I saw him at Crossroads last September, the first time I've ever heard about him. He was one of my favorite and best acts there. .My daughter and I both loved his music. Going to see him in Santa Barbara this August. I can't wait to hear him live for a full show. It's sad that all the talented musicians are not recognize my most of the population. They only push crappy music and so calle artist.
This album Gary's best so far, its a masterpiece in production songwriting and musicianship while having the early 70s style vibe of many of the Black artists at that time.
Ehh I don't think it's his best work. It's good for sure. Dynamic, and innovative as he is. But personally, The Story of Sonny Boy Slim was my favorite.
