I use a really basic carrier from Amazon. I must admit, it is a little sketchy. This one looks a lot more solid and I like the tilt feature. Slick setup.
I just received mine a couple days ago and assembled it last evening. Solo!! Can I say "Heavy" for this old 68 year old arthritic Army (Ret.) Vet?!! But it is solid and done. One thing that really intrigued me and I LOVED about watching your video is when you installed the rack onto your hitch: by having it in two parts!! First you installed the assembly that actually attached to the hitch, and THEN you slid on and latched in the basket assembly that holds the bike (in my case an 85 lb. full-size eBike). Definitely makes it simple. It was one of those ..."Now why didn't I think of that; I am so glad I watched this video!!" ... moments. Thanks for a great instructional.
Bought our Mockins 83 for our Sons new Kawaski KX112 for Christmas. We will attempt to put it together this weekend. 68 year old Mom of a 14 year old... I'm the MacGyver of the family so wish me luck
I have a Mockins roof cargo basket, the steel tubing is strong & durable. Welding is strong, tight & clean. I attach 270 awning & whatever else to it. Finish still holding up after years. I might have to purchase this for my dirt bike. Good review 🫡
We put together yesterday this Mockins 84...other than a poor weld on the right basket that had to be filed smooth to connect the connection tube, it came together pretty easy for 2 husband/wife team seniors in late 60's. We do have 2 pieces that wasn't in instructions....The "U" bolt and black metal plate with bolts listed in manual under accessories. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm in a pinch and need to get a new carrier this week. Is it easy to load? I'd like to push my 250 xcw on to it rather than feather throttle it on to there.
Seems overkill for a dirt bike anyway. I've been using an aluminum AMC 400 carrier since 2002 on various vehicles. Its greatest feature it is light weight. Many, many trips including back country off road to remote campsites. I haul it with my Jeep JL which has a 350 pound tongue weight capacity, which is where the lighter weight comes into play. My motorcycle, plus carrier I estimate to be about 310 pounds. Every pound counts. I strap the bike down at the bars and the front and rear tire. Like I said, 22 years I've using this thing. It's been the most reliable part of motorcycling.

Update: Found a video it's a hitch stabilizer.

Depends on how tall your vehicle is. You can push it on when it’s on the Tesla but our truck it was way steeper so we had to drive it up the ramp
@@dirtbikesam Gotcha. 2019 Ford Explorer. Not much taller than a standard car would be.
Yeah I don't think it will be too steep but it can be some effort to push it up the ramp.

My back tire is 6.5", and my bike is 550 pounds with fixed-mounted accessories. will these dimensions work with this hauler?
