Josh, This is a great video to show everyone what they really want as far as layout. Here's something you might consider doing for future videos regarding what couples should look for in features. 1. Electricity consumption; how much solar does the rig offer and is it expandable? Does it have an inverter, is it gas or electric powered, can you run the microwave, can you run the AC unit? 2. Towing; what type of hitch does it have, should it have a sway bar or load leveling hitch and how easy is that to add something in that category? What is the safest hitch and which of them fail the most? How much hitch failure is caused by owner error? Gen Y hitches; etc. 3. Slide type and slide failure. (I know you have done these in the past, but something with actual stats on which ones fail the most and why added in to it and/or possibly updated by brand). 4. Suspension... Wide stance, leaf suspension and the different types and particularly maintaining them, and lastly independent torsion axles... What are the plusses and minuses of each. 5. Outside kitchens... What do you need vs. what do you want? How important are they? And then this one... 6. How do you plan to hook up that damned second TV? Is a second TV something you really want or need? What is the secret to hooking it up? After you decide on the floor plan those are some major deciding factors when it comes to making your purchase. Just some random ideas that stemmed from watching this video. Thanks, Pat
I want to give you around 20 "likes" just for the amount of work you put into the links. Great way to break it down by floor plan. Thanks for the work you put in on this one man!
Josh: GREAT JOB!! Really like the “philosophy of use” approach you’ve taken with today’s video. Lots of models identified grouped by floor plans and then there’s the included side bar list of specific similar models within each category. A person looking for that “perfect” rear dinette no slide trailer can use your list to quickly drill down without having to wade through a lot of other trailers that don’t meet their needs or wants. Please do more vides in this style. Respectfully, W.S.
Yes, you are reading my mind. I want to see floorplans. Specifically, I want to see bath and 1/2 floorplans as small as possible. I know it's gonna be close to 37ft...but maybe there are smaller that I don't know about.
Great job Josh. I appreciate this approach. My wife and I are weekend warriors, but end up with opportunities to stay an extra day "if only" we had a desk to work. This helped clarify our options
Thank you so much for all you do. We are shopping for retirement and dreaming of the future. Would love if you added a small family category to your reviews. Bunk houses aren’t great for teens, babies or those with mobility issues. Having 2 dedicated beds is the hope both with headroom and storage.
Talk about the shower being a elbow knocker on that Cougar, the TV placement is a head knocker for anyone sleeping on that side of the bed and trying to get around it in the middle of the night. It is so blocked off you have to get out at the foot of the bed. Not a good placement for the TV. Not sure where else it could go but it would be a deal killer.
Josh, this compilation format is fantastic. I take screen shots of the floorplans & stats of the ones we might use with a halfton. Such a great way to compare - thank you! Great job.🎉😊
My Christmas wish list is a light "toy hauler" except not really for anything more than kayaks with that drop down door with the fenced in patio space. 16' long with a queen bed that hides up at the ceiling and pulls down on struts (no electric lift necessary). Below the bed is roll over couch/ twin bed. The opposite wall would have a desk set up that could also be additional counter space. The kitchen would have a tall cabinet with the bottom 1/3rd dedicated to holding dog food/supplies. It needs a propane oven and burners (no microwave), a propane/electric fridge, a sink that works with an electric pump or with a hand pump. It must have a dry bath with a retractable shower door. Outside, I would like a rear awning and I'd prefer a dual axle.
I do like this layout of the video: I got to learn a lot more about floorplans and try to figure out what would be the best for my family. Thanks as always for the very informative (and humorous!) content!

Nicely done. thats a lot of work. for very selfish reasons I'd like to see a version of this featuring: solo, large human compatible, under 21', Off-grid/extended boondock, BLM compatible (tough and maneuverable) - Airstream Basecamp, Ember 170 series, intech navigate, etc. Not necessarily a rock crawler but will put up with washboard and unmaintained roads. Like the Geo-pro 19 series looks pretty good for the purpose without breaking the wallet. It would be awesome to have kind of an overview like this of the options that arent the tacticool black series and such.

If someone gets up early or someone stays up late, you NEED a wall/door on that bedroom. If you are lucky enough to have the same sleep schedule, you can save some serious $. Those last 3 campers you showed are all amazing. I loved this video, really walked us through a category and showed options so we can dial in what we truly want vs need. GREAT JOB! My only complaint, I know price is always something companies don't want to talk about, but sometimes I feel these videos get me to fall in love with a certain camper, then I find out it is a $60,000 camper and I am disappointed I can't afford it. I understand if you don't want to say the exact price, but maybe give a hint, these campers are under $25k, the next group is $25-35k, the final group is $35k plus.
Josh, I appreciate all the insights you provide into the RV industry. If there's one thing that I think you need to be more up front on, and that is the poor build quality RVer's are experiencing. I'm sure you watch Liz amazing as many others do and I know it would be hard for you to badmouth RVs when they're paying your salary, but truth is what it is.
Love most of the rvs on your list! I do not like the no slide campers! I love the couger floor plan. Love how small it is. But I like most of the rvs that you I saw. Love these type of videos. Have a great day josh!
I have a question not related to this video, but about builds and designs. I know they have a Western and Eastern region designs. Why? I like a lot of the features in the eastern designs, especially on this one.
They wife and I like the rear bedroom like our Flagstaff 2516s so we are further away from the campground road when backed into a site. Gives us a little more piece and quite.
Hey Josh thanks for all the good content you put out on RV'S. The 22G Artic fox now has a Murphy bed option as well as the 25 R coming with a two-seater Dinette and theater seat option and they put the TV across from it in the cabinet , but there are still some 2024 with mixed new features like the new fridge but same old colors they are probably just trying to use up all the old stock but it will be totally phased out soon. I know they are hard for you to find especially the outdoors RV titanium versions which looks so much better than the mountain series but I know they are pricey as well, anyway I know you will eventually find some and I'll be waiting to see what you think.
Such good timing. We are looking at getting our retirement camper and my husband loves rear living and I need a big kitchen and decent bathroom. Oh and I would like a bedroom slide all in an under 30 foot package!
Thanks for the helpful info. However, I just don’t understand how manufacturers expect anyone to RV for any length of time other than a weekend or few days with only the storage next to the bed. They always call them “wardrobes” but there is such minimal space in them for many clothes at all… The brands with actual wardrobes, like Rockwood Minilites, that include more hanging clothes storage and some shelves are clearly listening to customers.
I am looking for the best couples camper ebike hauler. Considering buying a bunkhouse model that I can convert to a Lectric bike garage or possibly removing a dinette for the same purpose.
Good video. Would love to see a video on how to interact with your outfitters to help find the perfect Rv for you. What questions to ask. What input to offer. Keep up the good work.
If they’re doing their job properly, then they should make it pretty easy for you. I always like to begin by finding our safe, towing capacities, how many people were sleeping, and how often you plan to use the RV in addition to how much you plan to tow it Those questions can very quickly give me a rough idea of where we need to be looking
1) Vibe very roomy. 2) Cougar very nice. I think that I like it better than the Vibe. 3) Ember… idk, perhaps. Had good points and not so good. 4) HarryGlenn’s look nice. Needs more backsplash. 5) I think that I can “Imagine” myself in an Imagine. I like the fold up counter. 6) I can see myself Sitting back and relaxing in this Alliance. Favorite one I think. 7) I like the Jayco as well, but it needs more backsplash and a place for CPAP machines. 8) Rockwood looked nice on the outside. Appeared to have 30# LP tanks. 9) Cougar #2 looks nice as well. It too needs more backsplash 10) Same as #9. 11) Mini’s: I love the counter space, however like all other campers, they need more backsplashes. 12) What? No Go Play’s???
I have had a chance to review a few but I live in Michigan and they're made in oregon with very little distribution around me. I have huuuuuge respect for ORV/Northwood and get my hands on them where I can
My wish is for a couples / dog parent camper. Give me a singe bunk on hinges that at night my dog can sleep on and during the day I flip it up, a tray on the underside of the bunk can fold down and I can use it as a desk. Give me a murphy bed for me and the wife, make the sofa have leg rests, watching a movie in a upright seated position sucks. Next give me a dinnett in a slide so we have a place to eat, build puzzles or play board games. Make it under 26Ft and less than 6K. On the tanks, give me a big grey tank. My wife and I have never come close to pooing 35 gallons of waste, Make the black 20 gallons, Gray 50 and fresh 35, Out of all the tanks fresh is the easiest to deal with, you either have water at the site or you transport water to your site as apposed to have sewer hook ups at the site or taking a portable waste tote to the dump station.
I do when I can. I've only had a few opportunities you can see on the channel here. They're made out west. I live in michigan. I just dont come across them often
Manufacturers are behind the curve, tow vehicles are getting smaller with less capacity as time moves on, most full size trucks moving down to 6 cylinder and small trucks to 4 cylinder engines. RV manufacturers still want to make multi slide behemoths - they should be moving toward more light weight campers. This is just a personal observation in general terms but I understand for each his own there are still some people still want large trailers etc . As a RV professional in the field what are your thoughts on this, do you think manufacturers are behind the curve in making RVs lighter and more accessible to today's modern vehicles?
Mfgs are making moves in those areas but with their company structures they can’t just pull the plug on the other stuff. There’s definitely things being made now that don’t make sense
Josh, None of these RV's are acceptable to me. They are just too small. They are all lacking space for a stackable washer/dryer, or tower unit. I don't like the single unit washer/dryer (where it washes and dries in the same machine), so that is a no-go for me. Let's face it, NO ONE wants to go to the laundromat or use the park facilities when they run out of clean clothes. People want to be independent and have convenience at their fingertips in their homes. These RV manufacturers have got to go back to the drawing board and keep trying. MASSIVE design changes need to happen in the RV industry because times have changed. And, with more and more people turning to RV's for a more affordable housing option, the RV's need to stop being thought of or treated like a "temporary" camper/recreational vehicle and more like a permanent home where people can have all the comforts of home that they need/enjoy. They have got to step it up if they want to compete with the tiny house market!!! I should be designing RV's because I have a lot of great ideas and suggestions on the things I personally would want in an RV. I realize everyone is different, and we all like different things, so the RV manufacturers also need to look at expanding their lines and offering multiple floor plans for each model that the customer could choose from. I am wondering if the manufacturers could do a slide-out off the back (in a back bathroom situation) and allow extra space for the laundry. Or why can't they allow space for a mud room entryway where it has closet storage and/or hall tree, bench seating, and laundry space. I saw this done in a tiny home where you enter through the rear of the home through the mud room (which had tile flooring). There, you could hang up jackets, hang up your purse/keys, kick off your shoes, and do laundry. It was separated from the main living space with tall vertical wood beams (2x4's), but they were spaced apart, so it still made the space feel open yet separated from the other space. Then, you step up into the living room space (which, along with the rest of the home), had vinyl plank wood flooring. It was the homeowner's design idea and wonderful use of the space. The tiny home wasn't much bigger than the width of an RV. I know if they can do it in a tiny home (also built on a trailer), they should be able to do the same with an RV. And, why can't we get a back or front patio on these models or a roof top terrace (for enjoying the weather or star gazing) that is collapsible (meaning the fence or guard rails could be removed during transit and slipped back into the holes/braces once parked and set up? And have a hole/brace for umbrella or awning for shade? These things should come as standard on every RV. I'm here to shake-up the RV industry because a lot of things need to change. And it needs to be made more affordable for the common people and families (somewhere in the $25K-$30K range). STOP looking at the profits and give the people nice amenities to help our communities, not doing things for the sole purpose of chasing the dollar! We need to get back to helping each other instead of letting CORPORATE GREED rule over us.
Are these murphy bed mattresses trash or are they decent? I keep writing them off assuming they are trash because they have to be light. So those who have experience with them, let me know.
My “perfect couple’s camper” would DEFINITELY include an attached ladder, solar, Goodyear tires, a true queen bed, theater seating, a TV ,an oven, a “porcelain” toilet, a “rectangular” shower with a shower door, a Maxxair vent fan, and most importantly, NO “1950’s DINER” BOOTH DINETTE💥💥💥

Josh,
This is a great video to show everyone what they really want as far as layout. Here's something you might consider doing for future videos regarding what couples should look for in features.

8) Rockwood looked nice on the outside. Appeared to have 30# LP tanks.
9) Cougar #2 looks nice as well. It too needs more backsplash
10) Same as #9.
11) Mini’s: I love the counter space, however like all other campers, they need more backsplashes.
12) What? No Go Play’s???
Thanks!
So kind.. ty so much!
Great Work!! ❤
Thanks 🔥
Weird we never see any Outdoor Rv trailers.
But they are made differently, I think better!
I have had a chance to review a few but I live in Michigan and they're made in oregon with very little distribution around me.
I have huuuuuge respect for ORV/Northwood and get my hands on them where I can
Hey Josh. I love rockwood but why is their tongue weight heavier then most?
they have a little bulkier structure in critical places
Thanks - great video. Love the Vibe, but I am not a fan of the bar-style table.
Fair enough. Not for everyone. I like them myself but they have their downsides for sure
What is the camper with the patio next to the Ember?
sorry - can you give me a minute marker please? Long video. Not sure where you're referencing
Cougar. Let's gooooooooo
☺☺☺☺
Thanks, nerd 🍺 🤓 job well done .
Thank you kindly
How about more off-road tougher couples trailer? Ground clearance?
Arctic Fox
Nash
Outdoors rv
Ember overlands
Did you say Tip To Tail? Cause that’s not what I heard! Lol
Lol..me too
"Floor Plan Famlies" cuz we're in MMMerica... LOL
I'm waiting to see a list for long term live in / divorce models under 30 foot. Asking for a friend..........
woof. This list is really what I'd suggest scanning for now
Do you ever review "Lance" brand RV travel trailer, or can you share, even, just an opinion of this brand?
I do when I can. I've only had a few opportunities you can see on the channel here. They're made out west. I live in michigan. I just dont come across them often
I dont have enough experience with them to feel I have a strong opinion either way though
Are there any trailers that are wheelchair usable?
I’m not really aware of many made specifically for that purpose. Sometimes people will suggest a toy hauler as a “work around”
do any of these, 30ft or less campers come in 5th wheel version?
Yep. Made a video for that. See here m.ua-cam.com/video/ETQR_VJ4LqQ/v-deo.html
Who makes a 30 ft with fire place across from recliner
A lot of builders and models. Our local teams can help you pinpoint a few

How about couples campers under 20 foot
I have something along those lines coming

when i think "RV" i think "Road Vehicle." These look oddly alot like trailers to me.
Recreational vehicles have multiple categories. Towable RVs and Motorized RVs are two of the most common
The only thing that is a deal breaker for me is a Murphy bed just don't like them
I can respect that for sure
Josh,
None of these RV's are acceptable to me.
So those who have experience with them, let me know.
nearly no factory mattresses are really nice. Most folks at least put on a foam topper
Yessssssss!!! Thank you Josh! I think you made this just for me and i will not change my mind. ♥️👍🫡
I did. Absolutely. 100% with you in mind. We're going with that.
