So….I bent the wire and used binder clips to fix it to a cardboard box. It left me a perfect little spot to keep my glue. My 2 and 3 year old grandchildren took turns cranking and we made about a hundred beads after dinner last night. Wow!
Nice Leah.
Wow! Great project and video!

Great info. Tha k you for showing us your creative devise to make paper beads
Thanks Katie. I have such fun making gadgets!
Wow! This is very cool. I just ordered a hand beading tool, but I will definitely be making this as I was thinking about buying the plastic 4M paper beading tool kit for my granddaughter. This is so much better! I can see using different gage wire for different size beads etc. And maybe more holes to hold beads while they dry. I may use a large metal coffee can instead... But you've definitely gotten my gears turning!
I also want to say that you did a stand out job explaining & showing everything. Simple and detailed. Thank you so much for your idea!
Thanks so much for your wonderful feedback Andrea. Have fun with the beads.
Wonderful!! Thank You from Puerto Rico.

Holy Guacamole!!!
This is almost as fast as glass! This went into my “MoneyMaker” file too!!
Just seeing your comment Jay. You gonna be rich!!!! THANK YOU!
What an ingenious idea. I’ve just ordered a tool for rolling beads. What a waste on my part, your idea will be just as good, if not better
Thanks Annie: I'm sure your new tool will be very helpful. Have fun making the paper beads!
Wow, awesome!! This is the best DIY crafters invention ever!!!! Thank you so much for sharing this!!
Thank you for the great feedback! :)
Thank you so much for the video!!! I was a click away from ordering a bead machine on Amazon when I thought I'd see if there were instructions on UA-cam. The crank instructions were fantastic! I modified your design a bit and used a vegetable can with added weights in the bottom so it stands still while I crank. I used my Crop-A-Dile to make the holes for the crank. It has enough room to put my inverted glue bottle inside. I'm literally making beads 5 times faster!!! Thanks again, you are a craft diva!
Hey Deborah: Thanks so much for your awesome feedback. Love your ingenuity. Happy crafting. Heather
Tfs! Very nice DIY bead roller.
Thank you!
This is easy on the wrist.
Yes!
Thank your for that great idea! I made a modified version. I put a bag of rocks inside the contain and hot glued the lid on. Turned it upside down and use a drill to make the holes for the crank. The rocks work better for me as my table top and tape do not get along. Thanks again.
Hi Karen: That is an amazing idea with the rocks! Thanks so much for letting me know! I'll add it to the video description! Heather.
Wow, thanks, but exactly how well did this work, with the container upside down?, Please respond, thanks.
*I was thinking the same thing add weight to the container for sure. 😊😊😊* Sharon in SC

Heather, you are a genius! I’ve just recently gotten interested in paper beads but haven’t tried making them yet. I looked at the bead rolling machines on Amazon and they were very expensive. I’ve been watching UA-cam videos and collecting papers to get started. Thank you for this fabulous idea.🌻🌹💕
You are very welcome Teresa. This is an older video. Please let me know if you need any additional help!
Thank you for sharing this. Its awsome. Greetings from Denmark.
Thanks so much. Hello from Montreal.
great idea! I've been using the wooden handled tools.
Thank you for watching and your great feedback!😍
What a great idea 👌very cool,as I was watching your video I thought of using my q,hilling tool.I suppose this little machine could be used for a few other things too ,,,it sure got me thinking thank you for sharing this.excelent idea.I was painting beads yesterday if I had this machine I would of used it just to turn then as I painted them.I ended up using that back of a paint brush.
Great idea for the quilling tool! Thanks for watching!
@@HeatherBoydWire yes,that's true,I didn't think of that💡 .thank you.💕
How clever! I may well try this idea. Thanks.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting!😍
I love your ingenuity. We are a lot alike, if you need a machine, just make it out of what you have in the house. I make my own fabric rolls to make crocheting and weaving go very smoothly. I used a cardboard box and a few pieces of PVC to make my rolling machine. I get perfect fabric rolls quickly and easily.
That's awesome Patty. I love anything DIY!
I use to make paper beads. Bought a little wooden machine this man was making and selling them on E-Bay. Bought it. It's really neats. Making paper Beads are fun. Haven't done it in a while. Didn't knoe you could make your own. 😁😁
That's awesome Jamie!
INGENIOUS LITTLE INVENTION! GOTTA TRY THIS!!! JUST WHAT I NEED....ANOTHER EXCUSE NOT TO DO HOUSEWORK. 😊
Just seeing this now. Thank you!

Thank you! 😍
Thank you so much Heather, you're yogurt pot certainly works and those beads are just lovely. TFS
Thanks so much for watching and the great comments.
Very cool! It does help if you measure and make all your strips the same length, and that you make them pointy at the end.
Thanks DA
I think I want to try my hand at paper beads. Thanks and Happy New Year.
Very clever. Thank you for sharing :)
Thank for the nice feedback. Have fun with it!
Thanks for watching Nicholas! If you want to see lots of food and artsy events then YES!

Love this comment! Thanks Corinne. 😀
Love it!!
Thank you! 😍
Thanks for the great invention!
I was going to use a toothpick, but will use this now.
(and...it’s called an “isosceles triangle”😊)
Awesome. TKS for the geometry info! 😍
Thank you for the ideas - specially the machine instructions. It will make making paper beads so easy - am new to making paper beads, myself, and, sometimes have trouble "holding on" to some things because of having rheumtoid arthritis. But, I feel like this machine will help me so much. Thank you again.
I'm so happy the video is helpful. Good luck with it!
Wow heather fantastic idea shall make this just subscribed kk from new zealand
Thanks so much for subbing!
Gracias por compartir tu creatividad.!!!! Muchos Saludos desde Chile!!!
Gracias Olga!
Wow this is fantastic. What i like to do with my beads is i roll a couple of layers together to make the beads more round too
That's a great idea. Thanks for sharing. 😍
Awesome video! I love making my own crafting aids/ tools and you've certainly helped me out with your DIY Bead Roller!!! Newly subbed and liked!!
Thanks so much for the great feedback and for subbing! 😍
I love these DIY tools.
Hello, i did write on here awhile ago, but although i did make one of these with rocks & sand, i now found a much better way to make it to stay in place, i used cement slightly watered down, then i put it in the container about 3 quarters full.
Very cute. I have had the best time making these paper beads. You always have great ideas.
Thanks so much Linda.
Genius.
Thanks Tammy!
what a great idea! thanks for sharing it with us =)

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. Happy holidays.
nice idea
Maggie: Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
genial essa ferramenta:)
gracias!
Wow thanks this great idea, Well i'm going to give this inventive contraption a try, i do hope that it'll work, i've been wanting to be able to make wider beads than what i can make with my small bead winding tools also hopefully this will speed up my bead making & be less wrist turning. OK, i filled the plastic container with soil & 2 heavy rocks, i must say that this does work quite well, although it does move a bit, but i'm still able to make tons of beads & it surely beats having to shell out $26.00 & $6.25 for S&H & tax, so i'm happy thanks a bunch.
Thanks Melody. The beads wind up quite tightly. I put the pot upside down so the bottom sits flat on the table! You can probably try some other ways too!
@@HeatherBoydWire Thanks for the reply, but in your video here you show the plastic container right side up, what do you mean by having it upside down? I haven't yet tried doing the container this way.
i am alway trying to make a roller i use carter pins i ot glue a bead on the loop part they are great they come in several sizes from tiny to large
Great idea for the pins. I looked them up on Google and they showed me "cotter pins". Thanks for the fantastic suggestion. Heather
Very clever! Creative use of household things! I would turn the tray over and cut on the backside. That way you won't bend that beautiful metal ruler. I've seen rulers that were "swaybacked" from bending them. Wouldn't want that to happen to yours.
Hi Terrie: Great idea...thanks for suggesting it! Happy New Year. 😍
Flip the cutting board over for a level surface I loved the video.
Thanks for the suggestion!
thank you , a very good idea! Now you have to teach us how to build a machine that makes many beads at the same time LOL
And you gave me an idea to do my quilling with this wire you folded in two.... kisses!
Love the idea for the quilling. Please share photo if you use the technique and share on Instagram @heatherboydwire or email to info@heatherboydwire.com Good luck!
If you want to sell them I think you can't use any kind of varnish. It needs to be skin friendly and not react with sweat, body lotions, make- up etc. I am still, looking for a varnish over here in Germany that is skin friendly and can't cause allergies.
What I've found so far, I know this was a year ago, was I use something called Triple Thick first. I'm not sure if you have that there. Then I go online to Etsy and buy Vibrance paper bead varnish. I have very sensitive skin and I can wear my beads all I want. I let all beads set aside for a couple of weeks at the least before use in a project.
We have the same kind of floor ... lol! we're going to be getting rid of ours though .. we don't like it. Thanks for the video! Cool!
We just got rid of ours and did a DIY update of our kitchen during isolation. Used 12x12 adhesive tiles...worked like a charm!
Great idea. ... Why did you stop using the coat hanger handle, though? Thanks!
Sorry, just seeing this now. Thank you!
Beautiful 💖💖💖
Thank you. 😍
Excellent winder design. The best things are the ones that don't cost a dime. Do the beads hold their shape well and not get worn at the edges? Thank you.
Thanks so much Diane. You can put a thicker lacquer on the beads so they are more stable.for necklaces. For earrings they probably are fine with regular varnish. Let me know if you make some!
@@HeatherBoydWire T y. Can I use an additional coat of the original lacquer? If not what do you recommend? Thank you for your help.
I use this one:: amzn.to/2HRjnsM You can get resin that you mix like epoxy which is very strong and would be more water resistant. For ordinary wear I think the one I use is fine!
