off master bedroom. Anyway, just make a 2" riser for next to that back room to put an office chair on and you are done. maybe a removable table to go on the table to provide more works surface. EASY!
I've been taught to be skeptical of anything with lite or light in the name. Usually means most flimsy materials they can find (for weight of course). I'd rather have something heavier that's built better and built to last.
You're not wrong for being cautious that way. There was plenty of years of evidence to support that mindset. Rockwood used to be SIGNIFICANTLY lighter in weight but they weren't happy seeing some of the flooring issues that were resulting. They added a lot of bulk the past few years and are far more solid now than ever before

The Murphy bed is one of the best ones I have seen. The buck house is so cool. The side makes a big difference. The bathroom is good. Like this. Can I get this in a couples models?
With no bunks this would likely be the one to consider: ua-cam.com/video/sIlcwZVhxjI/v-deo.html
thank you Sir
Most welcome
This is an awesome family bunkhouse camper👍👍👍only because Rockwood gives you the choice of “optioning” out that 1950’s diner booth dinette for a comfortable sofa or theater seating💥💥💥because let’s face it, 1 dinette is too many, let alone 2😂😂😂
Where do people who hate dinettes sit when they want to play cards? lol
@@michaelgartman4320 Maybe at their picnic table or their residential table and chairs🤷♂️I relax in my theater seating on cold rainy days and for an hour or so before bed, so I’m certainly not trading comfort for an occasional card game😂that’s why we need “options”👍
Bunk would be my closet & taping room.
taping?
@@JoshtheRVNerd Yup. I'm an actor & do audition self-tapes from home. 😎🎞🎥
I really appreciate the floor plan picture at the beginning as well as laying on the bed and standing in the shower for visual comprehension. Thanks Josh.
awesome good to know
How comfortably could two adults sleep on the U dinette? My brother in law is like 6'3" his and my sister go camping with us all the time so when i but my first camper i will be considering guest space. I wouldn't expect them to pop a tent next to my RV i actually like them lol
Short answer: Not very most likely
1). Jackknife-to-sleeper sofa instead of mini dinette in the bunk room
2). Pocket door on bunk room to facilitate this
3). Pocket door on the bathroom so it doesn't open into kitchen and makes that area less busy
4). Instead of bottom shelf in bathroom closet, make an open cubby for the bunk room. Can double as a nightstand for those sleeping on the jackknife sofa
5). Put cubbies next to the queen bed using the space at the back of the bedside closets. Put USBs in those.
6). Wish the campside windows (or both windows next to the bed) were about 4" wider for the views.
Love the mini-lites. These changes would make it a perfect trailer for me.
Definitely a jackknife sofa in the bunk-room, along with the sofa or theater seating “option” for the humongous Denny’s diner booth dinette👍
I think a telescopic ladder would cause just as many safety concerns as a partially blocked rear camera🫤
These are great ideas really
@@stevez340 For my needs, I like the U-dinette for eating indoors on rainy nights, and sitting around playing games. But it's awesome because It looks like the theater seat is an option for those that prefer that. :) I do like that people can choose what suits their needs. Maybe they will offer a jackknife sofa in the bunk room instead of the dinette as an option...Let's hope!
@@RyderDye1983 Instead of a manufacturer’s take it or leave it approach, I just want every customer to have the “option” to choose whatever seating best suits their needs whenever possible👍👍👍
Hey Josh! Love your channel, and will be watching live tonight for sure. Do you happen to know if Rockwood did decide to change the ladder? I just saw one of these units online here at a dealer in Canada...and it looked like the same ladder and placement as you have here...didnt look to be a telescoping ladder.
I'm pretty sure they did but I haven't been able to verify. Our local folks at 800-256-5196 could look into that for you
Love Rockwood/Flagstaff products and how they're now more in tune with their customer base in making changes/improvements.
I think moreso now than I've ever seen before
I wish all manufacturers would put drawers under the booth seats. They even did in the bunk house for the secondary booth!
Rockwood is always doing those +1 features beyond what most brands offer
😉
Thanks Nerd!
Any time!
Their website should supersede what's listed here
Everything I dislike about our 2017 Jayco 23BHM is addressed here. This is the perfect sized trailer for a half ton truck and a family with a 1 kiddo.
Glad you like it!
Patiently waiting for the 2520BH
Still haven't seen one but I'm on the hunt!

Nice job Josh. TNT RV did the 2520 not sure from where …
We have the 2516 (actually the FKBS) but that could have done with the fridge that opens both ways! Sitting on the couch and wanting a Canadian cola would be so nice if it opened that way! 😉
Curious what brands of colas/drinks you have up there more regionally. Around here we have Faygo available quite often which is a smaller bottler vs pepsi/coke but I don't see it outside this region much
@@JoshtheRVNerd 🤣 well, I’m in the Buffalo area so when I say Canadian cola, I was talking about Molson or Labatts
@@MinniKev never heard that phrase but I love it
@@JoshtheRVNerd an old boss of mine was from Canada and I got that phrase from him. We would often have a Canadian cola after work.
Josh. I am pretty sure people are buying every time you post something. 😅
You know I really have no stats on that. I try to provide the info and if you like it, then you better put a ring on it lol :)
They verifiable do as Josh is an honest person on all levels, gives the verifiable facts, the good and the not so much, that’s why we ❤Josh. Honesty, what a cool 😎 concept.
Wonder how big the bunk room is. I'd make that the main bedroom and thos would be perfect!
Imagine actually has a model like that
Another grand design by Rockwood! But seriously is Rockwood hanging out in the GD development meetings?
lol I know. The entire Imagine family has easily become the most "cloned" builder out there. Look how many copies of things like these are available:
► 22MLE
► 17MKE
► 2600RB
► 2800BH
The list goes on
Hot dog. Extend it a foot or so and add a wall for a front private bedroom. Guess what you got all kinds of privacy for everyone at any moment of time.
Roger. TY
Great video, did you happen to get any info on the 2520?
Not yet but on the hunt
@@JoshtheRVNerd will keep watching to see. I have Micro Minnie FLX 2306BHS & family needs more space & storage options while keeping under 30ft in a trailer that has off-grid packages to run AC on solar/battery. Interested in leaning about 2025 Rockstaff 2519 or 2520 or Ibex 23MBH for our camping next year
This is the one I want !!! Are you getting one for the Coldwater location???
We carry rockwood there so it's possible but I don't know what each store's stocking matrix looks like
Not for me but thank you for all the information Josh.
You bet!
Where's it not working for you?
@@JoshtheRVNerd Murphy bed
Funny how they privatized the bunk room for the nonpaying guest and left the main bed in the kitchen/front room for the people paying the bills. I would prefer a privatized front bed room, but the bathroom was awesome
I think the idea is the biggest people enjoy the biggest room of the RV while the littles have their hidey-hole
I wish I had the larger oven
Like the outside access better of 2509s. The bunk slide out is nice but waste sleeping space, but will work as a game room for 2 but too small for anymore..
Yeah I keep comparing this to the 2509S. I know this has a place for sure. But I think I personally nod to the 2509S
👍🏼 Sweet! 🥰 Rockwood ROCKS! I’d remove those rear bunks and convert that to an office myself. Thanks Nerd! 🤓
I could totally see it being done
You lost me at no outdoor pop fridge 😀 🍺
Could always bring one of those powered fridge/cooler things!
You sure about dry weight being 5290? I see it elsewhere listed at 6009 lbs ...
What if there was an option for a long desk and chair instead of the mini dinette? Now you’re talking! I require two large monitors to work remotely and that little dinette won’t work for me. Thanks for listening!
That would be cool!
Throw up a wall to make the front bedroom private as well then turn the dinette into a couch. That’s a unicorn… two private rooms under 30 ft
Yup, make it slightly longer for private front bedroom (murphy bed could stay) and make bunk & dinette sharing one super-slide!
Yes! This!
You mean like this one under 30ft with private rooms? ua-cam.com/video/75xhQ1zVhDY/v-deo.html
@@JoshtheRVNerd good call! Just a little heavy on the hitch weight but definitely a unicorn
Thanks!!
I wish!
Very cool idea for the bunks. I'm thinking you can leave them up until you have kids / grandkids stay over, and have theater seats instead of the main dinette, if that were available. Although Murphy beds are a deal breaker for me, RockStaff has the easiest opening / closing one I've ever seen.
That's a great idea!
I'm a fan of the L-Lounges for models like this myself
The dinette would give kids a place for board games, puzzles, etc. I think it’s a great idea!
I wonder with the hide a bed or theater seat option if road mode is better ?
I don't think it'll change much. You might be able to slide thru past the slide out slightly easier but I am not thinking it'll be a night and day difference
Couldn’t they have just lowered the rear camera about 6” between the next lower ladder rung?
I'm unsure. I know only that they didn't like how it looked despite it "actually being ok" and I think they went to a different ladder setup on this one (like telescopic that wont block the camera in transit)
Rock wood and Flagg staff are doing a great job but the travel mode in most of the new ones is not good
depends on the layout really. Some are better than others
My uncle Gary says skeet skeet.
lololol
Why can they cut a slot in that front wall to make a true real queen mattress would fit. Very nice trailer.
Floor-to-ceiling limit is what prevents a true queen. The floor would need to be lower or ceiling higher
Now that's a great layout. A little bit too big for my midsize truck but I love it!
It's great you know your limits though!
Good video Josh
Wish they would put that command panel higher so kids don’t push the buttons
Fair point. Ty
yep yep! You got it on pull out all the stops! :)
You know the old saying, " I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out" 😂.
Any offerings over 400w for the solar from the factory?
I think their larger "power package" could be available on this but I don't know if they've actually engineered it out yet
That system basically fundamentally changes the entire RV electrical power distribution & has to be essentially" done again" from the ground up
@@JoshtheRVNerd yup. I figured that. The wiring probably needs re-pulling with thicker guage, and other major stuff. Thanks for the quick answer!
I could see it
@@JoshtheRVNerdAlso, I thought about it today and wondered if there would be more use for a full sized bed jack knife sofa instead of a second dinette.
That's not something they're going to offer on these as it turns out
@@JoshtheRVNerd is it something you’ve ever seen or heard of aftermarket?
Nice job Josh !
Thanks!
It's very nice I love windows in the main bed area
I do as well
That back area could definitely be an office.

They added a lot of bulk the past few years and are far more solid now than ever before
You might want to talk to the hi-lo drivers about taking a break during your next video, because they ruined the naps of both of my Pyrenees. Beep beep beep 😝
lol I was there during working hours and don't expect them to stop because of me! Rockwood was kind enough to set this up for us
